  • Because Ninja has tons of fans and viewers outside of the existing DBD player base, and they want to appeal to a potential new market?

  • Yeah, people really love to derail threads to say “but what about X?!” when it has absolutely nothing to do with what you were talking about.

It would be great if people could just let others vent and discuss a topic without always bringing up something else as some form of gotcha. If you want to complain about gen speeds, that has nothing to do with tunnelling and people should save it for a relevant thread. Same as if I want to complain about moris, I don’t give a ######### how anyone feels about keys. It’s irrelevant.

  • Yeah, my experiences were similar. Nothing like a killer with Ruin/Undying and an ebony mori to kick off a double BP event. :)

  • When you spawn into a match, you have no idea what kind of killer you’ll get. It could be a Pig with a meme build who wants to get some scares, or it could be an Insidious basement build Bubba. It could be Iri Head Huntress, or someone with 6000 hours in Nurse, or it could be a rank 15 with a level 10 Wraith with two perks. But you don’t know.

So you have to assume that the killer will try to kill you and will be good at it, because if you assume they’ll be bad and you get a good killer everyone will die. I’d rather do gens really fast and then have breathing room to go do totems and stuff, than waste time at the start and doom my team.

You also don’t know what your teammates will be like if you’re in solo queue, so you have to do the opposite of what I said above and assume that your team will be really bad and require carrying. It’s not like solo players set out to end the match as fast as possible, but if three of you are on separate gens it’s not like you know that. It just works out that way sometimes.

  • Spine Chill is absolutely fine the way it is.

  • I wouldn’t. None of us really know the internal structure, processes or ways of working at Behaviour so even if you put in the most vocal, passionate person in the world there’s no guarantee they’d get to change the things they’d want to change.

I don’t think Behaviour are doing the best job but I’m not naive enough to think it’s as simple as “just hire another X”.

The team try to get a variety of cosmetics out for all characters that we can do that for - obviously we have licensing restrictions to take into consideration as well.

Also, the joy of cosmetics is that they are optional and some might want dirty trousers whilst some want clean - so at least that option is there.

But thank you for your feedback :)

I don’t think anyone has an issue with the choice of dirty or clean trousers, but at nearly £4? Come on, it’s hardly surprising that people find it funny.

  • Object is fine in solo as long as you’re confident in your ability to extend a chase, and prepared for some killers to get really angry at you for running it and others to completely ignore your existence. I usually use it with an exhaustion perk, DS and Kindred the rare times I run it. Then if I get camped and tunnelled the damage is reduced a bit.

Gotta put respect on this gf for not playing sweaty

Yeah, respect a hacker for not using his hacks to instantly end the match. Lol.

  • I think one problem is that you learn how to play against Hag by playing as her, and very very few people play as her so they don’t understand how to play against her. She’s also very good at snowballing and punishing mistakes, so if you have even one or two guys on your team that don’t know what they’re doing against her you’re all pretty much dead. She’s very good at destroying pub teams if the person playing her is good.

Most Hags are really bad though in my experience and easy to win against even for people who aren’t too familiar with her power. Unfortunately, bad Hags usually all play in the same anti-fun way (camping hooks) so people never enjoy those matches, even if they escape.

Idk, I think Hag is mostly balanced but I understand why people don’t like her. I don’t think she should be reworked though.

  • No. I don’t think it’s OP on its own, but I do think it’s extremely anti-fun and should be reworked because it’s badly designed.

  • No, I don’t think there’s necessarily a difference in skill. I do think that consoles tend to have more casual players, because they’re much more accessible in many ways. (Note that I’m not using “casual” as an insult or anything, I would consider myself fairly casual and I think that the vast, vast majority of people who game are.)

The average PC player is probably the same, skill-wise, as the average console player. I do think there are more “serious” players on PC though. And there are also inbuilt advantages to playing on PC, like better overall performance, better frame rates, better controls, and the ability to customise the game somewhat (low graphics setting, Nvidia filters, stretched res, macros, etc.).

  • DS is fine and doesn’t need to be nerfed, in my opinion.

  • Because if you’re not in a 4 man with comms, if the camper gets someone to camp at 4 or 5 gens, it’s a lost game anyway. There’s not enough time to do all gens and all totems (because they always have NOED), plus gates. This is especially true if you have teammates who go to try and save, not realising someone is being camped.

If a basement Bubba gets someone early, you can probably only get one person out by rushing gens, and that’s not guaranteed anyway.

So you might as well try to save the guy, it’s the only chance at getting any fun out of the match if you can pull it off.

  • Save the Best for Last, Pyramid Head or Bubba.

  • This would only worsen the gap between solo and SWF and wouldn’t really address Object.

I run stuff like Kindred, Alert and Bond because aura reading allows me to play with a better level of coordination with my team. Blindness essentially removes those perks, but it does very little to a SWF who can just tell each other where they are/what’s happening.

It also wouldn’t address Object because you don’t know when someone will run it. You can’t build around Object the same way you can against, say, exhaustion perks (which exist in almost every match) or items (which you can see pre-game). You’d be wasting perks against SWF with no Object.

Huntress and Clown aren't bugged with this challenge guys! If you can play either of them you'll get it a hell of a lot faster than anyone else, even Leg and Doc. Trust me

Noooo my two worst killers :( I’ll probably get ######### for deviousness points on them even though they’re not bugged, lmao

I'm still trying to burn off 4th anni cakes on spirit so i play her here and there....she loads into the matches posing weird. maybe it's me or maybe she needs a doctor...

It’s every killer and some of them are especially funny. I played a Demo game the other day and he looks really silly with his arms reaching out like an old school horror movie zombie.

  • I play solo so if everyone made it to the gates I’ll do some victory teabags, head nods and points at my teammates. Sometimes you get all four survivors in a circle crouching, pointing and nodding at each other and it’s fairly funny. Not for the entire end game timer though tbf.

That or I need more WGLF stacks. Or there’s one guy still in the trial and I’m waiting to see if he needs help.

If they weren’t rude in game or post-game I’d assume they were just dicking around.

  • Untick “Mute Focus” in the options menu. :)

Because they themselves have said that. They have said that those numbers are not taking into account many different factors and do not paint a clear picture of things. It's not good data with regards to drawing conclusions about balance because it is not showing why things are the way they are. Only that they are what they are.

They have never said that their data is unreliable, they specifically said that it’s an average and therefore not good for drawing conclusions about the state of game balance from. Those are not the same thing.

In any case I’m gonna bow out of this conversation, it’s only going to frustrate me. Have a good one.

  • @TAG said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1702652#Comment_1702652

But if the data is unreliable, then you SHOULDN'T use it. It's not good data. It's not WORTHLESS, but it by itself without the context of multiple factors is not useful.

Why would you assume that it’s “bad data”, or unreliable? Do you know what bad data is? Something being an average and therefore a poor candidate for making statements about the state of the game is not the same as “bad data”. This is exactly what I was talking about, people who have no idea how data is actually analysed saying “but you can’t use this data, it’s bad!” No, it’s not. Its usefulness is limited but that’s not the same as being useless.

Edit: I see that you edited your comment while I was writing my reply, so the wording is different but my point stands.

I mean, I'm just gonna quote Peanits here (from an older post, to be fair):

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/866290#Comment_866290

So just to reiterate one last time, I really would not recommend drawing any conclusions from these stats. These are averages, not specific and incredibly detailed data that you should draw any conclusions from.

This is exactly what I was talking about with my comment, thank you for proving my point.

  • The serious gen rushers bring 3 BNPs and an Object and have the 3 BNPs split up on gens around the map, so Discordance wouldn’t help anyway. Believe me, I played against this last week and it was as exciting and interactive as it sounds. :D

Discordance is still a good perk though.

  • You’re wasting your time. People here see “don’t use these stats and immediately draw conclusions” and think that’s the same as saying “these stats cannot be used for anything and are completely meaningless”. They don’t understand that stats require some context and a desire to ask questions instead of a black and white “high/low number bad”. I mean look at how many people are saying the stats are garbage because Pig has a high kill rate, completely ignoring that there are other factors that affect kill rate besides their personal tier list.

For what it’s worth I agree, Freddy’s kit is too bloated and he deserves some small changes. Having a strong, mechanically simple killer is not a bad thing but he just has a little bit too much going for him.

  • @RocketPenguin said:

I agree that it should be nerfed and that the devs don't seem to understand why its not good for the game, but they said on average it doesnt increase winrate by much not that it has low playrate.

    He said both.

“So I went and took a look at the recent statistics on this thing, and it's not used very often, and the survivors that use it don’t have a particularly high escape rate.”

  • As someone who used to play PS4 and switched to PC, the PTB really isn’t that big of a deal and I no longer bother with it for more than the first hour it’s live (if that). For the amount of work it would require to give consoles access I really don’t think it’s worth it. They’re better off prioritising stuff that would actually have an impact on the live game imo.

  • Here’s Ethan’s word for word response in case anyone was curious:

Yeah. Uh, Object of Obsession is one of these... really thematic perks that works well with the killer and survivor it was released with, Myers and Strode. Um. So I went and took a look at the recent statistics on this thing, and it's not used very often, and the survivors that use it don’t have a particularly high escape rate. So it doesn’t seem like it's an amazingly effective perk. But like Lightborn it’s one of those ones that you pick something for it to do, and you make it do it well, and whether that results in a high escape rate or not is not as important as whether it fills a particular gameplay niche. And this thing does. And Object of Obsession paired with, oh god it's the other Strode perk, um… Sole Survivor. Paired with Sole Survivor it has a nice pairing effect with that and because those are both perks on the same character, and because they’re thematic for, uh, those two characters, Myers and Strode, it’s something that we’ll probably leave as it is, unless I see some statistics that lead me to believe there’s a deep problem with it. Because the complaints on the forum aren't that the thing is underpowered, it’s that it’s overpowered, and since my statistics tell me that people running it don’t escape that often, I’m inclined to think that it’s a perception issue more than an issue with the perk itself.

Handholding (noun) the provision of careful support or guidance to someone during a learning process or a period of change.

Guidance and information don't do anything? Please...

I should have been more specific. Yes, many perks in the game handhold. (See definition above.) Also, I'm not implying that handholding perks are inherently good or bad. Making decisions based on accurate information is a good thing, so I think everyone should use a detection perk. Personally, I don't have a problem with handholding perks being made worse. The new version of Discordance may be worse than before, but it still serves it's purpose well. I don't think we need a learning or teaching style of perk for every aspect of the game. This may be quite the assumption, but I don't think you'd want to find yourself in a situation where you can't play the game without a very specific perk. Eventually, you might want to have the option of riding your bike without training wheels.

You’re unironically calling Discordance a crutch perk, lol. I feel like you must be trolling so I’m gonna stop taking the bait now. Have a nice afternoon.

How are you supposed to Pipe by doing this in all matches?

I don’t do it in all matches. Most survivors don’t use DS aggressively in my experience and I usually leave the hook area anyway, so it’s not a common scenario for me.

  • If a survivor jumps into a locker in front of me when I clearly wasn’t chasing them, I just eat the DS and then tunnel them out of the game. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

  • @List_of_concerns said:

I wish you wouldn't have used "whataboutism" in the Title.

Discordance is a hand-holdy type of Perk, but I can't tell you the exact reason it was changed.

Survivors do make up the majority of players. The game was designed that way (4:1 ratio). In general, it does seem logical that survivors would be making more purchases. Also, survivors play in third person, so they can spend more time appreciating their cosmetics.

I wish I could give you a good reason as to why some complaints are seemingly ignored while others receive a noticeable amount of attention. I can't give you a good reason.

A “hand-holdy” type of perk? What does that mean, exactly? Discordance doesn’t actually do anything in itself, it only gives the killer information in certain circumstances. If that’s considered “hand-holdy” then so are the vast majority of perks in the game.

they did. Its now confirmed, no matter how annoying a killer is, no matter how annoying a survivor perk is. If it dosent have a certain high % on X. It will not be touched

LMAOOOOO. I’ve defended Behaviour’s questionable balancing decisions many times in the past but this is the last straw for me. Between this and the Halloween event I have absolutely no faith in Behaviour left.

    Hahahahahahaha.

Maybe read into it more, I explained the reason why OOO is not being nerfed and killers like Trapper will still suffer cause of it.

The devs just said on the QNA they have no plan to change OOO because survivors who runs it have a low escape rate. But in theory if they started to escape more games the devs would have to look into that perk

Are you kidding me? They didn’t actually say that did they?

  • I’d like to run this perk but I just don’t get enough survivors that body block hits for it to be worthwhile for me. Maybe if I patrolled hooks a lot, or during end game, but I don’t really want to build around those scenarios tbh.

I’m glad it’s working for you though and it was a deserved buff. It’s always nice to see people trying off-meta builds.

  • Not gonna lie, I’d love to face a team like this so I can practice whatever killer I’m playing. No one on gens and chance to practice a killer power over and over. And I run STBFL on M1 killers, easy stacks.

  • I miss it every day.

    Bring back the pointbag.

  • I’m pretty sure it’s bugged; I played several matches, including a 32k bp game, and my progresss is still stuck at like 1k total.

  • I really enjoy Trapper a lot, and would play him more if he were a bit stronger. His slow set up is just a bit too crippling on many maps.

  • @SunaIIanu said:

If I understood it correctly, you only get extra points for event gens/hooks if you threw the offering. Atleast for me those offerings are not really that common in the bloodweb, so your Killers might not care for the event hooks because they don't have offerings.

I just hooked a survivor on an event hook and didn’t use an offering, and I got some bp for it.

  • They’re being stingy with the petals just like everything else this Halloween. :)

    guys, * it's a ######### charm*

    that's it

what's the deal of making some people earn some exclusive charms through streamers?? geez, It's not a cosmetic or a character, it's a little symbol to put on your waist. yeah they're cool but saying that "fog whisperers already have auric cells, why do they have an exclusive charm as well" is like ???? really???

Is this better than just giving them to all players? no. But is it that outragious? In my opinion no.

Not being able to earn the cosmetics like the years before is the thing that sucks to me.

Exactly. It’s a ######### charm. So why make them limited use codes? Just put an expiry date/time on them so people who want to unlock their ######### charms have a chance to without being encouraged to not play the game.

  • This is a really dumb idea. I know people like to complain about DBD events but I genuinely don’t know what they’re thinking with this.

  • I’m looking forward to the event and add ons. Not happy if the cosmetics are all paid only, but I’m sure enough people will buy them to encourage Behaviour to keep making more and more stuff require cash to unlock.

  • Cool, thanks.

I like this idea, incentivise leaving the hook area and help lower mobility killers pressure the map more easily (who are always the ones most likely to hang around hooks anyway). I can’t wait to dash around as Hag :D

  • So at the start of the match and every time you hook a survivor, you have to rush before you can use your power again? Am I understanding that correctly?

Your argument would have more weight if you wouldn't have said

'You might as well ask why Deathslinger mains don't go and play the way some survivors demand every killer must be played so that survivors don't have to adapt'

If you think that survivors hate Deathslinger simply because they can’t adapt, why even make this thread? Your mind is made up. Nobody will convince you because you’re incapable of being convinced. You have the answer you think is right already. So no, you’re not “asking an honest question” at all.

  • Nobody wants to answer an “honest question” when you proceed to argue with everyone who answers it and agree with people who circlejerk about how everyone who disagrees with you is just incapable of adapting.

“Honest question: why do Deathslinger players enjoy playing him? If you play Deathslinger you’re just incapable of learning how to chase well as killer and want easy downs I guess. Just asking!”
