Anyone have any idea if Playstation also has a notification thing for if an action is taken against another person? I remember someone once sent me a message on there bustin' out that traditional homophobic slur nonstop for, like, a whole minute. Naturally, I reported them to Sony, but I never found out if anything ever came of that report.
Yep, they do. You get an update basically saying “the content you flagged broke our terms of service” or whatever. They don’t tell you if the person got banned but Sony is reasonably strict on that stuff.
-
I wasn't able to play vs PC killers because i turned off cross play and now it wont let me turn it back on
You turn it on and off from the main menu, before you select your role. If you try to switch it on/off while you have a character selected the option will be greyed out.
-
Personally I use map offerings when I want to prestige someone and use up all their stuff. Considering all the bloodpoints everyone got from the fourth anniversary event, it might just be something like that? People have a ton of offerings and so they’re using them more freely.

People have to be lying with these OoO threads. I almost never get a OoO SWF.
I don’t really know why anyone would bother to lie about it. I don’t see them all the time but they’re not that rare. I’ve had two Objects in my matches the last couple of days and lucky me, I was playing Trapper in both.
It’s probably affected by platform, region and the time you usually play as well.

No because hag is a 110% killer so holding M1 across the map to go where you have no traps is not avoidable unless you are in a certain position like literally in the bottom of the basement
Why would you go across the map to where you have no traps? Hag is an area defence killer, you set up an area of the map that the survivors have to enter and you keep it trapped. You make the survivors come to you, you don’t chase them around the map.
I’m gonna be honest, it sounds like you don’t really understand how to play Hag and are blaming DS for some reason.

Because Hag can't go for a massive slug, and when you hit someone with borrowed time, you're pretty much done. They sprint across the map and you can't do anything, no slug.
So the only thing you can do that doesn't make you lose the match is hitting the rescuer, maybe even with a good make your choice, and hook him. Problem: the guy saved now has 60 seconds to mend, heal, go straight to the hook, rescue while make your choice is on cooldown, and force you to slug him. And then he gets up with unbreakable 35% faster.
What? Hag is a great slugger. Get some slugs in your web and they’ll really struggle to get back up.
Hag can snowball so fast it’s crazy. If someone DSes you and then runs into a trap they’re dead. Same with Borrowed. This is why keeping traps down in key areas is so important. Instead of focusing on guarding hooks, you need to prioritise maintaining your web.

My god, when log in to this forum it's all killer threads crying like babies about everything.
Nerf DS, BT, Unbreakable, Dead Hard OP :) , OoO, Maps, Pallets, Gen speeds.
I get bored of those complaints too but Object really should just be deleted tbh.
Plus at least it’s a break from all the Deathslinger threads.
-
Why Hag? Hag is probably the killer where DS bothers me the least to be honest.

Ooo i do this on occasions. My favorite is 'Busty Santa'
Jane all decked out in chest grabbing perks, then amid doing gens and whatnot, i leave the other survivors cool presents. Livens up those days where i spend most of my time running after injured players with a procced We'll make it, slowly going to waste.
Oh that’s a fun one! I’ve done the same kind of build before but as Santa Claud. :D

Now don't take this negatively, this is a genuine question since im trying to take a small break from killer and since i don't have any friends who play DbD so i can't play SWF, so... what do you find fun about playing survivor or how can i make my survivor gameplay more fun?
I’m not a survivor main but one way to have fun is to play matches with a certain goal in mind. Sometimes I play the Dwight Knight - as Dwight I have to save the girls on my team at all costs, even if I die in the process. So I run altruism perks and will go down blocking hits or trying to get flashlight saves, and so on. I don’t throw the match or anything but I will sacrifice myself. Running meme builds can be fun (pebble is a good one), or just trying to pull off silly plays.

the killer is penalized for playing killer against swf
No they’re not, the match is potentially harder due to voice comms but there’s no mechanical difference against a SWF or a team of solos. Killers don’t do their objective any slower, which is the commonly requested SWF debuff.
-
Yeah this is really annoying. I had a Kate who was running next to me a couple of days ago and my hits were just going through her (this was before they enabled the server validation). I’ve had teleporting survivors as well. Hopefully they’re looking into ways to cut down on this kind of stuff.
-
I noticed this happened to me a couple of times yesterday, I’d join a lobby and have a ping of 100 when it’s usually about 30. I just dodged a couple of times until I got into a lobby with better ping and after a couple of matches it seemed to stop.
-
If you’re asking when the devs will give SWF some kind of penalty for being a SWF, then never. They don’t want people to feel penalised for playing as a group and I think that’s fair.
-
Anything that annoys or inconveniences me, or that helps the other side to win, should be nerfed!
-
Can you guys just stop with all this “PC players do this!” “Console players do that!” stuff?
Thanks.
-
I don’t believe so. Considering that this change could be game-breaking if it encounters hiccups or issues, though, I don’t blame them for testing them/rolling them out separately.
-
I haven’t really noticed any difference either side. I’ll hear the sound of the killer whiff their hit and then go down anyway, which is always enjoyable, and I haven’t been denied any hits as killer except on one person who was clearly lagging out and disappeared into thin air. But then I have good, consistent ping and this change was to address people with ######### connections or VPNs, so I guess it’s a good thing if I haven’t noticed much?
-
Survivors are not immune to mistakes. A survivor making a mistake can lead to them taking a hit, or going down, getting slugged, notifying the killer of their location, losing gen progress, feeding the killer their power/hex/etc and making the whole team exposed, and so on. A survivor mistake can snowball into a complete loss of the match.
While survivors have certain perks that grant them a second chance, saying that they’re “immune to mistakes” is pretty hyperbolic.

Bro I'm actually suprised the devs actually did it! Maybe I can get my motivation back!
Haha, I know how you feel. I’m nervous that this will make my killer experience worse but the flawless implementation of crossplay makes me hopeful that it will improve my survivor experience. Fingers crossed!

Gave up as expected they have neglected survivor for a couple months now the last meaningful patch was fixing a bug that should've been fixed a long time ago (window momentum).
Nope, they literally just announced it.
-
They probably couldn’t remember when the guy had been unhooked and were playing around DS. In all the stuff going on in a match it can be hard to judge whether someone will still have DS active or not (and plenty of people have been hit by DSes they expected to have expired already), so I wouldn’t assume malice. Some people just have bad memories or a poor sense of time.

There are no extra distance add-ons? If there were, Pigs would 100% be using them nonstop. Anyways, I have to agree that Shattered Syringe is bad in the same sense that Unrelenting is bad. If you are missing enough that you are getting "meaningful" value out of syringe, something is going wrong IMO.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1569560#Comment_1569560
I imagine an add-on rework would most likely split the add-ons closer down the middle. They can't ignore the ambush because it's an important part of her toolkit. They also can't ignore the RBTs because that's the whole reason Pig exists as a Killer in the first place.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1569610#Comment_1569610
IMO all of the Trap add-ons that inflict a status condition to anyone wearing a Trap are bad. They all encourage you to tunnel that Survivor, which negates the benefit of the RBT in the first place.
I agree with you about the other status effects (like why would I ever want a trapped survivor to bleed more?), but making a survivor blind doesn’t encourage you to tunnel them at all. The whole point of it is that it’s harder for them to engage in normal gameplay with a trap on so you can ignore them completely and focus on their productive teammates.

I feel like you aren't really looking at this clearly.
Hooking someone in the basement, instead of on a nearby hook, to you and scott, is a MISTAKE? That is so silly man. Its a not-optimal play, not a mistake. Expecting a killer to know exactly what an enemy team will do is impossible, a big reason being these devs dont even let you know you're fighting SWF because of reasons. Non-swf players would rush down basement very often and itd be easy to capitalize on that normally, but he wasnt fighting a normal team.
Tru3 did make a few actual mistakes in that game, like swinging against sprint burst and that 1 fake-out, but aside from that no other real mistakes were made.
The reason the basement hooks didn't work were because the saves were coordinated perfectly and remaining near shack didn't work.
What makes you think the team he was facing was a SWF? I saw one crossplay icon and one Kindred, and absolutely nothing to suggest SWF at all except Tru3 complaining about them being SWF for no reason.
-
People have covered most of the good ones, but I wanted to mention the Face Mask because I actually quite enjoy this add on and rarely see anyone talk about it. Most blindness add ons are basically useless, but with the way the head traps work, having someone with a trap completely unable to see auras can really mess with their ability to do things. Making someone unable to see hooked or slugged teammates, use aura reading perks, or feed information to their friends from the hook can disrupt and slow down any teams that aren’t a 4 man quite nicely. I usually use it with Last Will and try to get multiple survivors trapped at once.
-
Killer is the more difficult role because it’s the 1 in 1v4. If you make killer easy and stress free, and survivor the role that requires more time and constant attention, everyone will play killer and the game will die.
-
Yeah you’ll lose gens quickly if you vaguely proxy camp the basement without really committing to it. He sort of hovers around, not denying the unhook but not pressuring anywhere else. Indecisiveness cost him the game IMO (and the bug, but that’s not really a balance issue). Either camp or leave the area to find someone else, hovering around does absolutely nothing for you. Especially since one of them had Kindred - people can see you wandering around so they commit to their gens harder. No SWF required.

Freddy, for reasons everyone else has said. Huntress, again for reasons everyone else has said. And also Hillbilly, the number of times I’ve been hit by chainsaws around corners and through walls and already dropped pallets is too damn high.
-
His cooldown is reasonably short, and I think it’s justified by how easily the power could be used to cheese certain scenarios without it (three gens, exit gates, hook camping). If his cooldown was crippling then it would be worth revisiting, but I don’t feel like 14 seconds is bad at all.
-
Yeah, some people get serious tunnel vision, refuse to drop a chase and follow one guy for minutes at a time, then complain about gen rushing at the end. I’ve even had killers who camped hooks complain about gen rushing, lol. It’s like survivors who make bone headed plays and blame the fact that they died on camping/tunnelling. They just don’t want to admit that the reason they lost is because they played badly.

I haven't played pig yet honestly, but what I've read is that the pig is able to know which boxes will unlock the traps and that she can patrol them with that knnowledge when she knows somebody needs to go to it. Whether that knowledge is form an addon or from a passive trait, Idk since as I said I haven't used her and only got her for surveillance for now.
She has no idea which box will unlock a trap. It’s completely random and there’s no indication available for Pig or the survivors.

I’m trying to learn Demo currently and found Bronx’s guide quite useful: https://youtu.be/crw2LcaGNFY
It goes over the basics and has some good tips that I hadn’t considered, as well as showing examples of how to use his Shred at loops.

Everyone had inhumanly loud footsteps on the PTB. I kind of liked it, was super easy to find Blendette teammates.
-
I mean, moris are complete bs and he was kind of an ass for killing you that early, but you were rude and insulted him in post game chat and then had the nerve to report him for nothing?
This game can be tilting and I understand you were frustrated after that garbage match, but you need to grow up a bit, especially if you want to broadcast your gameplay.
-
I think it’s just a product of its time. They could easily buff tier 1 and Myers still wouldn’t be anywhere near OP. He’s so slow and his lunge range is pathetic. Make him 110% and have a better lunge in tier 1 and he’d be less bad, but far from overpowered. Good survivors would still have plenty of counterplay but you’d be a bit less crippled by your move speed in the early game.

gen rushing, i agree is really stupid to listen to but perks. ds, inbreakble bt, i could go on. theres so many crutch perks were as killers got noed at its best i guess but even that can be countered
Both sides will complain about stuff that is strong and/or annoying. Good luck getting people to shut up about opinions they have on a forum which exists solely to discuss opinions.

I’m sure survivor mains will stop complaining about killers as soon as killer mains stop complaining about gen rush/perks/items/exit gates/hatch/etc.

I'm aware of these changes. I don't really consider them a nerf, maybe a small one at most. I don't think they really changed how efficient she is. She is mostly the same. It might seem like i'm complaining like some survivor main but i'm actually not. I'm frustrated that nurse was nerfed because i feel as though spirit takes a fraction of the skill for the same reward.
Removing her collision during phase was a pretty massive change. Before they removed it, literally all you had to do to play her was use your power at a loop and run around until you bumped into the survivor. People complain about loops being a 50/50 against Spirit but before that change it was a 0/100 lmao.
I’d be extremely surprised if the changes they made didn’t drop her kill rate. In any case though, I’m not really trying to disagree that Spirit is too strong or anything, just disputing the idea that she wasn’t nerfed despite having a high kill rate. The changes they made were objectively nerfs.
-
You ask why Spirit hasn’t been nerfed despite overperforming in November 2019’s stats, but the simple answer is that she was nerfed.
In November, around the same time those stats came out, she had nerfs to remove her collision, add a window vault animation, reduce her post-phasing lunge, and several of her add ons were also changed. You can find the relevant patch notes here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/105387/patch-notes-3-4-0-ptb
Her kill rate back then was 75% but that was the Spirit who had a much stronger base kit. Freddy also had some add ons nerfed around the same time. So all of the killers you point out as having inflated kill rates have been tuned down since that time.
-
Lol, a bad Huntress won’t get kills even with Iri Head. They’re overpowered in the right hands but they still require you to hit your hatchets and not play like a rank 15.
-
@bingbongboi90 said:
Well the counter to bt is not tunneling. But what happens when the person with bt bodyblocks you for going to the unhooker hm? Where is the counterplay with that?
DS and bt might be for tunneling but are easily abused. Specially in coordinated teams.
Hit the BT guy and let him run off and mend somewhere, then continue chasing the unhooker? I mean that’s what I do but I run STBFL almost every game so it’s easy stacks for me.
-
I agree, new Ruin is much more oppressive. Being able to push survivors off gens (either directly or by indirect pressure) and have the gen regress more quickly and without the need for kicking is a really strong effect and can absolutely be the difference between a win and a loss.
I think if new Ruin were as ubiquitous as old Ruin, survivors would go hunting the totem at the start of the match like they used to. The fact that it’s underrated contributes to its strength because since it isn’t run all the time, people don’t run around and look for it and the totem tends to last a little longer and have a greater effect as a result.
-
Yep, I feel exactly the same! I understand why so many people use it but I just much prefer tracking and chasing perks. The fun part of playing killer for me is hunting and chasing, so I much prefer aggressive builds to slowdown builds.
