  • My desk broke once midmatch

    That was a mild distraction

@tippy2k2 tagging you because I want a Holly pic. 😂

Yay, my plan of becoming popular via Holly pic bribes is working!!!

Just for this, you get TWO cats!

I have no idea who this orange fella is except I'm pretty sure someone owns them as I've seem them outside in our area multiple times in the past. Holly kept jumping around on the window and I couldn't figure out why until...

I define “tunneling” as a killer going right after someone as soon as they are off hook until they are dead. If that’s what you did, yes. Do I see and issue with it in the situation you described, no.

    This

It might actually be tunneling AND it can absolutely be deserved. Those are not mutually exclusive.

Agitation and I had an affair a bit back, and it's a really great perk - just a hard one to find a spot for sometimes, unless I'm also running Starstruck.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2880882#Comment_2880882

Bond is a very solid perk, but I tend to run Kindred baseline so it occasionally feels like a bit of a waster. Not a bad choice at all though.

I run them both cause information is King :D

  • Bond (is Bond unpopular? I don't pay attention...)

Knowing where your team is can be a huge difference maker (especially in solo queue). Let's you know where to go and sometimes more importantly, where NOT to go if the killer is on your butt.

  • NGL, I have done the same thing :D

I don't message people about it because that's....weird. But I've absolutely let people go specifically because they didn't have DH if the option came up (or I've killed people I may have spared because they had DH on). I don't go through the game planning that out or anything but if at the end I'm after someone and they DH their way away from me, that usually takes them out of the running for the hatch.

Petty? Probably. Do I care? Not really :P

  • I've said that on here plenty of times.

People whine that the only killers they see are the high powered high mobility killers but when I play as a basic m1 killer, I pretty routinely get made into a punching bag.

Granted it's not all the time but if your choice is risk humiliation being a survivor chew toy or always being able to have a fighting chance no matter your opponents, it's not shocking people stop playing bad killers that can't keep up with good survivors.

  • Here you go:

Tippy officially declares that you run what you want. If anyone gives you any ish for it, tell them Tippy said it was OK.

  • I use it when I'm going for altruism points (solo player). I usually get at least one heal out of it and commonly can get multiple heals off the same WMI as 90 seconds is a pretty generous time limit (I also run Bond and Kindred so that helps as I can find the hurt peeps pretty easily)

I even grabbed a hat to put on Holly but it seemed too good to be true...

Although that pic might be adorable so maybe I'll do it anyway but save it for the next code

  • It's funny cause I saw the thread about the font change and I had no idea what they were talking about (on phone, it either hasn't changed or because it's the phone, I don't notice but it would be hard not to notice Comic Sans...)

It's only now that I hopped on my computer instead that I see what everyone is talking about.

That’s understandable. The original concept wasn’t to give killer’s an advantage and that makes sense. My intention was just to find a way to make the end of the match a little more exciting. Even playing a survivor I don’t find myself taking the end game very seriously. Maybe its for the best it doesn’t get changed but eh a man can dream.

I don't hate wanting to make changes to it. The NOED thing might be a bit much but I do agree that there is no real giddy up to EGC when it feels like in that situation "in real life" that would be your moment of hope that you might survive and you are desperate to get out while you can.

It would just be hard to balance it out or change it without giving an advantage to one side or the other.

  • Very doubtful as BHVR has stated the entire point of EGC is just to force the game to end. It's not on the side of the killer or on the side of the survivor and designed to put pressure on either of them, it's designed to force the game to end

Savvy killers can use EGC to their advantage and try to use it to pressure survivors but that's not the function of EGC.

  • What if I'm still super one sided and extremely entitled?

    Asking...for a friend

  • I honestly am wondering if BHVR either through normal turnover or maybe they got too big or what but the people currently running balance seem to have no idea what they're doing

Boil Over was a perfect example

As soon as it was announced, a million killer voices cried out how awful and abusable that was going to be. They were ignored. In a shocking twist no one could have possibly seen coming, it was awful and abusable and made killer life hell for a few weeks.

They seem to not have any real deep understanding of their own game so they leave the super weak stuff alone since when they mess with it, they seem to either break the game (literally with bugs), break the game (figuratively by introducing a stupid perk that can ruin the game), or both.

There’s no surprise with noed. If you see a very bad killer before 5 gens are done. He has noed

    He's out of line but he's right.jpg

    :D

  • That's why I always do my very best to hit a middle gen as one of the first gens. Once in a while it still ends up backfiring if the gens on one side get done (3 genning us anyway) but at least getting a middle one done right away greatly reduces the chance of that happening. It's the sorrows of solo though :(

  • What we've got is almost certainly going to be it. We the players are expected to do all the work because BHVR having to do anything cost money and that isn't worth it to them for some reason.

It's baffling but hey, it's not my company so what do I know about business?

  • I have never paid money for a cosmetic (unless you count the Rift Pass I guess) but I would buy a Old School Freddy cosmetic.

Unfortunately as others have stated, right holders who do not wish to make this happen stand in the way :(

  • That sounds like a hack. There are no instant blind flashlights anymore.

That said, the locker animation BS should be looked at. Had a game yesterday with two clowns who just stayed in killer shack and saved each other with flashlights and head-on. Nothing I could do about it.

  • My understanding is it is "technically" bannable but personally I can't imagine it's all that enforced. You'd have to do it through multiple matches and multiple people therefore would have to report you with multiple videos of matches where an employee would have to sit there and watch that you don't try to do anything.

BHVR is barely banning obvious cheaters, let alone taking all that time to review someone being AFK...

But yes, in the rules it is bannable and therefore I am legally required to recommend you not do it

[Note: This is not legal advice and should not be taken as such. Advice valid in the continental United States. Advice may be valid elsewhere but fees may apply. Talk to your doctor if your AFK lasts more than four hours as this may be an emergency medical condition]

It doesn't invalidate complaints, even if I play both sides i currently prefer one, just because I understand both sides doesnt mean my complaints arent legit just because I want to enjoy the side I currently play the most. Besides being a survivor main im a SOLO survivor main, which already sucks with the awful MMR an lack of comms.

I didn't say anyone's complaints were more or less legit or not. I didn't take any sides at all. The only thing I said is you'd see more killer complaints because killers have more things to complain about (which is why you see more killers complaining, not that the forum is all killer mains as some have suggested) but that doesn't mean survivors (especially solo queue) have nothing to complain about.

  • @MissBehavingX said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2878018#Comment_2878018

that really means nothing. I play both, used to main killer and now main survivor and play killer once in a while, if you ask me, I play both sides, but I do prefer one currently, and im sure im not the only one, most people would incline towards a side even if they play both.

You might prefer or enjoy one role more than another but if you play both sides, it helps you understand both sides and why a complaint may or may not be legit.

  • I always thought it was especially dumb because Demodoggo HAS a special attack so his own perk isn't very well synced to him...

The only type of "fair" that you're going to get with noed is to get totems, thats it. Once its popped the killer is going to try to hook the survivor next to the totem so that if you find it you either get slugged or hooked. the killer isn't going to take the chances

If the killer decides to guard the totem, there are then gates to open.

Right now the survivors don't attempt to avoid the killer at the end game (if they're healthy) because they don't realize NOED is in play. They're going to be way more cautious and have to make a choice to try to find the totem or try to open the gate if they know NOED is in play right away.

Personally I think NOED is fine the way it is but if I HAD to make a change, I think that would be the most interesting way to change it with how it would change survivors behavior in EGC time.

  • I imagine the majority of players here are 50/50 players (or at least play both sides, even if it's not an exact split)

In the current state, killers just have a lot more to complain about. I consider myself to have no main side but when I do whine, it's usually for the killer side because that side can be so damn miserable when you've played yet another high level Seal Team SWF Squad that show once again how bad the balance is tipped in their favor by having comms.

  • I still wish for a simple change that I think would make it far more bearable for people; when that last gen goes off, the exposure status appears on survivors screens.

Maybe that would ultimately ruin it (since the Surprise Fother Mucker factor is a big part of why you can snowball so easily with it) but that feels like it would make the perk a bit more fair.

Noed feels like I put no effort into actually downing people in the endgame especially a insta down with the speed boost just always felt cheap in my opinion

    This

I know I SHOULDN'T feel like it was a cheap down. Survivors could have done bones if they didn't want to risk NOED but it feels cheap.

If I'm having a bad night, I still will put it on a M1 killer but I do feel a little bad when I got a good match against not jerk survivors and NOED kicks on. I've let people go in those situations and I still don't really understand why I feel that way...

  • cover_image_cropped_(24).jpg

Except for the mainiest of survivor mains, I don't think there are many people who thinks this wasn't warranted. It took a lot longer than it should have but I guess it's better than never.

Well, it kinda has to be there just in case there's an afk, he could just farm off that survivor, but they should definitely up the limit that's for sure

TBF, if you have an AFK, you're almost certainly dead anyway. 3v1 in this game is a recipe for sadness for the 3 poor bastards trying to play.

  • It's been my usual mix of "one of us is getting curb stomped this game". I play baby survivors who have no idea what they're doing (I played a match yesterday where they got ZERO gens done. That shouldn't be physically possible). I also had a match where I got three hooks total.

So yeah, no real difference I noticed

  • I'm still baffled that they designed a killer who could literally run out of their power...

Taking that stupid limitation off alone would do wonders to his awful base kit

  • @Dwight_Fairfield said:

It could be a regional thing. For example I see a lot of people say they never face Oni but I see him fairly regularly.

Possibly because I don't remember the last time I faced an Oni either :D

  • Weird, then I guess he hates me because it's been months since I faced him

  • I don't remember the last time I even went up against The Shape but the last time did have tombstone. It honestly wouldn't shock me if that skewed the numbers. People rarely play him so when they do, they use his super powerful ish. I imagine there are very very very few Mikey Mains out there just because base kit Myers is pretty bad...

  • She knows who's boss!!!!

    ... it's her :(

  • Exactly!

This is the price to be a STAR baby!!!! Sometimes you need to not eat for an extra five seconds to give the fans that small dopamine rush they need to get through another day!

  • Holly is hungry! Hungry for more BP!!!

    PXL_20220331_121625627.jpg

Or maybe she's hungry for actual food and is mad at me for the five second delay to take her picture...

  • Absolutely (called subtle cheating).

Basically cheats that give you a SLIGHT edge but not enough to be blatantly noticable. Things like your run speed is 105% instead of 100% or you get boosts to repair or gate opening or healing or any number of things.

I do not believe this is possible on console but I have also been told that people cheating on PC can change their icon to whatever system they want so who knows how reliable that even is anymore.

They're a lot less likely to be reported (since you as the opponent might not even realize they're cheating, hence the name subtle cheating).

Even if you do report it, can you at a glance tell for certain that the survivor is running faster than they should or that gen that got done on the other side of the map wasn't just being worked on this entire time? BHVR seems to barely care about banning blatant in your face cheaters, yet alone someone who may or may not be cheating...

  • I should be fine (I purchased a new vehicle over the weekend) but my finances are going to be borked as hell for the next few months

This why i love Steam more. You can keep your treasures forever.

This one is good btw :d

It's funny too cause while there are certainly games when there's even the optics of me camping/tunneling (it's not something I like to do on purpose at least), I don't recall that happening at all in this game. I do recall this poor bastard got the Oni Stick all three times I downed him (so he only got one health state per down as he always went Fully Healed to Down) so he was probably just a salty boi about that.

Most of my messages sent to me are boring (GGEZ and other jerk things). I just remember this one specifically cause that "towel by your controller" line was funny

  • I'm on Xbox so no profile but this is still my favorite line by a survivor (my first lol was my usual response but I thought his second message was actually pretty funny, which is what makes it my favorite message).

Ah me too. Thankfully though the standard edition will be retail in the future.

You can fund it at any time for the next month. The pledges that go to the amount of requested money is just "will this happen or not". Kickstarter campaigns can go higher than that.

Now if you pledge it's practically guaranteed that you'll get the game!

Caveat: Because it's a kickstarter, there's technically no guarantee that anything happens and they can take the money and not deliver anything. But, I personally think that's fairly unlikely with this specific kickstarter.

    PXL_20220325_042645839.jpg

Unfortunately everyone's hero Tippy's finances are kind of farked for the foreseeable future 😅

  • I had an alarm to tell me when it kicked off as I intended to make this my first Kickstarter buy but life found a way to make sure that wasn't gonna happen :(

    No board game for Tippy

  • I'd really like that to come back

It still shows something (the two bottles have different smoke patterns in their icon) but it being Yellow or Purple was so much easier to see at a glance

  • Quit forever is the best counter

I hear Civilization is pretty good :D

This is for the first time I am seeing someone saying "Lets make everyone on Nurse level" topic.

So I would say most killer players, including me, don't asking for this.

I don't need every killer be at least A+ tier. But I don't want them to be C or lower too. I think B / A is a good middle ground.

    This

Right now I'd wager a good half of the killer list is impotent against survivors who actually know what they're doing (and I'd argue even 3/4 the cast is impotent against a 4 man swf who knows what they're doing, if not higher).

People complain that all they see are Blight and Nurse but somehow can't make the connection for WHY they only see Nurse and Blight. Those two are the only two who seem to have a fighting chance against a 4 man competent SWF squad so many killer have decided why risk getting slapped around like a survivors personal punching bag.

  • I've gotten to the point where I let the killer take me out again if the survivor does a stupid unhook in the killers face. I'm not going to run away for long enough for that jerk to get a "safe unhook" only to go down a few seconds later because they decided to unhook me without BT when the killer has taken two steps away from the hook.

As killer, it's baffling to me how many survivors throw the entire damn game because I can take two steps and they're already unhooking (and then I'M the camping jerk when for some reason I just turn right around and swing my weapon). I generally will not hook the unhooked in that situation as I know exactly what it feels like to have a teammate screw you over like that (as long as you don't try to bodyblock me because that changes my source of irk from the jerk teammate who unhooked you in a stupid position to you who is trying to use what should have been a defensive perk into a weapon against me so now I'm waiting the 12 seconds or whatever it is and putting you right back up on the hook).
