What are you referring to ? My NOED example with two kills after getting no hooks all game via artificial lose-design or do you mean something else?
You said at the beginning that the better player/players should win. That, that would be balanced. Which I don't disagree with. The goal however is to have equally skilled players on each side. Which would make the 2k/2e balanced.
-
@Yamaoka said:
Quote: "Balance would be 50/50 which means killers getting a average of 2k in most matches."
Wrong.
Balance in any PVP game means the better player wins.
If the game is artificially designed to let me lose either by giving survivors 10000 pallets that can't be mindgamed or gens that take 1 second to repair (those are theoretical examples) then it's clearly not balanced just because I manage to kill two via NOED while they tbagged in front of the exit gate. (again, that's a theoretical example)
That would be 2 kills 2 escapes in your scenario. Doesn't sound like the match was balanced now, does it ?
Killrates are a very minor factor when it comes to balance.
There are numerous factors that one has to take into account such as:
- number of hooks
- total time of the match
- disconnects and hook-suicides leading to a 4k
- afk players leading to a 4k
- trolling survivors playing to sandbag / sabotage their teammates
- bad matchmaking (i.e. Rank 1 killer vs green rank survivors. Probably still goes into the red rank statistics because of the killer's rank)
- ETC
Simple question:
Do you think 2 hooks and 2 kills is the same as 10 hooks and 2 kills ?
That would be balanced though. You're forgetting that the ideal balance is pitting equally skilled people against one another.
-
I hope we never see them again. That challenge was obnoxious.

I didnt start playing until a few weeks after slinger was released. From my understanding, old Bnp just completely finished a gen? And if that's true, how did they think that was a good idea to begin with
It wasn't quite instant. You would get a series of skill checks until you missed them of the gen was complete. I don't remember exactly how long they took to complete but it was ridiculously fast.
As for why they thought it was a good idea. I have no idea. My best guess is they wanted ultra rare addons to be really powerful. Which is fair enough. They just don't think through how powerful they would be.

So they haven't actually implemented the MMR (and have given zero indications as to when that's coming) but left in the part that hamstrings the killer.
So much for "The devs are biased in favour of Killers".
They're still collecting data behind the scenes. They can't keep refining the system if killers switch around throwing off their data.
As for the OP. So you decided before anything happened they must be toxic and so you were going to beat them to it. Apparently you can't see the irony in how you made your own self fulfilling prophecy.
-
Steve and Ash. They usually think they're hot #########. Which usually leads to them throwing the match. Also I have to mute everytime there's an Ash in the lobby. I'm so sick of hearing about shiting in the tall grass.

Ok that makes plenty of sense lol
It's simple. I can reach red ranks. Will I bother playing enough to do so? Probably not. If I don't care to put in the effort/play time to do so I won't be red ranks. That doesn't mean I'm unable to do so. Just that I'm not invested enough to bother.

I’m not sure why she has such a bad reputation. I used to main Meg for a long time and I’m a great teammate. I play the same way regardless of what survivor I’m using. I also get quite a lot of decent Meg teammates. I seem to have more issues with Nea, Feng and Nancy players. I swear they love to unhook in front of the killers face without BT.
Because everyone's experience is different. Usually the Megs i get are useless. Obviously that doesn't mean all Megs are bad. It's just another stereotype. This game is full of them.

You know I just started the game, I'm not even a year in yet and I was ranked higher then some popular dbd players. I wasn't playing swf and I just ranked up to 3 from 4 so sometimes the rank goes up and down until it finally stays at the next rank, so try again buddy
Sorry kid, but anybody can make red ranks. It's not hard.
-
You should be strategically slugging already.
-
I'm sick of facing camping, tunneling killers. Unfortunately that's not going to change. As for killer being unplayable, killer has literally never been easier.
-
I personally despise them because they are the two killers that tunnel the most. At least in my experience.
-

Thisis a video of Otz reviewing another streamers Hag game. As I recall he goes into alot of depth. You might find this helpful.
-
1) Because some killers are just miserable to face. Either Because the power encourages a style they don't enjoy or simply attracts killers that delight in making games miserable for others.
2) I think it's more survivors like fun matches. A good back and forth, enjoyable chases, and teammates that don't suck.
Which is not to say there aren't survivors that are just a bunch of little shits.

@MadLordJack said:
Escapes mean nothing, to be perfectly honest.it makes no sense that a solo player that did everything well gets nothing while a basic, chatty SWF that was barely paying attention all pip.
That's the problem. At the moment escapes mean everything. It's hard to pip when 25% of your potential points are taken away.

Tampered timer isn't as good as you might think. I'm pretty sure it only reduces the timer by a small amount.
30 seconds. Which is alot when that trap is ticking.
-
I don't tunnel as Pig, or anyone honestly. Unfortunately there are alot of Pigs that do. I've never understood it either.
-
Yeah no. That would be awful.
-
It's really not showing what rank people should be in though. You can play well in every category and not pip because you didn't escape. A single metric isn't going to put people in the correct match making.

Actually that was outplay. You wouldn't make it to that pallet if you didn't have that perk, you wouldn't ignore that hit if you didn't have that perk, this just shows how busted and punishing this perk is.
That's not out playing them. If I know I have an asset left that will factor into my choices. If I know I can save a pallet for an extra loop I'm not being out played. I'm using my avaliable resources.
And before you say anything, I don't use Dead Hard. So I'm not just blindly defending a perk I like.
-
Dwight, Claudette, and Feng.
Dwight because I'm a big Puppers fan. Also for some reason I feel like I play better with him.
Feng because I used to really love Lithe. Also I like here green bunny and Greek Goddess outfits.
Claudette because she was my original main and I have fond memories of her. I liked my healer build for her. Which was her 3 perks and We'll Make It.
Doc, Wraith, and Pig.
Wraith was my original main and I still have a soft spot for him.
Doc because I love his tracking.
Pig because she's just fun.
-
You are taking this game way too serious OP. Just play who you want and ignore the idiots. They're probably kids trying to get a rise out of you. It's not worth getting worked up over idiots.
-
So you want to take a perk that almost never works for the original purpose it was made for and get rid of the only use it actually has? Why not just delete it outright then?

It's all about probability. If the BP bonus from BBQ increases the chances someone plays killer by a few %, over the course of thousands of games it has a sizeable impact. If someone has unlocked everything then there's less incentive but me personally as someone with <1k hours and much to unlock it's a strong incentive.
It will more strongly sway completionists for sure.

You're just assuming that he was "sweaty" or whatever though. It could just as easily been using the really good perks like both Survivors and Killers do constantly, and changed up his strategy this time due to misconceptions on his part about what is happening on the map or something you weren't aware of took place. Heck, maybe he was just bored or someone on your team being "toxic" triggered this response by making him think it was a "sweaty" SWF.
There's nothing inherently wrong with slugging, morally or in game, in fact a lot of the time it's a very good tactic and for certain Killers it's almost mandatory to do so.
I really don't get people's mindsets about this game. Survivors expect Killers to use bad perks and just let them go 75% of the time because *no valid reason given*, while Killers throw a fit when a Survivor survives by using game mechanics and perks given to them because *no valid reason given*. Then they both go online and say the same horrible things about each other, while also complaining that the people they're insulting constantly don't like them and that the fanbase is the worst ever.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1956605#Comment_1956605
They are overly sensitive, and so are Survivor mains. Teabagging is just objectively rude behaviour though.
I agree. It is rude. Which is one of the reasons I don't do it. But it's still not worth getting upset over.
-
@Tank said:
First of all, it's obviously the Survivors who hurt and bullied him.
Secondly, you guys can still beat him with 3 people if he gives you a break just because you're down a man and you will almost certainly teabag him to show "how much better you are" at the gates even if he plays like a good sport.
And last but not least, he might have absolutely no idea that the player is AFK in the first place.
Or killers are ridiculously sensitive. They throw a fit over tbagging. It's dumb, but hardly something worth getting tilted over.
-
They have the same charges as a Commodious. That's not mediocre. But yeah, it's sad events aren't anything special anymore.
-
What?
-
That's up to you and how you like to play. Basically your team is cannon fodder towards your own survival. But if they did their part i generally try to save them. That said, if it's end game or the killer has Noed I'm probably going to bounce unless I find the totem fast.
Short answer, yes. Long answer, no with a but.

Yeah but what I'm saying is more experience players like monto or ochido know when a killer has tinkerer I don't see any type of visual que for tinkerer as a survivor
They don't technically know. They are guessing based on their knowledge of the game. Typically I can figure out the killers perks during the course of the match based on how they play.

Yeah I never understand how survivors knew when tinkerer went off
It triggers when a gen reaches 70%. So while you can't say for certain it's the likely answer.

So my gen is 75%complete you really think I can hear a no heartbeat gunslinger who's really not that loud to begin with
He probably was running Tinkerer. That's why others have said you need to keep your eyes open.

Dwight and Feng.
Wraith, Pig, and Doc.

Sadly it's unlikely to happen. I try to be fair to both sides. If I think something is unfair to one side or the other I speak out against it.

Alright, we need to just agree to disagree here. We're obviously not going to get anywhere.

Wait what? Undying Ruin not being a healthy gameplay? Killer had to pressure survivors to get any benefit from it. Pressuring survivors means he´s not camping. The tradeoff basically killed the perk.
No It didn't. You can still get the same effect. You just don't get to force Ruin to be broken up to 4 times. Add to that Devour needing to be broken twice and they definitely got a fair trade off.

As much as I respect you for defending Kindred as I use it all the time, but like I said before it can’t help stupid survivors.
When you’re on a hook, all survivors auras are revealed to everyone. This is GREAT info, the fact that everyone can see each other is HUGE, but that doesn’t stop survivors from Self caring in a corner, hiding in a locker or crouching somewhere.
Kindred can not help stupid survivors.
It can't help stupid survivors you're right. Personally I use it to help me determine if I need to go for the save. It's honestly one of my favorite perks.
-
As a survivor main, no. Bbq can easily be countered. Pop was already nerfed, which made no sense. Noed is fine. Cleanse totems. It's basically free blood points.

I said this ages ago as well; nerf a combo that promotes healthy play and you'll male killers resort to camping/tunnelling. Then that'll be moaned about again. Take away the killers tools and they'll resort to desperate measures
Undying/Ruin did not promote healthy game play. If you were on a map that totems were hard to find it mad the game miserable. The new version is pretty balanced. Add in the extra potential of things like Devour and Lullaby and I think the trade off was pretty fair.

This event has got me playing Nurse and my lord I don't think it's ever made me hate the game more haha.
Terrain like randomly doesn't let you blink to the other side of it no matter the blink charge, you swing at survivors and your attacks just phased right through their heads. It feels borderline impossible.
I don't have the best perks sure, but man when you can't do much to stop gens the match is over in like 5 minutes or less. Mad respect for the people that are able to pull this off, I can't get more than maybe one kill a game if I tunnel a little bit out of necessity that's about it.
This is easily the hardest thing I've ever tried to do in the 4 years of playing this game. I always avoided Nurse and she is kinda fun but jfc this literally has me wanting to just never play again.
Dead hard means you have to hit everyone essentially 3 times, it's so easy to break LOS and just drop a chase and heal, and EVERYTHING sucks you into the basement if you blink so much as within its vicinity.
Of course the hardest thing to play in this game has to come with the lovely fact that if you are a rank 1 killer you are expected to be just as good as every single killer, in one of the singlest most ridiculous ideas for matchmaking anyone has ever gone with.
I've gone through 10 lunar tokens so far, and gotten almost no blood points from them because I can't down like anyone; meanwhile 4 lunar toolboxes sure blast through gens real quick.
Alright, just venting, pay no mind if you're reading this with some serious/judgemental voice in your head, better to just ignore it.
No judgment from me. Nurse is hard asf. Everytime I encounter a really good Nurse (which is rare) I can only marvel at their skill.
