Iād put Spirit in there too. I never see her :(
...now that you mention it, I cannot remember the last time I played Spirit
Saw her a ton "pre-nerf" but I legit can't remember the last time I've played a Spirit (same with Deathslinger, pre-nerf he wasn't as popular as Spirit but once that nerf came down, they walked into the lake, never to come back up again).
-
I played Pinhead a few times until I got bully squaded because he's basically the lowest tier M1 killer you can have against a SWF team
Does that count?
-
I've done something similar in the past
If I've gotten a few bully squads and are therefore getting frustrated, I will sometimes throw NOED onto a M1 killer. I'll still play as normal and just kind of gauge the match. If they're being good survivors and not A-holes about it, I've actually NOED'ed people down and then carried them to the gate (I know I shouldn't feel like NOED is a "cheap" kill, that's stupid BS that people use to "shame" killers out of using a perk but honestly, I still can't quite shake that feeling when I get a NOED down).
But if they were another squad of jerks, well...NOED is the Ace in the Hole I need to take at least one of them down.
-
There isn't one (or at least there isn't a good one).
The only argument I've ever heard was it would help killers tunnel more like killers have the memory of a goldfish and can't remember the survivor they just downed (maybe this is my fault though for thinking of the actual definition of tunneling, not the "that killer downed me two minutes ago and now downed me again after patrolling gens and not finding anyone, what a dirty tunneler!!!!" definition).
If multiple BPS get used, I try my very best to hook everyone twice and let them go since survivors get way more points for surviving than I do for death hooking them. A counter would prevent those few times when I lose track and/or mix up survivors on their death hook.
-
Probably!
Not cause of DBD, just in general for my screwy brain :D
-
Why would you go through the trouble to put bots into the game only to have them AFK or try to Suicide on Hook? If anything, that's going to make their survivor base even more unhappy as a 3v1 scenario right away is virtually unwinnable for the vast majority of players no matter how good they are (and hell, probably make the killer base unhappy too because many killers find themselves damned if they do damned if they don't in that situation).
I imagine it's the same reason why you see AFK Killers; they want to derank and have determined that ruining the game for four players is worth them being able to go against weaker opponents.
-
It's the curse of the game
When I play survivor, I get toddlers who accidentally turned on DBD and booted a game up when their parents drunkenly passed out and the toddler started chewing on the controller. I am not allowed to have competence on my team, it's a rule or something.
When I play killer, I...also a lot of times get toddlers who accidentally turned on DBD and booted a game up when their parents drunkenly passed out and the toddler started chewing on the controller. Or I get Seal Team SWF who have are treating a game of DBD like a raid on a terrorist masterminds home and they can't raise the alarm from the 30 guards patrolling or else they fail their mission as the bad guy has a stand-by escape helicopter at all times. Unfortunately for me as a killer, neither of those games are very fun...

*Yeets the Narrator off the cliffs of Vormir*
-
4 survivor games today, 3 games with (at least) one DC so far
:D
Ha haaaa....kill me
EDIT: Does Suicide on Hook count too? Because if so, 5 survivor games with 4 :D
-
Survivors cannot see that line
If the Artist hits a survivor through the wall with the birds, they will only circle, no matter how close they are. Unless you are already being circled by birds, then it will hurt you

sounds like you about to be looking for a new game bucko
We shall see. "BHVR has totally been adding bots to the game any second now guys!" for like...two damn years :D
-
I have zero desire to play against bots
I'd quit the game before I'd accept bots being in the standard multiplayer pool of players
If you want bots for a practice mode or if you want basic bots for when someone DCs, sure, that's fine but I do not play a multiplayer game to play against a computer. If I wanted to play against a computer, I'd be playing a singleplayer game.
And no, as a killer, I don't just want 4Ks every game. I want the game to be fun. I can have a blast getting 0 Kills and I can be absolutely miserable in a 4K game depending on what is happening during said game.
-
Way too many. Someone needs to take this adulting ability to do what I want away from me...
As of right now, I have 94 Days, 3 Hours, and 41 Minutes into DBD
I would wager that the split is about 65% killer to 35% survivor as I generally play after work and I generally play whatever queue is fastest (which is almost always killer at that time). I play survivor mostly on the weekends when I can play during the day when the queue is better.
-
Because it adds it's own little twist and element to deal with
While you can't see, if you are either really paying attention or really lucky, you can still run loops and do stuff while your vision is all fuzzy. It's basically the equivalent of being flashlight blinded as a killer but still hitting a survivor while blind because you predicted their movement and/or got really lucky.
-
I do not play on PC so I haven't played him but it doesn't really sound like a rework and more importantly, never fixed everyone's frustration with him, the wildly inconsistent reveal mechanic
I don't know if they did behind the scenes stuff to make it better so they count that as a rework but as long as revealing Ghostface is still broken, I have no interest in any other kinds of "rework" they do
-
Bubba's powers are very strong against survivors who are not keeping a good situational awareness.
While it's not impossible for a very good Bubba to still manage a chainsaw hit in a heavy obstacle area, the vast majority of chainsaw downs I've gotten as someone who regularly plays Bubba is people I catch out in the open. If you're in an area with stuff in the way, I either risk bumping into it to (giving you a good few seconds to leave, unless you decide to run face first into me I guess) or being forced to M1 because you'll get to a window before I can chainsaw you.
-
It's in-between chapters right now
Give it a few weeks and the next "season pass" will start
-
Well this is BHVR so my guess is they'll make some kind of nerf that does absolutely nothing to deal with WHY killers hate the perk so much (like they'll make the exhaustion time 45 seconds to 50 seconds).
Then people will get to claim it's been nerfed so it's no big deal anymore so we don't need to do anything about it anymore.
-
The 50/50 ratio is overall I am guessing. Which unfortunately usually means that 4 people escape in one trial and 4 people dying in one trial.
I'll give you three guesses to figure out what survivor playerbase is the 4K and what survivor playerbase is the 4 escapes...
-
I mean...it depends on what exactly you were doing with the flashlight saves, which your screenshot wouldn't show (though you using not Head On gives you the benefit of the doubt).
I've been facing more and more two or more SWF teams where they have flashlights, head on and just sprint to lockers. If I chase one, they lead me right to the locker to get head on'ed. If I am about to catch one, they jump in the locker and force me to catch them there, where there flashlight buddy is waiting for me to open the locker for a free save because there's nothing I can do about it. If I ignore the two jerks, the gens get hammered because those two just go do gens until I go near them again, in which they run right back to the shack to do the whole dance over again.
You're God damn right I'm going to slug those people and let them lie there and think about why they're now in time out...
If all you did was use a flashlight, then the killer can stop being such a baby about it

i think its time for a new cat
Half of me really wants to get another cat cause everything I keep reading says cats do much better in pairs
But half of me likes the work and cost of one cat and getting another gives me twice the work and the cost...
Also to say something on topic, the game is what it is unfortunately. I've learned to live with it. Eventually I might decide it's no longer worth the hassle. I already don't play the game as much as I used to as the quality of matches for me has plummeted to Earth. I imagine my quitting of this game will be a whimper, not a bang.

Bond only reveals the incompetence of your team. You removing Bond doesn't remove their incompetence.
If anything, it let's me know when I can feel fine sandbagging the hiding guy versus when I should turn left away from the one teammate who knows what they're doing.

I like to have sugar cookies with tea.
I just made some wicked sugar cookies!
(We're doing a company potluck thing tomorrow so I found a Crumbl Sugar Cookie Copy Cat Recipe and have tried it out. I don't know how widespread Crumbl is but they're a gourmet cookie place where it's like...$5 a cookie but they're super good so these things have some big shoes to fill...)
Unfortunately it "only" makes twelve and there are twelve of us on the team so I'm going to have to wait until tomorrow to see how they stack up...
-
What is your favorite type of cookie?
-
Hell, the system is already in place
I'm guessing everyone forgot it existed because no one ever does it (because it does nothing) but there is a Thumbs Up button in the game. It seems like it would be pretty easy to make it actually do something instead of doing nothing as it currently stands.
-
I've...gotten better but it's not great still
The counseling I did helped a lot. I think I've said this but I had experienced chronic headaches for almost 2 years that are mostly gone now and did counseling to help. Part was depression (anyone who has ever had chronic pain can attest that it's REAL easy to get into a pit of "will it ever not hurt") and part of it was anger.
His best advice he had given was to use all your senses when things are going bad. For DBD, feel your controller. Look around you. Take a deep breath through your nose. Take a sip of water. Hear the sounds around your house. Basically by focusing on things around you, you "reset" your mind.
I still struggle badly with it at times and to be blunt, I really shouldn't be playing a game like DBD where there are things baked in the game designed to piss you off but I'm not that smart yet :D

I hate this perk on console. It's like trying to carry a survivor through a hurricane
This
All of this
100% this
I just made a thread about this where I lost about half my hooks on RPD because of that stupid perk and BHVRs insistence to design everything with a Mouse and Keyboard in mind and just forgetting and/or not caring that a large chunk of their player base uses a controller
You can keep all the buffs on it you want but allow me to be able to actually get to a hook that doesn't have a football field wide straight shot to it or else you risk not getting there because you get caught on every. single. little. thing. on. the. way. to. the. hook (and may God have mercy on your soul if you're at an indoor map...)

Boil over is getting nerfed again in mid chapter
they're reverting the wiggle swaying thing back to what it was before it's buff, which I think was 70 or 80%?
Oh thank God
I assumed it was mid-chapter that it was coming out but they sent that one tweet that specifically talked about it so I figured that maybe it had come out then.
It sounds like the stupid amount of sway is remaining the same so it'll still be incredibly frustrating as a console killer until they remember that controllers exist but at least it might give me enough time to not get caught on one doorway and have zero chance to hook the person now...
-
I do too! Hi five!!!

I just finished RE3 (damn that was a short game, they weren't kidding when they said the remake cut a bunch). Does that count?

Is this the new FNAFs where any time anything remotely related to Stranger Things is a sign that Stranger Things is coming to DBD?
I swear every other day we've had a "Stranger Things is coming back!!!!" thread...
-
These subtle hacks are even worse than the obvious ones. Obvious ones I can just blow those games off because whatcha gonna do? But subtle hackers...
Are they hacking? Am I just playing badly? Did I miss that swing or did they cheat? Did they actually time DH that well or is it an auto one and I'm wasting my time "baiting" it? Where the hell did that guy go, I was RIGHT on him? Did he cheat or did he just trick me with some fancy footwork? Where did my pants go (that might be unrelated to DBD, still investigating).
It's even worse cause I know I've had games with a subtle hacker who did a poor job of the subtle part but they did EVERYTHING to be super annoying to get me to waste my time chasing them. Lucky for me I figured it out real quick but how much time do players burn chasing after a uncatchable player before they realize it (and at that point, the damage is done as gens are popping like popcorn now)...
-
You should not be sorry for it. BHVR should be sorry that their awful reporting system is the way it is. This would be embarassingly archaic 20 years ago.
I imagine most people don't even know how to properly report and then the ones that do (like myself) don't bother to because it takes so GD long and I'm not going to waste my free time policing a game BHVR should be policing
-
I think it'll be a much shorter list if you ask any high ranking MMR killers who are HAPPY with the current state of the game. A lot less writing for you to have to do.
There's bound to be the oddball every so often but I would wager that most High Ranking MMR Killers are quite unhappy with the state of the game as BHVR for whatever reason balances around low level play and just let's the high level MMR killers be survivor punching bags.
-
As a killer, I have a few scenarios (assuming I even feel like it, which isn't always) for when people get a free Hatch. Someone impressing me in a chase is one of them (well at least assuming they didn't just E to tell the killer to F off as survivors using DH has gone onto my "No Hatch for you" list).
It's not something that is super common as if they're that good at chases, they have either found the Hatch themselves at this point or they've lost me but I've had that happen a few times where I knock them out seconds away from the Hatch and I'll just walk away.
As a survivor, it feels super random but I suppose that's to be expected. Every single killer is going to have their own criteria (I know at least once I got the Hatch because of my running skills since they were streaming and they specifically said that if the opportunity presented itself, Tippy would be getting the Hatch) but that's kind of to be expected. Hell, even for myself, my rules can change based on how I'm feeling that day so I don't expect any of my rules to be followed by my opponents.
-
Agreed
...not much else to add. It's annoying and about 99% of the time it's done just to annoy the killer (probably 100% of the time but maybe there's a 1% time that I'm not thinking of where it is actually the appropriate thing to do but I can't think of one situation where that would be the case).
-
There's never going to be a consensus unfortunately
Let's say for funsy it was declared right here and now that X equals camping and every single person on the forum agreed that X equals camping
The forum is what....MAYBE 2% of the entire playbase? And I think I might be generous in that assessment...
-
The Entity had a bad burrito and thought They'd have enough time to get back
-
It's amazing that Dead Hard can be so incredibly bad but every killer hates it and a good 75% of the survivors run it...
Am I so out of touch? No, it's the children who are wrong.
I get it, survivors don't want their super perk messed with but it would be great if people just said that instead of pretending like it's no big deal and it's merely a fun coincidence that the vast majority of players use it.
-
@Shaped said:
I love toying with some survs when I run it. You can do some pretty cruel things.
I had two clicker buddies recently and one was on the hook, they didn't know about my add on. I was tap away from tp btw. Their friend came for the unhook stunning and brave and got tombstoned before their friends very eyes. Then I looked at at the one on the hook and turned left and right (telling them that there is no way out of this).
Tombstone piece makes me really feel like the killer sometimes. I never get that feeling with other killers even if I 4k at 5 gens hooking people.
I'm so bad with Tombstone Myers because for some reason I always want to save it to do something super funny and/or cool with it.
Then everyone leaves because I never actually used it on anyone D:

Bond! (at least in Solo Queue, less necessarily obviously for 3 or 4 man SWFs)
Information is king in this game. Knowing where to go when you're hurt. Knowing where to go when someone else is hurt. Knowing where to go when gens are being worked on.
Sometimes, knowing where NOT to go can be just as important (how often have you had teammates accidentally bring the killer right to the gen you're working on when it's just about to pop?).
Bond can also give you important information, even indirectly. Like if you can hear the heartbeat but see your teammate running around erratically downstairs on Midwich, you can be mostly certain that the killer is down there chasing said teammate, allowing you to keep hammering that upstairs gen instead of stepping away and wasting time hiding from a killer that is not near you.
Or if you're feeling like a vindictive little jerk like I do at times, you can "accidentally" bring the killer to the Claudette who has spent the entire damn match hiding in the bushes š
-
I just try to get whatever points I can. I'm not going to just hide and make the boring match go longer than it has to. I'll sit on that gen until I get chased then run around until I go down.
Then depending on how South this South has gotten, I'll suicide on hook (if it's 2 v 1 or something with 4 gens left so literally zero chance to come back) or I'll play as normal, hanging around until someone saves me and go back to the gens.
-
Some survivors be so salty that you gotta hit up your doctor after a match to make sure you didn't get heart damage
Just ignore them (and try not to eat too much of the salt, that's bad for your heart and I want you to be healthy!)
-
That was always my favorite logic of it too that the OoO users kept dying a bunch so therefore it's fine
Almost like when a killer got into a OoO SWF match, the only one they COULD actually go after successfully was the OoO user...
But I'm sure that's just a coincidence

the fact that the first reply that I've gotten in 8 months is warning me not to go back to DBD is simultaneously entirely expected and disappointing lol
TBF, I am like...53% kidding!
I have such a love/hate relationship with this game that I honestly do feel like I'd be better off if I just flat out quit the damn thing. Lots of frustration and unfun and sadness to be had in the game.
BUT...
When it does actually fire off on all cylinders, this can be one of the funnest gaming experiences one can have
It's just unfortunate they seem to come so rarely now :,(
