    • • Platform : PC(steam)
    • • Description of the issue : See below
    • • Steps to reproduce (if possible) : After updating to the 5.7.0 Mid-Chapter, use "Barbecue & Chilli".
    • • How often does this occur : Constantly

When I finished a match using "Barbecue & Chilli", the MATCH BLOODPOINTS EARNED screen showed POST-GAME BONUS, which was added to the MATCH scores.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/40KN26KCJDWY/bc1.png

However, in the 5.7.0 Mid-Chapter, the POST-GAME BONUS is not displayed.

The display does not add to either the MATCH score or the TOTAL score. So I proceed to the MATCH SCOREBOARD screen and then back to the MATCH BLOODPOINTS EARNED screen again and it shows the scores added to the TOTAL only.

Supposedly it is only a visual bug (as in you still earn that extra BP but it's not displaying it correctly)

  • Yeah, I don't really understand the fuss. The biggest boost given to them (5 chain hits) takes a survivor team of such incompetence that it might as well not exist. I suppose once in a blue moon it might happen by sheer luck/accident but overall survivors have to feed the Legion five hits for you to pull it off.

The other changes were nice but I don't feel like anything Legion got was all that wonderful.

Except their new chase music of course. That ish is straight fire.

  • I figure there are three achievements I will almost certainly never get, that one being one of them with Skulled Huntress (down 20 survivors farther than 20 Meters, which is damn difficult on the awful console control) and From the Void She Kills (which I think might actually be impossible now without just farming it, chain 3 blinks and grab a survivor successfully) being the other two.

The rest of them I can see myself getting (or have as I have 176 out of 190 of them with most that I'm missing just ones I haven't taken the time to focus on like Adepts or downing X amount of survivors with a certain power). That one and Void were created when this was a very different game and I'm not sure how doable they are without someone just straight up letting you get it.

  • Recent head trauma?

(I actually haven't played as him yet so I have no idea what it sounds like, I just wanted to make the joke)

  • Nope

I play multiplayer games to play against people, not robots. If I wanted to play against robots, I'd go play a single player game

That's not to say I think it would be bad to add for people who WOULD use it. I just have no interest and as long as you keep bots out of the normal queue, I'm fine with it

  • I imagine they'd like to but their code is so wonky they'd somehow make it so that every 5 seconds the killer loses collision and falls through the bottom of the map or something...

  • I was saying Boourns

  • I guess I should have too cause my "Update" is 44.28 GB big!!!!

That's literally the entire game on Xbox. I'm assuming it's just redownloading everything cause I can't imagine the patch is doubling the size of the game...

EDIT: Oh I guess I missed Mandy's post above cause that explains it

  • Well when you do, I expect a picture! Don't make me Facecamp it out of you, I'll do it!!!

I do insist and I appreciate it!

    Sigh.

No, you're being divisive by cherrypicking historical facts.

The British, French, Spanish, Arab, Portuguese, Chinese and Japanese were for the most part the only groups that engaged in international conquest because they had seagoing capability, and nobody else really did for a while. But I'm not sure why you make a distinction between conquest over the ocean and conquest within Africa - considering that the distance covered by the Bantu expansion is more than most of the sea-routes you are talking about. Conquest is conquest, and the end result is much the same - whether it was the British pushing the San out of the Cape or the Bantus pushing the San out of the Midlands.

Apartheid was Jim Crow by another name, and that was just bog standard segregation. It was bad, but probably more humane for the most part than genocide or caste systems, which were the equivalent in other countries at the time. Apartheid is both a complicated issue and one that I know a great deal about, so we can get into that one more if you'd like.

And no, I think that - these days - people who obsess over histories that we can do nothing to change and were also how we ended up with the increasingly diverse and prosperous planet...yes, those are the people being divisive. All it does is set up further cycles of injustice - if you want to oppress your former oppressors, in a generation they will come back and oppress you in turn.

We need to put history where it belongs.

    In the past.

Then we need to get over race as a concept, or at least relegate it to the same moral relevancy as we do hair color or handedness.

Then we need to get into space, which will be where most of our other issues fix themselves.

That does not count. Any animals are acceptable but it does have to be an animal of some kind, not part of you.

  • Very few people post pictures of their pets even though I specifically request everyone to share pictures 😡

If you have a pet, I want to see them damn it!!!!

I felt like sharing this with you. I was at my godfather's, and he wanted to take a shower and found that lying there.

Look at him. He's thinking about you lying about giving Holly to me.

    Pretty kitty!

I didn't lie, I put the stamp on Holly and everything but she just sat there and looked at me. I told her she was supposed to go to your place but she determined she didn't want to walk that far.

Also also, Holly also likes to play in the bathtub for some reason. I wonder why that is, especially since cats stereotypically don't like water (Holly does not like water but likes to play in the tub with her little mice toys, most mornings I need to toss the mouse out of my tub).

  • I was actually going to wait until I got home and then snap a new pic and do a bunch of rainbows and whatnot but this thread is going to Sadville quick so Holly is here to try to get it fixed and back on the track to Glaadsville instead.

  • While it's not a BP code, you can get a picture of Holly anyway. She's mad that there are people whining about Pride Flags being in the game, hence she looks so unhappy.

    PXL_20220415_010646559.jpg

  • I thought they said they fixed that

I'm on Xbox so I've never had that issue but isn't that why the last update was like 5,000 GB big?

  • You can replace Trapper with any M1 killer and get the same results

    Math is fun!

    *Happy Chainsaw Screeching Noises*

  • Not even a Devotion 20?

    Pathetic.png

  • This might sound strange to many here but I still really don't care about whether I can "win" every match. I care about whether I can have fun every match.

Going up against a 4 man bully squad who makes it their mission to make the game as miserable as possible for you isn't fun, regardless of whether I get to kill them all or not.

  • While I do my best to play "sportingly", I am also more than willing to return what is given to me

If they played as normal and just had flashlights, so be it. But I imagine they did not do that as teams who last second all swap to flashlights don't ever do that.

If they want to play dirty, I'm not afraid to play dirty either. You can play a round of "Lie here on the floor" simulator if you want to play these games.

  • Unfortunately it is relatively normal

I'm on Xbox so I don't get a ton of messages as it's a lot more work to send messages on console but I've never received messages complaining about something I did, something they did, something I used, something I didn't use, something a teammate did, etc than I do in this game.

It's...baffling how GD whiny so many players in this game are and how many "unwritten rules" that you are required to follow in order to play correctly this player base has.

I just reply LOL (or LOL-like phrases) to everything. There's no need to argue with anyone who thinks you're an awful human being that deserves to die for having the audacity to kill their digital character in a game where your goal is to kill their digital character...

  • You'd have to be able to recreate that a bunch of times to even consider that this might possibly be something other than completely blind luck

Like I got stabbed ONTO the Hatch once

    https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1242602075

(I don't know why the clip now has all of a sudden started cutting off their instead of a second later when I flop into the Hatch but you can see it well enough that it works)

  • I have no idea my rating but I imagine it's relatively high (or maybe it's super low, who knows!). If I can avoid taking the stun, I will. Usually I will do the stutter step to either get them to throw down without hitting me.

This also comes in handy later as some of the craftier survivors see me do this in the beginning, in which case then I take the swing and go for the hit (and risk taking the stun). Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't but I've found that faking the swing the first go around will allow me to connect with the swing the second time around.

  • The more a survivor bullies her, the stronger she gets!

I imagine it'll take about 7 minutes of a single match to surpass The Entity itself...

  • @[Deleted User] said:

No one is going to opt to play against swf.

This means people that play with their friends will just stop playing, because they won't be able to find a match.

    The game would die.

    This

Obviously not every single team is SEAL TEAM SWF who will make it their mission to make sure that not only do you lose but it's as humiliating as humanly possible, why would a killer ever even risk having to go up against that at any point?

While we don't know exactly how many players are SWF, it's been said that it is more than 50% (granted, this is ALL SWF so twosomes and threesomes are included) and I imagine a large chunk of that group would just not play anymore if the option to play with their friends was essentially stripped away.

  • So instead of getting figuratively robbed a down by having them Press E to erase a mistake, you literally get robbed a down by them just running into you as the killer when you're actively carrying a survivor you caught to a hook...

Did you mean to write "less infuriating"? Because this seems like the exact opposite of less infuriating...

  • I like that they were added as a "Risk/Reward" thing for the killer but except for The Game, there is literally no reward and all risk to keeping a breakable door up (I suppose to an extent the one in Badham that helps close off the one loop is good too).

Breaking the doors is just more busy work for the killer to do because I guess they felt like killer was just too easy going with not a whole lot to do and no real time crunch to that side.

  • While they are very dumb, naming and shaming is against the rules of the forum so I'd recommend removing the screenshot or blurring the name

  • Yes, going Xbox to Xbox would be good

I got my Series X last year and had no issues with my data moving over

  • Funsy?

There are a bunch of perks that really seem like having a cooldown on them makes zero sense...

  • I don't watch streamers because video games are an interactive medium and I have no desire to sit around and watch someone else play a video game

The closest thing I do is I follow people like SpookNJukes on Youtube for their more unique videos like the "Calling out Toxic Streamers" kind of series. But just sitting there watching streamers play a video game, any video game, is not something that intrigues me at all

  • BHVR should do more codes because for every code that is posted on the forum, a picture of Holly is also posted

Don't you want more pictures of Holly BHVR? She's here, ready for her close up, and adorable!

I use EGC to pressure survivors. I will open the door myself to force them to come and save earlier instead of searching for le precious NOED. And obviously you run down the timer for Blood Warden. Might as well abuse it, in my opinion.

You certainly can make it useful for you as a killer (and good killers find ways to do so). Hell, as one of five people who run Bloodwarden, I'm very familiar with using EGC to my advantage.

It's function though is to put a cap on the game's time in the end game, no more no less. Adding ways to force it to go faster is the opposite of why EGC exists.

  • EGC is still not for putting pressure on anyone

EGC is to make sure the game ends. You might be stuck there for two minutes because the survivors are too busy jerking each other off to leave but it's going to end in two minutes. EGC is doing the job it is designed to do.

  • I'd find it annoying if it wasn't so GD predictable. At this point, I just assume that all survivors are going to waste my and their time being annoying at the gate. I'll wander around and either use my powers or find stuff to break. If neither of those things are an option, I'll just go chill away from the gates because if you get the extra annoying survivor, they'll start vault spamming so you need to be far enough away so that you don't have it trigger.

  • Not whipping the controller into the wall when you've gotten your third bully squad in a row that night

Or if that doesn't count as "In Game", getting those ridiculous Archive Challenges done from Tome 1 (Six Feed Under and Fight Back)

  • If a killer doesn't just drop you on the open hatch (or let you wiggle off), they're doing it to close the Hatch in your face. There's literally no other reason to drop a survivor a few feet away from the Hatch. I just lie there and make them either leave the area (so I know they're not going to close the Hatch in my face if this was simply a zany misunderstanding) or wait until they get bored with it and hook me.

  • There are a LOT of things in this game that BHVR thinks are perfectly fine.

I'm still relatively certain that someone on the dev team has an insider bet on how far they can mess with the killers before it kills the game. But he/she is the only one in on the bet so they need to add stuff that angers killers greatly but they can't make it too obvious so they "nerf" the perks in ways that don't actually fix any of the actual problems killers have it with (see also Boil Over, at least on a controller)

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2908811#Comment_2908811

My first question would be did they TELL you they were a SWF post game or did you come to that conclusion based on their gameplay? If it's the latter, I can promise you I have made perfectly coordinated plays with randos and coordination does not equal SWF. If you got confirmation they were SWF, then carry on.

To the latter point, the last time I played for about 5 hours, I ran into 3 demogorgons in that time so I honestly just think it's region based, time of day, whose online, etc.

I also think DBD has a large echo chamber issue where people in the community go with what they hear a lot either through the forums, from big streamers, from youtube videos, etc.

    • Someone finds out you can sit in front of the Pig's trap box and get free RNG kills, posts about it on the forums, all of a sudden everyone is running into killers doing the same thing.
    • Someone complains that "X killer" is too weak, makes a youtube video about it, all of a sudden less people are playing X killer and also think X killer is too weak even though they were just fine playing said killer a week ago.

Every opinion on the forums is taken as objective truth by people with similar experiences and then that gets echoed into the games

They did not but you realize that's even worse then, right?

If they were not a SWF, a four pack of strangers was able to completely neuter the powers of a killer. Pinhead was turned into the most basic of basic M1 killers by a group of strangers who were just good at coordinating who goes to pick up the box and who stays on the gens.

I'm assuming they were a SWF based on the sheer level of coordination they had but you make a good point, it doesn't have to be a 4 Man SWF to render 75% of the killer base unviable as long as they're all doing their job as survivor.

  • @dugman said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2908764#Comment_2908764

Actually the reason 75% of the killers are rarely seen is mostly that there are 27 killers so the average pick rate for a given killer is 1 in 27 matches. Some killers are picked more than that, others less, but the mathematical average is if you play twice a night you’ll only see a given killer about twice a month or so. Even the popular killers aren’t as popular as some people think, if I remember right Huntress was the most popular overall at something like 8%? (Huntress being used frequently isn’t surprising since she’s pretty decent and also a free character.) Among the dlc killers I think Blight was next most popular but that’s still less than 1/10 matches. Unfortunately I haven’t noticed a data pull by a high MMR survivor of which killers they faced and it would be interesting to see how those percentages compare to the broader numbers.

Anyway, getting off that tangent, yeah, you will probably get beaten by a full swf of solid survivors. But unless you’re an exceptionally good killer player you will get beat in that scenario regardless of what you play. And if the survivors in a swf are only average players and you are an above average killer player you’ll probably win regardless of your loadout. These balance differences really only alter the outcome much when both sides are making few misplays. The great majority of the time if someone loses playing as Legion it’s because they got outplayed, not because it was Legion instead of Blight or Nurse.

Would it be nice if everything was balanced to the point that even at tournament level play it didn’t matter character or loadout you have? Sure, who wouldn’t want that. It’s probably a pipe dream to expect that level of refinement though since there’s so many interconnected parts to a game like this there’s always going to be some things that work better than others in perfect play settings. The most you can really hope for is tweaking things enough so in the bulk of the games there aren’t things which really sway matches too much either way and hopefully keep that gap to a minimum. Continual adjustments over time are still useful but the game will always have something to tweak, it can’t be the only thing the devs do.

See, I completely disagree with the "reason why 75% aren't chosen thing"

I've had nights where I played as Pinhead and got absolutely manhandled. I couldn't do a damn thing against the SWF (and Pinhead is absolutely worthless against a SWF as that stupid box is the only thing that makes him remotely bearable to play as for a M1 killer).

After that match, I played nothing but Leatherface that night because I didn't want to deal with that again (at least with LF, if I run into a bully squad, at least one of them are going down with me no matter what *Happy Chainsaw Screeching Noises*). As much as I'd like to pretend that I'm a special little flower in a world of weeds, I can't imagine my experience is all that unique to me. I still do flip flop back to M1 killers at times but I can't imagine it's a stretch to think that at least some of the killer base gets into a few matches like that and decides "F this" and not do it again.

Ultimately it's not impossible that you're right and the pick rate is this because of the sheer amount of characters, I just have a hard time believing it because I constantly get Nurses and Blights. I can't even tell you the last time I saw a Spirit or a Pinhead or a Demodoggo or Doctor. Though I'm sure there are other factors in there too like region or time or whatnot.

  • Honestly, I weirdly kind of enjoy when that happens

For one, I know that anything that happens in that game is kind of null and void. If I get my arse handed to me, so be it. That's probably more of a "me" mindset than anything but I know that these four are going to be sweaty edgelords of jerkdom and play accordingly. Which is where the fun begins...

I do my very best to be a "fair" killer. No tunnel, no camping, no slugging, etc except in very rare circumstances. But if you pull that kind of stunt on me? You best believe I'm going to do my very best to take some of you down with me. It helps too because you know if they're doing that, you know exactly what they're going to be trying to do all match and can flip it on them (pick up always facing walls or fake pickups and wait for the flashlight guy to pop out so you can slap them).

I had a game like that a few weeks ago where I ultimately slug everyone and let them play "Lie here on the floor" simulator. They needed to be given a time out and time to think about what they did 😈

  • @dugman said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2908736#Comment_2908736

I think what the original post it getting at is the great majority of players are at tournament levels and that the reason they lose games isn’t balance differences in characters but skill difference in between them and the groups that beat them. And that the definition of “viable” for a lot of people seems to mean “viable for average matches”, not “viable for tournament play”, but in fact all the killers are currently perfectly fine for average matches. Those balance gaps only really matter when both sides aren’t making mistakes, if either side is making errors those far outweigh character and loadout selection.

The problem with this and my entire point of my first post here is that when you DO go up against those good squads, there is nothing 75% of the killer characters can do about it as we're all just average players going up against other average players. The differences between someone like Trapper or Doctor versus someone like Nurse or Blight is immense against a team with even baby levels of coordinating.

There's a reason why 75% of the killer characters are so rarely picked in this game. Sure, you might not be going against a 4 Man SWF every single game in the average match but if I choose to play as Trapper, I risk running into one of those squads and getting absolutely manhandled the entire game.

It might not happen every single game but all it takes for most players I imagine is one bad night where you get a few of those matches in a row (especially if you get a Bully Squad SWF) for players to either just swear off the 75% or as we've been seeing, swear off playing killer period.

  • @RakimSockem said:

    At your skill level though.

Again I'll restate, if someone else can use the same killers that you can't and can perform well with them (whether it be Otz, Scott Jund, any top tier DBD player), then the issue is not the killer. It's your current skill level

So all a killer player needs to do is become a professional level player in order to play as 75% of the killer roster?

Well that sounds easy enough, brb, I'm gonna go do that.

  • @dugman said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2908308#Comment_2908308

To be fair, Mandy commented a while back that the devs also wish they had a built in replay system for reporting (and just in general) but apparently it was determined that the way the game is built it's impractical to try and make one at this point. It's a bummer because I definitely agree that players having to figure out how to manually record their own games using third party software and attach those videos to tickets on the website is truly byzantine. And I imagine it's a pain for their customer service people too since it means they probably get a ton of tickets with bad attachments and no attachments, etc.

I mean this as nice as I can saying something very unnice

That's not my problem BHVR. If ifs and buts were candy and nuts, we'd all have a Merry Christmas.

Your reporting system is bad and you should feel bad.

  • About 75% of the roster is dead in the water going up against a 4 man SWF with even the tiniest amount of cooperation.

Whether that is because the 4 man SWF is too powerful or the 75% of the killer class is too weak is a moot point for me as a killer player when dealing with the 4 man SWF.

  • Yup. Everyone except for BHVR seems to be very unhappy with how awful the reporting system is.

Ooo resident evil is always a good one! You excited for res 4 remake?, cant say much about the others as iv only dabbled in them. My misses says good things about life is strange.

How long has DBD been on GP? I own GP but I brought DBD on its console release too many years ago and I'm still here lol

I started playing DBD in February of 2020 so...at least 2 years :D

I'm curious about the RE4 remake but not super curious. RE4 was the start of the new gameplay style so RE2/RE3 getting the remakes brought way more to the table.

I suppose if they do a big story overhaul like they did with RE2/RE3, I'd consider getting it once they do a full blown remake of it.

  • DBD is the only multiplayer game I play. I generally shy away from multiplayer games because they can be super frustrating and anger inducing and I seem to constantly get my arse kicked by kids who play for 20 hours a day who...oh God...it's DBD!!!

Anyway, I play just about anything that is good. The nice thing about Game Pass is there are a lot of games I may not have considered trying but could because it was "Free" on Game Pass (...including DBD. OH GOD!!!!!).

I just finished RE3make and have been flip flopping between wanting to finally start Dark Souls since it's been on THE LIST for a long time (and with my Discords all going nutter butters over Elden Ring, it makes me want to jump into a Fromsoft game), Cyberpunk (Bought it for $10 months ago and have been waiting for it to stop being garbage on console, which I have heard it has hit that point now), and LIfe is Strange True Colors (Love those games and I was super happy it showed up on GP).

I booted up Dark Souls so there's a decent chance that I will go with that but I don't do a good job of starting games. I pretty consistently start a game, play for 15 minutes, wander away, then come back for 15 more minutes, wander away, then whine about how the game isn't grabbing me (maybe give it more than 15 minutes Tippy? Shut up Tippy!)

  • Although this is my third game in five with the Nurse. She's....a KIND of Spirit! (Please say this in the Lionel Hutz voice, thank you)

    That counts, right?

1 … 43 44 45 46 47 … 97
