While I'm all for better sound, at the moment the only sounds that bug me are chase music is too loud for killer and injured music is too loud for survivor. Those need to be priority.

Alright, I'm going to tell you a big secret that "They" don't want you to know.
There is no big conspiracy to "wither down one's mental state". All there is, is companies using tactics that work to sell things because many people just can't say no. They have no impulse control. They have no self-control. They don't think before making a choice. And then they blame "Them" for their own bad decisions, like they're victims of anything other than their own lack of discipline.
Do you know what I do when I see an item on sale? A 2-for-1 deal? A €9,99 item? Absolutely ######### nothing. I don't need nor want that item on sale. I don't care if it's a 2-for-1 deal because I either only need the one or don't need it at all. €9,99? Too expensive - most of the miscellaneous crap I buy costs less than half of that per unit, and even then I weigh the pros and cons.
You want to know what's actually ######### people over financially and they have no control over? The hyper-accumulation of wealth, which always leads to major economical catastrophes. Well, unless the governments get the stooges (that would be everyone who's not in the 1%, if you're keeping up) to pay for it. And they do, which just perpetuates the cycle.
People having no self-control, however, is their own fault. Stop blaming someone else for the decisions you make.
I'm fairly neutral in this Battle Pass discussion - I think it's stupid, but I don't really care one way or the other - but your attempts to shift the blame for the financial decisions that people make is absurd.
Just to add to this... majority of the psychological studies that marketing is based on is from the 1960's. Every company uses it. EVERY ONE. BHVR, Sony, Marvel, McDonald's, Walmart, Shop Rite, everyone.
So not only is none of this a new thing, it's everywhere. Yet people complain about it here because....?
@Madjura "If it was that easy there wouldn't be alcoholics: "Just don't buy alcohol, easy!""
It actually is that easy. Not Bacardi's fault if you can't stop drinking their product. Maybe seek help.

Depends on your rank, and how many people are in that rank.
It could also be the time of day, or the platform you're on has longer killer ques than other platforms.
It's not a rank thing. I was a rank 1 killer for over a year, would still fill lobbies in less than a minute. After 2.6, I sit and wait for a long time as killer, even at green ranks after the reset.
-
Yes I've been getting this since 2.6 update. Before that, I never had a problem filling a killer lobby in less than a minute, regardless of rank. Now, it really doesn't even matter my rank I sit in a lobby waiting for at least 5 minutes on average. Currently rank 5, but I am a rank 1 killer. I feel like I could easily be rank 1 by now if I could just find games faster. Most of the time I end up just going to play survivor instead, which I also play at rank 1 (though currently rank 5) and regardless of my survivor rank, when I play solo I can find a game in less than 30 seconds.

Yeah, it is on you if you do that. But praying on the weak minded isn't justified either now is it?
Dude every company tries to sell you stuff and make it shiny and appealing. EVERY. SINGLE. ONE.
What exactly is predatory about offering a battle pass? You want to argue people are victims when the truth is they can't control their behavior.
Take responsibility for yourself. Stop playing victim. It's not the casino's fault you blow your entire paycheck there every week.

No, the fact you're pressured INTO buying a limited time skin on a battle pass when you don't want to spend money is bad.
I never said people who don't have money who can't get limited time skins should also have everyone else not be able to get it, if you want to throw your money away than go right ahead its your money. But making others go through a panic because a skin they want will be gone soon is a no, no. And supporting it is exactly what they want you to do.
No one put a gun to your head and said "buy this".
If you make compulsive and bad choices, that's on YOU. No one else.

The problem with Mint Rag is that you can't really chose to which trap you want to teleport because if there are traps in a straight line in front of you you'll probably teleport to the wrong place. Also, when someone loops you you can't just teleport if they trigger a trap, you have to look at the triggered trap and then teleport and that gives the Survivor slightly more time to loop you and avoid getting hit after a teleport.
When it comes to MyC, people think it's not counterable. Just trigger the trap, wait until it's gone and then unhook, in that time Survivor can run out of the basement if she doesn't teleport back
Look away if they trigger a trap. You should teleport to the one that was triggered. I play on console and it's honestly not hard to teleport to the trap you want to use.
And if you try to set off traps like that against a good Hag they will just teleport back and put another trap. Rinse repeat until you either rush the save or the guy dies on the hook.

If you only care about free stuff then that is no reason to like the battle pass as a whole, the free items could be given away for free without the paid component
Actually no, because if they did that they would hemorrhage money like crazy. If they want to give out something for free they need some sort of revenue stream to offset that.
Have you ever actually tried to run a business? If you did you'd see how dumb these complaints actually are.
-
Just do the gens. If you 99 them then you just give the killer a chance to kick them and you wasted time. It's better to pop them fast so that she has less opportunity to put on one you and it becomes active.
I will rush gens with a trap on my head. The only times you want to focus hard on boxes is if she uses Tamper Timer with either extra boxes or longer search add-ons.

Sorry I was thinking about something different. I still think the 15 sec cd is excessive.
Excessive? You can literally go anywhere you want. Put a trap at a hook and a few gens, then you have INSANE map pressure. 15 seconds is not even that long. Mint Rag is one of THE most powerful add-ons in the game, top 5 easily. You want it to be even BETTER?!?
-
I would move Nea up 1 tier (Balanced Landing and Urban Evasion are both meta), and move David to bottom tier (because No Mither, and the fact that WGLF does nothing gameplay-wise... all he has is Dead Hard which is the easiest exhaustion perk to counter).
-
@Blueberry "A smart high rank survivor isn't triggering that trap. It's good, but not ultra-rare worthy with the negative in its current form imo."
??? Mint Rag lets you teleport to any trap at will. They don't need to set off the trap, that's the whole point. They crouch, make the save, get MYC, you teleport anyway and hit them down. EZ.

It's a psychological part to feel missed out. People will feel a force to spend more money, others will feel so much missed out that it will make then losing motivation to play.
BHVR (in case the battlepass is really planned) is playing with the minds of people on the psychological floor.
Sorry but this sounds like a "you" problem, not the devs problem. I welcome getting stuff for free. If you fear missing out that much then you need to seek professional help, because whether it's DBD or gambling or cocaine something will catch you.

What is the point in this grand scientific research?
Well if you look at the first page I have a counter for each classification. You will see that survivors have a TON on Buff perks, like disproportionate amount compared to any other classification. Even killers have a rather even distribution. This says to me that the devs need to shift focus away from these types of perks, and come up with more Hiding perks since they are disproportionately low.
It can also be useful because in the case of say Iron Maiden, it's a Tracking perk right now. BUT it could also be a Chase perk if the Exposed effect was better. So devs could use it as a way to tweak certain perks to fit the style they want. If the devs wanted Iron Maiden to be a chase perk then they need to boost it in a chase, ie. increase the Exposed timer.
Also for fun.
-
This isn't a tier list. It's a classification list.
-
If Black Incense was baseline for Plague then I would agree with you. But the fact she is NOT stealth and has no way to naturally track survivors, she is indeed different than Freddy. IMO she's more like Trapper where you have to plan out what you will do before you do it. Taking Corrupt any time it's available is an easy way to lose. Taking it when you are in the best position to use it will get you the win.
-
*AHEM*
1) All size SWF groups are limited to 1 instance of each Obsession perk. 2) SWF of 3 or 4 that use an Obsession perk must have at least 1 player use No Mither.Would completely fix this problem if they are SWF.
-
@Peanits Has the dev team ever considered something like what Overwatch does? You have an "avoid list" that you can put up to 3 players on (I think? I don't really play OW). They stay on the list for a week or until they get bumped off when you add a 4th. I feel like something as simple as this could help alleviate a lot of toxicity in the game. I know at least 2 killers and 1 survivor I would just have on my list constantly, and not because they beat me but because they are just super toxic and I don't want to deal with it (though for the survivor I can simply just dodge them at least).
-
What if you just make it simple for everyone.
A character using their own teachable perks get a 10%/4m buff to whatever it is.
So then Nurse's Calling on Nurse would work at 32m. Thana with 4 stacks would give a 26% debuff. And Stridor would increase survivors sounds by another 10%.
Perk specific things would be cool too, but I feel it would be difficult to actually get it all into the game. That's a LOT of work for the devs.
-
@Vlieger I only mention it because of Iri Button not giving you map-wide KI with the TR. It could be a bug, but I'm more inclined to think TR and KI were made separate on purpose to give value to the add-ons, and also allow Legion to use perks like Tinkerer that would remove his TR. Old Legion would never be able to use Tinkerer because it would screw his KI, but if it's not tied to TR anymore then it's actually viable.
-
@Vlieger "I get a lot of value out of M&A on Legion. Less time for the survivors to react to your terror radius and an extended terror radius once in chase so the first FF hit will have a larger radius to show heartbeats of people around the area."
Can you CONFIRM that this is the case with M&A? Because to me it seems like Legion's terror radius and killer instinct are now separated and increasing your TR no longer increases KI. They have add-ons that SPECIFICALLY increase KI. And then Iri Button which makes your TR map wide does NOT increase your KI also. This leads me to believe that heartbeat perks do not change your KI range like it used to, meaning M&A is just for stealth and nothing else.
I don't play Legion so I can say this is the case, but this is just my observation. And if it's true, before you get mad, keep in mind that this change would allow Legion to use something like Tinkerer and still be able to use his KI like normal.
On topic: I think the best build is BBQ, Ruin, Thana, Sloppy. However I ran into a Legion that used Dying Light, where he used KI to find the obsession quickly, and because he can do that DL is actually pretty strong for them. I would swap Sloppy to DL if that were the case.
-
Also why is it such a big deal the guy gets saved? If you decide to tunnel them then they die faster than if they just sat on the hook. Plus there is a second person there not doing gens that you can chase. Maybe even slug the guy that got saved and go for the guy that saved.
I really don't understand this "but I can't let them save the guy from the hook EVER" mentality killers have. Camping is the WORST way to slow down the game and apply pressure. Go after multiple survivors and slug them. THAT is how you apply pressure. I could understand if it's a situation where you definitely need the guy dead, or like an Exit Gate is open, but 95% of the time you don't need to camp and a dude getting saved near you is good for you if you play it right.
-
Yes please.
Also we need a more "demon like" spirit. Something with a face like this...

That probably works really well, and i'll probably try this class photo. but i like how fast i can find find my target with black box. regardless of the method, survivors can tell if they have dying light, so if you appear like a baby freddy they'll still protect their obsession. at least according to my experiences.
They don't get a notification of Dying Light until they perform an Altruistic action. So as long as you don't go after anyone but the obsession they won't know until they are on the hook, at which point its too late.

Ruin, BBQ, Sloppy Butcher (every spirit uses this), and either enduring, Brutal Strength, or you can be wild and use Remember me.
Even wilder is to use Nurses Calling as the last one.
IMO Sloppy Butcher is worthless at high levels. Survivors run Adren and just gen rush while injured, so you get nothing out of SB. It combos well with Nurse's, especially on Spirit, but once you get to a certain rank this won't work anymore because survivors just don't heal all game.
-
MYC, Stridor, Surveillance.
MYC is good for slowing down the game or getting an edge in chases. Either you chase a guy that's 1 shot and end the chase faster, or they play super cautious/immersed and don't rush gens. Since you are Spirit you already are great in a chase, and are already spooky enough to trigger immersion, so this just amplifies that.
Stridor because it hard counters Iron Will, which itself hard counters phase walk. If you run Stridor and practice with it NO ONE will ever be able to get away from your phase walk. It's literally impossible... unless you are crazy like me and do NM + IW (which is the only thing that beats Stridor, and yes I've done it before to a Spirit with Stridor, only died because I committed to a gen for points).
Surveillance is AMAZING on the Spirit. Even more if you use Prayer Beads. If you understand how to use her TR to avoid making the wooshy sound you can get lots of grabs, or at the very least free hits. Most survivors will avoid gens once they realize you have Surveillance, so just keep kicking gens and reacting to them working on it. Eventually they give up and look for another gen which wastes a lot of time.
I've also been experimenting with Lightborn. I find that sometimes when you do that "stand still at a pallet" mind game, the smart survivors with a flashlight will blind you. They do this for 2 reasons; 1) because if they blind you can't phase walk, and 2) because if they do it and don't get a blind it means you are phase walking. Lightborn makes it so that you can sponge the flashlight, start phase walking, and get the hit because they will see the beam shrink at first making them think you aren't phase walking. LB is basically a counter to the FL counter tactic.

I like to combine that addon with dying light and a green Mori.
Also works as an addon if combined with the separation offering
But knowing where one person spawned is so very helpful, even if it's removed relatively fast, Ill be close enough to put them asleep again, and usually you only wake up fast enough if there are teammates, which makes for more target.
If it was uncommon, I'd have one in every game.
@letuce Class Photo + Zblock is better than Black Box if you run Dying Light. Just sleep survs until you find the obsession, and you don't risk the obsession waking up early or giving away your build (which if you run BB will tell survivors EXACTLY what you are doing, and smart survivors will protect the obsession very hard). Class Photo/Zblock makes you look like a baby Freddy, and by the time survs realize you have Dying Light and Class Photo the obsession should already be hooked, and you basically won the game.
-
Judith's Tombstone, Mint Rag, Amanda's Letter, and Mother Daughter Ring are all fine the way they are. MDR makes you are crazy fast with just that add-on, so not seeing scratch marks is a fair trade. Plus if you are a good Spirit player you shouldn't need scratch marks to find people. AL gives you free aura reading, maybe increase the range slightly if anything. MR is literally one of the best add-ons in the game. And Judith's Tombstone is only used with infinite EW3, so it's only fair it has a big drawback. I mean, you can flat out kill people instantly. The extra stalk means nothing, I play Myers like once in a while and last time I did infinite tombstone build and it was EZ to get. I only didn't get the achievement because the last guy was someone I was a bit mean to in the previous game, so when he jumps into a locker I message him that I'm doing the achievement, he can give it to me if he wants or I'll carry him to hatch. He picked hatch, fine with me.
Prayer Beads should make her footsteps audible with 2m. It is currently like that, IDK if it is a bug or something, but it should stay that way, only because then you can't get tons of free grabs from it. Survivors that pay attention to their surroundings can at least stop the interaction to prevent the grab. It would still be a free hit though.
Iridescent Seal should have a minor drawback, but not what it has currently. I would say reduce Corrupt Purge moderately would be all (like 15 seconds).
Black Box does need a new effect to make it viable. It's more of a meme than anything, Class Photo is way more powerful and nearly as effective at finding the obsession quickly. If anything I would like longer wake up time, but Freddy is changing so this is probably moot.
Red Paint Brush should have a minor drawback, because it reduces transition by 2s and reduces your TR to 8m which is ridiculously small. I would say it should reduce his movement speed to 4.5 m/s, same as Hag with Waterlogged Shoe. But again Freddy is changing, so w/e.
Ruleset 2 I don't think should be baseline just because the traps whole purpose is to be a second objective for survivors. This add-on is quite strong, and if you got it for free then doing CoG + TT would be super powerful. It'd be like a guaranteed trap kill unless the dude is blessed with RNG and gets it off the first box. I will say that I think it needs to do more than what it does, but no to making the effect baseline. That would be OP when you factor other add-ons into the mix.
Waterlogged Shoe is fine, but it could use another minor effect to make it worthy of it's rarity. I would say make the Hindered effect persist for like 10 seconds after the leaving the trap zone. That would make it a tad better without also making it OP.
I do support your idea for Tattoo's Middle Finger. That seems like a reasonable change.

Yea and people here will defend this behavior! Like it's very obvious when someone is targeting you and when they are just a tunnely/campy killer. If they are a tunnely/campy they will do it to everyone. If they are targeting you they do stuff like break a chase clear across the map to come after you, or will do something that will cost them the game just to get you, game after game. It's very obvious and blatant.

So what? As long as they aren't going after you and farming with the others it's fine.
persecution complexes are so 2017 dude.
Explain to me how it's fine to purposely throw a game to ruin a specific players experience over and over, only sometimes the other survivors are potatoes and don't do gens so you get to harass someone AND play a normal game after.
No you target someone you target them. It shouldn't matter what happens after the fact. If they go for you and ONLY YOU because you are you and not because it's tactical or bad luck, then it's targeted harassment. Farming with the other players shouldn't be a requirement, because then anyone can just say "hey I was playing the game". I've been targeted by a specific player every time I'm in his game, he will drop chases across the map to return to the hook to kill me, or face camp me, or tunnel me off hook and mori spam me. He is doing it to harass me. If he went after someone else when I was in his game and killed them first, then I can say he is just playing the game, but he doesn't. He goes right for me every time. Multiple games. He does it to my friends too who get it worse than I do (almost always a mori spam). He's not "just playing the game" at this point he is targeting players to ruin their games.

I see now why you get tunnelled xD got a mouth on you when someone says something you don't like. Have fun getting tunnelled, Bud.
Sooooo because I will call BS on you for targeting me I'm the bad guy? Right. You are a saint if you tunnel someone that crouches in your vicinity or uses DS/MOM or a FL. Sure.
I can tell the difference between tunneling and targeted harassment. I actually have a killer that targets SPECIFICALLY ME every game, unless I'm playing with certain people then he targets them because he likes them less then he does me. This guy will throw games and hard tunnel these players out of the game, face camp them, mori spam, the works. And if you somehow get away he DC's so you can't actually escape. It is 100% targeted harassment and I've actually reported him through the report form. I was told I need some video evidence, which sadly since filing the report I have not had him as my killer. When I do I will gladly stream the match so people can see what targeted harassment looks like, then I will send it to BHVR and this guy will get banned. I think though that someone at BHVR reached out to him about it and now he just dodges me.

That's fine. Taking someone out ASAP is a strategy.
I mean like they always go for you first, or break chases they could win just to go for you, and then there are games they literally throw just to kill you. Like they go out of their way to get YOU, and they are willing to lose for it, only sometimes they don't lose because the other survivors just didn't do anything.
-
@Peanits said:

You are perfectly fine if you do that. It's when you decide to kill that player and farm with the rest that it becomes an issue, particularly when you do it over several games.
But what if they target you until you are dead and then just play the rest of the game normally, no farming. They just see you and come right for you, play like they would throw the game just to kill you, then if the others just happened to not do anything to escape they go back and play normally?
Also anyone that saying stuff like "you deserve it because you were toxic" or anything like that I hope gets banned themselves in the future.

Please no restrictions like this, its stupid. I rather have a way for killers to opt-out of the SWF experience completely but get rewarded if they opt-in.
Some killers would never take an SWF game no matter what the reward is. All this would do is make it impossible to SWF because you will never have killers accept it if they can opt out.
@legion_main said:
Yeah no thanks this would be terrible and just overall would ruin gameplay experience for SWF
How would it ruin the experience? You are 3 or 4 man SWF with obsession perks, it's only fair that SOMEONE run NM to balance it out. It seems you are okay with ruining a killers experience though.
@Orion said:
Penalizing people for playing SWF won't work. Solos and killers need to be buffed simultaneously - solos so they have roughly the same amount of information as SWF, killers so they can deal with that. If that doesn't solve the dodging problem, incentives for killers to face SWF will have to be introduced.
Penalizing SWF is the only way to go. Buffing solo is a bad idea. Solo is in a good spot right now, it's fair to killer and survivors. If you buff solo you just make the problems of the game more pronounced. SWF needs to have a drawback. This is a very simple one and fair to all players. If you want to SWF without NM, then don't bring obsession perks.
@Aven_Fallen said:
Killers really seem to think that all SWF-groups are Bully-Squads and Tryhards.
And they cannot think ahead - if there would be any limits like this to SWF-groups, the people who just want to play with their Friends will get punished. The Tryhards will simply lobby-dodge until they are all in the same Lobby.
Yeah, sounds good.
I'm a survivor main. I play NM, which is why I suggest this. Games with an obsession AND NM are fair to the killer. If it's all solos it favors the killer, but if you are all SWF then it evens out.
@Hoodied said:
Survivors can simply queue together
Then I hope they like long ass wait times. Survivors will do this like once ever, then stop when they realize it's not worth the time and that it's just better to play without obsession perks if they want to play SWF. OR they can pick obsession perks and let someone be NM. Have it be an immersed gen jockey that just hides all the time and does gens. Or maybe have someone else run a perk like Empathy or something so they can support the NM guy if they need it.
You guys act like this is a huge deal. It's not. Play SWF with an obsession perk, you have to take NM. So what. All that means is you have to protect this guy a little bit, or this guy has to be really good at the game, or that the NM guy will just mostly likely die, and that precious 4e will be a 3e. If you don't want to be NM then let someone else take it, swap around among the group. Or just don't use obsession perks. Really what is the big deal? This would be a very simple solution to SWF being too strong.
-
Or... what if Boil Over extends the killer stun from dropping you now that Enduring won't be a thing.
-
I was told the other day my Spirit was terrifying, so I say she is "horror oriented".
-
They both require different skills.
Nurse is a mechanical skill killer. You just have to practice blinks until you can do them perfectly (and by perfectly I mean you land exactly where you want all the time). This is just practice and you can learn it over time.
Spirit is a mind skill killer. You have to be able to out think and predict your opponent, while being unpredictable yourself. This skill comes down to experience and creativity.
Both also require a little bit of the other skill.
-
Any killer can benefit, however personally I don't like to use M&A on 32m TR killers. Survivors can usually tell you have it, and most of them are easy to spot if you learn how to track a killer.
Myers benefits the most probably. EW1 + M&A = 0TR. If he uses a Dead Rabbit it's small in EW2 also. And it works with his EW3 as he has a super 1 shot.
-
Items, no.
But I find it irritating that you can't heal a slug while in Madness 3. Or Mend. Both of those are super lame situations.
-
Is this the real life?
