I’d put Hawkins up one but otherwise very accurate
This is why totem perks can never be balanced
I did indeed correct Hawkins... It does have some really weak spawns but also has some that are phenomenal. Good call! 😃

Often times my totems on Haddonfield spawn right next to the pallets at loops, so I think it should be at least C tier
Haddonfield is only where it is because of the spawns in unused rooms in houses usually never get broken.
-
Wiggle was originally implemented so the killer can't just haul you across the map to the basement. It's not meant to actually free you unless you're being helped. Or If the killer sacrifices a survivor, that hook is broken. So wiggle can free you if you're near a broken hook if the killer tries taking you to that hook first. It needs specific circumstances to be useful.

Only hard to master, not effectiveness.
Solid list then. My only differences of opinion is Oni and Billy should by reversed, Trapper should be A because you have to learn to accurately predict survivor behavior. And wraith is weird... I feel like he should be like mid C tier just because timing is so subtle and punishing for him.
Just opinions. Great list!

Is this ONLY based on how hard they are to master, or how effective they are when mastered as well?

Totem spawns is a pretty interesting tier list. I would think Lery’s and Hawkins would be among the top.
I've got lery's #1 S tier. I believe I've got hawkins as A. Hawkins has some great ones but quite a few sit adjacent to gens.
The game was always great for totems because they're usually tucked away just out of open sight. I don't have enough experience after the rework to know if they're worse.

I don't find Grim Pantry hard to locate totems on. There's always at least two guaranteed to spawn on the hill where shack is every time. Midwich should be S tier.
I actually meant grim and pale to be reversed. It seems my totems last better on pale Rose. Is pale just as easy for you to locate them?
Also I used to feel midwich was easily S tier but lately totems drop pretty quickly.

I respect any killer except Nurse. She quite simply shouldn't exist. Singleplayer design in a multiplayer game.
She is SOOOOOO punishing to use though. I have to respect good nurses because they have spent so much time being humiliated while learning her. I have 20 or so hrs on her and struggle for a draw every time I use her.

Usually if I'm killer and someone dc's early I'll hook the others 2x maybe kill one depending on if one is irritating. And let the others finish and escape. I usually just pretend to be playing badly.

The problem with Dead Dawg is it is way too small with so many unsafe pallets. At least Coal Tower has safe tiles that offer fun mind games while being small but Dead Dawg is far from that.
That is true. DDS is not best for looping. I am terrible at looping so that's probably why I don't mind it.
You've inspired me though. I made a map tier list based on kill totem spawns I will post shortly. If you see the thread give me your opinion please. It's based on strongest to weakest totem maps.

This is just my opinion coming from someone that plays both sides. I think we can all agree Haddonfield and The Game both deserve their own tier at the bottom.
I definitely agree with the coal tower. I usually play killer so my list is a little different. I do agree with the bottom tier as well.
I think dead dog should be s tier as well. I love that map even as solo survivor. It's not too big, has plenty of easy grass to blend into. Has somewhat unpredictable totem spawns, but not to the point where they're impossible (swamps).

Decisive Strike is extremely meta defining because its existence in a match forces a Killer to change their playstyle. So what if there was a perk that was even more meta defining.
Introducing my idea for the strongest anti-tunnel perk in the entire game:
All For One
You cannot be killed or sacrificed until all Survivors in the trial have at least one hook state.
"What do you think you're doing? My friends still need me."
The threat of this perk would make camping or tunneling out an early kill impossible. All the sudden facecamping, insidious camping, setting 90000 traps in the basement and proxy camping instead of pressuring gens would all go away. Because it wouldn't be worth the effort or give any sort of advantage.
Killers would consider hooking all four Survivors before getting their first kill to be the standard and would never try to circumvent that. We all use BBQ anyway to monitor how many Survivors we've hooked, so good players probably would be fine with the change and bad players wouldn't be able to grief Survivors or cheese out wins.
So you like every match pre determined that you win... Got it.
That'd be like a killer perk:
- ENTANGLED ENTITLEMENT.
If survivors complete generators at a rate of more than 1 per 3 minutes, all survivors suffer the exposed status effect and have their auras reveals for the remainder of that 3 Minutes.
-
Sneaky Trapper Build:
Trail of torment+Dragons Grip+Oppression+BBQ.
ToT makes you undetectable and highlights gen for survivors, DG Discourages survivors from immediately tampering with said gen or getting exposed, Oppression will give you a direction to go with the missed skill check, BBQ is just my preference. If you need time to pre set up swap it for Currupt.
____________-----___________.
Snowball basement build:
Agitation, Iron Grip, Mad Grit, Save the best for last.
Simple gnarly Trapper basement build.
Bring yellow or purple trap bag. Pre place 4 or 5 traps at basement (out of the way like near back lockers and side cubby to make sure you don't step into one carrying a survivor). If at shack, place one either in pallet doorway or just outside window. Force-carry a survivor to the basement, pick up your basement traps and litter the stairs and landing.... Wait for the avalanche 😈
-
Survivor + tie between Kate and Zarina.
Killer + plague (in outfits that don't accent her decomposition too much) I guess.
Survivor - tie between Meg (looks like permanent resting b face) and Elodie (ONLY because she sounds like what I can only imagine is an Elf when kicked).
Killer - Nea... The Neaity is not fooling anybody 🧐

If you want to slug all 4 at 5 gens and not hook, that's fine. It's part of the game.

I will still try to hide from you and not allow the hook. That is part of the game. Hiding from the Killer.
The only way to stop this is to not slug, but I do agree that at some points it is necessary to pressure Survivors. Just be ready with a Perk or something because most Survivors I see will try to hide somewhere so you can't get the kill. It's just part of the game.
That's fine. Just don't send me hate for you bleeding out.
You knew you would. You knew it would take more time. You are trying to punish me (and you as well but idc) for slugging.

Tell it to the op he's the one telling survivors what to do when he's wasted a bunch of their time.
He's saying if you'd rather be hooked to get to your next match faster then don't crawl away trying to hide.
If others are dead and you you don't have unbreakable and are hiding that's fine... But don't blame the killer for you bleeding out.

It is if you're a killer main expecting to feel badass. Cater to the fragile killer's feelings or be shamed on the forum!
I actually just posted about this yesterday (solo survivor game). A poor rank 16 that got run by a rank 15 the whole match, and then gave an opening for us to save the rank 15 at the end (who managed to escape via DS), and DC'd because of it. I felt bad, I wanted to help the Killer have fun, but the replies were basically, "Nothing you can do, you were just better than them." But does that killer thing we were sweaty? Maybe. But if there's nothing I can do, then the only other choice is to stop playing (and Entity willing, the game will die soon and we will all be free).
Lol. Nm I misread. Apologies.

I honestly think MMR has been turned on in secret because whenever I play Wraith or Plague I get the sweatiest matches possible but when i take time to practice Hag i get survivors that are more at the same level I am on Hag rather than the level I'm on as wraith and plague.
It low key feels like their broken mmr that's made us miserable in the past.
Where it uses statistics to put killers with more hrs vs only 3 or 4 man swf.
I often meme, farm (with all others), for fun and ALWAYS versing survivors that are super coordinated makes this impossible. So we all lose on a fun scale.
-
I have as well. I had my first 3 of 5 matches with survivors burning for Haddonfield and with least 1 survivor burning offering for fewer hook spawns.
1 of 5 survivors burned for ormond but I 3k'd anyway (though not honorably).
1 of 5 felt normal. Survivors weren't throwing or meming but it felt less like a coordinated assault of 4 players with 5000 hrs. (You know the difference in these because you give a survivor hatch instead of hitting their corpse with angry compulsion til the entity takes it away).
Seriously though. Yes very rough today.

Sounds familiar lol.

I know you have BT. I know you have DS. No, I don't want to hit you, I want to hit the person that saved you. Go heal or something. Ask that person out on a date that you keep eying out. Do your homework. Clean your room. Feed the neighbors you have locked in your basement. Just stop trying to get hit.
Being body blocked by BT while ACTIVELY TRYING TO NOT TUNNEL! That the only reason I tunnel relentlessly. If you jump in my face body blocking with a perk designed keep you from being targeted off hook, I'll give you the attention, over and over, I'll eat DS, I will devote every second to making you regret it.

Not to be disrespectful but i’ve seen plenty post saying that dh should be reworked, since it’s very unfair for the killers who can easily lose a loop because of it -allegedly.
I mean, of course it is a very op perk, which is used by many survivors and that can become a real issue on the hands of those who know how to use it. Still, did you ever stop and thought about the fairness of the Tombstone?
Yeah, sure he has to stalk much than the usual to get there in tier 3, but still it is not even fair and gets frustrating when you have the game almost done and some creep just walking through you and insta kill you.
There has to be a balance between those two sides. Complaining about the dh or even ds it’s just unfair to us who’ve been dealing with this offerings and add-ons.
Just a thought, be safe y’all!
I honestly have no problems with DH or tombstone... Ironically though any survivor team that uses DH to full potential would also NEVER be effected buy tombstone. They're good enough to do 5 gens without giving Myers enough evil.
-
The game doesn't look at whether you survive and escape only... It assesses whether you DESERVED to survive as well.
If 3 people die and you get hatch, you'll at least safety pip (if not +pip) if you did enough work towards a team escape. If you do little to no work on gens, rescues, totems etc and escape through hatch you should not rank up because you'll bog down less selfish players that rank up by helping.
If anything I think less bp should be awarded for escaping as the last survivor alive. Especially through hatch.

Yeah, I can't see the addon info on the mobile version either, but they still show up under desktop. Judging from the notification I'm getting about some kind of update to a "new mobile experience" from Gamepedia, I'm guessing that feature isn't working properly on mobile anymore.
Oh, I'm on mobile. Well I'm glad I can still see them on pc. I was just thinking "we'll have no way to see how bad future killer add-ons will suck😳" lol. I've never looked at it on pc. I play on ps4 so usually I think of something while playing then check on my phone. I'll use pc.

I like to play peekaboo with a killer from behind a window and I like to rub my hands on Davids body every chance I get.
TOXIC!!!
😁
-
@KrosseKrabbePizza said:
Are there any ways to reduce the toxicity on both sides?
The main problems on killer´s side are tunneling and camping. It might be a playstyle but it is kind of griefing, since the tunneled / camped survivor can´t do anything against it. "Do gens instead", yes that works for the three other survivors but the camped / tunneled survivor can´t do anything against it.
- I know it won´t happen but just give the killers minus pips and points for tunneling and camping
The main problems on survivor side are ragequitting, farming and killing theirselves on hook. This is even more toxic since there is no reason to ragequit or to kill theirselves on hook since it affects all other survivors. Just take the down and try to escape after you get unhooked. Giving harder penalties and minus points for killing theirselves on hook would be nice, because a 3vs1 is basically impossible to win. There must be a way to distinguish between a Ragequit and a network issue.
It would be easy to give out the minuspoints for farming and and selfkills on hook. The only problem are the ragequits and a 5 minutes penalty isnot enough.
Lol you just listed how "both sides" could be fixed for survivor experience 😂.
I figured you meant the toxic gameplay against killers as well... Survivor main?

Let dead hard be activateable like it normally is, just a single 'E' key with all the latency issues it currently has, then in addition have it activate the QTE style prompt if a hit connects for timing. That way a survivor can either decide to use it on their own terms if they think hitting the next tile is more important than dodging a hit, or to get a second chance at not being dead if they're already completely screwed.
Either way would still exhaust them.
Doing it this way is not likely considering the latency issue is why the game can't tell whether or not it hit at the moment. Suggesting that it activate a QT event that's slows the animations while it happens wouldn't work either as time would slow for the others playing too... Just doesn't work in online multiplayer games.
They just need to fix the hit validation and latency.
-
This would take away the only counterplay the killer has. If someone is injured and I know they haven't used an exhaustion perk, I try to chase close and slightly turn or look up to bait out dead hard. Or hit them as unpredictably as possible.
Without those measures DH would guarantee a missed swing and in most cases the survivor to automatically make it to another loop/vault/pallet.

I’m getting really bored of playing killer, chasing survivors away from a generator, only for them to go right back to it forcing me to have to chase them away again. They just keep tunnelling the generator until it is completed and it’s frankly toxic, anti-fun behaviour. Please try to make the game fun for everyone involved and spread your repairs around all the generators evenly. Thank you.
Slugging gens too! All the time they camp a gen til it lights up... And they just leave it slugged like that.

Just play to win if that's how you have fun. Don't concern yourself with the "survivor rulebook for killers", it constantly changes depending on how you win.
As killer, expect to be called trash any time you win. Just consider it a compliment.
Edit: I usually respond to the salt by just repeating variations of "so what, now you're all mad about it", "why you gotta get all mad about it" etc... Usually turns the hate pretty hilarious in a hurry.

can we up the dc penalties instead of them resetting im sick of running into people who just disconnect constantly after they get downed once or just give up hook why play if you just give up may as well throw your newborn baby off a cliff.
instead of 5 and 15 mins how about it increases over a week or 2 weeks everytime it doesnt reset put like csgo's implement keep dcing increase the cooldown could be banned for a week but thats their fault
The newborn off a cliff analogy seems a bit irrational. Don't post while freshly mad at a bad match is my advice. Kinda comes off ridiculous.

One of the most rage-inducing things in this game for me personally is when survivors tea bag and flashlight click at the exit gate rather than just leaving. Especially if the game was actually fun and fair and then they ruin it by tea bagging at the gate, or just sitting there and waste my time because they need me to come to the gate and see them tea bag or click.
Deathslinger+NOED+Blood Warden=Tbag regret syndrome.
Just gotta shoot fast, hit any 1 of the tbaggers, watch the rest scramble (they never leave when a fellow tbagger gets snagged) hook them then down the others as you chase them out (to a blocked gate😈)

so you agree then, the whole debate that DS is so super strong simply because it forces killers to play in a certain way is invalid and they should be less scared about eating DS's or not tunnel unless necessary. that's not to say that DS isn't strong, it absolutely is, but it's necessary.
"SOME killers tunnell to be asses. But MANY survivors" nah nah stop with the survivors toxic killers innocent pls.
SOME and MANY are interchangeable. But killers DO get far more hate for utilizing ANY advantage. Never seen a message from a killer that starts "imagine needing (insert random perk, add-on etc)...".
I don't have any issues with DS. I play solo survivor and I too see a need for it in fact.
I'm more arguing the double standard of killer having to make the game fun for four others at their own expense or be called trash. When I've rarely (but it has happened) seen survivors sacrifice themselves if they see a killer struggle all match.
Notice "entitled killer main" is not even an expression. There's a reason.

I was referring to your "killers don't play nice without an obsession". Most killers don't want to eat ds if they have to tunnel. I personally feel it's much more restrictive and time consuming to try to avoid it... Considering buying time is my intention for tunneling.
Some killers just tunnel to be asses. But many survivors will prey on a weak killer and constantly bm them purely to be asses but that same killer will get WAY more hate for tunneling out a weak survivor to get a time advantage.

see above.
stop giving me these very specific situations where tunneling is okay. i understand that. lmao.
I don't care if there's an obsession or not. If the survivors aren't slamming gens at break neck pace I don't tunnel. If I accidently down someone soon off hook I'll leave them slugged regardless. If I am tunneling it's for a reason and idc if ds is there or not. If I'm tunnelling I tunnel through ds.
One instance that WILL insure I tunnel you relentlessly is if you use bt to body block me while I'm actively trying NOT TO TUNNEL. If that happens, that player is dying at all costs.

Tunnelling is a necessary strategy against good swf. I generally don't tunnel, but if someone draws me into a chase, and 3 gens pop before the 4 minute chase ends. I'm tunnelling at least 1 person out, I'll eat the ds and all.

No killer perk is overpowered, but id say that a certain combo is. Undying+ Noed. Takes no skill to use, and you get at least two people down bc of it.
I've tried this just to see. At high ranks Undying always gets broken so it literally gives zero benefit to NOED except for defending dull totems in the early game.
Most survivors follow if the if it glows it goes and very few maps will hide 1 lit totem all match. So it's a wasted perk and may force you to play with only 2 for an entire match.

Not probable. I mean Leatherface never got one but freddy got 5 variations. My guess is at the blinding speed they try to introduce chapters and the more serious bugs every new chapter introduces means they won't be dedicating any time to killers that aren't brand new.
Plus I believe this was asked in a q and a and they basically said they're doing map reworks instead for the foreseeable future.

The company being terrified of and controlled by whiny survivor mains coupled with the complete lack of talent when it comes to map design gives me no incentive to play. Maybe they like demo because it's the only killer they can play against?
