  • OP sounds entitled if he thinks he should only get positive chat feedback. That's not how real life works.

    MUTE YOUR LOBBY CHAT.

You'll feel healthier in the long run.

    It seems really good to me so far. Based on what's in the descriptions and what's gone;

No more passive terror radius buildup, that means no tracking just for existing at the start of the game. Survivors can react better to get into a locker when they hear the terror radius without being on a guaranteed 5 second timer before they tier up.

No more "modes," you can zap, and you can attack. That's WAY more user friendly. That also means no more slowing yourself every chase just to build up the stalling aspect of your power which is a really small stall anyway. Also, no grabs by spamming M1 in treatment mode while facecamping. It also means his zap-stun into an M1 is a much more fluid combination as you don't need to wait for a mode switch to swing, and hope they haven't recovered or just run away while you're slow.

The "Static Blast" is a cooldown based TR-wide attack to shock all survivors nearby, allowing a better controlled buildup that's likely to actually tier people up, rather than the slow passive TR effect on everyone nearby that you aren't in a chase with, even if you know they're there. The cooldown sounds fine, as I'm assuming you can still use his default zap in the meantime.

Overall he sounds much healthier. He's more fluid for the killer player and less cumbersome, and he can actually build up tier 3 on multiple people more reliably to stall people he's not currently in a chase with. On the survivor side, you have better options to avoid gaining madness by getting in a locker at the start and not needing to stay until the terror radius is gone. His calm add ons will also amplify the terror radius when a blast is coming so you can react, as they increase TR ONLY when the blast is off cooldown.

Really this sounds like an excellent rework that addresses most of the issues I have with him from both the killer and survivor sides.

Yes, if you wanted to get the info out, a new post would've been better.

Why? I managed to find it here.

  • "She had it coming for years. She broke the game and was left a monstrosity for that entire time. There was NOTHING you could do to counter a Nurse player that knew what they were doing before the nerf."

    1. How many players like those are out there, realistically?

    2. Get good.

  • Part of the reason for the BL change was to allow for future maps to have more drops.

I wish I can sell my legion for oni.. haha..

The way Killer reworks are going the next couple months playing Oni are as good as it's going to get. We have to assume that in the future he will only be scaled back.

  • @Shi said:

    Player feedback mean nothing.

Sure it does, you just got outvoted.

  • "As a legion main I actually don't think his changes are really a nerf, I'm kinda looking forward to playing with it. I didn't really use many of the perks that people complained about loosing anyways."

So to hell with the other Legion mains who have been using those perks, you've got yours?

  • @SnakeSound222 said:

Legion's been the worst Killer in the game since their rework. At least Leatherface had an instadown he could use to punish Survivors.

LF is missing a cooldown timer on his chainsawing. Come to think of it, shouldn't it only apply deep wounds?

  • @Kenshin said:

i guess wraith is "overperforming". damn, this meme is even better then "pretty good job so far".

From looking at the released stats all the killers are overperforming, even the weaker ones. I think DCs are tallied as kills. The started goal is to bring *down* the rate to two per game.

I really have to question if someone among the Devs suffers from PTSD from old Legion for facing them in-game. It would suggest an extreme level of pettiness and caprice, but I struggle to find any other explanation at this point to make sense of the additional unnecessary nerfs.

I don't play killers in a manner that causes people to DC, but when they do it's one of two things: either I'm running Legion, or Wraith with the add on that makes the heartbeat stay on when cloaked.

I've been trying to level up Legion recently and to his teachables, and some people still won't have anything to do with him.

  • @TKTK said:

We just have to accept that legion wasn't made to be good, they took away the stall which was all legion had with there mending and then took away perks like stbfl and sloppy so i think it's time to take legion out and put them out of there misery lol unless people like playing a killer with the power to injure and see nothing for 4 seconds after.

When he was about to be released the word from their stream was that the Legion was meant to be fun, which I took to not mean OP.

The rainfall of DCs that the Legion triggered basically doomed the character. If this killer was going to cause people to give up DBD then it has to be nerfed.

All in all it was a bad design that unmasked exploits. Don't think we as players are to blame.

I wrote a comment and disappered, I reger not beibng able to continue with this discussion, but my English is not dood and trying to rewrite something that took me more than 30 minutes really leaves me wantint to do it again now. I will try to write it later with the traslator and copi as much as possible everything I try to say here. I just want to say that I agree with what you say, bit I think blaming others when the problem is yours makes your company look very bad and it reminds me a lot of Overkill's The Waling Dead, where the devs complained that the players didi't tell hem whay exactly wanyted and that the fault of the failure had ben the players . I will try to give a better answer later.

I don't think Google Translate will help with with making sense of your ideas.

    That's my question too.

You know..I do love this game..I'm good at it..understand it, am building myself up as an aspiring content creator and hopefully streamer on it.. But it's hard to just sit back and trust things will ne handled..the devs seem so polarizing lately..on one hand the freddy rework and update to the spirit were both fairly done and well handled.

Then we look at the nurse and the legion..Nurse has been left in a terrible shape..whole there is still power behind her she diesnt have that thrill and fun she once did..the addon changes EVERYONE was behind but now..just by moving at an even slower rate than before you go through double cooldowns every 5 seconds..watching as your target gains gree distance..the gen clock ticking in the back of your head making you frustrated and anxious to close in the kill.... Yet the only reply given by the devs is they have no intention if listening to feedback at this time..Legion , I like many of his new changes..he will feel more fluid and tag targets better..but his deep wound has held back the game..caused several killer perks to be weakened or held back, even in this update..

borrowed time has become a nearly god their uncounteranle mess of a perk that punishes all killers for existing, not just camping like it's intended..all thanks to the legion and the deep wound that now more than ever does nothing for him...And it makes me wonder..will the oni be a hit or a miss ? Will he still be good or just cooldown simulater like nurse is..? What about killer perks, will they be made better and more usable or will they be left meanwhile survivor perks get to be better and better..either way I'm affected as I play both sides quite evenly most of the time..but it just sucks feeling like the most simple and important feedback to make this game FEEL like it did when you first got on..the killer was big and scary, you felt like you had to think fast..but then you begin to realize it's not as exciting..but the better killers show it still CAN be...we just need the devs to listen..

There are more survivors than there are of you, driving changes in this game. Do you lack basic comprehension?

I don't think I can tolerate it anymore, I'm probably one more trolly SWF sending me death threats in the post game lobby chat away from just leaving the game for good.

I don't know what is wrong with you guys, but a lot of you need some serious mental help; you need to see a doctor or talk to someone because there are some serious mental health issues with a lot of people that play this game.

(Please don't give me the hide chat stuff, I shouldn't have to, and it keeps unhiding itself for me anyways and I can't close it in time because the archive stuff or my dailies block me off from just closing it and moving on immediately I can't avoid seeing it a lot of the time. There is also no hiding in game behavior, and what people will do if they have access to your steam name or your stream info or discord or anything else)

    CLOSE YOUR LOBBY CHAT.

  • Cannibal and Billy need cooldown nerfs on their chainsaws. Too OP.

  • How were they messenging you?

  • @CrowFoxy said:

We seem to curious about this all, bhvr didn't even add any Nurse questions to their survey.

    What's done is done.

  • I find that using pallet perks like Enduring, Brutal Strength, and Spirit Fury are waste of perk slots in Clown builds. If you are counting on shaving a miniscule amount of time from pallet stuns then you are already losing the match.

With this killer you need the snow ball effect. Infectious Fright is good for immediately funding nearby survivors when you down someone, that way you can go for the second down right away.

  • What are you going on about with that giant run on paragraph? I don't read wall of text.

  • These challenges aren't for me. Not buying into any more.

  • Please stop crying for changes to be made. Problem solved.

  • @snowflake102 said:

I just found this out now:( so tell me again why are they nerfing him agian since he's already the weakest killer. Let me guess complaints from swf? We ask for buffs but this this... Idk just why?

Why? I'm guessing one reason is so that his attack is made consistent with other killers.

  • I pulled Legion of the shelf last night and first game someone DCs near the beginning. Hadn't even hit that surv yet, but was chasing them once I found them. If players will quit against a weak player on this character, I can only imagine how often it happens against Legion mains.

  • This is why I keep the Lobby chat off. A much more enjoyable gaming experience.

  • @White_Owl said:

I agree, it's time to stop... to act so childishly and constantly play the victim.

It was childish complaints about the Spirit that drove these changes in the first place. It's understandable that others will react in kind.

  • @sekkima said:

I still consider her a killer without skill ... I think she shouldn't be able to listen to injured survivors while using her power.

The main spirits did not release their hate messages because they know they did not touch their real problem.

Survivors being invisible isn't enough for you?

  • @PeenutsButt3r said:

You laughed SO HARD, so funny. Play on survivor side and get like 7 spirit games in a row and see if you can ever laugh again.

Get ready for 7 Freddy games in a row.

  • @Quol said:

Its why i doubt these are the real changes. I feel like devs are going to put in some more changes when they realize this doesnt do anything.

But who knows? Maybe the survivors got their rush for nerfing another killer filled and are going to move onto nerfing another thing. The threads demanding for Spirit's nerf have definitely stopped.

That's why I think some people here are idiots when they write that "these changes aren't so bad, almost nothing". Because if the kill percentage doesn't go down and the survivor whining doesn't stop, then more nerfs will happen to the Spirit.

  • @Yung_Slug said:

You can just find the hatch and close it though.

But wouldn't it be fun to try and grab the survivor who's about to jump into the lock? The game mechanic used to be there.

  • DBD Events were barely nerfed at all. Those who are complaining just need to get better

  • @pAncrop900 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/836673#Comment_836673

Dude spirit was op, that's it. They said statistically too many games with spirit don't end well for survivors. A nerf is required and necessary.

The players are op. Next Freddy will suddenly be performing above expectations.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

These changes will hardly matter to people who are ACTUALLY good at spirit. It’ll just take some time to readjust to her power.

Right. So this change makes it harder for less hardcore players who like to use the Spirit.

  • @Quol said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/836713#Comment_836713

Thats true, seeing nerfs is annoying but i was expecting so much more, so when i read what they have in plan "Thats it?" was my thought. It wont affect my playstyle at all and if these "nerfs" will get survivors to stop spamming Spirit nerf threads and get the devs to move off of Spirit then im all for it.

If these nerfs don't have the desired effect then expect more. The goal is for survivors to stop complaining about facing the Spirit.

  • @OMagic_ManO said:

Please give a TL;DR, I'm not reading that.

    Yes it needs paragraph breaks.

  • @Ramxenoc445 said:

Any post peanits comments on to me feels like the cool kid just walked in to set somebody straight.

Had a different effect in me. I have less confidence in then now than before.

  • "You've just argued against yourself. You said that any killer a good player picks will over-perform, then immediately said that Leatherface can't over-perform. You can even go to a more extreme example and take the Hillbilly."

So the developers are going to work backwards. Too many complaints about Spirit, how to keep them happy, therefore nerf.

As I suggest, the root problem is not going to go away. Whatever is perceived as the best killer an build will become meta and again the survivors will face fewer options.

That is not long term problem solving.

  • @Peanits said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/828070#Comment_828070

You've just argued against yourself. You said that any killer a good player picks will over-perform, then immediately said that Leatherface can't over-perform. You can even go to a more extreme example and take the Hillbilly. The Hillbilly is still subject to pallets and windows. You get hit when you're out of position. His chainsaw limits his control. There's stuff that an equally good survivor can do to avoid going down if they outplay the killer. The better player has a chance to come out on top.

When I suggest "whatever character" I don't mean "any character." The more hard core killers will not randomly coalesce around any killer but will instead determine the best wide ranging character available. People share information and it spreads. The game introduces new killers, perks and add-ons and eventually the strong builds become known and players will copy that.

Up until the recent Nurse change I am told the most common killers are the Hillbilly, Nurse and Spirit, with the Hag being up there. (I rarely play Survivor, so I don't know firsthand.) If both the Nurse and Spirit become harder to play and to get kills then the strong killer players will move towards what's still available.

If we're lucky then new opportunities open up. The Hag used to be awful but with one small tweak, reducing her trap setting time, she became very viable if not widely popular. If the Trapper ever gets a base kit with two traps then he will become much more common and strong.

Nerfing the Spirit won't solve the problem of stale gameplay by reducing the number of strong killers. IMO it'll just move the problem somewhere else, and probably quickly.

Like a number of people have pointed out, by making some half decent improvements to mid tier killers we'll see a wider of variety of them being used more often. Either that or fix the maps.

  • "Fact: She’s so OP that a very large number of survivors have taken to just quitting the match when they see its spirit again. And that’s not even with prayer beads"

The solution is to make other characters more viable, not the other way around. That way killer mains will choose a wide variety.

  • Bad example, the cannibal lacks mobility. If Spirit is nerfd then more people will choose Billy and the Hag, and then suddenly those characters will be "overperforming."

  • Turn off the lobby chat so they you don't see their comments.

  • I'm getting long waits on both killer and survivor, not just one or the other.

  • I don't mind. I prefer the extra bloodpoints.

  • Easy solution - turn off the lobby chat so that you don't get any messages after the match.

  • "I really don't think this is a good perk."

It pairs very well with Nurse's Calling.
