Do You Use DbD Reddit, Discord or Steam Forums?
When this forum shuts down next month will you be over there or on Twitter or elsewhere interacting with the community?
I hate all 3 of those platforms, so I know I won't be interacting with the DbD community except for the occasional Youtube comment.
It feels like they're telling me I am too old to play DbD. Maybe I am.

Has nothing to do with age, I am gen-z and in my opinion these platforms are terrible for nuanced discussion and are rife with misinformation and bad moderation.
Forums are nice due to having a better layout and being much more structured. This decision is 100% a cost thing.
Probably none of the above... It IS abit of a surprise that apparently the forums are the least used of the bunch though.
I absolutely despise reddit and discord. I'm not a fan of those apps Steam forums is just meh. I have no idea what I'm gonna use later
I don't use Discord, Reddit, or Twitter, I just scroll YouTube and read my chosen forums. This is likely going to result in me just caring about the game less tbh, seeing as I no longer have my chosen outlet to discuss it.
I'll check the Twitter for news and updates. That's it.
It may not seem like it from my number of posts, but I've been on the forums since 2018. I check this place nearly every day, lurking and occasionally posting when I feel like being funny or I'm running into an issue with bugs/the newsletter/etc. It's not much but this is the only platform where I engage with the Dead by Daylight community. Hell, it's the only site where I post publicly in general besides my friends' YouTube channels to boost their engagement.
I don't think I even fully grasp yet how much I'm going to miss this place, but it already really hurts.
Maybe it is a generational thing, but I too have no desire to move to Reddit or Discord. And nobody in their right mind is going to the Steam forums for an honest discussion. Besides a few comments on Youtube or Steam every now and then, I will most likely just stop engaging.
No and I won't start doing so either. I just never really liked Reddit's user experience and I despise bigger Discord servers personally. And Steam forums? Ever since old SPUF got shut down in a similar way I've never really used those for any game.
The DBD reddit is a complete cesspool of toxicity, which somehow isn't enough for many players so there are multiple splinter subreddits for how to be even more toxic. I remember when one of the CMs did a whole thing where they wanted to recognize "valuable people" with some small giveaway, and like five of the people they picked were known massive trolls, including a couple overt racist jerks.
Also, let's remember that the DBD reddit bans all mentions of bugs and issues with the game. Moderation also encourages and brags about griefing. It's not a place of light.
I feel exactly the same way! I check and read everything here every single day. I probably know you guys all more than you know me because I seriously read EVERYTHING. I only started finally feeling confident enough to begin posting myself within the last year and now this ðŸ˜
I don't even have a discord account nor use reddit, guess will keep my old habbit and watch videos on you tube from time to time.
No, I used reddit for the first time this month really for the Halloween game because Discord is absolutely NOT an acceptable place to try and force forum content, the platform isn't made for that. and Reddit… is worse. I don't really want to interact on Reddit and definitely not in discord, I'll just entirely move on to another game.
Also, Steam Forums are a joke.
I think I saw you saying you were new or newly returning to the game on another post, this is a VERY strong sign for you to quit while you're ahead… a game this big deleting its forums… extremely bizarre and bad look
it's definitely not too expensive for a company the size of BHVR. cutting the primary form of dedicated players gameplay discussions and shifting it to the absolute nightmare platforms of Discord and Reddit is actually insane. It's impossible to have a normal conversation in a community discord, just people trolling and talking about unrelated nonsense, Reddit is worse, it's just random sh-t post content.
No, all social media platforms are inherently awful and evil and want my data to sell. So i actively avoid them as much as possible.
every time I have ever used a community discord to find out any information it's nearly impossible… just straight up trolling and nonsense with a nearly impossible to return to chat style.
I used to use reddit but I have a bad habit of getting myself in trouble. I just can't be bothered anymore.

I'm on the Discord but don't really understand what is going on there.
I don't do Reddit, only on this forum because it makes the most sense for DBD focused conversations and information
Reddit is a killer main circle jerk. I like this community cause it gives both sides. But maybe Discord won't be so bad. There's also communities on Facebook which are pretty good.
I occasionally use Discord and Reddit, but I would never go to either for the sort of discussion that happens here.
So I am probably done with DBD community engagement.
discord is horrible, and not even just the DBD discord, i mean official discords in general, they're just unusable. tens of thousands of people and 99% of them talking about unrelated nonsense… discord wasnt designed to hold forumlike discussions and it can't support it in a meaningful way. there's no reasonable way to find old discussions either or look for old information, Discord is made for a state of "now" as in what's happening right now, and it's good for that… but its TERRIBLE for longevity of conversation.
Forums felt more focused on discussions of the game and feedback the devs may or may not get a small chance to read.
But discord and redit is just random spammed chat rooms that likely never get seen by the devs, like the chat spam whenever they make a livestream.
That's basically how I feel as well. With the amount of pointless mindless spam on discord, it is downright awful for discussion, and on the subreddit the mods remove discussion because it is "too frequently posted", so it ends up being just memes and ragebait being posted.
No. I may join the discord but I doubt I'll use it. Same with the Steam forum. I don't have any other social media accounts and won't make any either. They're not conducive to real discussions. It's just noise. But I guess noise is what we want now.
Twitter (and other similar social media) are announcement platforms, not places for discussion.
Reddit has always seemed like a place to drop quick questions, again not have discussions.
Discord is a place to have casual, quick chats between a small to medium sized group, again not having actual discussions.
Steam, I guess there is no reason it should be as bad as it is, but seems absurd to go there.

Probably will go for Reddit or Steam Forums. Hope the devs and CM interact here and there as they do on forums. It felt feedback here somewhat mattered.
Discord but i only post in one server, and it's not the official DBD one. The rest no, and I won't be starting.
I never posted a lot but I read the forums quite a bit.
I will be going to none of the above. I will figure someway to read patch notes but will not be going to any of those other outlets.
I used the official forums to engage in deep discussions with other users and post my own, as well as help share feedback to the devs. To me it is the perfect place for more series discussions about the game.
I used reddit to engage in community memes and give short thoughts and responses to things. I know the devs are on reddit and reading things, but I don't see it as a good place to post feedback for the devs to read or consider since so much is buried or ignored in favor of memes. reddit cannot replace the forums for me as such.
I absolutely refuse to treat discord like a forum. Discord is not designed to function as a forum in the slightest and in no way can replace the role of a forum adequately. I will not even consider going there.
I don't think Steam discussions are a good replacement either but it is certainly better alternative than discord.
these forums feel almost dead so it's not a big loss that they're being closed. the steam forums have more activity but i wouldn't recommend them. the discord seems pointless unless you're looking for a group.
i do use the subreddit a lot though and have had more than a few posts make it to the front page over the years. only thing that sucks is that outside of updates it's clear that there's very limited activity from BHVR there. sometimes when new content drops they suddenly start making appearances in comment sections and such but outside of that they are invisible.
Probably not. It's a shame. I enjoyed sharing my thoughts. I am really…really going to miss seeing everyone names and "Faces" (Profile Pics) on the forums. :(
One tin foil hat theory of mine is that "Official Forum" has a notion of deep discussion. Where the more Devoted players go.
So there are probably more "readers" then "posters" where as with reddit it's always a meme fest. And steam is something linked to the system most people play it on
Steam probably not. Last I've heard moderation will actively ban for less than what they did with Pulsar here. Haven't heard anything much about the reddit and oof discord. That's just begging to be filled with trolls.
I signed up for these forums because I liked the format. It was for DBD players on all platforms, not one specific platform. Also the community managers and BHVR were more involved with the forums and worked to keep the community here active and growing instead of pushing people to 3rd party platforms.
I'm on console so it's not worth it for me to use the steam forums.
DBD reddit has never interested me, the forums going away isn't going to change that.
BHVR previously handed the official DBD discord over to the community. When that discord was brought up they would say they no longer had an official DBD discord because it was community run. Then they changed their minds and decided it should be the official DBD discord again. I don't trust BHVR won't change their minds again so not going to bother with it.
It's interesting because what I remember from Reddit is that the more responses a comment on a topic gets, the harder it becomes to read. The formatting isn't helpful for hot topics. And Discord would require a lot of catch up reading. The server I'm in only has a small number of active users, yet when I hop on in the morning I sometimes have heaps of discussions to read through. It's time consuming. I just don't understand how those places have been determined to be more conducive to feedback gathering than a forum.
They haven't, they've been determined to be cost nothing and require next to zero effort. Move like this proves that bhvr don't give a damn about feedback gathering and by extension the actual opinions of their community.

Ive seen enough of the dbd reddit to say I wish to have no part in any of that.
Considering how many ppl play on console, trying to direct the playerbase to use the steam system seems kinda tone deaf. Most of my time on these forums has been through my phone... im not gonna download the steam app JUST to talk dbd.
I don't enjoy reddit that much, but i'll probably give discord and the steam forums a shot. I love this little community and i hope i see many of you again.💕
I'm on discord a lot but it's not really suited for in depth discussions and I have no desire to join the official server when I'm already in other DBD related servers with my friends.
I am active on the Discord way more than here, so nothing really changes for me.
I'll just go back to Steam. Most likely won't be as active.
