this is exactly why i stopped playing dbd. it's hard to be a "i care about people's fun" type in a game full of "your fun isn't my job and i will actively go out of my way to make you as miserable as possible" type mfs.
two of the biggest problems in this community is the "your fun isnt my responsibility" mentality, and the "its ok for me to treat people like dogshit because they're playing the same role as people who were toxic to me" mentality. dbd players complain about toxicity and then act completely toxic to people who did nothing to them, then act surprised when they return the energy, and the whole cycle keeps going. it never stops because it's always someone else's fault.
it got really old being punished because so many dbd players have an irrational hatred towards any and everyone playing the role of their opponent, so i just stopped playing. it gets so tiring just playing the game and everything you do is labeled as "toxic", therefore whatever vitriol people spew at you is justified. it's sad that with all the problems with this game and the devs, the community is what has ruined dbd, for me at least. the dbd community has never at any point been sunshine and rainbows, but man i swear it never used to be this horrible.

i was lurking the forums yesterday and clicked on that post and those images are legit burned into my mind. i only stayed on it long enough to flag it but it was so disgusting. second time I've seen a post on the forums with repulsive imagery and gore. i don't understand what people get out of doing things like that. back to being incredibly cautious with what posts i click on i guess.

I'm really sorry to hear that, everyone should have a home to come back to. i hope things get better for you and life looks up for you very soon. life is always changing, sometimes things get really bad, one terrible thing happens after the other, and it really does feel like the world is crumbling around you. it can leave you feeling hopeless, like it will always be this way, but things will change, life can get better again.
know that there are people in this world rooting for you that don't even know you personally. I'm wishing you the best of luck, though it doesn't do anything to change your situation, i hope with all my heart that you find yourself in a better place in life. please stay safe, and take good care of yourself

remind me, which side currently has 20 minute 2v8 queues? yeah let's go ahead and nerf survivors in 2v8, then you'll be complaining about queue times instead lol
survivors should be allowed to have criticisms without y'all treating it like a personal attack on killer players. legion and oni genuinely do have issues in this mode that are making some survivors not want to play it, that creates problems for both sides.
i really don't understand why people in this forum are so hostile to survivors and any criticisms or feedback they have. every survivor complaint is immediately met with "oh yeah well how about we nerf survivors huh how about that???" it's so goofy. you're complaining about what survivors have in this mode while complaining about them complaining about killers...the dbd community is really something.
btw there absolutely have been complaints about survivor classes in this mode and it's silly to act like there hasn't been. the reason there's not as many is because survivors need some kind of incentive to play this mode to keep queues down, good class powers are a way to give them that incentive. most killers got omega buffed in 2v8, why can't survivors have classes that actually do something? especially when they're the players we need more of?
people on the forums are always saying to play killer and maybe you'll understand...maybe it's time to try out some survivor yourself. you might start to understand the complaints if you'd bother to look from the other side's perspective.

2 charges is just silly. they nerfed the opacity already, why nerf the charges so hard too? why even introduce a new survivor item after so many requests, just to nerf it to where no one will use it?
what's funny is all the people that were complaining about fog vials, will now go back to complaining about survivors bringing toolboxes and medkits. there's even people in here saying the nerfs to fog vials still aren't enough. i just don't understand why when a new killer comes out and people claim it's OP, the response is to tell them to give it time, learn the counterplay, stop complaining and just adapt before calling for nerfs. but people complain about fog vials and they get a week before they're nerfed into the ground?
why was there no push to learn the counterplay for them before nerfing them? just, "oh this inconveniences me so they're literally uncounterable" and that's it? we couldn't even fix the bugs with fog vials first, then talk about nerfs after they're fixed? damn...i guess this will just be another item that piles up and collects dust in people's inventories :(
don't worry though guys, they hear your feedback and are passing it along to the team!! that's why they double nerfed fog vials immediately despite the bugs, because they value our feedback so much :))) just get rid of them at this point man. if they're useful in any sort of way, people will complain.

I was hoping it would become usable enough to help out with whole toolbox meta BNP part and gen rushing since i was praying for survivors to spend more time in chases and other objectives like that.

yeah that's something that a lot of people who are complaining don't seem to get…if survivors have other options for fun, useful items, they won't bring so many toolboxes and will have something else to do besides gens.
if we just nerf anything that's actually useful, people will keep going back to toolboxes and sitting on gens, because what else is there to do? fog vials might be "annoying" to some people, but there's plenty of things in dbd that could be considered annoying lol. oh well, all we can do is hope they'll remain usable :'D

they're supposed to be actually beneficial to survivors, that's the entire point of items so i never really understood a lot of the complaints people had. "i can't see well in the fog" yeah man thats kinda the point

"truthfully, no one should have been told about the killswitch" wow...I'm actually shocked that this is a real message. it's like they're trying to fully destroy their already tarnished reputation, and their relationship with the community all at once. the way they've handled this is so insane to me...all they had to do was killswitch streetwise.

it's so ridiculous that this apparently isn't killswitch worthy. they're so inconsistent on what they'll actually use the killswitch for…there doesn't seem to be any real guidelines on what justifies a killswitch, what's considered gamebreaking and what's not. they killswitched houndmaster and potential energy for being bugged before, but they didn't killswitch merciless storm, and now won't killswitch streetwise...what exactly is their logic when it comes to killswitching? their rules seem completely arbitrary and inconsistent.
bhvr needs to make it incredibly clear what they consider gamebreaking, and how they decide what's worthy of a killswitch. the killswitch was implemented to quickly disable things that were causing problems, bugs and exploits just like this...yet they seem completely hesitant to use it when they really need to. they've used the killswitch on much smaller, lesser known bugs, yet for stuff like this they're just like "well it's not gamebreaking, so it doesn't need to be killswitched".
if they don't see these things as gamebreaking and therefore not worthy of a killswitch, then they need to redefine what they consider gamebreaking entirely. they need to redefine what justifies a killswitch and what doesn't. whatever system they're going by currently doesn't make any sense, and it's really concerning to me how they're responding to community feedback lately.
the responses from Jocelyn (not blaming her specifically) are especially concerning considering just how much backlash the exploit with streetwise has brought. I don't understand how the backlash alone isn't enough to make them realize this is a HUGE problem for their players right now, even if the devs don't see it as gamebreaking. who cares if it's not "gamebreaking" by their own nonsensical standards??? people are frustrated, stressed and literally quitting the game over this, that should be enough to justify the killswitch. they are eroding the trust of their community more and more by allowing exploits like this in the first place, then refusing to take action against them.
this response basically just let exploiters know that bhvr is fine with them abusing streetwise...it's blatantly disrespectful to their players. all they have to do is disable a single perk, but instead they're remaining stubborn and making things so much worse. they need to killswitch streetwise immediately, not wait for a hotfix, not wait for the next patch, now. the longer they wait, the more trust and faith the community loses in the devs.
I don't know how they thought anything but a swift response of disabling the perk entirely was appropriate. it's sad that the devs inconsistency and incompetence are once again causing frustration and infighting within the community. exploiters are to blame as well, but the devs should've never allowed this to begin with, and at least should've dealt with it by now. this is just so disappointing.

yeah...i was really excited to try the fog vials, but i haven't used them at all yet because of the chase bug :( they seem fun but I don't wanna bug anyone's game, i really hope they get this sorted soon

the bugs are incredibly annoying and unfair to deal with, but it would be a complete PR disaster if bhvr killswitched a killer they just released, from a HIGHLY anticipated license. people would be asking for refunds left and right, it would completely piss off the many people, new players included, that spent money on this chapter. unfortunately we're just gonna have to deal with bugtrap for however long it takes the devs to fix him

I'm sorry you feel this way :( i understand your frustration. i know it's pretty basic advice, but when i start feeling annoyed with this game, like every match is just miserable and nothing seems to be going right...i just take a break from the game for awhile. for a couple days, a week, 2 weeks, maybe even a month or two, whatever!! sometimes just taking a break from dbd for a bit can help so much with this burnout. when i come back after a break, i often find myself enjoying the game even more than i did before.
i know this likely isn't what you want to hear, and taking a break doesn't fix the many unfair and broken aspects of this game...but there are times when i feel exactly how you do, and stepping away for a bit, maybe playing a different game or something, and coming back can make this game feel so much more fresh and enjoyable. at the very least this helps me, so i wanted to suggest it in hopes that it will help you too.
in any case i really hope you're able to enjoy this game again, it really sucks to start falling out of love with a game you've enjoyed for so long. i wish the best of luck to you :D

your brain is huge, somebody get this dude a position at bhvr bc Crow Mauler would be such a cool killer!!! there's so much potential for his power and addons and stuff, he's GENUINELY terrifying and has such a cool design too!! i don't know if they'd ever actually make a chapter for something like f&h, but i agree that he'd fit so well in dbd🙏
hard agree on the soundtrack too it's so unnerving and creepy, would be perfect for his terror radius/chase music :D

it's funny how half the people on the forums are claiming these changes will be survivor sided and the other half are saying it'll be killer sided. just shows that many of you actually have no clue what you're talking about, and are once again blowing things out of proportion before anything is actually implemented.
personally I'm just gonna wait and see what happens. either what they're planning works out and people like the update, or it doesn't work out and they have to do something different. at least they're trying, at least they're somewhat listening, and even if that's the bare minimum, it's still a good thing and they should be given a chance to improve things. immediately tweaking over what you're assuming is going to happen is likely to just discourage them from making any major changes out of fear of backlash.
you guys are comically dramatic and it's impossible to take these kind of posts seriously. please stop with the victim mentality guys...this goes for both killer and survivor mains. bhvr is not aiming to cater to one side or the other, they're making changes to hopefully make the game more enjoyable for the playerbase as a whole. to me, this update actually seems pretty balanced in terms of how many changes each side is getting.
like c'mon, do y'all actually think that they're prioritizing one side over the other in a game where they need people to play both sides? you really believe this video game company, with one title they can truly call a major success, is catering to one side over the other? really guys? if you seriously believe that, then you're so entrenched in the stupid tribalism of this community that you've actually lost touch with reality.
i absolutely understand not having any faith in bhvr to implement these changes in a balanced, or even fully functional way, but at least give them a chance before freaking out like this. y'all want the game to change and improve, yet when presented with change you shoot it down and immediately start with this "aghhhh dbd is being destroyed aaahh dbd is dying the devs are garbage!!! the sky is falling!!!! the end times are upon us!!!!!" bullshit. mfs do this every time there's some sort of change to dbd, for once just sit back and observe. they're not just gonna drop these changes out of the blue, there will be testing and a ptb. if it truly ends up being that bad…then we can resume the doomposting.

i still think about the match where my beloved teammates immediately DC'd one after the other after realizing we were against a Wesker. left with 3 bot teammates, i serenaded Wesker and we hunted down the bots one by one >:)) he gave me hatch at the end, but unfortunately I'm on xbox so i couldn't tell him thank you ;( if you're out there Wesky, i hope you're having a great v-day <3

I’m a huge fan of being the change you want to see. The above people have demonstrated a willingness to be that change while remaining their authentic selves. I see Dbd reflected in every single person listed and on this forum. These people will give you the best that they have to offer. Why not match that passion and be the change you want the dbd community to become? Why not? It can happen. They can help you get there.
I wanted to thank @For_The_People for being the first person from the forums that I’ve ever played Dbd with. He is a very sweet person who will give you his time of day in earnest if you need him to. He’s one of the prime examples of politeness in this community. Thank you for being a positive force in the community. 😊😊😊
Lastly I need to thank @solarjin1 . What can I say? When you meet a friend that gets you, you both just know it. Her courage to be funny and humorous are so infectious. She told me that the small pallet in rpd was the most op pallet. I was so naive of game knowledge that I believed her! LMAO! After that I realized that it was anything goes when it came to humor with her. I’m at my best when I can be silly. Solarjin1 is that friend who brings out the best in me. yeah its a legit strat, but so is me teabagging you to get you off of the baby meg you're tunnelling the hell out of at 5 gens. it's worked for me a few times before, to take the aggro off of my teammates by taunting the killer, they take it so personally that they usually follow me the rest of the game. even if i die, im helping my team, so its a legit strat that ill do if i have to. i dont tbag much at all unless in this situation, or ill give a quick bag in the exit gates if the killer was reallyyyyyyy really trying to BM me that match. sometimes it actually is a legit strat, sometimes survivors are just giving back the same energy you give them

yeah im a little disappointed too :( i was hoping they'd at least randomize items and addons, even if they excluded some of them it would've been cool to see. im still glad it's back, its just the same as last time...except the perks are currently bugged to only be tier 1...so that's new i guess

yes, he was born disfigured and his parents were ashamed of his appearance, ashamed of him and didn't want him...once they thought he was old enough to survive alone, they bricked him up in a room for years with only a tv to keep him company, feeding him old food through an opening in the wall. they wouldn't even call him by his name, only "boy"...he was abused by his parents and police officers and treated like he was worthless :( basically he was shunned his entire childhood and abused for being born deformed…

hillbilly :( i know hes not exactly an innocent angel or anything, but i feel so bad for him and how he was treated. his tome cutscenes are genuinely hard to watch...his entire life was just so horribly messed up, and even though his actions are inexcusable, i feel a lot of empathy for him.
honestly im not sure how exactly to end his suffering, other than literally just erasing his memories... after that i guess he could become a survivor or just lurk around the void idk :') im not entirely certain how to answer that one at the moment. what i do know is...i wanna give him a big ol hug, let him know he's not alone and be a good friend to him (im built different so he totally wont just kill me anyway trust me)

i hope you're doing well too!!!! my favorite map is midwich, simply because im a huge silent hill fan and i love the look of the map...the hidden chest in the clock tower is still so cool to me after all this time, and that body that falls out of the locker in that one room has scared me so many times!!
there's so many cool details and the atmosphere is just so creepy, it really makes the match feel more tense and well…more like a horror game! tbh i dont always enjoy actually *playing* on this map, sometimes i get a little disoriented, but im happy every time i get it, i know it'll be an interesting and spooky match :D

king chris back at it again ⁉️ so very sorry to tell you this, but they're not gonna remove the penalty, people would be dcing at every slight inconvenience…well, even more than they do now.
unfortunately, it seems you'll either have to actually play through the games you choose to load into, with the 4 other people who want to play as well, without having their match ruined by a quitter...or you can just eat the penalty and accept the consequences of your actions. a true shame...so unfair...sigh......

pinhead. literally the only killer i truly hate going against :') i dont even think he's op or anything the chain hunt is just so annoying... every pinhead match feels super slow and kinda miserable tbh. also i usually end up being the one that has to get the box a lot of the time and it sucks 💔
