Ok, so you didn't answer my question, do you think she is fine?
It doesn't matter that they stream, you're right, but a lot of the top killers do stream, you can see how well they play, not just some dude on the forums going
"well, every match i play is a 4 man 4 insta heal game and it's impossible to win".
Or
"I'm actually very good with nurse but still lose all my matches"
It certainly gives their opinions more validity when you see how often they 4K even against actual 4 mans.
I think some of her addons (omegablink) are dumb, but she is fine as a whole. My evidence: playing.
A huge number of survivors i play put down pallets- an automatic red flag that they are clueless against her. People are bad at playing against nurse, that doesn’t justify gutting her.

So you think nurse is fine? Good job, all the top killers actively talk about how broken she is.
But it's ok because the average killers on the forums that do nothing but beg for buffs for everything think she's fine.
I consistently kill everyone with her. My opinion holds just as much weight; a person streaming doesn’t make them better than me.

What you said makes absolutely 0 sense what so ever, but you go off, sis.
Literally every good killer in this game knows how ridiculous her addons are, a lot of them dont even play nurse because of how boring it is.
There's a reason why every killer on this forum goes "If you're having trouble just play nurse".
I'm sorry that you don't have the necessary hours to see how broken she is currently, she's been the best killer in the game ever since the game was added, and still is, and almost everything survivors have has been nerfed, not major nerfs but windows have been nerfed, pallets have been nerfed, perks have been nerfed, addons have been nerfed, loop shapes have been nerfed, all to balance the game out, you know who hasn't been touched? THE NURSE.
So ontop of all these survivors nerfs the stongest killer in the game hasn't been turned down to compensate, sure she used to move faster and had three blinks by default when she came out, but that was quickly changed and she's still on top.
If you don't have an issue with that you're just biased towards killer and not trying to protect balance but simply want your favourite killer to constantly decimate at rank 1.
Tl;DR - With all the survivor nerfs and nurse not being touched there is major issues with balance, if you don't see the issues with that then you're simply biased and want nurse to always be on top.
“If you don’t agree with me and the people in my echo chamber, you are biased.” Fixed.

"Just have to loop him."
Yeah, because trying to gain any distance after a pallet throw is easy when he breaks it faster than brutal strength.
Because you will always be next to a loop when he comes across the map and can basically m1 you at windows or pallets.
I've tried looping, and even when I do nothing but stick next to loops, there is literally only so much you can do when he might as well have permanent spirit fury on and windows are a death trap.
Actually, he has to know you are throwing the pallet down in order to actually get a speed boost in breaking the pallet. If he starts revving after it’s in front of him, then it takes just as long as kicking it. In other words, he read you if he is breaking the pallets that fast. You could have kept running/ looping and he would have wasted time by having to go through another loop.

BECAUSE...IM BORED!! Serioudly tho..nurse chases are so intense and fun..console doesn't even have that many good spirits much less nurses
Nurse is my main, and i’m on PS4. The framerate is fine, but the sensitivity makes things slightly more difficult (but still possible). Once that is adjusted, she will be almost the same as pc.

I know that this perk used to be very strong but with the last update it is just terrible, the killer puts me on the hook, someone unhooks me and I am getting tunneled (-10 sec of active decisive strike) the killer downs me and chases for other survivors or waits for others survivors to get close and heal me, (-40 sec of active decisive strike) the killer picks me up and here we go... NO DECISIVE STRIKE!!
Decisive is one of the best perks in the game.....

DS is useless now because most killers just wait out the timer just like Borrow Time, and Deliverance is only if you haven't been hooked and save someone. It's too rough in gameplay to run anything different when Killer meta is too strong for a average survivor.
It’s definitely not useless LOL. Even if the killer runs out the timer, that’s still a ton of time wasted and, if the team is good, that means that the killer loses a gen.

Looping is annoying but it’s not an exploit, just poor design/RNG.

That would be objectively false. Downing and hooking survivors is something every killer can do.
Yea but there is no comparison between the time taken to down with a killer like wraith or pig vs spirit or nurse. M1 killers down people too slow to generate strong pressure.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
OP is missing the entire point of Ruin. It's not meant to last more than a minute or two. It's meant to give you time to build your pressure and help make sure you don't lose the game in the first 60 seconds. The game is usually over if 2 gens pop before your first hook. No amount of gen pressure or map pressure will change the fact that most pallets are safe, and you're mostly at the survivor's mercy if they play conservative at pallets early and don't make a mistake. The games usually last about 5 minutes when the killer doesn't use Ruin against the SWF group I play with. The game just isn't long enough for them to do anything. Ruin at least makes one of us get off a gen.
Yea from the sound of things, the devs also don’t understand the point of Ruin.
-
Right.... and waste 1 minute. That’s one gen done or near done. Either way, decisive does damage. At least with the old DS, there was a legitimate counter through juggling. Now it just dominates. It’s no coincidence that people run it more now than they used to.

I'll have to meet this group that is insanely coordinated, yet simultaneously incapable of finding a totem or bringing a single map or Small Game. They sound like an interesting bunch.
Read my other post. They will eventually find ruin, but that small amount of time can be the difference between winning and losing. That’s the purpose of the perk.

Just because you play survivor doesn't make you automatically unbiased.
It also doesn’t make me a hardcore killer main lol. I see the game through both perspectives. Survivor is incredibly easy compared to killer. I have limited juking ability as survivor but since i know the loops and tiles, I can abuse them and waste a ton of the killer’s time. And that’s just basic survivor; add perks like adrenaline and dstrike and we reach crazy levels of OP.

Adapted as in removing a perk (self care) and deal with it to be injured most of the time. Nice mental gymnastics you are doing, hardcore killer main or just newbie?
Rank 1 survivor and killer, actually. Adrenaline is obviously busted, especially in a group.

Statement Simply isn't true.
I haven been r1 every month since release. Some games I do lose and only get 2 or 3 hooks. These games I alway make a serious mistake losing all pressure or am simply outplayed.
Playing from a disadvantage is what makes you a better player. Always playing from an advantage lacks competitive challenge. Simply saying something is unwinnable because you may be at a disadvantage will never help you improve.
Well first of all, i am consistently rank 1, so although I always have some thing i can get better at, I don’t need the advice. Second, Ruin isn’t a gigantic advantage: it levels the playing field since gens go too fast without it.
@Carpemortum said:

In this overly hyped hypothetical scenario, the coordinated group would likely find or power through ruin with coordination anyway.
Nah, Ruin does its job even if it only buys you 30 seconds to a minute. That can be the difference between gens getting done and everyone escaping vs getting 3-4k.
-
The problem is that you can run into efficient swf, especially during reset. Ruin is essential because no amount of pressure will stop gens against these groups.

Btw Decisive and/or adrenaline should be the next thing nerfed. It’s pretty telling that decisive is meta on pretty much every competent teams. It can totally lose the game for the killer. Adrenaline is the equivalent of noed, but it can’t be disabled.

For the killers saying that the game is survivor sided, this is a developer of the game telling you that at rank 1 trapper has a 59.73% kill rate.
Do you still think killer is not the power role?
This data is flawed, the devs have already commented on it. And yes, survivors are the power role.

So does being able to attack the killer, but he keeps coming back. Such as Michael being shot, Jason attacked with an axe, etc. That would not be good in DBD though. Can you imagine if David could pick up a wrench and beat the snot out of Legion, stunning them for 30 seconds? No thank you.
All I'm saying is that we have to let go of some of the horror tropes for the sake of gameplay.
I agree but DBD clearly tries to make the killer appear powerful and the survivors helpless. Hearing footsteps fits that narrative.

The common sense argument does not apply. If so, then why can't David, Tap, or Jeff just beat the tar out of those wussy little Legion kids? For that matter, how can Legion just throw 280 lbs of Jeff on their shoulder with one hand. Can't argue that they have some sort of enhanced strength because they would just blast through pallets unhindered. I mean, David is a fighter, but runs from a tiny girl with a tiny knife or an asthmatic clown with a letter opener?
No, the reason common sense has to be suspended is for balance and game play. Can't have the killer getting pummeled by survivors due to being a lot smaller and armed with in impractical knife. Just like you can't hear everything you should or there would be zero stealth play at all (stealth is already nerfed with all the aura perks).
Obviously some gameplay conceits have to be made- amanda picking up Jeff, movement speed in general- but this is supposed to be a horror game. Making too much noise while hiding or sneaking is a classic horror trope that feels right in the game.

in terms of counter play: read the perk description again, especially the last point. there are literally 3 counterplays to this perk running around the map, waiting for you to hook them.
now, lets go through your scenario:
the first thing that came einto my mind was "that is very unlikely to happen", since you not only have to lose your first target, but also have been playing for over a minute without a new hook and then happen to find the one guy that just has been on the hook.
but lets assume that has happened: you can always just slug them and go for someone else or take the DS like a pro and redown them. hitting the DS still deactivates the perk (sory if that hasnt been clear, ill edit the main post). honestly, i'd say ignore that dude / slug them and search someone else. it isnt too hard to do so, especially with tracking perks (BBQ would basically counter the perk now by showing you a new target to go for). because technically speaking you kinda tunneled there: you hooked the same guy twice without hooking someone else.
the perks idea is to punish you for going for the person that has just been hooked, so i dont really see the problem there. its working just fine.
Except that slugging is a lousy counter, especially against people on comms. They recover and then get up, unless you literally stand on them, which means you are probably losing at least one gen.

It's a texture-swap. Anyone can mod it into the game in minutes, it's just doing so might trigger a VAC ban.
The devs have made far more drastic changes in the span of a week.
They’re also working on hundreds of other things that have more priority... like the game functioning lol.

It took BHVR 18 months to address flashlights blinding people IRL. It was solved with a simple texture-swap.
That’s just it, nothing is simple. Every change has to go through a ton of testing and approvals.
-
I know it’s funny to say, but the devs being bad at the game is not a blow up, at all. A dev’s responsibility is to make sure the game works as it is supposed to and to create and support content. They don’t have time to solely play the game and become gods at it.
I have a friend who works at Netherrealm studios and it is the same thing there. Balancing is second to supporting the game’s functionality.

If Billy is easily loopable, how is he even considered one of the best in the game. Spirit has a higher skill cap, but she's also far more exploitable than Billy is.
She has god tier mindgames? You can simply abandon the loop she's mindgaming you at. You force out one use of her power and she has to wait to recharge it. Billy meanwhile has a power with no cooldown that applies superior map pressure. Only thing Spirit has is superior chase potential and that's if she secures her power
Abandoning the loop is actually good for spirit. She will just follow the scratch marks and if she wants to go easy on her phase, end it. Now you are away from the loop and even though base spirit speed is 110, she can still walk you down.

Hearing a survivor's footsteps will negate any stealth. Hiding behind a tree means nothing if the killer can hear you walk away. Defeats the purpose of stealth.
Let me extend it, if YOU yourself were hiding against a REAL killer, you would walk around as quiet as possible so the killer can not hear you. Have you ever considered that all these survivors in the game are doing that exact same thing?
If I had to meet you half way, possibly make the running audio louder or particular environment triggers an audio queue. BUT the killer already has tons of information like scratch marks, trail of bloods, breathing, grunting, even perks help on hunting etc.
well it doesn’t matter how soft you walk, moving through tall grass would make noise. And yea not being able to hear running as killer is ridiculous.
-
@MrPeterPFL said:

Can you explain to me how a survivor can be stealthy if a killer can hear a their footsteps?
Scenario: Trapper is coming towards me, I'm behind a tree, Trapper walks past, I walk around a tree, Trapper hears my footsteps and turns around......
Again, moving your feet makes sound. I have no problem being stealthy as survivor, you just need to start hiding as soon as he approaches.

You cannot loop the Nurse, because she counters looping 100% all you can do against her is try a few jukes which only work on baby Nurses or try to lose her by using LoS blockers. I won't discuss it with you any further because it seems it is not me being bad against the Nurse but you lacking basic info in that department.
Nah, you’re just bad lol.

@woundcowboy I have 1000 hours on console. I was playing when the game released on June of 2017. And I have even more hours than that on PC. So actually I have played extensively on both sides.
Well then I guess we have to agree to disagree. Skill gaps between console and PC are always overestimated IMO. They really only apply to intense FPS games.
-
@Mister_Holdout said:
I don't want to sound rude, but killers on console will probably never be on the same level as PC. The two platforms have completely different player bases.
And of course, the hardware advantage is worth noting as well.
Still, that doesn't mean killers on console can't be decent at the game.
You obviously haven’t played extensively on both. The skill differences are negligible. The only thing different is that Nurse and Huntress are easier to use and juking is slightly more effective due to less sensitivity.
-
@fluffymareep said:
Are we talking about camping when a lot of gens flying through and you're trying to gain friction or camping before 5 gens were done with ruin and NOED? Gen rush only really happens if you're not applying appropriate pressure or if everyone brings in boxes and prove thyself.
That’s definitely not true, especially if you aren’t playing a mobility killer. There are plenty of games where i’m ending chases quick and still, the gens get done. A killer like LF or wraith literally can’t move fast enough from a hook to a gen across the map.
-
LOL. Yea survivors expect you to go into a corner on the opposite end of the map to let them be unhooked. Anything less is “camping.”

The framerate on ps4 is fine for the most part. It’s the sensitivity that makes her harder. I can’t always turn around in time to hit.

Loop this Mister Know-it-all
That video is filled with bad survivor plays. You should assume nurse has bbq, so sitting still is a bad idea. And lol, that Bill made the worst play possible by trying to unhook in front of her, which is a bad play against any killer. Everything else was the survivors being outplayed. The only thing OP about nurse in that video is omega blink, which most agree should be nerfed.
-
Sorry that you can’t adapt or loop her forever.

The reason he has no power is because if the survivors are smart they just seperate and make Legion literally powerless because you only get 1 hit because of your power in a chase and then you have no Power at all you have to chase being a normal m1 killer that can't do anything you can also loop legion in FF because it is so slow.
If they are repeatedly running away, they aren’t doing gens.
@vampire_toothy said:
If we consider the power from how it's supposed to be used which is to chain attacks on multiple survivors to make them waste time, then yes the new legion is a buff to the old one.
The problem is that good survivors don't heal unless they aren't taking the match very seriously and this is bad for Legion because if survivors don't heal then Legion doesn't have a power other than to make survivors mend for 15 seconds. The reality is that although this is 15 seconds of a survivor not doing anything to progress the game, a large chunk of that time you just made is actually wasted trying to chain an attack.
Let's imagine a scenario you stab someone in Feral Frenzy and you go out to chase another survivor 8 meters away who happens to be running away in a straight line. A survivor moves at 4 m/s while Legion moves at 5 m/s in Feral Frenzy effectively meaning that you used 8 seconds to hit the second guy. Now let's assume nobody else is nearby, you now spend 2 seconds catching up and end your power after catching up to the survivor meaning that you will now waste another 4 seconds going into the fatigue which will mean the survivor gains 5.2 meters and you will not catch up to them until 8.66 seconds later. This means that without even going counting the time it takes to down them, Feral Frenzy has effectively only provided you 1 second to spare and if the survivor makes it to a loop then your power was literally for nothing and you have no impact on the chase from there other than to be a basic M1 killer.
To clarify, getting people injured fast isn't terrible - what is terrible is having no power outside of that for when people don't care about healing.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/602178#Comment_602178
Unfortunately that playstyle is actually still possible through running the addon "Frank's Mixtape", it's just highly inefficient is all. That being said, I find that people are actually more upset with the long fatigue time and the fact that they have no power against injured survivors more than anything - not the fact that a cheap and unfair playstyle was removed.
The “no heal” play is risky though, especially if Legion has monitor. Add ons also make it hard for survivors to get away from a swipe.

This is the mentality of people who believe Nurse is balanced. Sorry to single you out, but this kind of comment is seen too often in these threads about Nurse. Survivors who don't have experience playing against real Nurses talking like they know what they are talking about.
I just watched 9 of the de-pip squad's nurse games. Holy cow, what a waste of time. Of those 9 matches only 1 nurse had ruin. Despite not having dead hard or any exhaustion perks these Nurses were failing to down any of the survivors for minutes at a time. The final one I watched (game map - a great map for nurse) saw the nurse not get a single hook until 2 and a half minutes into the game.
The only decent nurse I saw was on the game map (different nurse than I mentioned before). I hesitate to call this batch of Nurses bad, but wow. Those who haven't seen the de-pip squad's games against Nurses, please watch. After so many people referencing it as proof that nurse is beatable, I admit I was slightly curious if my opinion that nurse is broken was flawed. For those who haven't watched, please do. It's a lesson on how not to play against SWF groups.
2 Nurses that I saw were just memeing (no perks or addons), almost no nurse had ruin, despite no exhaustion perks on the survivors these Nurses had trouble downing anyone for loooong stretches of time. No Gen pressure. Blinks to nowhere. Sorry to say, but all that experiment prooves is that they played some truly not good Nurses.
Maybe that’s because nurse doesn’t auto down people and the depip squad knows how to play against her?
-
Hot take: decisive is better now than before, especially if multiple survivors use it. It forces you to waste time, rewards sloppy play, and punishes good killers. It was counterable before.
-
Nurse is fine, people just don’t like adapting. There are a ton of scenarios where she has to guess.
-
Like really, she's the best, well why you even play other characters, ofc i understand console players and ofc you don't need to play her all of the time, bc it's boring, but trust me, most of your killer games, you should play as a nurse.
Yea I agree. I play on console and still, feel a massive difference. I am to the point where i have lost patience with other killers.
