I'm not being funny but I own 100+ map offers for this map, that's 500k BP minimum down the drain yet again...

Seriously need a store so when you change and remove stuff I can sell them before to get some BP back at least instead of either losing them or just having them be useless

Surprised not to see someone asking how much longer the RE IP will last just to know when will RPD be over.

Lol dude I'm in my twenties. I don't think you understand much about what I said. Just saying I like fnaf so I must be young is stupid and literally the one thing I talked about the most in the essay. I hate the people like you just decided to nitpick and pick apart my reasoning instead of telling me with your opinions. Like bro, chill. This is supposed to be like a conversation over coffee, not a freaking debate tournament.

None of this post is bait, I mean and stand by everything I said. Opinions are valid, however trying to make Legions lore dark isn't an opinion, it's a stretch. Their lore isn't smart and it isn't some sort of dark tale of edgy teens, it's just trash. I think its valid that you think Springtrap looks goofy, I don't agree and understand why, but it's valid, and it's also valid to say that Legion belongs more than Springtrap, but it's just kind of a weird opinion to have.

I stated quite clearly that I dont want to argue about politics, I just stated that I stand by Scott because I do, and its my post and I'm allowed to. And yes it does changw the possibility of the DLC because, as I stated, BHVR may not want to dip their toes in that water. This is just you nitpicking what I said and arguing against that instead of my whole essay. I wanted to show that opinions are valid and even though I would buy things from Scott even after what came out, I think its okay that other people aren't, again, trying to keep things chill, I'm not trying to argue politics.

Saying an original chapter could be better than fnaf.... is just wrong. Fnaf is very controversial, and I understand, it's not what everyone wants. But I know adults that like fnaf, and you.ignored the fact that there is so much fan content made by adults. Not children, just people like you who enjoy fnaf. In your head everyone who likes fnaf is some sort of 11 year old who only talks about how the purple guy is phone guy who wearing his fnaf backpack and fnaf hat. That isn't what fnaf fans are like, and you know what, even if it is what some fans are like, who the hell are you to judge that? People expressing themselves is a normal thing and people posting about fnaf is no different than people posting about any other franchise.

If you have an issue with kids coming to dbd because it would mean them throwing tantrums, well I mean, have you played DbD before? More players = more hype for more chapters that you may want. More players = a more stimulated company which means the game lasts longer. More kid players = more people who get to grow up with the game and stand by it. You not wanting kids to play is just kind of a mean thing to say.

In the end, it's okay if you don't want fnaf. It's not okay that you assume I'm looking for a fight when I state I just want a conversation. Its always stereotyped that fnaf fans are annoying and obnoxious when you are no better. Picking apart my arguments and arguing it all together, saying I'm annoying and entitled for supporting something I love, assuming I'm just bait because I state my opinion. Just chill man. Just chill.

Just saying I like fnaf so I must be young is stupid and literally the one thing I talked about the most in the essay.

I never said that you're young for liking FNAF, I thought of you to be really young just because the way you decided to present and defend your points.

I mean I agree with you on Legion's lore being complete sh*t, I was just mocking your way of comparing FNAF lore with sh*t to make it look better, not making it any good at any point. I was just using the figure of speech you used to make you maybe realize how ridiculous that comparative was.

I stated quite clearly that I dont want to argue about politics, I just stated that I stand by Scott because I do, and its my post and I'm allowed to.

Yeah and it's my answer to the post and I'm allowed to point out politics become personal when you bring up that a dev, maybe the main one, of the game as someone who actively supports a bigot that promoted harmful sh*t against minorities, LGBTQ+ amongst others, and is widely hated internationally, acting completely against your point. I was just wondering what in tarnation would make you think it was a good thing to bring this up in a post claiming FNAF would be good for DBD. Just skip it.

Saying an original chapter could be better than fnaf.... is just wrong. [...] But I know adults that like fnaf, and you.ignored the fact that there is so much fan content made by adults. Not children, just people like you who enjoy fnaf.

It is not wrong. It's my opinion, might be wrong to you, as your opinion on bringing FNAF to DBD sounds completely egregious and unapealling to me. Honestly imho, and this is an opinion, not objective facts on what helped DBD out in the long term, the best thing that happened to this game was Blight chapter. I get that IPs can be good and can bring a lot of people that's still on a marketing point of view and it might still be wrong because something as controversial as FNAF could easily backfire in so many ways. I do know adults that enjoy FNAF too, the thing is that this game is what, 7 years old? mostly anyone who met this game and grew any interest on it was a child when that happened and it probably grew into you all, and is still, even if half-heartedly(proven by its obscure lore), a game dedicated to serve a really young audience because it is what once worked and it's the formula they're gonna follow, even if they give hints to the counterpart and minority of the fanbase to not make them feel neglected by the games recurring concept and development.

If you have an issue with kids coming to dbd because it would mean them throwing tantrums, well I mean, have you played DbD before? More players = more hype for more chapters that you may want.

I Don't Want New Chapters, I Want The Game To Be Fixed And Balanced. Bringing A Bunch Of Kids Will Most Likely Sever Part Of The Community Because Nobody Likes To Play With Constant Tantrums, Entitlement, Bad Mannerism And More Often Than Not Uneducated Kids Spitting Out Slurs Because It Is Oh So Funny And Edgy. Making A Highly Successful (regarding numbers out of inflow of new players, not necessarily lasting ones) Chapter Would Support The Idea That Bringing New Content Instead Of Fixing The Game Is Better For The Company And That A Broken Game That Will Barely Hold In Who Knows How Many Patches Away From Us Is Bearable.

Yeah, opinions are okay, dividing and analyzing your post so arguing against it is easier isn't a fight. It's stereotyped that kids are annoying and obnoxious, not FNAF fans. Never said you're annoying or entitled for supporting something you love. I stated that our community is becoming more and more entitled and annoying as of late, not implying you're part of the problem, I implied that the last thing we need in our community is a big inflow of kids making the problem even more unbearable. And fairly enough I positively thought your post was a bait, even though I kept going, because I found your first points on it just ridiculous, thats it.

Edit: I apologize for any typos or incomplete sentences, it's pretty late and I'm about to hit bed.

I was being facetious. The the argument for mmr is that ranks don't matter because it's a measure of playtime not skill at the game. Therefore playtime doesn't matter and doesn't equate to skill. I think it's dumb and that ranks certainly do matter for every rank that isn't red.

    fair enough

  • @InsatiableMop said:

Hours in game don't matter though that's why we need MMR

People with around 3000 hours, able to win most matches against average level killers just through experience shouldn't be matched against begginers that are still figuring out the game, which take a bunch of hours. MMR shouldn't measure playtime, but skill is related to experience and experience is related to playtime though?

  • @Deadlock said:

Okay. I'm doing it. I've prepared this post for months. I really wanted to make it but never had the courage to do so, but with the new chapter teasers and the huge Pinhead or Springtrap debate, I just want to do it (Also I believe the next killer is Pinhead, but I can dream).

So I'm going to go over the large arguments on why fnaf does belong in DbD and how it could work out. I encourage you leave your opinion as well. If you don't want fnaf in DbD, that is 100% okay, as long as you have a better reasoning than "fnaf is for kids," which brings me to...

Fnaf is for kids: No. No it isn't.

Okay sure more recently the game seems to be more advertised for children, and children are usually associated with the fnaf franchise, but there is a huge division in the fnaf community.

Kids play the game, Adults enjoy the game. Kids think of the game just as a spooky game that they can watch YouTubers play and get scared by. That's what it was to me when I was younger, but now I genuinely enjoy the franchise for its lore, characters, gameplay, and much more.

Also, let me just say, a game involving murder, child murder, someone's innards being ripped out and replaced by a robot, a walking Corpse, a walking Corpse inside of a robotic suit, childrens souls being trapped in a purgatory where they are stuck inside robots, and and a man being haunted by the souls of his dead victims doesn't sound like a kids game to me. The game is messed up, and horrific. There are plenty of videos that display what fnaf truly can be, just look up "Fnaf Vhs tapes" on YouTube.

Also, lets hypothetically say fnaf is a kids game, so kids come to DbD. Well guess what, that means faster queue times. And if you want to say that kids won't play good, plenty of adults play this game worse than a 1 year old could.

I hate it when people use this argument, because it doesn't hold up and is the equivalent of saying "Deadpool is a kids movie because kids like Deadpool."

I do not think it is a valid argument and do not expect me to reply to you if you use this argument.

The Scott Situation: Okay, first of all #IStandByScott, second of all, good point.

The situation with Scott is messy, and I see why people wouldn't want Fnaf in DbD for that reason. I really don't want to talk about the situation tho, this is a conversation about killing people virtually, not politics. However knowing money is going to someone I dislike is a bad feeling. I think its fine to dislike Scott, and I'm sure BHVR may just not want to dip their toes in that water.

So this really isn't an argument pro-fnaf but I just wanted to state it.

The Money: Fnaf could be an absolute money machine for DbD. There are alot of characters that could be skins (because let's face it, Springtrap is the most hyped choice for killer) for Springtrap. Personally Ennard would be an amazing legendary skin, or maybe the original 4 animatronics. Any way you slice it, it would make a ton of money. Not even to mention the fact that you would have to buy the dlc. It's probably the most hyped chapter in DbD, so a TON of people would buy it.

Springtrap: Springtrap feels like a perfect fit for the killer roster. Like, cmon, which fits more? A group of teens that got peer pressured into killing someone vs a serial killer that was trapped in a suit by the souls of his victims that then proceeded to gut him like a fish, but not kill him, and now is out for revenge. Like seriously, fnaf haters say Springtrap doesn't belong when his lore is 10x better than most of the killers. Not to mention his design. A small touch up to make him darker and fit in with the DbD environment would make him perfect tbh. Again, compared to Legion, which is just a teen with a mask (I am allowed to slander Legion I main him).

We Could Get A Good New Map: RPD suuucks so hard, and it really makes me want to see BHVR make a good map. Personally I think BHVR makes good maps from other franchises (I like Midwich don't @ me) and RPD was just a slip up. But the Fnaf 1 or 3 location could really work out in a great map, or hell, Security Breach is on its way, getting a map from that could be amazing.

So that was my argument. Please tell me why Springtrap does or doesn't belong, however if you say it's because fnaf is for kids I may block you, just kidding but not really.

    Happy Gaming!

"Okay sure more recently the game seems to be more advertised for children"

    >Recently

Is this a entire post a bait?

Also, lets hypothetically say fnaf is a kids game, so kids come to DbD. Well guess what, that means faster queue times.

It's gotta be a bait right? Like this community is already getting so extremely entitled and annoying, the last thing we need is a sudden increase in the proportion of children in DBD having a tantrum every ######### game they lose.

The Scott Situation: Okay, first of all #IStandByScott, second of all, good point.

Don't bring a pointless political controversy up if it's related to the game you're asking to be made into a dlc, politics become personal once it involves a globally known infamous bigot that was betting on terrible things, things that might've been directly involved with you if you're for example part of a minority, people might learn it and have actual solid reasons to stay away completely from FNAF.

Fnaf could be an absolute money machine for DbD. [...] because let's face it, Springtrap is the most hyped choice for killer.

I guess that's true if you bring your statistics from a pool formed by 11 to 16 -year-olds. I've read this about Jason Vohres, Candyman, Evil Within and other generally desired IPs. Just like any DLC, FNAF would be good economically for the game just like any DLC, almost every old timer will get the dlc, a lot of new players will still get it because of trying out the characters with their perks, and it would be needed for any kind of completionist, which are a big part of the community, still I feel any original concept designed by BHVR would still be miles better than FNAF.

Like, cmon, which fits more? A group of teens that got peer pressured into killing someone vs a serial killer that was trapped in a suit by the souls of his victims that then proceeded to gut him like a fish, but not kill him, and now is out for revenge.

I guess you're allowed to try to make your point more appealing by simplifying and ridiculizing not even necessarily opposite points to make your simile seem actually right. FNAF points to a goofy looking murderous serial killer out of a franchise that was popularized by youtubers creating content dedicated for really really young communities whilst Legion is a group of people which concept conveys how being socially misaligned can throw you into the deepest, wrongest ways of being. See what I'm doing here? Both are our opinions, don't try to make a point out of that kind of speech. It's pretty dull for someone making the effort to read through this to find these kind of cheap points trying so hard to make you sound right when you really don't want people to neglect this entire post out of this sole part of the post.

We Could Get A Good New Map: RPD suuucks so hard. [...]  But the Fnaf 1 or 3 location could really work out in a great map.

I get RPD is hated by a lot of people, I personally found it to be a good map after learning it, pretty confusing when you first play it, but once you get used to it the map can be so good to play in, which is unrelated to this post.

After checking the maps, FNAF 1 seems too small, would need way more rooms and FNAF 3 seems like a set of random long corridors with barely any rooms connected, still small map, unless it gets the midwich treatment. I will immediately discard security breach since it looks like a funky bright awkward map to bring to a game as dark as DBD.

    ___

I'm not sure how old are you, I'm guessing you're still really young, but this idea seems all completely wrong to me, personally. FNAF seems like a way too goofy and childish concept, which the general horror value of the original game was the loud sudden jumpscare which would make the youtubers have le funny reaction, to bring into a game which concept is pretty dark and lately this company is failing to fulfill imho. Anyone with no interest on FNAF would really not take the concept of ST seriously, since if you're missing his spoooooky lore he's just a bunny robot with a weird scuffed smile that would be fitting for a Scooby-Doo antagonist, would maybe even make people to step back from getting the dlc out of how cringe and childish the game is perceived by so much people.

Today i played with survivor with some friends, i'm rank 1 and they are purple ranks. They don't play survivor often but we know enough about the game to give a fight. I guess that's why they have a low MMR, since the killers we are getting paired up with barely know what they are doing. Right now we got paired up with a huntress who literally just played the game for 21h, they didnt even have 4 perks. So yeah, is MMR making matches more fair? Yeah, totally. Some of these killers couldn't even get a hit in, its a miracle they dont dc.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/YVRJD44GTU7K/imagen-2021-08-14-000018.png

I've been doing pretty good as survivor since I started playing, getting mostly over 24k points, a lot of gold/iri medals, managed to stay in a high rank without spamming the game and escaped most of my matches and apparently sbmm thinks it's okay to match me with survivors who weren't smurfing with 150h against killers with 1500h. It's been bloodbath after bloodbath, trying to bet on hatch, having to run Iron Will BT -a l w a y s-, witnessing 3man slugs with people falling right over each other with way more frequency than that should be happening. As killer I would either get, on the same killer, 3 people with yellow ranks level of gameplay, 1 person with green to red level of gameplay, to suddenly into the next match with a lobby of 4 good, hard to catch, efficient survivors. This experience was cycling so after every ######### match I would have a decently hard game.

This system could be really good if it was pulled right, but the team of devs is unable to realize that the playerbase isn't big enough to efficiently implement this without ruining almost every soloqueuer experience because queues would be otherwise excruciatingly long plus they seemengly collected the data without discerning between 4man stacks and soloQ players, ignoring all the spectrum between those two extremes. Probably just basing MMR calculations mostly on % of wins vs losses without taking into account the amount of games played and thats maybe why we're getting 150h people into games against or with people with 5 times their experience. Just keep the game as it was, or don't do a live test that lasts over 2 days long till both queues and matches are somewhat okayish to everyone. This was pulled off in such a scuffed way it's actually so ######### depressing to see this game fall deep into this weird shithole of performance issues, increasingly matchmaking issues which a lot of people are encouraging because they're suddenly getting easily winnable matches both as killer or with their swf. Matchmaking wasn't an issue, last gen console performance was, audio bugs that came into this patch related to Iron Will are, survivors not making any sound while on the ground had been an issue since beta.

ISTG I'm regretting every penny I spent in this game.

  • @Superyoshiegg said:

I'm hoping it's all a red herring and that the chapter is original, though I imagine BHVR would get into a lot of flak for that.

I believe they do but they get cockblocked and forced into working on new content because improving and fixing the game won't bring new players/get a lot of people who left the game back on it since you can't really trust this company anymore after their terrible history.

I want to propose a change to the bloodwebs regarding the entity picks and the general layot!

    What this should achieve:

    • more perks in shorter time
    • shorter bloodwebs
    • help for new players

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/OVEPMNLEWCLZ/bloodweb-rework.png

(don't wonder about the addons in the pic, I just had no energy to give the tree variaty so I copy pasted 2 things!)

Like you can see above the entity picks from the basis/root instead of the end. Each perk tree opens with 6 perks directly at the basis when one is picked the entity blocks a random perk blocking all addons following it. The entity is not targeting the perks itself but the "root" instead which means it would still act this way if there are no perks left anymore.

With this changes the entity will always take exactly 50% of the tree which is more then it does at average now.

    Nice to have changes:

    • Click on perk/addon/offering instead of holding it for 1 sec.
    • faster animations

I hope you like it and I hope BHVR likes it so we can get this instead of what we have now which would a improvement on all fronts.

I mean this is a great idea but like most multiplayer games, having a massive grind promotes getting somewhat addicted/involved with the game to a point it becomes hard to just leave it, since you spent so much time on it and it feels like a waste. As someone who spent a lot of time and more money than what I'm capable of admiting in League Of Legends, leaving the game was hard, since I felt it was the only game I was good at for I spent a lot of time learning the game and having so many in-game content made it even harder. As you get more involved with the game it's usual that you'll spend real money in unlocking characters since the iri-point progress vs the costs of characters vs your progress early into the game are stupidly unbalanced. The grind is frustrating for the playerbase but economically it's so good for the game.

The devs want this so long time players still have hard to achieve objectives since unlocking 3 perks from tier 1 to 3 on every character is a ridiculous amount of points, and for other not long time players to feel they have a big challenge ahead of them and spam the game to eventually overcome this challenge. And this is just talking about bloodpoints. I wish they would sometime reduce the amount of grind because seeing big streamers with thousands of hours in this game still having to farm so many points each time a character releases makes the idea that new players have a frustrating slow to progress hell ahead of themselves really easy to grasp.

After dying almost 3 times on my first hook, getting tunneled, facecamped and getting the worst teammates imaginable, I was done with DBD.

The first one got down after 15 seconds in the chase, the second committed suicide and the third one did nothing but fail skill checks and hide in a locker.

    After i Dced i got a 15MIN penalty?

    WHY? on my first DC?

I understand I shouldn't DC, but after 4 horrible matches I was done with this nonsense.

The devs are back on track with matchmaking.😪

    Behaviour is doing great!😒

But I still don't understand how I get a 15 minute penalty on my first DC.

Yesterday I lost connection to the server, I got a penalty of 15 minutes for that too, WHY?

5 min DC penalties take more or less a day to wear off. If you DC before the first penalty got to wore off you get thrown into the 15 min status which lasts even longer and accumulates with the 5 min one, taking over a day but less than 2 to wear off.

I've been playing Outer Worlds, just started second DLC. Played that and Borderlands 3 a bunch while DBD was unplayable.

Next time DBD becomes unplayable I'll be calling it quits. Performance just keeps getting worse. DBD has already been unplayable due to performance issues from patches twice now, one more and that'll be 3 strikes I'm out. The "only game of its kind" doesn't really matter if I keep being unable to play it due to performance issues. Back 4 Blood's Turtle Rock Studios has 125 employees and their beta with so much going on had 0 performance issues for me yet 5 year old DBD's BHVR with 600 employees can't get performance issues under control with 5 players and very little happening.

I never said my opinion overwrites others, I'm not sure where you're seeing this because that's the second time you implied and-or outright said. I'm just saying there's more to my opinion than what meets the eye, I wouldn't even call it my opinion, it's our opinion and it's backed up with factual evidence [not going to tell you because me and others have explained many times, just scroll up to previous comments]. Not once have you or anyone else attempted to rebuttal our opinion with your own factual evidence behind your own opinion. Until you or someone else quotes me and explains to me, I don't know what else to tell you if all you're say is "Memorize RCPD Layout" and not tell the majority of the community how exactly. I agree it's a pretty map, I'm with you on that, but it's not designed to be a good map gameplay wise.

You realize there's some maps with layout you eventually have memorize because otherwise you'll be running into who knows what? Midwich? Dead Dawg Saloon? Hawkins? Only things that change on those are generator spawns. Play enough RPD to remember at least vaguely what to expect from each part of the map. Also calling the base of your opinion evidence means nothing.

I skimmed through this entire thread just to see if any of the points given here felt somehow right and could be called factual evidence on where you could support your opinion and dare to call it objective and honestly the only one I can agree on is on lack of illumination if you're running the game in low graphics. Map has that one awkward problem, apart from stability issues which are mostly fixed excluding last gen.

Being as big as it is isn't an issue because it's not that ridiculously big. Mothers Dwelling is way more painful to deal with 100% of the times regarding size. Now imagine the time Doctor players, anyone running infectious fright or anything with decent mobility like Wraith or Spirit would have if the map was cut in half. The problem is that you can't comfortably move around the map unless you learnt the staircases positions and I get that's understandable for whoever has less than 10 games on this map, but still this doesn't make the map bad.

Now pallets, everyone is pretending this map is the first map to have both extremely unsafe pallets and multiple god pallets around it and I'm not sure why that is a valid point to ask for this map to be thrown out.

idk if I'm missing something apart from the map being considered a maze which is again in the eye of the beholder.

I'm gonna leave it here bud, you can try and keep making your point on your (plural) opinion based on factual not so factual evidence. I'm just fine giving a simple and short answer denying anytime these kind of threads arise so the devs or anyone reading this doesn't start believing in the illusion that everyone hates this map, but it's only that only the ones hating it voice their opinion and try their hardest to make it sound right.

This wasn't because I didn't like a map. It was because I experienced what I perceived to be an exploit (place survivors can reach but not the killer). Apparently killer can, but I'm not going to bother figuring it out during a live match.

The killer can and it's pretty intuitive to do since the rock you can climb upon has a lower side to it that makes it as if you we're getting up some stairs. Also refusing to figure it out is on you, won't lose the game over wasting a few seconds checking a rock. I wouldn't really call it an exploit, maybe a killer bug sided if you could actually neglect a pallet out of it.

The thing is with this rant / complaint, it's something that the majority of the community agrees on — Unlike others where it's usually a minority or even mix of both sides. You comparing a typical NOED discussion, where the majority of the community thinks it's fine has nothing to do with this thread where the majority of the community thinks something ISN'T fine. On one hand, there's not a problem and on the other, there's a problem.

And you say change? Please tell me how can I change? What am I missing that can make RCPD more bearable? All you say is memorize the map, but how do we even start that process? I believe you don't know and are just saying that just to say it at this point because you never attempted to rebuttal my points nor gave me helpful advice to memorizing the map.

Yeah also the majority of the community apparently hates SBMM too but this is a common belief by people who think SBMM can't be right, just as RPD can't be right. Most of the community won't ever voice their opinion because they don't care enough for this game to go into social media and state how they feel about it, yet they still will have an opinion on it as they're part of the playerbase. The fact that a lot of people rant about RPD, having that opinion as the most voiced one in forums and everywhere doesn't mean anything, because normally anyone that is fine with the map won't voice their own opinion because it's not required for nothing, since it's already alright.

Also the phrase "You say problem, I say change." refers to the game, not to you in any personal level. You have your own take on the map which I respect. Something I don't is believing that your opinion is right and overwrites others opinions because you believe an opinion can be objective.

I made this poll to gather more votes. I'm genuinely curious as to what the split is, at least on the Forums.

If you are so inclined, please tell me why you chose the answer that you did!

I wish mmr would work in this game but it most probably won't, which makes me sad they're trying to force its implementation. This might make the game unbearable for a few weeks before it gets pulled back, reducing considerably the active part of this playerbase.

I mean, you would think if there's a problem with the map, like an actual problem, that people wouldn't bring it up to the developer's attention? That doesn't sound right at all.

You say problem I say change. A lot of people concluded that new Gideons is a terribly confusing map with tons of unpredictable dead ends, they don't whine about it in a new post every day. A lot of people hate midwich as the hold W through corridors map and don't bring it into the devs. A lot of people are sickened by perks which have a point on powering you up on endgame, on giving you a free second chance or on ending a game if secondary objectives are ignored for too long and these are complained about everyday for working as intended, I don't see what would make this rant compared to other rants something objective having each and every other rant completely subjective, probably born out of a ######### game where they suffered the worst handling of whatever issue they're talking about.

This is a generalized rant for people that don't want to adjust to something new, something that might prove difficult, but it's still subjective, it's not an actual problem. It's a bunch of people handlng their opinions with points shared coincidentaly exactly to the words of this X streamer mad about this map because it doesn't adapt to the map design they've been dealing for the last 6 thousand hours and it's uncomfortable to play on and instead of admitting that, they will create points to try and comparatively cancel this map through other maps designs and how it doesn't fit this game.

It's all a shared opinion by a portion of the community, not a factual objective problem that the devs should work on to fix, like pallet stun bugs, game crashes or exploits to avoid being picked up.

Are you sure about this? That's not what happened to me yesterday- I was 60% on an unhook and got interrupted by Doctor's shock therapy.

I've also had the bar almost completely full and still had the unhook not go through if I go down before it's finished. If I have it, like, 95%+, then I'll get it regardless, but I definitely have not noticed your statement being true 😔😔

I play a lot of doctor and 50%ish unhooks always cancels the animation and drops the hook person onto the ground in the very same position as the unhooker, shortening their animation and giving them an advantage. Maybe it was a last patch bug but I had it happened quite a few times during that. This patch, since the event finished, I haven't played a lot so I couldn't happen to do it. Maybe it's just a killer pov thing and even though they're 50% unhook animation on my screen they might be a lot more through it due to desynch.

  • Yeah if you time it right you can actually get the unhook through that even with double discipline, it's just hard. If you complete half of the unhook animation only a grab can cancel the unhook, not a down, not doctors power, no nothing.

Passive: Each time your aura is revealed to the killer, the perk icon lights up for 3 seconds. This works for the entire duration of the match, regardless of tokens/state of the perk. The idea is to add more value to the perk, so you don't play with 3 perks for most of the match, if the killer has a heavy aura reading build(or just BBQ for that matter).

Active: press a button to activate the perk. After you activate it, it works just like it works now. You have 3 tokens and it blocks the next 3 aura readings. The reason is that some people may prefer to keep the 3 tokens for late-game when having your aura revealed to the killer is much more impactful than an early game. Others may have a different preference so everyone can activate the perk when they feel it is the right time. I suggest this because 3 tokens are basically nothing given how many aura reading perks the killer has, but just adding more tokens doesn't feel like the right move. Allowing survivors to activate the perk adds more depth and strategy.

Optional: add a way to replenish a few tokens. After your aura is revealed to the killer 2(or another number) times gain one more token, for a maximum of 3 tokens. Basically, after you consume the 3 you can get 3 more and that's it, then you can't get any more tokens. To replenish all 3 you'd need to have your aura revealed 3 * 2 = 6 times.

Given that you don't leave any scratchmarks for 10 seconds each activation it would be just a shorter but better perk that steps over what Lucky Break or Poised does, so if you take out the not leaving scratch marks which could be exploited to leave a situation where you're caught sneaking in a really bad position without any punishment or given circumstance which the perk rewards (e.g. Poised), you could actually add even more tokens to it and it would actually be a super niche perk that does something unique and again, doesn't step over what other perks already do.

I guess I sometimes get this, almost everytime I queue up into a game in a bad mood, planning to be a piece of sh*t and with the intent to make the game unfun and securing a win with a bs annoying build or just playing scummy with multiple slugs, patrolling hooks or whatnot.

Maybe it's almost the same situation but with a -try to make opposing players actually sad- purpose, I'm guessing, with you closing up the hatch right in front of a dropped survivor?

Look, he didn't say you or others can't voice opinions, I think you're just saying this because you just disagree with him.

I agree with @Coder, a map should be friendly, at least having some sort of pattern to it. Hawkin's Lab is the perfect example: Hallways with rooms adjacent to them, this is pretty simple to understand and loops are predictable. If you walk into a room, you're pretty much guaranteed to find a pallet and rooms with generators are indicated with doors struggling to open. These map mechanics are easy to understand and doesn't require extensive knowledge.

You reach RCPD: There's no pattern, just a maze with pallets scrambled wherever see fit. Players have no sense of direction, leading to some awful experiences for both roles. This map is incredibly huge, amplifying everything that makes this map terrible. Even if you managed to painfully memorize all pallet locations and generators, given the claustrophobic nature of this map, you still won't know for sure until you waste time check each and every location. Don't even bring up how unhealthy loops are designed — There's no sweet spot with their design, and the mind games are borderline nonexistent. No creativity at all.

However, after we give you plenty of reasons as to why RCPD isn't fit for DBD. Not have you once wanted to have an actual discussion, and just resorted to the classic, probably the most childish response:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/OTP9BIXJ8ZJX/screenshot-20210809-042902-chrome.jpg

I guess my response is as childish as calling anyone straight up disagreeing with you in the start of the thread a paid actor :) . Calm down.

You really don't need to get so heated over a map being difficult to learn. Just go in and play it and eventually you'll figure it out. I'm not even a RE2 andy and I still could figure out pallet spawns after a few games. Still I just refuse to go developing a discussion over a issue that has been annoyingly spammed in this forum for the last month and a half+, this making it bold of you to think I'm gonna read the entire thread giving me all your "plenty of reasons as to why RCPD isn't fit for DBD".

I feel it's fine and I have fun on it, figured the map out without playing the og game right after a few losses after they reenabled the map offerings. I get it's confusing for you guys but giving up so fast on learning the map and running into the forum whining over it and over with 50 different threads for the same thing, bumping again and again over every other possibly interesting post done in this forum is getting annoying already.

  • @Coder said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2413311#Comment_2413311

Exactly. I want to learn a good map. This is not a good map, that's the point.

    Cope.

The point is that your opinion is yours and my opinion is mine.

The map is pretty good, just learn it. If you don't like it it's your problem, a big part of the community hates the map, another big part doesn't give a sh*t, another big part actually likes it. Your point is that you just don't like it and want it to go away because you probably can't handle things you don't like, which is fair but don't give you any right to neglect others harmless opinions since you're freely stating yours in this forum, in the 500th post in this forum already leaking the floor because a really loud, not neccesarily big, portion of this community can't handle another closed map. This already happened with Midwich which is a lovely well done map.

  • because if you get hindered while walking (56%) and start sprinting (100%) your hindered status speed goes from 48% to 85% always, disregarding how much of a hinder is affecting you in the first place, so it always applies to your total base speed without calculating the hinder into the equation right until the end, and the instance of the hinder and speed boost come at the same time with Nemesis.

You could be confused about this if you ran into a dream snare and got hit while being hindered but it's still the same rule as if you were cycling between walking and running when you suffer the debuff.

  • It's a decent enough perk now though?

  • You should really run a replay program for when things like this happen. You need clear recording footage of what happened. Also try to check profiles before and after games so you can provide an SteamID you're sure about. Also you don't want to post other players nicknames or IDs in the forum. This should go to additional report information ( https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/requests/new ) if you could actually find the information you need to complete the report accurately.

  • @Leonardo1ita said:

With nemesis, contaminating gives you -20% hindered.

Now the question is, if you know how dbd percentages work: is it the resulting speed when RUNNING

    1. 4,0 + (50% from the 2 seconds speed burst - 20% hindred) m/s, being 5,2 m/s ?
    2. 6,0 m/s - 20%, being 4,8 m/s?

    4'8m/s.

  • You should probably change your replay program and instead upload to Youtube or Twitch, that looks terrible, given that you use filters it's even more headache inducing.

This is about hit validation, if the hit goes through in the killers screen the hit should down you unless the they're lag switching, which this killer wasn't and honestly dedicated servers fixed that a while ago. You either ran that game over 150ms, the killer didn't have a good connection to the server or both happened that game.

Also if you're gonna claim you've done this as well, provide some footage on both sides for it, don't just upload a 15fps clip with super bright filters to help you see things better because basegame isn't just good enough. That just looks like you got hit through a f*ckton of lag.

  • @dspaceman20 said:

I'm just curious about people's opinions on if the killer DC. Do you think it's fine or do you hate similar to survivors who DC?

Don't really care, can't keep going if they dc, if a survivor dc they're ######### their 3 other teammates and making the game possibly boring for the killer.

  • @Coder said:

Come on, you know it was a mistake, we get it, learn from it and move on.

I don't really have a massive issue with Dead Hard when playing killer, I find SB to be a stronger perk in general tbh as it has a lot less downsides than Dead Hard - you can use it whenever for example and don't need to be injured. Dead Hard when not injured against an insta down killer (or NOED) is effectively useless.

I also don't hold the argument that it rewards survivors for messing up, because most survivors who use Dead Hard for the distance don't actually mess up but know they're running Dead Hard so know they can get an extra speed boost to the pallet/window etc and to me, if they'd had another exhaustion perk (not including Head On in that) they'd have already made that distance anyway because they would have been ahead at the start of the chase.

Agree with this except when you end up making up for the distance of SB there's no liabilities to a good mind game. Playing against a dead hard might be believing you won a mindgame and mispositioning because you believe you got this to get robbed of it by a dead hard for distance to reach a god pallet and make it into another loop.

true but there shouldnt be anything wrong with wanting to find out for yourself how the game operates

Honestly in my own experience testing it in past times you're gonna have a hard time figuring out the exact times related to what the mod was talking about when mentioning those decay rates.

  • Then you should probably issue a ticket with your rig after verifying/reinstalling the game files. If the game isn't working for you don't try to go into games until you managed to try on a fix. If the game crashes a 3rd time I believe you get banned 1 hour which is more than enough to check on whatevers still ######### with your game after trying to fix it.

  • Are you trying to derank or try to get away with as many dodges as you can in a day? Lets not provide DC abusers this info.

  • Yeah and honestly it should be affected by unnerving presence, doctors power and huntress lullaby.

  • as a solo survivor: 2+ FL, keys and high ping

as a killer: 3+ toolboxes(if its 2 and a key and a map user i will usually get out too), 4 medkits, high ping and if i would ever check steam profiles if i see someone with 6k+ hours i would usually leave because i dont feel like facing someone that has 10 times my time in this game having that I feel I've been playing this game for ages.

You desperately wanted characters' appearance to change? Pretty weird priority, and sucks for those of us who mained characters and now they look worse.

Not desperately, I would rather balance changes or bugfixes but improving how characters look besides maybe Dwight and Jill, who is bugged, is something I gladly welcome. Y'all say the quality and appareance went to ######### when characters just don't look as if they were taken out of a dark niche animation B tier TV show. Nea before and after is an example of it, even if I hate the fact that they dolled her up so much, which was completely unnecesary, still feels like a big improvement.
