It's not camping if your entire team decides to loop around your hook, blame them not me.

But serious question, do you consider camping if your entire team is trying to unhook you in front of me?? (the killer)

when I barely hooked a survivor, all were there and one tried looping in a pallet that was right there were the recently hooked survivor was.

Let me ask you a counter-question. Are you still on the map? If so, then its camping.

  • See the positive side: It was not Ormond :P

  • When 3 people sit together on a gen, all with the best toolboxes and Brand new parts, they still need about 20 Seconds. If it was much faster then that, they were hacking.

This challenge of healing 10 survivor s is making me so silly! I got my Empathy loaded and once they light up I go screaming purse first(medkit, hee hee), chases them all over the map.

I feel like some crazy Queen or old Granny with sweets in her purse. This challenge is giving me the giggles. ☺

We'll make it will make this challange much more easy for you ;)

This is just a comical reply. I get the point that you are trying to make here. We all aren't as good as we think we are and shouldn't base our decisions on another better players performance. But that is 150+ consecutive players (50 games * 3 kills min) that all died to Legion at high ranks. Those players didn't know who they were playing against. They were just average players (well if they were getting matched against rank 1 killer hopefully better than average). Sure, some of them might be goofing around or playing sub-optimally to finish challenges. But the vast majority were legitimately trying their best to escape. The point the OP is making is that if a player (any player) can play 50 consecutive games with Legion at rank 1 with no add ons and get at least 3 kills in each of those games then it isn't possible for the game to be as unbalanced against killers as many people on the forums would have you believe. Which is a legitimate point.

Hm. I basicly said the same with different words.

  • Good for Otz. Its not impossible to get even 100 wins and even 100+ 4Ks in a row with a mediocre killer. Check out Fungoose for example, he was at 117 4Ks with Plague, not even addons.

Maybe...just maybe killers are stronger than a lot of killer mains lead you to believe.

In the field of psychology, the Dunning–Kruger effect is a cognitive bias in which people with low ability at a task overestimate their ability. It is related to the cognitive bias of illusory superiority and comes from the inability of people to recognize their lack of ability.

    https://www.twitch.tv/videos/690695846?t=00h32m57s

Yes sick gen rushing, the first gen took them 3 minutes and all 4 get out vs the killer who has no counterplay according to you.

    https://www.twitch.tv/videos/691621132?t=00h05m09s

And another 4 ezcapes against the killer who has no counterplay. For a killer that doesn't have any counterplay, the first guy lasts almost 2mins in one chase.

Seriously? Is it somehow hard to understand (or read?) that there is a difference between escaping the game and have counterplay in a chase? Where in those videos is there any evidence of how to have counterplay against Spirit or Deathslinger... in a chase? Because they escaped? Wow, i can show you also 1000 videos about me doing that. But none provided any real counterplay in a chase against any of those.

The Legion had the exact same problem, nobody was complaining that there is no way to escape at trial, in fact he was weak, but his chase was braindead stupid with nothing you could really do as survivor but hoping he is bad. And that is the problem. Not that survivors can not escape but there is nothing effective they can do in a chase that really matters. All comes down to that the killer is playing not very well.

Read carefully now before you post the next 2 random videos where somebody escapes a killer... show me a video of someone who can counter a Deathslinger in a chase. Not by missing his shots, not by ######### up, but by serious counter the survivor achieved somehow.

So far i never did it and i never saw anybody doing it, at least not in a scenario where i was not totally counting on luck / bad play by the other side. Maybe you are the one who got something we all dont know. Surprise us.

  • Sounds like you got smacked by a pc killer one time to often. Increase your skill and lower your ego.

    Scott is simply wrong.

Deathslinger and Spirit have counterplay whether you like it or not, otherwise these killers would be picked with 100% pickrate in competitive or be banned. Surprise surprise that is not the case.

Yes they have counterplay. its called "do the ######### gens as fast as possible and get the hell out of here".

Counterplay in a chase? Lets solve this mystery by asking Youtube.

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

Where are those videos about how to run a Deathslinger? Anybody looped him for 5 gens? No? Not even a baby Slinger? The True Talent Video maybe? More a joke or clickbate then any souce that actually helps.

You find so many 5 gen loops against almost every killer, but not against Deathslinger. Or lets watch the "i outplayed Deathslinger " videos, there are some. Well.. their outplay is always he is missing easy shots.

Why are people claiming they have counterplay when those counterplays are always "he is missing". You got something better? Upload it, you will get my thumps up in a split second.

And about Scott. I never watched Scotts gameplay videos or streams to be honest, but his "real talk" series is great. He understand the game better then most here and is not biased towards one side which gives his opinion some value. You say he is wrong, but nobody so far has anything better to show and talk then "Deathslinger is missing" or other stuff that has nothing to do with the survivor actually outplaying him.

  • Definitly not. He does not need a nerf, he needs a complete rework. Devs probably know this, it will take some time.

I say next will be Spirit, again.

On the other side, Clown, Wraith and Pig will get small buffs very soon.

  • @thesuicidefox said:

Okay, I'm honestly tired of seeing this phrase when people talk about anything. It comes up a lot as an argument against Spirit or Deathslinger.

Look at the end of the day every killer and tactic has counter play. There were legit like 5 things in this game ever to not have counter play. Old Legion was one of them. Infinite loops (as in double window at cow tree with no bloodlust and no entity blocker) had no counter play. Heck even in the current game, yes, some stuff has little to no counter play. Ebony Mori. Keys.

But dear Jebus, every time someone tried to argue for a change to a killer they always bring up "no counter play". "Bro there is nothing you can do, you just lose, just D/C already". That's basically what I hear.

Spirit has counter play. Deathslinger has counter play. Now I don't like Deathslinger either, I think it's just a lame experience to get speared with no real way to fight back after that point. But that doesn't mean there is 0 counter play. Even as someone that hates Slinger I can acknowledge that there are ways to avoid getting shot. Tall wall loops work good. Dropping the pallet early generally helps. Janky movement can make it harder for the killer.

Oh yea, and hiding works. It works against Spirit too. "Hiding isn't counter play". Uh yes, it actually is. A 110 killer doesn't have the time to thoroughly search an area. If you never get found you never get caught. I've won games against many killers (Slingers and Spirits included) by just hiding. Yea, it's not exactly an exciting experience. It's boring, ESPECIALLY for killers (I've had people hide on me and it sucks), and it's a bit of a cheesey tactic but it's still a legit tactic at the end of the day. Hide near a gen, keep tapping it, force the 110 killer to search everywhere for you and give up pressure on the rest of the map. If everyone is doing this they will have to commit at some point because this is a battle of attrition and they will lose.

And I get people don't like these killers, again I hate Slinger. But come up with some original arguments and stop parroting a buzzword you heard. It's getting ridiculous.

In theory there is counterplay against keys: Kill the survivors before they finish gens and slug the last 2 survivors.

In theory there is counterplay against Mori: Dont let the killer catch you at all

In theory there is icounterplay against Legion1.0: Run into a field and hope he looses you (serious suggestions at that time)

Those counterplays of Legion 1.0, Moris and keys are about as reliable as those against Deathslinger/Spirit you named. Its a mixture of luck and unreliable or even unlreasitic scenarios.

Sure you can hide against a Spirit or Slinger and hope he or she does not find you, but then we are again at the same problem: You can only HOPE she does not find you, and you have little to no impact that she wont sniff out your hiding spot. On top of it against stridor and good headset, your hiding is even more pointless.

Or long walls... first of all, i disagree that long walls are even any serious counterplay against Deathslinger. Please show me some footage of anyone beeing able to run a good Deathslinger on a 4 Wall. And next to that, those spots are totally RNG. Its like saying "Lerys is a good counterplay against Nurse, so she is fine".

I think many people hate Spirit and Slinger because even a bad player can catch a much better and more experiecend player with ease. I also think that "no counterplay" is in fact the right term, as long as there is no real counterplay to it you have impact as survivor. RNG or killer who are not good are none of that.

I used to be nice and give people hatch almost every game that would normally be a 4k and 2 hook every one if I suspect noob team, but no more... and it's for the good of everyone. And the reason is that being nice puts you in lower rank (I was purple) and then your matches become easier and you have to be even nicer. Now that I stopped giving easier games to people, I moved to red rank and the situations when I feel bad about going too hard on inexperienced survivors are much more rare. Bottom line, for the sake of matchmaking, play to the best of your ability and stop being "nice".

The only times I'll continue being nice is when I know that there is difficult rift challenge and I suspect a survivor is trying to get one done or if I'm sure that letting one go will not result in a loss of pips.

I was expecting the usual "Toxic SWF Killer so underpowered" blabla BS but you made a good point!

I think you still can be nice by not camping or tunneling (unless you really have to). Thats even better then giving hatch.

  • Hillbilly is not as common anymore, but i bet he will have his redamption when people finally start to realise that he is still extremly powerful, especially with doom engravings. Beside instasaw he has not really changed.

  • Another amazing example i just experienced 5 minutes ago.

Was playing survivor last game, killer was Cannibal, we basicly had a 5 gen run (he had 300 hours....) no toxic, just looping. Eventually after the chase he lost me, needless to say he had a bad game. At the end i ran to him and pointed at a hook to give him a free kill. He downed me and acted like he was afk just to get another kill, which he almost succeeded. Even after that shady attempt, i did the same again and tried to give him the free kill. He downed me again and let me bleed on the ground till EGC was over.

It always goes both ways, pretty much equaly.

  • Shelter woods could need a building or something... like a cute little Witch House ;)

Coldwind got reworked recently. I love them all, as killer and survivor.

  • @EntitledMyersMain said:

From my experience, and watching streamers/content creators; when good killers run into baby survivors, the killer players often let the survivors escape, or at least let the last one get hatch.

Meanwhile, I have seen and gone against rank 1 survivors that when going against a bad killer, they will teabag in the middle of a chase, loop the killer for years, teabag at the gates, stay behind the killer the whole match, juke the killer into oblivion, farm their teammates, etc.

    This game is so weird

Hm, can not even remember back when i got hatch from a killer. But i remember somehow when i got facecamped the last time. Today... twice in a row.

Before you start, no i am not a bunny feng neither do i bring any items or i teabag. I just loop better then most survivor. I guess thats toxic so better punish me for that.

Just going to say it, but I don't enjoy playing against this Killer, I've never had a match with him where I had fun.

I enjoy going against God Nurses and Huntresses, but the Death Slinger just isn't fun to play against.

They usually have add ons for quick reload and spam shots at you, and even if you are able to break the chain, they can avoid the stun by taking a swing. It's just not a fun killer to play against for me.

I was just wondering if I was the only one who doesn't enjoy playing against him? I'm sure it's fun to play as him but right now, it isn't fun to play against him. I'd prefer being 4ked to a God Nurse than vsing him, honestly.

Beside the Killer main fraction, most people hate Deathslinger or at least dont enjoy him. Pyramid Head, Deathslinger and Spirit are pretty much the "Unfun Triforce" for survivors.

  • Gentime is indeed a problem at the start of the game. You are right when you say that you can not force them off gens at the same time if they are smart and split up at the beginning of the round.

But why do killer still win more often then they loose their games? (assuming that 2K is a draw, 1K loose and 3K+ a win).

I think because of 2 reasons:

    • The last 1-2 gens are very hard to complete if the killer plays well and the survivors are not a coordinated Team.
    • Survivor are alturistic and feed to much.

I am not tired to say that the best option to solve at least the genspeed problem is to slower gens at the beginning of the match and make repairspeed faster at the end of the game. Its a simple but effective concept, but killer mains just hear the term "fast" and hate the idea instantly. 😓

Hm what is the point of your attempt there? One of you is going to die for sure but most likely you both going to die if you try to safe against a clown with noed who is camping (unless he is super bad or friendly enough to let one go)

The Teammates left the game instantly to punish the Clown for bringing Noed. I would not do it, i would try to find noed and then go for the rescue, but i totally get why they did it. Let him have his 1K and dont feed into it. The reason why NOED is so popular and strong is that people feed into it even they almost have no chance.

    Dont feed into Noed.

  • The forum is very killer sided, that is a fact, but guess what.. if you are neutral and you play both sides more or less equally, you are one day survivor sided and one day killer sided for the commuity, and definitly always eintitled as hell :D Its totally hilarious 😂

Just ignore the obvious trolls and remember, your opinion is valid, as long as i share the same 🤗

About the posting you are referring: Even Devs (Peanuts for example) agree that those postings are justified, so i am pretty sure they are reworking (or at least try to find a contect) Deathslinger, Spirit, PH etc at some point. Be patient.

"Boring, oppressive, unfun" is the new "oplznerf".

Deathslinger is not op, but he is indeed boring to play against. Short, unintense and very unfun chase (which should be the complete opposite).

Nobody wants him to be nerfed, he actually might be in a good state about winrate, but people want some changes of his power, which gives counterplay. Give him mobility, nerf his chase potential, that would actually make him way more fun.

Boring is indeed the right word for deathslinger. You can also call him uninspired or just annoying but he is not op.

    @xEa

So does Deathslinger. Look behind you.

He has a 0.5 s firing time, plus it takes him 1.5s to actually aim, so that's a total of 1.10s for you to react or do something.

Deathslinger is also slowed down to 75% of his default movement speed.

I actually don't only see what I want to see. Can't say the same for you though.

The fact that you didn't even know that Deathslinger was slowed down while aiming baffles me as to why you would even bring it up as comparison. When anyone who actually understands his power KNOWS this.

    Thanks for your time. :)

PS. In that first clip she was already out, she made the choice to stay. I did the same thing in the gif I just posted 3 posts ago, only I dodged. :)

You can quickscope with Deathslinger. You can fake your ability. Thats it. File closed.

And dont tell me anything that i dont know this and that, its extremly unikely you know something about this game i dont ;)

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

    @xEa

Literally aiming at my body, but it's not a bodyshot. Gotcha.

I guess you are now going to say that when the shot actually connects with the survivor's body he doesn't miss, right? Because it "connected". What game are you playing? Seriously.

So when a Huntress misses do you also just not think that the survivor dodged it? That they just got lucky because the Huntress missed? LOL

You did say something worth answering to, and that is that he IS hard to master. Why is that irrelevant? A killer who has limited counterplay because he is literally not like more than half the roster when it comes to counterplay, that makes it irrelevant? In what way? It is relevant when you consider that he is walking with one shot at all times and doesn't have as many as Huntress or even someone like Pyramid Head. His reload takes 2.75 seconds to reload, it's not like he can use his power 100% of the time. His reload alone buys you time to find LoS blockers.

"Last but not least, Deathslinger is not hard to beat eventually. Spread out, do gens, lead the game as quickly as possible. Another reason many hate him so much."

What does this even mean? So are you saying he is easy to beat but just hate him anyway? 🤣

Huntress leaves you with a lot of counterplay. She has a windeup time, ergo you can react. Cant do that to a deathslinger. Almost no windup, quickscope, no reaction to that. Like you did in the video, you did a move and hoped it would work. If it would not have worked, we would now see a different video where you got lucky.

Then she is slowed when aiming and therefore loosing distance. Slinger is gaining distance because he can fake his ability and forced the survivor to do random moves.

Still Huntress is by many considered stronger because she is not just a braindead 1v1killer but can put pressure on multible people. But funny that nobody complains about her, even tho she might be stronger.

I really dont want to discuss with you anymore, you only see what you want to see which became clear with your last posting. I just leave you with that video timestamps. Always fun to watch these. Any they explain the problem without even words.

    @xEa

So was he "missing the shot" here too?

    https://media1.giphy.com/media/kf3loVU3kyXQNeZise/giphy.gif

Where I literally and purposely stood still and quickly moved away to show the friend that I was playing with how you dodge his shots? I guess now you're gonna tell me the game bugged because that's the only explanation that makes sense, when I knew what I was doing because he had PREVIOUSLY shot me from that same distance.

The clips I showed was where YES he missed because I mind-gamed him into thinking I wasn't going to move. In the first clip he even fakes it once and then actually shoots in that same direction he was aiming which I knew he would and that's why I moved in the reaction time that I did.

You are literally explaining how it didn't go down as if you were the one playing Zarina. I was there, I was the one looking behind I was the one looking for a queue of his harpoon animation, not you. He wouldn't have M1'd because he didn't have enough distance, hence why he went for the shot. I had already made him think I stayed at the previous loop when in fact I had left, therefore giving me enough distance.

I never claimed that he is counterable 100% of the time. Why should he? As I said before, my guess is you just don't like killers who can keep you on your toes.

What has this to do with missing or not? He tries to give a headshot for whatever reason, the survivor turns away. Is it now confirmed that the head in DbD has a small hitbox? Or that it is bugged? Try a bodyshot next time i guess. All you could possible prove with that example is that it is hard to hit a shot with deathslinger, which is irrelevant. Its not about how hard it is to play Deathslinger, but about his counterplay. He might be indeed a hard killer to master, but thats irrelevant.

I dont know why you think you mindgame him, he simply missed the shot. He does not need to read your patterns and adapt to it, thats the thing with deathslinger. He can simply react to what you do, but you as survivor, can not. In this example you talk about mindgame but it was just a mistake he did. Are we assuming now that mistakes are counterplay? His fault was that he followed some patterns you had before. Again, his mistake, totally irrelevant for "counterplay"

100% counterable? I say he is 0% counterable in a chase. Imagine a Deathslinger AI with Aimbot, guess how often he would miss? 0 times. All your mindgames you think off are only relying on his mistakes, not your plays.

Last but not least, Deathslinger is not hard to beat eventually. Spread out, do gens, lead the game as quickly as possible. Another reason many hate him so much.

    @xEa

Yeah nice of you to assume he was bad. I already said he wasn’t.

    1) I never said “hope and pray”.

    2) I guess according to you, we should just assume every killer who doesn’t land a hit is just bad at the game. There aren’t any real survivors who can make a killer miss. Gotcha.

My guess is you just don’t like juking killers who don’t M1. Or you can t hide behind a bush with.

It does not really matter if he or she is bad and how we define it.

The point is that your counterplay you showed us was him missing the shot. I repeat HIM MISSING THE SHOT. Not you dodging.

On top of that, he was not even forced to shoot you. He would have gained distance so quickly by just faking it that he would have m1d you no matter what.

There was no reaction to that shot, you just randomly moved to the right, thats it. It was luck, nothing more, nothing less.

EDIT: And thats why survivors HATE Deathslinger so much. Nobody wants to play verus a killer where your best counter is luck.

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

I know this is a hot topic that surrounds characters like Slinger, but honestly his power usage comes at a great cost, which is that if he messes up, he has to reload.

To demonstrate, I was playing a match just now where I would have gone down in a dead zone had it not been for me reading his fake shot, AND then being quick at turning with his actual shot.

    https://media1.giphy.com/media/kz1DTAR2HsC89zR9ZI/giphy.gif

I am not saying in certain situations he isn't almost too strong, but I think much of the complaints come from how misunderstood his power is. I rarely play as him as killer, but even I know that you can still dodge hits even when there are no LoS blockers.

    This is just my opinion.

Finally someone who knows whats going on. All you have to do is to hope and pray the Deathslinger is as bad as the one shown in the video and misses his shot. So easy! 200 IQ suggestion ty.

In total I only remember seeing one deathslinger hate thread. Plenty more for spirit though.

Survivors are complaining about slinger because Scott complained about him. Some people genuinely do not like slinger which is fine, but if Scott didn't complain then there wouldn't be even half of the slinger hate threads were seeing now. 100% survivors are taking advantage of this.

I'm actually surprised how they managed to make Scott's opinion look like fact when he clearly states that it's his opinion.

Do you have counter arguments to his claims? Let us know.

  • Depends on what the devs are planning.

If it is just a straight killer buff, then no. Killer already had enough buffs and are in very good state right now. If it is something that gives both side something, then maybe yes.

"survivor's wanna test their skills" Yeah imma go ahead and say that his logic flawed because it's really not testing your skill if you can mindlessly do something, that's just laziness and refusal to adapt to something new.

No, you should not feel hopeless. It also should not be torture or "killer is the power role so he has to be strong" bullpoop. Its about fairness in a chase / in a game, very simple and logic. I am tired to bring this up since it should be common sense, but apparentliy not for everybody. So i just leave you with an example. Look at a killer like billy or oni. they are strong but not unfair in a chase. They have high potential to outplay and to be outplayed.

And thats how it has to be.

This means three gens are gone, and 1 or 2 of the last two are on their way when the first victim dies. Bubba chases down one of the remaining three while the other two slam gens, and facecamps the new victim. The last two survs don't play around and just leave. Bubba- 2K
    3. ALTERNATIVE 2: If the survivors aren't smart, one or more of them play footsie with Bubba while he facecamps the first victim. This wastes time, and when the victim dies there are only a couple gens down (or if the survs are really dumb, maybe just one). With three survivors and 3-4 gens, Bubba can play "normally" and go for a 3K or 4K (and at a minimum, if somehow he's bad at finding people or keeps losing survivors during chases he facecamps whoever he manages to catch before all gens are down for a 2K).

    Is any of this wrong?

This can be applied to any killer. Imagine doing this as Nurse, it is even worse.

  • Playing against Rank 1 all day long, no matter how good or bad they are. So i dont think it is on again.

It is perfectly fine that I can run depip squads with swf's and beat 90% of killers with ease within 5-8 minutes every match and killers have to run specific builds and play specific ways to stand a chance...

I swear gen rush defenders just need to play killer vs good swfs and realize this game isn't balanced

Genrush indeed does not really exist in non competetive play. I have been genrushed 1 time in a non SWF training game and this was against a Tournament team. When people say "genrush" they actually dont mean genrush, they just mean they do the objective when they can.

Really. I had a match earlier as trapper I placed one trap and found my first survivor and 2 gens popped.

That is not genrush, that is survivors doing gens. Genrush is, when survivor have the "gens over friends" mentality. So they let people die on the hook just to rush gens, even they would be able to safe.

What to do against fast gens:

My method would be that survivors have to learn how to do generators. They start with 50% repair speed and gain +1% per second. So the first gens will take much more time to complete. To make it fair, survivors will be able to repair up to 110% or even 120% eventually.

  • Never seen that ever. Sounds like you play against beginners?

    Sorry no.

If you have NO fun doing any other part of the game as survivor, and that is your sole argument for why you should have a fairer chance during a chase, then you’re playing the wrong game.

That killer your up against is a player too. If no matter which killer is chosen the game were designed around survivors having it too easy during a chase, killers will just give up in droves, and you will have NO game to play at all.

Beside the chase whats the other fun part of DbD then? I hope you have something better then hiding or doing gens.

They’re a threat because your odds as survivor escaping the killer are MEANT to be low

Really? Who says that? You? I only heared about a 50/50 metric but thats it. Stop making random assumptions just because you want them to be that way. Maybe you play the wrong game.

Ohh let me use deja vu. Dark sense. And stand still so the killer can hook me. Don't do gens 'casue it's toxic. Don't blind the killer with flashlight. Don't heal myself.

Why are items are in the game if u cant' use them?

Why can't you play swf without being called toxic? You know there are people who bought the game to play with friends. The other day i got facecamped by an instadown hatchet huntress with a mori but I'm not complaining about it cause, moris are really good offerings and insta down hatchet is a really godd add-on. killer mains can u stop complaining about meta perks? Thank you for your attention.

Killer who complain about perks are usually bad, just ignore them.

With all the new Perks out now are there any good freddy builds that people have come up with? What is the best freddy build with or without add-ons?

    Discordance

    Thrilling Tremors or BBQ

    Pop

    Corrupt

Addons: Any. I would not use fake pallets but other then that, you cant go wrong. His slowdown Addons are my favourite tho. Also blindness are good, when you play against an OoO survivor.

  • Terrible killer.

Rites of Judgement forces you into situations where you are completly defenseless. Drop pallet = dead. Dont drop pallet = dead. He is simply way to fast while he is using Rites of Judgement and beeing able to use Punishment of the Damed all the time makes his ability just braindead. He can just nonstop fake it without any downside.

Sidenote: 60% vote "fun to verse" 😂 Killermains should not vote here, please.

  • Define challanging please.

If its about pips, Killer is more challanging.

Learning a role? Survivor is harder as a new player.

Mastering a role? Both pretty equal.

Some killer are harder to play then other killer.

Some killer are harder to learn then other killer.

For some killer its harder to win then for other killer.

Some maps are harder for survivor then for killer and some maps are harder for killer then for survivor.

Is it solo survivor or SWF?

It is literally impossible to answer this question in a satisfying way.
