A technical question for hindered:

With nemesis, contaminating gives you -20% hindered.

Now the question is, if you know how dbd percentages work: is it the resulting speed when RUNNING

  1. 4,0 m/s + (50% from the 2 seconds speed burst - 20% hindred) m/s, being 5,2 m/s ?
  2. 6,0 m/s - 20%, being 4,8 m/s?

Comments

  • That's a good question. Feels like the first one

  • Same with sprint burst: if you use it, but get hindered, how fast do you go?

Maybe it's the second, because the "On hit Sprint" maybe sets a new value

    4'8m/s.

  • because if you get hindered while walking (56%) and start sprinting (100%) your hindered status speed goes from 48% to 85% always, disregarding how much of a hinder is affecting you in the first place, so it always applies to your total base speed without calculating the hinder into the equation right until the end, and the instance of the hinder and speed boost come at the same time with Nemesis.

You could be confused about this if you ran into a dream snare and got hit while being hindered but it's still the same rule as if you were cycling between walking and running when you suffer the debuff.

  • It's a pretty academic question, considering the Hindered effect lasts for 1/4th of a second. It is a vestigial hold-over from its original incarnation, where Contaminating hindered the survivor for an extended period, to make the initial tentacle hit not give survivors a full, free health state, before they decided to nerf the character pre-release.

  • For reference, the Clown's bottles Hinder for 15% and lasts for the entire duration of being in the cloud and for 2.5 seconds after leaving it (10x longer than Nemesis). And he's widely regarded as one of the worse killers.
