Your data doesn't matter, unfortunately. No one knows their MMR and yet will continue to justify all their losses due to their MMR. It doesn't matter what you show them.
There is no intention to prove anything. My intention is to determine if SBMM matches us with people of equal skill. My data suggests it doesn't. But it's just 1 person. Therefore intention of the post is to ask others to contribute, so we have more data.

Depending on how much you play, kind of. Every killer has a separate MMR value tied to them meaning that for some killers your MMR will be higher or lower then others. Your Spirit could have close to 1900 while your Trapper might be 1500, we don't know. As such, every killer needs to be treated separately for their W/L averages and your data which shows only 1-2 matches for the majority isn't very good for showing anything, other then you played multiple killers and won a lot.
It'd be like if I took a match or two where I 2k'd and tried saying MMR works great just because of that. 50 matches with the same killer is a lot more valuable as far as data is concerned.
I still don't get it. I played over a hundred hours from the start of MMR. Are you saying that even that amount of time is not enough to normalize MMR if someone plays different killers? This data is from last 5 days. My match difficulty is consistently same for the last few weeks.

Well it only proves that in a region that had a free giveaway the sbmm maybe be skewed.
That's my feeling, but I can't test in other regions easily to compare. Wait... I have VPN. Would that work for being matched with other regions? Which regions didn't have free give away?

Shhhhhhh killer is impossible due to MMR. And if you aren't losing, your hidden number can't possibly be as high as the gamers around here and reddit.
Sarcasm aside, the matches really aren't that much more difficult on the whole. My worst game in the last two weeks is a 2k on Clown on Ormond and I play almost every night.
I think there aren't that many players at the top end on either side, so the odds of getting a true high MMR vs high MMR match are very slim. There's always one or two very weak survivors, or the killer is well below the skill level of the 4 stack because there aren't that many high MMR killers. SBMM puts a much higher emphasis on match quantity over match quality
Wow! It's like we have same mind :) I also get the same weird feeling when reading reddit/forums. And I also had same suspicion that SBMM prioritizes matching speed. My match difficulty is like on the clock. Time after dinner is more difficult than any other times of day. Could be due to SWF or could be due to different player composition.

While your data is interesting it doesn't work all that well for an MMR does/doesn't work topic since every killer has different MMR. The data would be much more valuable if you had played 50 games with the same killer and got a similar result. If that was the case then you'd have some basis in claiming MMR doesn't work properly.
Early DC's also shouldn't be counted in the stats since it skews the data a bit. A 1v3 is almost impossible to lose as killer unless you really mess up.
I do think MMR should be tweaked and looked at more, I just don't think this data proves anything.
"The data would be much more valuable if you had played 50 games with the same killer and got a similar result. If that was the case then you'd have some basis in claiming MMR doesn't work properly." - Please explain. I never play same killer. Are you saying that SBMM is not supposed to work for people who always switch killers? I don't understand your reasoning.

Interesting, you beat me to that. I am currently recording my own games and got 26 so far, and my average kill rate is 2.66
I plan to do about 100-150 games, and I also keep taps on how many DH, BT, CoH etc meta perks I encounter.
Holy crap! I'm not the only stats nerd here! Joy! Looking forward to see your stats when you get to that number of matches. But even what you have (2.66) is already not what we are told to expect from SBMM. Do you also feel that matches are easier as of last few weeks? Or do you feel no changes?

Hopefully 2022 will be the year of twins with ai
Twins with ai? As in Artificial Intelligence? Are we talking about BHVR here? These guys can't get basic pathing to work. Zombies get stuck all the time. There is no chance they are capable of adding AI.

I agree, fun should be the end-goal, there are many times where you "win" but you are not satisfied, or if you "lose", but had an amazing game; I always played for the fun, being that helping the team, having fun chases, doing something unique and even meme from time to time.
That also helps with frustration: if you give yourself a goal that's too high, you end up frustrated when you don't achieve it, especially if it happens multiple times, the good thing about Dbd is that you can give yourself whatever goal you want, being the 4 BBQ stacks, a certain amount of hooks, even the simple improving with a killer or as survivor can be a good achievement.
"That also helps with frustration: if you give yourself a goal that's too high, you end up frustrated when you don't achieve it" - than perhaps BHVR can stop putting goals that are too hard to achieve in the RIFT as solo survivor.
"Unhook survivor who previously unhooked you" - any idea how frustrating that was? I couldn't get it in more than 10 matches by normal play, so I eventually had to throw a match by running a killer, than do nothing and shadow survivor who unhooked me for almost entire match, so I can get it done. Admittedly, none of this is a problem for SWF on comms.
-
" tell me my character was terrifying" - I see... You are new, right? There is nothing terrifying about DBD characters after you get a few hundred hours in game. My formula is this one: Fun = Win. 3k or 4k = fun. 2k = okay. 1k and 0k = no fun. And the opposite as survivor. That's all.
You know what's terrifying as survivor to me? It's not the characters. It's any strong killer with multiple gen slowdowns. Slap Ruin/Undying if you want to me a bit more terrifying. I don't care what your character skin is.

@tennmio said:
I know what you are refering to. It might sometimes be the case that you have a team with one survivor that is better at looping then the rest of the team, but that doesn't happen as frequently as it did before mmr was in place.
I'm not too sure if your comments are arguments against my suggestion... if they are could you explain why you are against rewarding fairplay (which, in some cases, will make it more difficult to win)?
For some games nothing would change, but for the other rounds players will get an additional reward for playing fair. I'd like a reward for my playstyle and to be frank I feel like fairplay deserves a reward. Therefore if people choose not to play like it at least they don't get the same as those trying harder to ensure fairness and everyones fun.
" one survivor that is better at looping then the rest of the team, but that doesn't happen as frequently as it did before mmr was in place." - not from my experience. Happens just as often.
"if they are could you explain why you are against rewarding fairplay" - fairplay? By the unwritten rulebook? sighh. There is not enough time for "fairplay". Weak targets need to be determined quickly and eliminated ASAP if killed doesn't want to see a butt dance at the gates.

If you don't want to get crushed after missing or landing a pounce it can be quite helpful.
You are confusing pounce cooldown and crush animation timers. This addon doesn't change pounce cooldown during which Victor can be crushed.
-
@ReverseVelocity said:
Considering the crush animation takes 0.35 seconds it's actually pretty decent, especially with the Stale Biscuit.
How does this change the outcome? Give me a scenario where this matters.

@C3Tooth said:
The time in this isnt about time saving for Killer to do more stuff, it push the line between finishing the animation to kicking Victor or failed, to Killer's favor. Sometimes 0.2 is enough to make a different. Sometimes...
Same to Pinhead increase Box solving time addon (Yellow +1sec, Green +2sec). It sounds pretty pointless on its own if you think buying 3sec from a Box carrier is nothing. But that 3sec gives Killer 12m of distance of time to M1 survivor with Franklin demise.
How do you fail? Once the animation started there is no way out of it.

The animation is fast so the 0.2 seconds kind of makes sense in correlation to that. I would just make an add on where the Survivors suffers from something if he kicks victor though.
Yes, if victor gets crashed 5 times during match, it adds up to entire 1 second. Definitely match altering!

DH vaidation. It's super frustrating to get a scream on hit and then get "vaidated", especially when it happens multiple times in match.

people have fun stealthing...
Ohh, don't get me wrong, I don't dispute that. If you don't care about BP and your team, that's fine. There is entire BP category for being chased. And it also helps your team when you can take agro and spread hook states. And good luck if you get any killer with location ability, like legion or doctor.
-
@ManOMaker said:
I basically always have to use Alert and Bond. Alert is so useful for staying out of a chase and bond is amazing for not forcing one of your teammates into one if you are getting chased
for staying out of a chaseDon't do that. You'll never improve that way. That's a common mistake beginner do. You'll MMR yourself into games where you just M1 on gens and than die in 10 second chases. Zero fun in that. I did that too, but than listened to streamer advice and forced myself out of my comfort zone and into chases. You'll be able to turn your matches into fun entertainment instead of a chore.

Thanks. I haven't seen anybody bleed out for some time now in my matches and completly missed that this was an option. But holy moly, 3 bleedout deaths...somebody was not having any mercy over there.
Bleed out is actually fun on high mobility killers. You should try it on Nurse. Gives you opportunity for lots of chases instead of wasting time with hooks. It's also fun for survivors (I think? Yes? No?) because they are not limited to just 12 hook stages. They can potentially pickup themselves many more times.

So they were seal clubbers and lowering their MMR, so they can stomp new killers and boost their ego.
You are probably right. First and last person have identical sabo build obviously for new killer bullying. Is this a common problem in low MMR or just a fluke?
-
@Dino7281 said:
Well, you destroyed those teams really fast I guess, so game system decided you are smurf and boosted your MMR maybe?
That's how it works in some other games at least.
I think killer experience is bad just because of that grind. Way worse than survivors imo, at least in terms of grind.
You can get meta build with just free survivors for less BP overall. With killer you need to buy multiple DLCs to have best build, spend millions to get those perks, then millions on killer you actually want to play.
This game is really not noob friendly imo. But it's nice to see someone smart that starts with KYF, that helps a lot to new players, if you are good teacher tho. I hate players that just bring noobs and play with their old account and then they are suprised when they friends get destroyed by better killer...
That's the thing, I didn't destroy them fast at all. I had to down them probably at least 30 times until they finally bled out and they did 4 gens in that time. I made matches last as long as average dbd match. Also, from what we know, MMR doesn't do that in just 2 matches.

@ThiccBudhha said:
People throw at bottom mmr. Half my games are killers just afk. And as killer who just let people go myself, I see a lot of deranked survivors. Usually in a SWF. Maybe once every 10 games or so?
So, you are saying that those are people who purposely deranked themselves?
-
@EqMonkVeeshan said:
yea I have seen this tons people deciding "no more gens because I am maxed out" " no more heals or saves because well I am maxed out on points i get nothing for it."
Yeah, I even heard twitch streamers say that. It's sad that game is practically designed to limit people who want to do certain role.
-
@Orion said:
That would defeat the purpose of the category, IMO. It's altruism, not moral dessert-ism.
That's the theory. In practice, it's just another category for earning BPs.
-
@Hippie said:
Honestly, I've never seen anyone say or do something like that in all of my hundreds of Solo Queue games. That's very weird and I can assure you that most players probably don't think like that...
However, I'm all for raising the point cap so everyone can earn more points in general. And increase point gain from actions like healing, generator repair and other altruistic actions. And make it easier to earn Survival points besides escaping the trial.
I've never seen anything like that before either. People act differently with MMR. Just a personal feeling. More selfish. Maybe others are more lucky.

You cannot be toxic in game, only in chat and on forums. Ive let over 7k survivors live on purpose this year alone. Don't pretend like you understand my motivations at all. Nice coinage of a term DeMMR. As if its against the rules or some higher moral code. This is a party game and its supposed to be fun. If you don't have fun at your current mmr why not change that? I play with sound off and no addons and I like fun builds.
Cool story bro. I never said I don't have fun. I never said it's against rules. Tried yourself in writing stories for preschoolers? You would be good at it!
Yes, you can be toxic in game. The fact that you pretend not knowing about it after spending that amount of time in game and on forums confirms what I said. Let me do a forum search for you: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/search?Search=toxic
Ohhh my, what a surprise! Only over a thousand pages of results!
-
Nahhh... You just want to deMMR, so you can dominate noobs later. Just another toxic player.
-
PC player count is steadily declining over the past 2 weeks, so you are not alone.
An ongoing analysis of Steam's player numbers, seeing what's been played the most. -
Winning or losing has nothing to do with what I'm talking about. Your win/loss is the same no matter your playstyle.
I'm talking about how to have fun. You see, win or loss is just a number. Once you get over the idea that your fun is tied to a number, you can actually start using sbmm to your advantage.
Again, just in case it's not clear: win =/= fun.
-
@Labrac said:
I'd agree with you if SBMM was actually a thing. I'm a Huntress main who runs no slowdowns (my build is BBQ, Shadowborn, Nurse's and Discordance) and I still get paired with SWFs using the same 4~6 perks who try to finish all gens in 5 minutes, even if I never go out of my way to camp/tunnel. I finish my chases in 10~20 seconds and I still end matches with only 4~5 hooks because my 110% ass can't defend gens.
Funnily enough I have way more chill survivors with Nurse, a killer I have a way bigger win rate because, you know, it's Nurse. SBMM doesn't work, this is just the same ranking system but hidden.
It's hard to say how well it works without keeping stats. You know what, you gave me an idea. I will record every single match kill rate stats and see what it averages to over a period of 1 week and then post my results.
-
@Aneurysm said:
Oh I get swfs with meta perks on my worse killers, they just don't know how to use them well
True. But then you wouldn't be tired of them and wouldn't be complaining about them. That's why the title is "TIRED OF GOING AGAINST SWF WITH ALL META PERKS?"
If you are not tired, than there is no problem.
-
@JoByDaylight said:
Well, as a solo survivor I am sadly the one being punished for Swf toxicity, as some killers will use their chances vs solo q’s to get back at survivors. It feels like some of them sees survivors as one big flock of toxic gamers.
Most games are good though, I hardly meet toxic survivors when I play killer or toxic killers.
Oh, yes. I have the same feelings. I wish in addition to SBMM, we would also have TBMM (toxicity based matchmaking)
-
@ThiccBudhha said:
I think a lot of people just get mad when they play nice and then the survivors act like they solved world hunger and created world peace at the end of the game, so, they would rather just 4k them so that their toxicity makes them laugh instead of feel bad.
Understandable. If teams annoys you, go for it. But then go easy in next match.

"normal" doesn't mean anything. For some people it's normal to tryhard all the time. Don't tunnel, don't camp, remove gen slowdown, go for 12 hooks... There are tons of ways to get matched with people who don't tryhard.

But going against better players means you go against the same perks over and over, perks that waste loads of your time and make matches boring and infuriating, DBD doesn't reward you for getting better anymore, not with SBMM in here, the game's as boring as it'll ever get
Than don't try so hard, and you will go against players that have different perks. Why tryhards complain about other tryhards?

Do you feel reward for improving should be easy stomp? That's just a failure of matchmaking. But I guess your ideal situation is stomping babies. To each his own, can't argue about that.
