I'm DCing myself as killer as soon as someone DC's to give hatch. That ######### ain't gonna fly.

Why on earth would you do that? You waste all the stuff you earned in the match and they still get their escape points, plus they get to keep their item and add ons. They also get the satisfaction of seeing you DC. Ever heard the saying, “don’t cut off your nose to spite your face”?

  • I feel bad for Otz, too. I feel bad for him that members of his community actually went and harassed another streamer because they dared to click a flashlight at him.

Was it rude? Yeah, and Otz was right that people should have a bit more class when they win. But people taking it further than that are rather pathetic. Everyone needs to keep in-game BM in perspective. We’ve all had it done to us and while it’s rude, it’s really not more than that and definitely not worth losing your cool over.

  • Upload the video to streamable and post the link. This is how I always do it and my reports get processed with no issues.

Watching the best players in the game play vs actually doing it yourself makes a load of difference. In order to get an M1, you have to be at a certain distance away from the survivor, this distance just so happens to be about the distance you need in order to stun the killer. If PH is doing this to you and he's very close you to you, you can just stun him, otherwise if he M1s you, he's not going to hit you.

You put your sword in the ground and ready up your power as you go round the loop. The survivor approaches the pallet. You wait briefly to see what they do, just out of stun range, denying them the opportunity to stun you. If they drop the pallet or try to camp it you hit them with your power. If they don’t drop the pallet and go for another loop you continue following them and close the gap before proceeding to M1 them.

No but there seems to be a bug where injury/running noises carry over to other animations. So if you're healed, your character will still moan for a second after, or if you run to a totem and immediately get on it after you'll be panting intermittently the entire time you're doing the totem.

The hilarious thing about the injured sounds bug is that it happens even if you have Iron Will. So you’ll be getting healed, totally silent, then as soon as you become healthy your character will do their injured “HURGH” for a moment and then go silent again. It’s pretty funny.

if you fake constantly you create a pattern, a pattern that good survivors can exploit.

How can they exploit it? There’s no real downside to faking the power and if they try to call your bluff by vaulting you just use the power. Fake it as much as you want, the survivors can’t really do anything about it either way. Unless you only fake and never actually use your power, but I’m not sure why anyone would actually do that.

  • I know that he doesnt have that much counterplay, but why is a killer called unfun if he cant be countered.

    Is this a serious question?

  • Why? If the match was boring with little killer interaction and I have the choice to either leave or stick around and try to save someone but possibly die in the process, I’ll usually take the second option. It’s more fun for the guy on the hook, it’s more fun for me, and it’s more fun for the killer. Everyone gets more bloodpoints, more emblems, and can use their items/perks/add ons/powers. It’s way more fun, even if I die.

Edit: Unless they’re face camping with gens still up, I won’t bother then and will just rush objective. Don’t want to reward brain dead camping.

  • I think that garage is in front of a sealed house so there wouldn’t be a gen inside. I might be wrong but the garages near gen houses don’t have the pallet loop there, they’re usually closed at the front. Unless you mean a gen in the street, but it would be pretty far from the totem in that case.

  • I don’t know, but I love Ghost Face’s jazz hands when he opens the locker hahaha.

Evidence A (First match in a long long time running any hex perks due to frustration with a Challenge, and of course this happens)

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/40MMQEWB3NVT/whyjolenewhy.jpg

That totem placement really isn’t too bad, it’s not near a gen and it’s not out in the open (no survivor would see it from a distance). It’s not hidden by any boxes or whatever but they’d only see it either while being chased there, or while looking for it.

  • Just play like normal and you’re guaranteed to get it eventually. By bringing moris and slugging for the 4K you’re probably making it harder for yourself, as ridiculous as that sounds.

You cant use that logic with bhvr for tge only reason they dont have that kind of logic the most recent example i can give you is the enduring nerf. They nerf enduring only because DS was a 3 second stun so they buff DS and nerf enduring instead of just buffing DS

Enduring wasn’t nerfed, the way the stun reduction was calculated got changed. It actually saves you a bit more time now even though the values are lower. It not protecting you from perk stuns was a nerf though, granted.

  • Yep, I do the same thing. Boot up the game, play some survivor to warm up, have godawful games where people get tunnel mori’d or can’t hit any skillchecks or leave me to die on hook despite my Kindred, realise I’m not having fun, switch to killer and have a blast until I get bored/tired and go do something else.

  • Anything that generalises a huge part of the player base. “All survivors are toxic!” “All killers are sweaty!” “All SWF are bully squads!” “All console players are bad!” And on and on and on and on.

They’re useless threads because it’s basically someone just shouting their opinion and not listening to anyone else, so they devolve into arguments and bickering. They’re totally pointless and they just annoy people and increase toxicity.

You can crouch up to an objective and work on it with a Hag trap there, why would torment be any different?

It is different, I remember trying to crouch over to a gen and working on it when PH was newly released and I got tormented. Might have been the PTB? Either way, it definitely worked that way because I remember I assumed it would work like Hag’s traps, like you said, and it didn’t.

  • Because interacting with an objective will make you get tormented (you’re no longer crouching), so the only way to avoid it would be to not do the thing. If you place trails down next to hooked survivors or at a three gen you would be guaranteed to get people tormented which could be a bit silly considering how strong the effect can be.

This has always been the case I believe (trails disappearing near objectives). Just place your trails down at an entry/exit point near the objective and you can get them with it anyway.

  • Add ons shouldn’t render perks useless. Period. Imagine if survivors had a blindness add on on keys that could stop the killer from seeing auras for 30 seconds if they hit that survivor. It’s totally stupid and people would be rightfully pissed off about it.

If exhaustion perks are too strong then they should all be re-balanced. Add ons to just remove the ability to use them for X seconds are horrible design and they penalise survivors for running certain perks, and put other killers who don’t have those add ons at a disadvantage.

  • @Talmeer said:

    Surprising list for me.

Had not thought that Pyramid Head would be so much accepted, after just a few months after release.

Seeing Pig, Clown and Plague down the list was on the other hand no surprise at all. Clown and Plague had never a happy live, compared to some other killers and Pig had got several nerfs.

Plague has always been fairly unpopular, but I think the fact that she’s currently bugged and dedicated servers rob her quite often hurts her pick rate a lot. I had to play her the other day for a daily and it wasn’t particularly fun. :/

And yep, Pig needs some love. She’s really popular in the fandom and fun to play but just lags behind in terms of power.

i am so surprised you find Deathslingers tbh.

i rarely ever see one, all the DS experience i really have is me playing AS him...

but hey therefore i see a pig pretty much every second game.

Maaan I see Deathslinger ALL the time. He’s one of my least favourites so I kind of wish I didn’t, but it is what it is.

    Well done!

    Thxx for doing that

At least someone is taking the time to make and document these observations.

I’d like multiple SOLO Survivor players to record how many times it’s a 4k 3k 2k 1K and when everyone escapes each trial over the course of 100 matches, and who the killers are each time. Then post results, preferably w pics, but if not, it’s okay.

Be interesting to have solid evidence of how dominant SWFs are vs surviving as a random

I’d love to do this, it’s just finding the motivation to keep track of everything. This was super easy since I literally just wrote “1: Ghost Face, 2: Nurse” etc etc in a text file. And if I forgot after the match, I’d remember after the next one and it was easy to remember the killers I’d seen. Maybe in the future, though!

  • @Seanzu said:

I remember a few years back when you'd only get Billys & Nurses.

Thank-god that several changes have come in to make the killer experience better, honestly.

Yeah, it's really nice that every killer was played, it at least keeps the matches interesting and fresh. All the reworks, buffs and nerfs have been really healthy for the game.

  • Because locking survivors would do nothing and serve no purpose. All survivors are mechanically the same. People would just last second switch their items instead of their whole character.

  • @PAN_tastic07 said:

Anytime I play as killer (If I want to rank up or even get a kill) have to keep playing Freddy and spirit. I'm a rank 5 and just can't seem to improve on any other killers because all the survivors I match with are at least rank 3. Does anyone have any advice?

My advice is simple: accept that while learning a new killer, you will lose matches. No shame in it and no reason to worry about it. You can’t expect to win every game when you’re trying to learn how to play a completely new killer power.

You just have to get comfortable with the idea of not winning. It’s honestly the only way you’ll learn, and by playing against high rank survivors you’ll learn pretty fast. And the better you get, the more often you’ll start to win.

The main problem is when they use it when sloppy butcher is in play. Which is most games nowadays. It's astounding how many players do that in red ranks. They're better off just throwing on Leader and getting on a gen. Or better, using dead hard which is basically a free health state.

The other day I watched multiple teammates Self Care through Sloppy, Dying Light and Thana against a Legion. This is what too much Self Care does to people’s brains.

Her clothes are also like that, I went against one with the new schoolgirl outfit and I could notice it as well

Do you have a screenshot? I really haven’t seen this at all so it’d be nice to know what it looks like.

  • Every Spirit I see has a cosmetic that covers her body so I can’t say I’ve noticed anything different. If I see a base skin Spirit I’ll keep an eye out for it.

  • I’ve stopped playing survivor outside of dailies or challenges to be honest. I posted a discussion a few days back that show the kinds of things I’m seeing almost every match - ebonies with NOED, Insidious campers, iri head Huntresses, etc. I’ve had 3 games back to back with ebony moris. The sweat is almost every game now so if I play, I’m playing killer instead because at least killer is fun.

  • The silly thing is, cheaters can just bypass the cap anyway if they want to.

You wrote "It’s because it’s the swamp." which lead me to the conclusion you are saying it only applies on Swamp. Just wanted to make that clear, since someone else might read it and see a Double Pallet on another Map and is wondering about it.

Yes, I said that because it happens often on the swamp maps.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Thats not a Swamp-only thing (even tho, Swamp is probably the weirdest Outdoor-Map when it comes to Tiles).

When the Map Generator spawned all the Tiles and placed a Pallet on the respective Tiles and the minimum amount of Pallets is not reached, double Pallets happen. This is on every Map.

This means that at one spot there is a double Pallet, but the Map has the fewest Pallets possible and there are most likely Deadzones in other areas.

I didn’t say it was a thing that only happens on the swamp? It’s just more common there in my experience because of its weird tiles.

Bless this man for speaking the truth. People like to overhype how difficult DBD is for some reason but it isn’t, really. You just need to memorise a lot of stuff but it’s not that hard to be good at it.

I love how he gets some wins, some losses and some draws and seems fairly content with it and happy to make good plays. The DBD community should take notes.

  • It’s because there isn’t much difference between rank 7 and rank 1. That’s a difference of 6 which is what the devs have said their matchmaking allows as leeway. I imagine that if they made it more strict, queue times would increase.

  • It’s because it’s the swamp. There’s a minimum number of pallets that must spawn on every map and since the swamp maps have unusual tiles with no jungle gyms, you sometimes get weird pallet spawns like this.

You guys are saying you play against console because you see a globe, yet you see a globe for some other pc players too... steam and microsoft pc players see globes for each other. Js

True, but before console crossplay was enabled I think I saw one Windows store player in six months. They’re pretty rare in my experience.

  • Yeah, this is a hacker. I’d file a ticket on the customer support site if you haven’t already.

Bit of an amateur though, only one survivor downed? I faced a Trapper a few days back that put four healthy survivors into the dying state with one attack like a true chad.

  • If it’s fun and you enjoy it. That’s it, that’s the only reason to play so if that isn’t the case, maybe it’s not the game for you anymore.

Lol I didn't know it was a thing, for some reason I'm seeing it used just recently. Yeah the name is very fitting.

Yeah I think it was popularised by Ayrun. It’s a good way to gauge a killer’s reactions and how they respond to unconventional plays I guess, I don’t really use it myself but I’ve had it used against me and it always makes me laugh.

  • I mean, it’s called the “dumb tech” for a reason.

  • @sad_killer_main said:

Honestly, I'll never understand this type of behaviour.

Why would I pay around 20€ just to do that? There are already games where you can do that, and you don't even have to pay.

Cookie clicker...you know, that type of stuff.

You’ll never understand what type of behaviour? Someone pushing their win condition because their opponent didn’t contest it? This is a PvP game and most people play it because they want to win against a human opponent. Whatever people will tell you about pips being a win or bp being a win, for every survivor player I’ve ever spoken to their goal is to escape and help their teammates to escape.

If the survivors all run in a straight line and let themselves get easily downed and killed would you say, “wow some killers really just want to hold W and M1 smh, I’ll never understand this behaviour” or would you accept that they play under the assumption that their opponents are actually trying to win and capable of doing so?

If a survivor sits on a gen for 80 seconds uncontested, and there’s nothing else for them to do that will help them to win, what do you expect them to do? Teabag messages to each other in morse code?

  • I can only see: “There was an error rendering this rich post”

  • Man I know this frustration on a spiritual level. I actually had to shut down the game yesterday because I was so supremely tilted after watching ALL THREE of my teammates Self Caring through Dying Light, Thanatophobia and Sloppy Butcher, and guess which killer it was. Lol.

The rank reset change they made all those months ago really did a number on solo queue. People question the devs’ kill rate stats but I’m surprised the average number of kills is not higher with some of the stuff I see from “red rank” survivors.

  • There are situations like this where you can’t really do anything, like a camping Leatherface. You should have just accepted your friend’s death and teabagged at the exit gates.

  • So you were playing in a SWF and ran an anti-totem perk and your survival rate was still 25%? Wow, sign me up.

  • I just spend the day doing something more relaxing, I’ll go for a walk or hang out with a friend or have a nap or a hot bath or something.

  • I’ve never seen anyone vault safely against PH, if you vault you get hit as far as I can tell. Do you have video of someone actually doing this?

  • I’ve reported three hackers via tickets on the site, and to be fair to the devs at least 2 of them were banned from what I can see on their Steam profiles (third is private). They do actually ban people for it if they get reported with evidence.

  • Because a grab puts someone in the dying state. Being grabbed off a gen is fair enough because it stems from a survivor mistake (not paying attention or being greedy), and grabbing from lockers makes sense because it’s a risk/reward decision to hide in a locker.

But grabbing a healthy survivor when they vault a pallet or window would be too strong, vaults are a requirement if the survivor wants to last more than 10 seconds in a chase. L/T walls would be a death sentence, for example. It would kill mind games and the dynamic feel of a good chase, the most efficient way to play would be to just run after the survivor until you were humping them and then grab them when they tried to vault. And for survivors the efficient way to play would be to run in a straight line and drop every pallet early, which both sides hate already.
