Like why even bother, especially when you can only use a handful of killers that’s actually viable in the high ranks to counter gen rushing (like spirit or billy). This entire game has gone stale and even with the new chapter coming out. I doubt that much will change, besides the point of a new weak killer with mediocre perks.
Might as well just play a brain dead survivor at this point or wait until an actual update that fixes this mess that lets you be able to use less viable killers like Clown.
You consider yourself to be high rank? If not then why is playing against high rank survivors an issue since it won't happen often?

At least they had fun.

Didn’t know ruin skill checks getting removed was exciting considering survivor q times increased drastically and the killer player base grew smaller lol. I think next abilities we’ll see is something to do with generator speed, op loops or something to combat tunneling and camping since those seem to be the biggest issues
Longer loops and extra windows added back into the game to combat tunneling?

They changed it bc the old HT would completely shutdown sabotage, and the whole point of sabo changes is to bring it back for solo players to have something else to do other than gens.
So kill off a situational killer perk?

Why did it need changed in the first place? Why remove the hook respawning?! That's why I ran that perk!
Hangman's Trick wasn't just an anti sabotage perk. It allowed the Killer to reuse hooks broken by a full sacrifice. THAT was the ENTIRE POINT of running Hangman's Trick! It was one of my most VITAL perks on Trapper and based my entire build around that fact of being able to reuse hooks no matter what.
Setting traps gained more meaning when I could reuse the same areas more often. Time spent setting traps wasn't as wasted and it allowed a Trapper to do what he was built to do. I could find a possible 3/4 gen and lock that ######### down thanks to Hangman's Trick. It allowed me to constantly use the same few hooks and never have to worry about being forced away from that dead zone of traps. My time spent setting up traps was made worth it due to HT.
Now with HT being made into something effectively worthless (6m is no better than using your own eyes in every case I can think of but a couple for anti sabotage and is 100% worthless for anything else) my Trapper just became extremely weak. HT allowed DEFENSIVE Killers to DEFEND their area! Now, HT is never going to be touched again and people like me have to work even harder to make a painfully slow Killer like Trapper worth playing.
Might not even bother playing Trapper anymore to be honest. HT did THAT much for him!
"It was one of my most VITAL perks on Trapper and based my entire build around that fact of being able to reuse hooks no matter what."
Your fun had to be sacrificed for the greater good of the game.

I’ve played killer before with zero perks, items and offerings and I got 3/4 too easily. And they gen rushed me pretty hard too. Idk man I think it’s too easy being killer except when you hit those squads of 4 all communicating it’s stressful. But nah my vote goes to survivor being the most frequently frustrating to play. Mostly because there’s just that feeling of diminishing hope when you see your team going down so fast. Like complain all you want about gen speed but Mori and hook camping just ruins the game. Because, to be honest if I get hooked which is inevitably going to happen, are you really saying I deserve to be taken out of the game for getting caught a second time when the killers just tunneling the ######### outta me? 😂 nah I’d rather DC. It can be a lot of work on survivor side too if your gen pressuring like you’re supposed to. To the killers: just get your chases, down who you can and if people get away, then so be it. I mean, you’re given a lot to get your 1-2 maybe 3/4 kills every game. And you can’t tell me you’re not finding anyone before 5 gens pop because that’s a lie. You literally have to be blind for that to happen. So ... what’s the deal? If it were easy to 4K every game you think you’d find any survivors to play against? Nah. Perks are very situational on the survivor side of things so I really don’t see why complaints should arise. Flashlight might be a little OP but so is Mori. Nothings more deflating than being that guy that runs the killer until he gets caught, then camped on and Mori’d right after. It’s just dumb man like killers for sure need to stop complaining 😂 they’re given so many tools to just lay people the hell out. A lot of times I don’t even want to go on a chase because I just feel like I won’t get to play again if he gets me.

I'm thinking about picking up Hag, and I already know the basics. I'm looking for advanced tips, stuff that seperates a good Hag from a great Hag.
Give them to me.
Keep placing traps, even in chases. Low total trap placed count hurts the Hag's game. And don't chase excessively. When not in direct pursuit make sure to teleport if something goes off.

The base game is supposed to support the normal day to day support.
DLCs cost money because extra development hours are needed.
Don't you think that if a game is relying on DLC money to support day to day operations that there is trouble looking for the overall game health?
We don't know if that's the case for BHVR. But my suggestion is that money coming in for the base game should be able to fund changes for the balance changes needed that have pushed people like myself away from the game.

agreed , as i said in other posts already, this dc punishment is a joke. cause innocent people get punished, because the game has so many bugs and connection issues. plus the guilty people will just keep suiciding on first hook, so the whole dc penatly system is for nothing.
At the very least, the people who DC on purpose will be forced to stop doing that. If they suicide on hook early then people will report them for too.
Back when I used to play DBD I didn't get any DC penalties. Is it that the game coding itself leads to dropped connections, it is this more a problem with some people's gear? Given the abundance of bugs in the game I wouldn't completely rule out the former.

@CornMoss said:
Sadly there are two arguments to this, yours which I agree w but also he did get the 4k in the end of the match and double pipped.
To counter the other argument you could also say they could've actually did some gens at the start instead of thirsting for unhook and try to bully the killer. Even though they did all of that and screwed up SUPER bad they still managed to pop all the gens, no matter how well he played and how bad they are at the game
I don't think most killer mains don't want to have to play so sweaty - all the time -that Otz had to in order to come back from a likely 0k. The game then becomes a chore.

It would have been over fast because he has to resort to slugging to counteract the gen speed. That's what happens for players who don't have old Ruin as an option.
The team rebounded because it's now more common for people to carry Unbreakabill.

How about adding a blue stain for survivors? You know, to increase the skill cap and to not make the game easy for baby survs? Think of the extra mind games that would become possible.

- You cant see how many comments/views a thread has anymore
- There are less threads per screen (the panel for each thread is higher, so you need to scroll more)
- There is no back to the top button, which makes the new menu even worse
- Floating "folder up" button is gone
You forgot to mention the 4s cooldown on the touchscreen buttons.

Stop trying to hook too many survivors and you can have all the fun you want.

People who truly main The Spirit are still here. All the people who dropped her are just try-hards who only play whatever the meta tells them to.
They were turned off by the idea of her getting nerfs though. I never used her overpowered add-ons before, so I didn’t get used to relying on them as a crutch. I love playing her without add-ons and she’s still really good. Almost god tier. The collision and vaulting nerf didn’t really affect her that much. As The Spirit you wouldn’t really be vaulting that much, and the collision nerf just saves Survivors from accidentally being found.
But I guess try-hards would drop any Killer as soon as they get any nerf. Same thing happened to The Nurse, despite the fact that she’s still top tier. It just became harder to play her, yet try-hards ran away from her because they are scared of the thought of even touching a Killer they think is unviable.
Try hards are important to the ecology if a small game like this. Once they are gone the game will die out. They need to be happy too.

But i havn't played much killer last couple of months because of the wonky sounds. On top of that i believe her new prayer beads are bugged. Survivors can hear the phasing sounds while still in her terror radius.
If the devs fix the sound issues next patch I might start haunting around again though. I think she is very fun to play and against good survivors it can be a challenge :)

Btw I am judging these killers at their base abilities. No add ons, no perks
I often see people playing Myers, Ghostface, and Oni, but never any Plague killers. Myers, Ghostface, and Oni all have the same capability to put survivors into the dying state with a single attack, along with another attribute. For example, Ghostface & Michel have the choice to be stealthy (which can be trumped by perks) and Oni can go into a high-speed dash to easily traverse around the map if the conditions are met. The Plague, however, can easily keep all of the survivors in the injured state for easy pickings with little effort unlike Myers, Ghostface, and Oni. The Plague is also good for tracking because infected survivors will produce more noise and leave signs of infection on objects that are interacted with (can not be trumped with perks to my knowledge). Additionally, if survivors do cleanse, (which from what I've seen usually don't) you can gain the ability to damage survivors with a projectile (that is more difficult to avoid then a hatchet) for a period of time. Because of this, I believe the Plague is underrated. After all, this is all just an opinion, so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
Solution - don't worry what other people think. They are entitled to their own thoughts.

Also survivor is less stressful to me than killer.
So why did you switch?
I've stopped playing the game the past two weeks. If things are righted I might come back. I won't switch to survivor bc I don't like 3rd person pov. I think DBD might be done for me. No more money into it that I can see .

Just why? These forums are constant bitching that the devs are “survivor-biased” or “killer-biased”.
From my observation, the majority of you bitching are the entitled red ranked survivors or killers.
Ruin nerf is not that big of a deal. Most good teams can go through gens easily with it and they usually find it within the first minute anyways. Essentially, it’s a waste of a perk slot.
Killers want: Slower generator repairs, Automatic 4ks with 0 generators repaired every game. Small one-sides maps. No DH, no DS, no BT, no Adrenaline, no nothing.
Survivors want: No camping, no tunneling, faster generator repair, no killer on the map.
Both sides have counter-plays to the others. For all you Superior Red Ranks to be so much more intelligent and experienced in the game, you sure ######### a lot.
Probably 1 in 5 games on Xbox I play a Red killer that runs ruin.
BHVR might as well remove Teachable perks from the game so everyone is limited to Unique Play-styles of each Character instead of meta-builds.
"Essentially, it’s a waste of a perk slot."
If that was the case:
1. Most killers wouldn't be using it.
2. The developers would see no need to change it.
Ruin is being nerfed, because it's considered too effective. You don't see truly useless perks like Monstrous Shine being reworked.
You are trying to gaslight us, like the community manager is doing. Not buying your argument.

whenever I watch otz win all I see is braindead survivors getting mindgamed at the simplest loops and failing to create any pressure on gens even if they do well on loops, as he tries to come up with little explanations as to what he is doing and why and then everyone thinks he is good. you don't have to be good to make simple decisions, this game is just like remembering the alphabet as a little kid. whenever I watch otz lose most of the time all I see is an average case of good swf team vs killer. they can actually be in a chase for more than 20 seconds and gens pop left and right and otz decision to use crappy perks like im all ears backfires as he has no crutch free kill perks which is pretty much required against a good team to stand a chance.
this game isn't balanced at all, there is no chance for having any ACTUAL competitive scene for this game atm and this was proven with that one tournament they had. yes otz is an experienced killer, yes he knows a lot, like a lot of killer mains, so its easy to destroy unexperienced players or maybe even take down a team consisting of some experienced but uncoordinated solos (this is why most people hate playing solo because its so hard). the ranking system is so easy to rank up its basically just matching you with random players regardless of experience. the only thing rank drastically changes is the que times. otz can only really get dominated when its a team with experience and coordination. not randoms doing whatever they want and playing the game for fun, that's what you see when he does good. all of his explanations for his choices are gone when it comes to a experienced coordinated team, there is nothing he can do because his loadouts and killers are geared towards fighting unexperienced players. which is fine though this game is supposed to be more casual

In case the killer pushes you off. If they show up at your generator and start chasing you, it's going to regress (and fast). The only way you can prevent that is by cleansing the totem, otherwise you're taking that risk for the whole game. Otherwise if they hook a survivor, you need to choose between getting the unhook and losing progress or finishing the generator.

I don't think you guys understand what the mod is saying. Hex totems do not stay into late game for a reason. If it were not a hex perk it would always go into late game and would therefore be too powerful. That is why it needs to stay a hex perk.
The point of Ruin is to be useful in the first half of the game. What I read is that it will not become more powerful late game, if it lasts. If the latter is true I can understand it remaining a Hex. But our point is that this takes an early game tool out of our hands.

Here's another fun thing for killer players to do. Not simply switching to survivor, but playing survivor and sandbagging all your teammates so the killer has a chance. This Ruin change will lead to all sorts of toxic gameplay behaviour.

A perk change, which according to you, doesn't effect you. In your case what you have to weigh in doesn't matter, and is disrespectful to players who choose to use Ruin. It effects out gameplay choices so our feedback matters instead.
I'm tired of childish people who say, in effect, "this change doesn't effect me so to hell with those that it does. I got mine."

Once you remove the option of Gen or Boxes then you have effectively just removed the RBT from ever being useful.

Should we expect anything in the near future to help out this little gang, or is this the end for a long while?
The two big survivor DC backlashes were when Freddy and Legion came out. Freddy got a redesign and is no longer an "annoying" killer. Buffing Legion without changing his basekit and mechanics will only increase DCs on him again. Either he stays nerfed or he gets changed into a new killer. Either way, if you liked playing old Legion he's gone forever.

The devs only care about making the game fun for survivor, they don't give half a crap about killer unless it's nerfing them.
If you listen to their streams then you'll know what their objective is: two escapes and to kills per match on average.
Right now the stats show that all killers except for nurse are killing more than 50% of survivors. That means overperforming.
What we should expect going forward is that all killers except Nurse will be brought down in performance level.
It's not that they don't care, rather they have a design goal.

I do not think so. Freddy was not annoying for Survivors. He had one of the lowest Kill rates and was miserable to play as.
Actually if you go back to the beginning Freddy was the first super "annoying" killer that survivors demanded get changed. Almost immediately Freddy was nerfed to the lowest threatening killer and was not used as much as other player choices afterwards.
Now as to why he got buffed afterwards we can only guess. Mine is that since Freddy was a licensed character, BHVR was obliged to fix what they had done and bring credibility back to the property.
With Legion I don't think they will do anything, they'll just move on with new chapters and killers. I'll bring him out once in awhile to go through the BP tree and fill out the missing perks. With my limited use of him I experience more DCs in him than any other killer. I missed most of what happened early on by my feel is that survivors still hate the Legion after all these months, even though he's weak. Buffing him will only bring back more DCs like before, when it was common.
