50/50 Question

Let's assume that the objective of all upcoming patches are to reduce killer rate from the current level to only 2 survivors sacrificed per game.

What is the preferred player base way to achieve this?

1. Nerf killer perks, add-ons and basekit like we've seen?

2. Let killers keep what they have and buff survivors, making them stronger than they currently are?

As someone who's left the game I was unhappy with the series of changes to killers. I would play all characters and didn't like having tools taken away. Nurse, Legion, Oni, Ruin, Pig, etc. If I was a main on only one I might not have felt the impact as much. I think the solution is to make the survivors a bit stronger if the goal is to have a bit better survival rate for them.

  • They already are at an average of 2 kills per trial.

If they change something affecting all killers, the ones at the bottom will fall below 2 kills, meaning they would need a buff.

This is a false dicotomy, these aren't the only answers

No, it's more like a 65% kill rate when DCs are factored in.

  • While 2 die 2 escape can be something to work towards its not really viable to look at stats of this aspect only for balancing.

There are too many variables to why survivors die. They don't have to escape to pip being a major factor in this.

If I remember correctly, they said the average kill rate was about 3 per game not 2. However, I do believe the devs are trying to make it so the game is based around an average of 2-3 kills a game with a 4k being the outlier, not common.

Which is, 2 per match. It needs to be at 75% or higher for it to be 3 kills.

It's 2. Based on the graph they showed. Freedy being the closest to 3.

  • The devs say that 2K should be a baseline but their emblem system screams "Entity Displeased". Meanwhile survs can die and still rank up...

Though your not wrong the american census bureau would like to have a talk with you because you can have 2.6 of people.

Basically you are correct when rounding, but looking at the numbers about 7 killers range from 2.5-2.75 kills per game where the other 10 range between 2.25-2.5 with nurse being a outlier at about 1.9
