It might not have originally meant that, but that’s what it means now. So I just rolled with the changes.
That's absolutely not what it means. People using it wrong doesn't change the actual meaning.

No idea, but it would be nice.

I don't know how long you have been playing but in my experience there is no difference today from when I started playing. I don't see any statistical difference in Killers who camp or tunnel. And to be crystal clear, I track every match I play (record them too) and jot down what tactics the Killer or Survivors used. There is always variation from week to week but none of it is statistically relevant. Overall, most Killers don't tunnel and camp as a planned tactic. Even when it happens this is what I find led to it:
- Other Survivors stayed in the area, obviously and ran around so the Killer never left; why would he?
- The Unhooker didn't do a safe rescue, and didn't take a protection hit.
- The Unhooker vanished immediately, leaving the wounded, unhooked Survivor as the only viable target.
- The unhooked didn't leave the area, either working Generators or getting healed/self-cared under the hook.
- The Killer hit several other people and simply ended up downing the same person for the hook again after.
I could go on. Actual camping and tunneling is in the minority when I break down matches. Most of the time it is the Survivors themselves that cause the situation. Squatting (what I call Face Camping) happens far more often in the Potato Ranks because said Killers don't know really know much and are desperate to hold on to that one kill. Pretty soon they figure out the behavior is counterproductive and move on from it. Survivors love to scream CAMPER all the time but never own up to their own input to the situation.
These are all valid reasons. Unfortunately, at least in my case, the I'm going to camp just because I can killers are much more in the majority.
If the reasons you listed are why they're camping I'm mad at my idiot team. If not I'm made at the killer for wasting my time.
-
I'm so tired of killers camping and tunneling every unhook. See it goes both ways. As for why don't they do the things you mentioned see the beginning of my post. You can't do those things if the killer is a camping sweat lord, which unfortunately a ton of them are.
Ideally everyone would have time to do totems, take fun chases, and generally have a good back and forth game. Unfortunately killers can't trust they won't lose playing nice and survivors have the same problem.

I interpret it as “nobody is coming to get me” and 9/10 that’s what it means. At least it does in my games lol. If nobody is heading for me and I start waving, somebody normally gets off a gen to get me. So they understand why I’m waving my arms. I also leave my gen if somebody is on a hook and after a while start waving their arms as I’m assuming they’re asking for somebody to get them.
That's not what it's supposed to mean. I see waving i don't go until I decide I need to take the heat and try to save.

I just wish you could stack the cleanses. At least stack one.

Gens before friends.
Doesn't ruin everyone's game. Just that dude's.
Better luck next match!
Can't get any altruism, are in fact penalized because the killer was a dick. So yes, it does ruin others games.
-
It goes in spurts. Today has been pretty miserable for tunneling and camping, at least for me.

So is Insidious Camping. Just stay away, 4head.
Which does not help the person on the hook. Flashlight is a minor inconvenience, easy to play around. Insidious is just a scumbag ruining everyone else's game.
-
I'd buy that argument if it wasn't almost always used by a camping tunneling killer.

I consider getting flashlighted a "miserable playstyle".
You mean that thing that is ridiculously easy to avoid? Yeah totally comparable.
-
@EvanSnowWolf said:
Are people seriously whining about Insidious?
The perk that gives Survivors free generators?
Wow. Survivors really will complain about ANYTHING.
Yeah, it's not like it literally encourages a miserable playstyle or anything...

It seems that everyone's main complaint after the Trickster reveal is that he doesn't look scary enough to be in Dead by Daylight, while simultaneously ranting about how badly they want an FnaF chapter. Like, you guys would rather say you're more terrified of a Chinese Bootleg Chuck E Cheese doll than an actual human psychopath that could (and has) existed in real life.
Meanwhile, Trapper's rockin' the rubber waders, and Billy's got a permanent 'o' face. I'd also go back and watch a Nightmare on Elm Street movie sometime, see how scary you guys find Freddy after that.
I shouldn't even have to go into how adorable Demomuffin is, but by now you get the picture.
Like 5 people want that FnaF trash.

Look forward to needing to find 5 or 6 in the next section of the tome.
They're just filler challenges and nothing more.
I'll have to find 7 this time because the game didn't count my first 3.

Deliverance. Head On is only a Meme-Perk.
While I agree Deliverance is better I have to disagree. Head On can be a meme perk, but it can save your life alot of times.
-
In your example they are the #########. There's no set standard for it, but I follow a few simple rules. If I know they were helpful during the match I let go. If I know they've been crouching most of the match I hang on. If the killer is proxy camping I won't save unless I think I can sneak in and get them off before I take a hit.
Ultimately it's up to you, but I feel my general rules are pretty fair.
-
So leave every Yun-Jin on the hook. Got it.
-
That build is already going be obnoxious.
-
That perk is trash. You'd get better value out of Resilience.
-
I mean if they're trying to kill the game sure.
-
That map is definitely rough. There's just so much dead space.

Behind a licensed paywall unlike NOED.
Small Game, not licensed. Maps, easily available. Detective's Hunch can be acquired from the shrine if you're patient.

Detective's Hunch. There, I solved you problem.

I tried Plaid Flannel but honestly it seemed to make it worse.
Tried it how?
I ran it but I missed way more with it. Granted those were my earlier games, so it might be beneficial now.

It’s a very humbling experience isn’t it?
And it always makes my respect much deeper for those that dominate with her, and make her seem like “easy mode”.
It's not her I find challenging. She's kinda fun really. It's when autoaim screws me or my blink on goes half the distance it should that's making want to pull my hair out.
@Orion said:
My advice, if you're having trouble:
Plaid Flannel to understand how the blink "travels", and then never use add-ons that change the blink's charging speed. Travel speed is fine, as well as the ones that increase the second blink's window. Also, mind your aim. The Nurse was reworked a while back so the spot where you aim is instrumental in determining the distance. You can figure all this out with Plaid Flannel, though.
For me, it was just a matter of playing her, a lot. However, that was back when she came out. I haven't touched her in quite a while. The Plaid Flannel should help you figure her out.
I tried Plaid Flannel but honestly it seemed to make it worse.

Her perks are fun and synergize with other perks. I'm not looking to play the usual meta perks, they're too cheap and boring after a while.
A binding of kin doesn't suck. Twins are fun, the perks suck.
Pretty much. I absolutely love Appraisal with Plunders.

It's been 5 ######### years. How are we still talking about noed?
To be fair people bitched about DS for nearly as long.
-
Detective's Hunch is literally all you need. It's obviously easier if others help, but I do it solo all the time.
-
@Zozzy said:
Let me get this straight...
The dev's have turned this into an actual anti tunnel perk and now survivors refuse to use it because they can't gen in the killers face and want obsession protection for free?
Survivors always told the killer not to tunnel. Well, now that statement is legit. If they get decisive off, it is clearly because they got chased off the hook and didn't have time to pick their nose and do a gen.
Or, you get people like me who don't use DS, and would like to not be automatically tunneled for it.
-
I take months away at a time. I always comeback to the same topics.

"Just cleanse totems!"
*brings Small Game or a map and cleanses 3-4 totems as a solo*
*Gets downed for the first time and 1 hooked in EGC*
Detective's Hunch > Small Game.
At topic, DS will still do what it needs to. Noed would never be an issue if everyone cleansed totems.

Yeah I've run that but I often find that mad grit and agitation are enough so monsterous was just what I'd thought I'd try for a bit and it works well when no one unhooks themselves.
Fair enough. It was more for the amusement factor.

If only they didn't have the undeserved confidence that they currently do. Then maybe they'd consider fixing their game instead of adding to its list of problems with underwhelming content.
My understanding is it's spaghetti code. Which is why things constantly break. You gotta bear in mind this was a low budget game made by a small studio. If they were starting from scratch with their current resources I imagine they game would be far more polished.
-
Sometimes you need to use more aggressive tactics to hold your own. Any reasonable person should understand that. When it's done to make others miserable is when it becomes unnecessary.
-
I'd say the person who got farmed has a legitimate complaint.
-
I know the combo. I assumed you were referring to it as a whole before I responded. In the end you're burning three perks for the chance to maybe disappear on the killer. A chance thats pretty slim on some maps.
-
I'd take off MS for Stbfl. Imagine running people down with it along with Mad Grit and Agitation.
-
Assuming this isn't bait, you are way over valuing it. You can get the occasional cheeky play, but it's was too unreliable.

Hope the one like that your comment got was worth it though, and as I can tell from the comment you made on my other post, I theorise that was from your second account.
That being said, to think that Doctor isn't an annoying killer to play against (Especially when considering his literal 65% win rate at red ranks) is a bit naive to say the least. I've enjoyed many games as Doctor and love playing as the Doctor, but I will agree with everyone else in saying he's annoying.
Not OP, no nerf required. I think he needs to be balanced more, but he's fine the way he is even when we consider the 65% win rate. But he is annoying, lol.
I was going to respond in your thread, but this is getting ridiculous. You might want to seek professional help. You are getting ridiculously bent out of shape over an innocent comment.
As for your complaint here, what else am I supposed to tell them OP. He went off the deep end with a rant that was just factually untrue.
He wants to argue Doctor is annoying? Fair enough. I understand where they're coming from. Trying to argue Doctor is op is just flat wrong.
-
It's end game? They literally have nothing else to do.
-
I hate to say it, but get good.

Unfair the game Caters to the killer enough you most be a killer only player to even suggest that it’s unfair.
It's hardly unfair. Franklin's and the other item based perks would be completely useless if they don't know you're bringing an item. Before you accuse me of being a killer main, I'm a survivor main.

I don't really see why we need it, it does absolutely nothing for the gameplay, we don't need it. Plus, people will find it offensive if you camp/tunnel/slug them, just because they are using lgbt character.
Some people will be ######### for sure. But one of the key ways to lessen/end hate about something is to normalize it. I want to see someone in DbD be lbgt because it's not realistic there wouldn't be at least one person. My only concern is if they make that the only thing the character is.

700 hours is nothing. She's a new player, therefore her opinion doesn't matter as it isn't accurate.
According to you. You don't get to gate keep the validity of opinions. You want to disagree with what they think that's certainly your right. You however don't unilaterally get to dismiss them because of an arbitrary number of hours in a game.
I'll add i completely disagree with them. Their entire position was ridiculous.

I can understand iris can be obnoxious, but it's part of the game. I'm not doing trick shots, blind shits, slugging, or doing anything outside of what is designed to be part of the game. But then survivors dm me with insults and call me the toxic one simply for having iri heads. And in that situations, who exactly is being toxic?
This Is a case of nobody's hands being clean. You know going in that people despise iridescent head. Yes it's in the game, but so is people using DS aggressively. They're both just not cool.
Too your point though, they are obviously being toxic.

No not everything does, most things do though. I mean lets keep it a buck fifty here Dead By Daylight was only created to make money why do you think it's 9000 Iridescent Shards to unlock a character without money? It's wanting you to buy it with your money. I mean if you honestly believe the currency in this game is legit you must be smoking something good. 21000 Iridescent Shards for a character outfit is not a good price or a reasonable one. If they create an LGBT Character it's so people buy it for the reasons you mentioned not so people enjoy the game more. It's a sad truth but I suppose they are running a buggy, unfair & overall broken game, they have to make there money somehow.
I was coming at it from the players view point. Obviously BHVR will be focused on the financial end. Nothing wrong with that, they are a business after all. That doesn't mean they can't also be trying to do something nice.
-
@HollowsGrief said:
Virtual signaling is really distasteful and disingenuous. No one plays this game because of the sexual orientation of the killers and people who get murdered and sacrificed in a never ending cycle.
Apparently you don't understand the concept of representation. Obviously nobody will play just because of that. If, however you are new to a game, or been around a while, you'll probably be happy to able to see yourself in a character. Why do you think survivors main a certain character? Because something about that character speaks to them.
Not everything has a pc agenda behind it. Sometimes it's just a nice thing to do.

You have only 700 hours? Come back when you have at least 3k. Then your experience will matter.
Yeah, you don't set the cut off for people's experiences mattering buddy.
As for the OP, you used the most obnoxious addon in the game and are surprised they're mad? Not saying they weren't a bunch of little shits, but you can't claim innocence when you're chucking insta downs with hit boxes the size of a mini fridge.
