I love Trick R Treat, it's such a good movie and I'm sad for you that last year was your first time seeing it because that means you missed out on years of rewatching it. If you haven't you should watch Krampus, probably do that one closer to Christmas.
I don't get dressed up for Halloween anymore, I used to go all out but now I spend my money/time on carving pumpkins and decorations instead of costumes. This year think I'll carve some turnips since they look creepy and I can hang them.
I hear it's getting a theatrical release even this year so I should see if it is around here and then I can force everyone I know to come with to watch it

Honestly, if you play the game often enough, the Battlepass itself is a pretty dang good deal. I paid for it once when I started playing this game over two years ago. I haven't paid for it again since.
I guess I wouldn't really care either way but I don't see why BHVR would do that. They'd literally just be giving their money away since the Battlepass comes with Cells.

As the other two here have said, you win some and you lose some. Sometimes you get outplayed, sometimes you get unlucky, sometimes your head is out of the game, and sometimes they're just way better than you.
You take your L and move into the next match

The new item you unlock if a killer is facecamping for too long looks promising
-
It's perfectly fine
Though granted, a lot of that is just because my life in general with these new Happy Pills have made a big difference. Having a bit of a quick trigger temper has always made this game a pretty bad idea for me but since getting these fellas, my life in general has gotten better but ESPECIALLY my life in things in that used to frustrate the hell out of me and trigger anger episodes have gotten immensely better (so mainly DBD and golf :D).
As a killer, I don't feel nearly the amount of frustration and anger that I used to. Some of that is probably the Happy Pills but at least some of that has been the big changes to the game that has made playing as a killer far less frustrating (namely Dead Hard going away). As a survivor, I seem to be one of the few that actually really like the changes that were made to survivor side as I've found it has made the trials a lot harder to escape from, which personally I greatly enjoy. While it has probably skewed too far to the killer side, I'm playing against a lot more variety of killers since people don't feel like they have to play Nurse or Blight to have a snowballs chance in hell anymore and I'd much rather do that and die more often than constantly play the two same killers over and over again.
While there are certainly still changes that could be made to the game, my relationship with this game is the best place it has ever been at.

I plan on watching Edgerunners once I finish the game
I'm not sure how far I am into the game as I have no idea how long it actually is (I am 18 hours into it according to my Save File with some side stuff being done but I don't devote myself to doing every little thing).
Like many I'm sure, I picked the game up dirt cheap months ago and just waited until I was confident the game was in a state of...not a dumpster filled with fire. I have a Xbox Series X so I had heard that it was mostly fine on that and PC but I still waited just in case. I had heard it got a lot better and the Series X Upgrade came out not terribly long ago so now seemed like a good time to boot it up finally.
I have heard Edgerunners is very good. People who I know who have seen it have said you don't HAVE to play Cyberpunk to understand it but the show doesn't explain really anything so it helps a lot to have the knowledge under your belt.

She's just a normal human girl who likes to walk on cats, just like every normal human girls. She is not The Entity nor is she a killer in the DBD Realm.

This is what it's been looking like lately (though there's a bunch more you can't see under the feeders cause the little buggers are messy eaters and spill about 10 seeds to every 1 they actually eat...)

You might need to swing by the doctor and have them check out your shoulder. That's such a reach that you had to have pulled at least a few muscles making it.
-
I think a big part of it is how long you've played
Like even before the big rework, everyone I had was at Level 50 and had a ton of stuff with them. All killers I liked to play were maxed out and even most survivors at least had my "Must Have" perks on them. BP has never really been a big deal to me for quite a while.
This just kind of compounded with the new rework where I really don't care about getting new BP. At this point, I do dailies just to give me an excuse to "go for" something (same with Archive Challenges). It's not so much about the BP but more about the variety they make me do.
However, for a brand new player, I think that the big rework would be a huge boon. I don't know how long you've played (you've got a big post count but joined the forum in May of 2022 so I don't want to make assumptions) but this big overhaul seems to be more for the new player way more than it is for veterans of the game just because in general, veterans of the game don't need it.

Got the week off so it'll be mostly me finishing the work on my deck (stripping the old paint, replacing some boards, and restaining the deck, you've seen pictures of it in my Squirrel pictures so you know it's not great), playing video games, watching movies, and golfing. I got 13 days of vacation to use and a whole lotta nothin to use it on so might as well burn some of it now so I don't accidentally leave some on the cutting room floor at year end

He’s a northern cardinal (or the very originally named Cardinalis Cardinalis), a species I don’t know much about because we don’t have them here.
@Mooks may also like these ‘cuz they’re what the Redbirds in Don’t Starve are based on
I figured he was a Cardinal looking at him but I didn't want to be Bird Racist and assume all Red Birds were Cardinals :D
I put up a Suet now (you can see in the picture) which the bird store lady said is perfect winter seed for birds. A lot of the birds do leave for the winter but I guess a decent enough chunk stays that it's still worth leaving them food if you want to attract them and like everything in my life, I want to keep birds around all winter for Holly to look at cause she wears the pants in the family.

That's my secret Cap, I'm always try-harding

I remember someone saying they liked birbs and I got what I thought was a nice birb picture as these fellas are fattening up for winter
And I bought a new birb feeder as I have accepted that I have turned old

I'd save them but I only use Mori's if I have a daily. Using the mori's just to see them I find just kind of meh. If you save them, you can actually get something out of them.
But it sounds like you actually do like using Moris to see the death so if that's the case, go nutter butters friend! Spill the survivors blood until the Realm runs red!
-
-
Well I still think it's fun shrug
If you don't think it's fun, that should basically be the end all be all of whether you keep playing or not. I'd dare say that nothing else really matters
-
There are situations where Nu DH isn't counterable but those situations are far rarer, they don't hurt you nearly as bad as Old DH, and Old DH was that way in EVERY situation where Nu DH is just in some very specific situations that takes either great skill by the survivor to setup or incredible luck. Every single perk in the game has some kind of situation where it's not counterable, that's not special for Nu DH.
I would take every single survivor running Nu DH over old DH coming back and just being an option for survivors to run

Thanks but I still don’t understand why people say he’s better than others cause atleast Billy can curve and slinger can counter windows and hit long ranges
Bubba has none of that
I like Bubba way more because I have a ton of trouble with Billy and his chainsaw. I find Bubba is far easier to control than Billy is.
It's also super fun when you chainsaw through half the team because they bunched up and you made them pay
-
This isn't going to be super helpful but unfortunately it's kind of true...
As you play Bubba more and more, you'll get a better sense of your surroundings. It takes time and it takes effort because his hit box can be wonky as hell. You get a decent sense of how tight you can take corners and what little things around the map he runs into (even though you shouldn't have).
For general tips, don't even bother trying to use your chainsaw around window loops like double Ls or The Shack unless you're REALLY confident you're going to get the hit. You're better off either just bopping them in the head with your mallet or ideally abandon chase and go for someone else. Bamboozle can be a really good perk with him since windows are really his primary weakness (I personally don't use it as I found it is better to have a slowdown perk since Double Ls can still get you in trouble as you can only bamboozle one window at a time).
If a survivor is running around a REALLY tight loop (like a tree or a rock), stop and go the other way. It's really really hard to catch them chasing them around the loop but as long as you don't run into the object turning back around (and even then, the survivor might run into you anyway), it's an easy down.
Hope something in here helps

Lol, this is the definition of how debates and arguments work in this community. It's so stupid and so funny :')
You could play this game for an entire year and people will still treat you like a complete newbie who doesn't know anything about the game, as if it was such a complex game... and it is not.

It's the same kind of issue of killers v survivors when it comes to blood points earned in game
As a killer, you are naturally going to always get Brutality, Sacrifice, Deviousness, and Hunting as that is all gotten through regular gameplay
As a survivor though, what you get is usually dictated by reacting instead of acting. You're always reacting to what the killer does and if the killer isn't giving you what you need, you need to force it
Unfortunately too many survivors are just incredibly impatient with their challenges and force it no matter the cost to the game. Short of making the challenges just super boring (basically making them just "do gens" challenges), I don't really know how you'd fix it

It used to. It used to a lot. Like...an incredibly unhealthy a lot. Like...maybe eventually I'll share some pictures of how unhealthy it was 😅
Now this isn't a suggestion for you (or anyone), just my thing. I actually got put on antidepressants a few months ago and it has done WONDERS for me (Duloxetine if you're wondering). Literally life changing for me and has made doing...really everything that used to really frustrate me so much better.
It's less that it's made me happier and has just made me way more in control of my emotions. Before them, I even knew in my head that getting this frustrated was stupid and why am I acting like this but it was like I was a passenger in my body, just watching. A few weeks ago was the perfect example where I was getting super frustrated with a bully squad and went to punch my keyboard and just...stopped. I said "Why get so worked up" and instead of going red and punching it anyway, I just...didn't. It was kind of eye opening for me.

The difference here, you're still getting 100% BP on every action you did that match - regardless how many survivors lived, died, how they died, whatever. The new mori offerings have to play out a very specific way to get the reward! Not worth!
I suppose so.
I don't really see much of a difference but you're not wrong either.

No it's trade I down then and that gives me bp and they get the hatch or exit but now I have to just kill them as that gives bp unless I have maxed everything before.
You're giving someone a hatch, which means that even now in the current system you're losing points by doing so as well.
If I'm giving someone hatch in a game, what BP I'm getting out of it is not a concern.
-
I mean...isn't that normally how any of the bigger offerings work though?
I want to use a BPS. This game could be a game against a Sweat Squad SWF that is looking to get out as fast as humanly possible and now I've wasted a 100% offering or this could be a game against 4 adorable little kittens who accidentally turned their owners console on and are currently running around in circles cause they don't have thumbs and therefore can't control their character right.
Or what seems to be my luck where I use my junk offerings with my junk add ons against squads I decimate and as soon as I put something good on, I get my teeth kicked in :(

"the pros (being able to do something about killers who just want to bleed you out and waste four minutes of your life) outweigh the cons (the situation you put forth)."
Really?
How often does that even happen? Most killers want to get to the next game as much as you do.
Is it worth gutting entire facets of the game, removing a ton of player agency, and removing valid avenues of applying pressure which will only force killers into employing cheaper tactics even more often, just to avoid a niche situation like that?
Is there maybe some other method of avoiding that niche situation that doesn't involve gutting the game?
Further more "just let them get the hatch before you down them" obscures the fact that you're letting them get the hatch.
When I down someone and carry them to the hatch, i often get a "thanks for hatch" afterwards. When I chase someone and herd them towards the hatch instead, I get a "succ it bicth you suk ur a bad killer"
I'd like to reduce the amount of toxicity in the game, not add to it.
I was only commenting on what the OP was talking about, not the mechanic of UB becoming basekit.
I'm not a big fan of UB becoming basekit but I was strictly talking about the ability to give Hatch in my posts as that is what the OP made the discussion on.
-
@Seraphor said:

But you have to make that decision before you attempt to down them.
Often I give the hatch after I've downed someone far too easily and feel sorry for them.
That's fair but to me, the pros (being able to do something about killers who just want to bleed you out and waste four minutes of your life) outweigh the cons (the situation you put forth).
Everybody is going to feel differently but I can't control a killer who wants to be a jerk while I can control my own actions as a killer to determine if I want to let this person live or not. It does suck a little bit as, like you, I haven't always decided before I knock them down (also one of my "Hatch" things is what I call The Lottery, which is if I take someone down but we run into the Hatch while I am carrying them to the Hook, I see that as Entity Intervention and will let them go. Something I can no longer do since there's no carrying the survivors anymore) but now I just need to keep in mind that I need to make that decision before I put them down rather than after.
-
You can let people go still
You just can't down them and carry them to the hatch anymore. There's still no reason why you can't just let them go find the hatch themselves or lead them to the hatch.
-
Honestly, my only regret with the new system is a silly one on the survivor side
It's fun to Photobomb Mori's :D
https://twitter.com/tippy2k2/status/1573369718735609856I won't get to do this no more once the new system is in place 😥

hahaha
Has Holly ever played with other cats before (since being a kitten, I mean)? Usually, female cats do better with male cats and vice versa. When you do finally break down, update with some photos, please :)
To my knowledge, she has not, which is the only reason I'm concerned about a second
She was a stray when I got her from the rescue so she lived her entire life (until now) on the street. So I have no idea how she'd do with another cat. She was in the adoption place with 5 kittens but they were her kittens so I'm not sure that really counts as her being fine with other cats...

lol I know, it wasn't intentional. I had A cat. ONE. And I felt bad that she was alone when I was at work, so I got her a friend (my best boy, who looks like Holly). I took them to the vet and asked him when I should schedule them to be neutered. I wanted them to develop as normally as possible until neutering them (essentially, cutting off their hormones). The vet said, "Don't worry. They're both too young for there to be a pregnancy. Even if he tried, and was somehow successful, her uterus isn't developed enough." She got pregnant a week later. And while she was pregnant, a stray cat came to my work in the middle of a blizzard. He was almost dead. I took him in, got him help, (it took a month to get him well), and couldn't find him a home. So I ended up with a house full of cats when all I wanted was 1, 2 max lol. But it's worked out lol I'm used to it now. I won't ever have this amount again, but I love all of my little fluff balls and try to just enjoy the fact that I get to have them.
EDIT:
And luckily, my house is a tri-level so they like to hang out in different areas. Sometimes, I have to look for them to find them. You could walk into my house and not see a single cat for hours. And other times, they're all sprawled out on the couches and I can't sit down . . . I'm on the floor when that happens lol
Whoopsy! 🤣
I'm telling myself I'm not going to do it but I'm almost certainly going to break down sooner or later and get a second cat. I keep checking the adoption page where I got Holly but most of the animals on there are either brand new kittens or the odd older cat and my ideal would be to get a cat around Holly's age (2-3ish years old).
Once another cat with that age range shows up or if I find a different place to adopt at with a cat around then, I'll probably break down and get a second cat. Holly seems very content with being a single kitty but I do worry about her being lonely, especially since when I do WFH (M, Th, and F), she often goes after me and my feet trying to get me to pay attention to her and play with her. Which makes me wonder if that means she would want a playmate...
Or more likely a partner in crime that would ALSO attack my feet when I'm trying to work...
-
I get it
I won't go THAT far that I'll completely throw a game out of spite in that kind of situation but I am a Solo player who will stay behind and do everything I can to save my team, even if it ultimately costs me my life (those Hero Saves I think are super fun when they work). I won't throw my life away if there is a ZERO percent chance (Basement Bubba Facecamping you in the EGC for example) but if there is even a 1% chance that I can save you, I will go for it.
If I have a team that leaves me to hang out to dry like that though, I become far more selfish. If I can help you without risking myself I will but if I'd have to risk myself to save you, I'm likely not going to do it. Once I get my chance to escape, that gate is being opened and I'm out of there. Good luck, hope you escape! Or don't, I don't really care :D
