This might not reach anyone but I been playing DBD for over a year now so I’m not a veteran player on it but it has been a game that I been obsessed with since I started playing and I really enjoy it especially with friends BUT this new update is ridiculous like it basically toward Killers main. What is the point in using boom if someone has to heal you? What is the point in using a med kit and it’s perks if we can only use it ONCE? And now we have to unhook someone to use DH there was nothing wrong with that perk. Literally these changes make it impossible for survivors and not everyone who plays wants to do Gens some people ACTUALLY like looping/ chasing. This game is become a KILLER MAIN instead of what it’s purpose was. The community never asked for these changes yes some perks probably needed to be tweak but completely changing the healing process ya no. Nobody is gonna wanna play unless they main killer. I hope you can listen to the community and fix this.

you can disagree with dead hard's nerf, but can't say there was nothing wrong with it

I think the boon nerf is fine IF they buff its range

A medkit still is useful even if you can only use it once, I run brown medkits a lot and they are still gamechanging

Hate the 24 second heal tho, it already requires two survivors

  • I have this bug as well

    image.png

this is my game at 100% resolution, in low. Turning on auto adjust solves it but it forces you to have it on.

His lore isn't necessarily terrible, I just don't like the character concept. I find it silly and non-threatening. I mean again, you have a game full of poltergeists, witches, mutants, monsters, and famous slashers, and then you have some random obnoxious day-glo raver who throws knives. I find it dumb.

it adds variety, not every killer is going to be a faceless monster. The cool thing about dbd is that you can have a totally believable killer like legion and then have a teleporting corpse. Maybe he's a little too colorful? yeah, but besides that I think he and his lore are cool. His power is kinda boring but that's a gameplay issue not a character one. The killers don't have to be physically threatening. They're mindless monsters who want to kill you. It's good that they explore different tropes besides jason reskins

  • Yeah it's gonna be in this rift, but im still mad about it. It's a nice skin, no hate to the artist, but why do a Community contest for a skin to choose *character in hoodie* ?? Such a waste imo.

That and Haddonfield. Like ######### am I supposed to do as wraith against 900 god pallets and 900 windows?

?? theres 2 god pallets on that map, the one in the library and the one on the hallway that you cant get around. If I remember correctly all others you can play around and mindgame. The ones on The game are god pallets

  • First: I love the visual update. The orange/blue walls, the new stairs, fridge, the big open room, THE RATS etc.

But even when playing as survivor it's not that fun. You can't really loop in a lot of the areas, you just put the pallet down and run and there's like 3 windows

  • @Tsulan said:

Killers can´t body block the hook. So why should survivors be able to block a hook?

killers cant drop pallets, so why should survivors be able to do it?

And it already worked like that before this patch, idk if it has always been like that but it has been for a few months, most people simply don't know about it.

  • I dont know what kind of argument this is, it keeps popping up. One thing is the game being survivor/killer sided but ######### does it mean a patch being survivor sided??

patches are meant to update and fix things, since when do you need to have the same number of changes on both sides? like?? do you need to buff a survivor perk for every killer buff? do you have to nerf killers if you nerf survivors as well?

In a RPG if mages are weak they get buffed. you dont need to buff archers, barbarians and knights as well to compensate? how many posts of thee kind keep being made geez.

In one patch maybe some survivors perks are buffed, in another maybe killer's. You dont have to balance the changes to both sides in every patch.

That's why they should stop nerfing killer perks. Thanataphobia was great on the wraith.

But when tru3 consistently 4k w the wraith w thanataphobia, the devs decided to nerf it.

they dont nerf a eprk because one person is getting 4ks lmao

  • you dont use moris to counter keys, stop using this argument. Moris are a stupid mechanic and so are keys, both need to be changed. yes it was a good change, getting hooked once and dying because you got tunneled 2 minutes into the game without even being able to use DS/flashlight or pallet save is stupid and broken. So what if they are useless now (which they are not)?? it's a stupid offering that brought nothing good to the game

How is he the one ruining the game when the survivors he describes actively try to ruin his experience by not doing their objective?

Bad survivors not playing as well as you would want them to is not the same as trolling/throwing the game on purpose because you dont like them.

  • "im not having fun so im gonna ruin the game for the other 4 people until I like my team"

  • She sounds like a parrot it's so funny

  • You know that window on the 2nd floor already exists right? and the killer has to vault it because going around wastes more time, the door literally cuts access from one side like ????. geez...

You seem to be missing out on some of the key points and behaviour (punny, isnt it?) that this will encourage.

These Fog Whisperer codes are limited time only - which means you'll have A LOT of players disconnecting from matches to try and enter the codes before they're gone.

Add to this that you'll have a lot of people, on machines now struggling to play the updated graphics, trying to play Twitch streams ontop of their games, reducing their performance and effecting the other players. No to mention having two games overlapping in the background - how do you even play like that?

This doesnt even take into account people with OCD that feel compelled to unlock/buy everything in a game for completionist sake.

The Fog Whisperers comment merely highlights BHVRs hypocrisy - nobody is against Fog Whisperers in general.

This was just poorly thought and poorly executed. End of.

I do agree with the way the code works, it sould be given to someone directly, not whoever puts first, so I agree with the poorly executed.

Because earning in-game content for playing the game shouldn't be a complicated thing. I want to play DbD. Not support soulless money plugs.

charms being given to people on streams doesn't affect you ability to play dbd imo

  • guys, * it's a ######### charm*

    that's it

what's the deal of making some people earn some exclusive charms through streamers?? geez, It's not a cosmetic or a character, it's a little symbol to put on your waist. yeah they're cool but saying that "fog whisperers already have auric cells, why do they have an exclusive charm as well" is like ???? really???

Is this better than just giving them to all players? no. But is it that outragious? In my opinion no.

Not being able to earn the cosmetics like the years before is the thing that sucks to me.

So here is my ideia for the clown rework:

My attempt is to make him more fun to play as and against while making him more immersed in his clown theme:

I'm gonna list the changes and then explain why:

    - the cloud created by the bottle spreads way more and more easily, the cloud particles are higher above the ground.

    - The slow when you are in the cloud is reduced considerably but still forces slow vaults

    - the clown now gains the "undetectable" status effect when inside the clouds.

    - now has a new chase music with a circus melody theme that gets distorded (to the survivors) when they're inside the cloud

    - the clown's power now has a second effect called intoxication (simillar to the doctor's madness)

    - hitting a direct bottle hit gives the survivor 1 stack of intoxication

    - when the survivors leave the cloud, they gain a stack of intoxication (with a 30 second cooldown and "leaving the cloud" means not being in contact with the cloud 3 seconds after leaving one)

    - when the intoxication reaches 5 stacks, the stacks reset and in 10 seconds the survivor will pass out.

note: pass out means the survivor is still healthy or injured (they are downed but not in the dying state) but can be picked up by the killer, they can also "recover" to get back on their feet by themselves or by a teammate at a much quicker rate than the normal recover (about 15 seconds alone or 10 with a teammate).

The ideia is: in loops with walls (normal jungle gyms or the boat in the swamp for example) you'll throw 2 bottles and cover the entire loop with clouds, the slow being way less effective doesn't force pallet drops so easily (wich was really boring for survivors)

but combined with the bluriness and the fact that you don't have a red stain, mindgames are way easier. You now have 2 choices: try to hit the bottles directly (while they vault windows for example similar to huntress) and build up the stacks making the survivor pass out or get the 2 hits when you can.

"But if the slow is weak and being in the cloud is bad they'll just leave the loop!" that's where the intoxication comes in, leaving the cloud also gets you stacks so if you do that a lot you will go down.

It also gives the clown a bit of map pressure: you are chasing a survivor and see 2 others working on a gen, you throw a bottle and keep chasing the initial survivor, they both get stacks that might make future chases faster, or if they have 4 stacks they might run away and wait for the cloud to disapear so they won't go down.

Some survivors might pass out really far from you but you still get pressure because they have to recover from the ground (and therefore can't do gens).

It's more fun for the clown because his power now has different effects instead of just mindlessly throwing them on the ground to force pallets and it gives him a bit of map pressure now. He has a highwer skill ceilling (knowing when to go for the the hits or for the direct bottle throws).

It's more fun for the survivors because now you can actually play the loops but need pay way more attention because the cloud now hides the clown a lot better. It's also fun running to a teammate when you are about to pass out so they can pick you up.

Obviously i can't test this so maybe there are some parts that could be abused (that's why i gave the stacks for leaving a cloud a cooldown so the clown cant just throw random bottles and down you) and the numbers might be off (maybe more or less stacks to pass out, recovering times, cooldown).

There are also some features that i dont know if would be good or not (should you scream when passing out so the clown knows where you fell? or not? should the reloading time be bigger now? etc)

I tried this one but its pretty long and it might have some problems because they are not small tweaks, it's a rework doctor style

They made some maps slightly smaller while also making sure they kept every tile in the map and even added some. The changes on some maps aren't noticeable and other maps that were always and still are disgustingly large and survivor sided remain unchanged. Mothers dwelling, ormond, haddonfield.

The school maps are still a joke because they boarded up the school but made every other tile stronger.

The house of pain is still disgusting and still has a god pallet and a window on both iterations, while sometimes having all windows open.

The space between tiles is survivor favored and the tile spawns are often able to be strung together with minimal effort with zero mindgame potential for the killer due to the large gaps and holes in the walls.

thats the thing, "house of pain is still disgusting", yeah, but it used to have 2 pallets and now has one, it can spawn with some entraces closed (I haven't noticed how the windows spawn now tho).

it's not fixed but it's an improvement

  • @ThGameIsHardButSoAmI said:

why would oblivious be better? you can see the red stain when you are oblivious.

And because of the change, if you are working on a gen and see the yellow generator you either: go to that gen to counter the perk- not working on gens/slowdown or you ignore it and the killer is oblivious.

unless you were saying it's too strong in that case nevermind my argument

  • why would oblivious be better? you can see the red stain when you are oblivious.

And because of the change, if you are working on a gen and see the yellow generator you either: go to that gen to counter the perk- not working on gens/slowdown or you ignore it and the killer is oblivious.

  • How is this a nerf? If you ignore the perk it's stronger, because gens take longer, if you don't ignore it you have to heal which is a slowdown because you can't do gens??

medkits won't make a difference because if you had a medkit before the slowdown from thana on healing was barely noticeable anyway

Placebo changes at best. Again, the lst torunament hosted by that famous streamer whose name I can't remember showed once and for all that the game is essentially no different than when the Depip Squad experiment took place.

but thats a tournament, the best of the best tryharding to win, the tournament doesn't represent the other 99% of the game's population. Is the game balanced in the top tier of players in comms? no. If you are rank one are you going against those teams every game? no. Is the game completely balanced? no. But saying that nothing is getting done to improve it and that the devs love the survivors and thats why the game is survivor sided is wrong.

  • @Acromio said:

They're not out of touch, they know far too well what happens in their game. Still, that doesn't mean they're going to make changes according to that. To the contrary, I think the last three years have made it pretty clear that if they have to choose, they'll always prioritise the side that buys more cosmetic garbage/wig subscriptions (aka, survivors).

they reworked maps to be smaller and to get rid of infinites some patches ago, nerfed gen skillchecks and speed when working together, (while also working on space between tiles), the house of pain and preschool buildings were nerfed, tons of killer perks have been reworked to be better. Just because some problems like ds are getting ignored doesn't mean that the game isn't getting better with basically every patch (and of course there are some exceptions). One thing is saying DS is broken it needs to be nerfed (ok, fair), another is DeVs baLaNcE For tHe Side ThAT bUys #########. Not to mention a lot of killers are getting reworked to be viable (look at doctor, who used to be #########).

    Geez.

  • yeah, I still need to see more gameplay but it seems like it went from 100 to 0. Before it was super punishing and needed to be buffed, now it doesn't do almost anything which I still prefer.

What means that it was basically an add-on rework which was what people wanted so it's good i guess xD

  • These changes are exactly what he needed, imo. He just needs his useless add-ons reworked and hes probably good to go.

  • some of your frustations are normal but:

"Hiding is the only strategy survivors have, and yet they are punished for that."

    what?? it isn't

and if you get crows it means you are in the exact same spot for a looooot of time, you can move between trees and rocks, you dont have to stay still for like 3 mins.

And you don't have to run for the clocks everytime you fall asleep, spending half of the game running around chasing the clock is useless and if you ######### when you face freddy because you don't understand him, you are part of the problem and the reason other new players quit

  • still mad that the pink one is auric cells only ;-;

  • in my opinion, default nurse nurse was balanced and fun to play as and against. you needed to use line of sight, baits and other strategies to beat her. her add-ons were bullshit tho. The add-on rework + she appearing a split second earlier when she blinks would be enough. omega nurse would be gone, 3-4-5 blink nurse would be gone. the cooldown was a bit overkill

side note: her 3 blink add-on probably would not be super op (considering it is an iredescent) without the line of sight criteria because you would have to wait 9 seconds (i think) between blinks to be able to use 3 blinks

  • it should show the aura of people inside lockers instead of the scream

  • isn't breaking walls a way to balance maps while also making the gameplay more fun? Where's the problem here?

  • A blood texture that is apllied in every cosmetic would make them look rly bad, because not all prestige cosmetics are random drops of blood. For example the jeff's head prestige is really cool and it couldnt be possible with just a default texture on top

  • furtive chase should reduce the size of your red stain in a chase by 10% (maybe 5?) for each stack on top of the terror radius. And you shouldnt loose stacks when the obsession dies

  • I just lost it with bitter murmur and whispers being crutch perks

  • yeah i thought we would get lunar coins :/ wanted the jeff skin

  • Broken Key: press the secondary action while in a locker to lock yourself for 5 seconds. In that time the killer cannot pull you out. Consumes the key on use.

Too toxic?? xD maybe with head on or inner strength

  • I think it's cool that there will be 2 killers that are actually connected, specially with spirit (being the coolest artistic design in my opinion)

  • they wont even change hillbilly's chainsaw/huntress' hatchets which are way easier so I doubt it xd, but it would make plague's skin 10 times better

  • some random disconnects and getting immediatly trapped after placing the trap as trapper

  • @rd_dex said:

I think every event should have at least one skin that is exclusive for that event, and different skins that can be bought later. I like exclusive skins because it shows I was here during that time and I earned that didn't just spend 10 bucks on it.

exactly, you can have 5 outfits available to buy and then like a shirt for a survivor thats exclusive

  • i think the lunge attack is standart (?)

really good ruin counter, and it's a fun a perk, trying to sneak to get the stacks

Getting lost is why I don't like Lery's, despite playing this game since July Last year I still get confused with the map, meaning I have issues planning my chase route. I feel with Lery's it's great if you're a stealthy survivor but not if you're the sort of survivor that looks to get chased by the killer it isn't the best map to be placed on.

I've even died to the entity because I couldn't find the exit gates on Lery's.

Also as a killer I main Hillbilly, no explanation needed.

A tip for your Lery's problem: look around the map as if you were in a real hospital, there are a bunch of signs pointing to the exits and other important locations and many people seem to miss them, the Game also has some I think.

I dont see why they ever would, and if they eventually do, its just going to be them taking one of the oldest chapters, and adding it to the base purchase.

that would already be an upgrade, because although I wouldn't mind a free killer/survivor at all, I think this is more for new players that get kinda disapointed when they see how much they have to unlock

  • I would buff it to 70% and make it prevent other people's explosions as well on the same generator as you.
