I did not say that you should listen to me.
I said that I more inclined to listen to others if they have credentials to back it up.
But hey, if you don't listen to doctors, that's not my problem.
And I didn't say that you said I should listen to you. What do doctors have to do with random message board posters like yourself? You want to continue thread crapping, be my guest, idgaf :)

Nobody says you can't come have all the pity parties you want, but remember they are not exclusive and you don't get to tell us to leave. Don't assume you are going to get any sympathy because chances are you won't.
"This place isn't where you come for pity parties." - you
"Nobody says you can't come have all the pity parties" - also you
"Don't assume you are going to get any sympathy because chances are you won't." - don't assume I assume anything. The chance are (100%) I don't care about your sympathy.
I want to ask you a favor. Could you please stop thread crapping?

I think of it in a logical way.
I, myself, know some medical knowledge. I spent a lot of my football career helping my friends with injuries. But who are you going to listen to, me who has maybe 200 hours of actual experience in medicine or a doctor who has put YEARS into the practice.
It's the doctor, no question. He has experience and knowledge that someone with my experience level doesn't have. I know some basic things, and they are likely somewhat correct, but the person who spent a decade learning this stuff probably has a better understanding of how to help.
That's how I look at it.
I will certainly not listen to the one who makes basic Appeal to Authority fallacy. That's taught in first year university courses:
Insisting that a claim is true simply because a valid authority or expert on the issue said it was true, without any other supporting evidence offered. Also see the appeal to false authority. Also, if we are going to make fallacies: did you know that I'm President and sole proprietor of Game Balancing and Player Satisfaction institute? See, that title makes my opinion more important than yours.

Except that isn't how a Forum works. This place isn't where you come for pity parties. :) You post, you should support what you post with evidence, and be prepared for people to disagree with you and demonstrate why you are wrong. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. :)
Well, I don't know if it's obvious, but this is not your kitchen, so you don't get to tell me what to do and what not to do. See, I don't owe you anything and I'm not sure why you have that attitude that you can tell why people should come here. If I want to come here for a pity party, I will. If I don't feel like giving evidence to someone I don't like, I will not. Maybe tone down your demands? Or don't. I don't care either way.

Just because a lot of people think something doesn't mean it is correct.
Many of the posts you see daily are from new players trying to deal with it. While their opinions matter, they do not carry the same weight as someone who has thousands of hours in the game.
Each person decided on his own which opinions carry weight and which don't. Just because you adopted your own scale of measuring opinions, doesn't mean that it's correct one. For example, on my scale, your opinion has same weight as vacuum. Feel free to prove me wrong by adding references to research articles.

Here's the problem.
I don't see tunneling or camping as an issue.
It happens so infrequently that it is a non-issue. I've played close to 100 Survivor games in the last month and I've seen ONE person be facecamped and two or three get hardcore tunneled. That's 1/100 Survivors. That's probably near the same ratio that Killers get deathsquad SWF.
You just remember the unpleasant experiences more clearly because your brain is wired to.
There is no problem if you don't see it as an issue. Weird fact: the world doesn't revolve around you. It's like color blind settings. I'm not color blind, so I don't need those settings. But that's absolutely not a problem for me if it's added for people who are colorblind. If it's not an issue for you, it doesn't mean that it should not be fixed for those who feel it's an issue. Also, do a search on this forum for "camping" and you will see over 1000 pages of results. It's brought daily, so obviously it's an issue for many people.

I find your Plumber analogy amusing, but not really relevant here. I know you THINK it is but you are wrong. Let me point another salient fact out to you. This game is a luxury item to you and I. It is a diversion, a way to kill some time. For bEhavior and the DEV it is their jobs on the line. They have a view of the game that none of ever see, and their very paychecks are bet against doing the right thing which means making sure the rough balance OVERALL is healthy for the game's continued existence. Nobody has a greater vested interest in making DbD work than they do. In short, your comments are foolish. We can take the ongoing success of DbD as supporting evidence of the fact that they do know something about what they are doing. We only see the things we WANT based on personal bias. They see the things they must do. Are they incapable of error? No, of course not. Are there things I'd love them to do? Absolutely, but I also understand that they move in their own way at their own speed for their own reasons.
In regards to Player Agency, those in the role of Killer want (and need) just as much free choice as those in the role of Survivor. Nobody wants to be reduced to playing just a chase Bot. Killers have very few choices to make in the game as opposed to Survivors, and mostly it boils down to who to chase and when, when to defend (camp) and when not to go hunt and pressure. Everything they do is a variation of these limited options. If we taking away their right to defend (camp) then we have made them Bots, and no different from the old Ghosts that used to run patterns in Pac Man. Nobody is going to be interested in doing that for long. Without enough Killers, this game dies. So it is time for you to put on your grown up pants and spend more time practicing your BASICS in game and less on your funny analogies.
"but I also understand that they move in their own way at their own speed for their own reasons" - you should have started with that! Obvious fact: this thread is not for you. Move on to another one! This thread is created by a person who is not satisfied with the way they move. You are satisfied. So there is no common ground. Also, try not to sound like a corporate shill with full time job shutting down discussion that don't flatter the company. Do you get a bonus when you get to 4k comments?

And you make the assumption that the DEV haven't already looked into tested and tested again multiple strategies to that effect. In every test (time and time again) the methods were abused by Survivors, didn't really stop Camping or Tunneling and had the added problem of costing us Killers and making Queues unbearable. The DEV have gone a different route and accept those strategies are part of Player Agency, i.e. play style and put things in to reward Killers for other behaviors and to make doing so slightly less BP profit. In turn, they give Survivors a METRIC TON of things to use against Camping and Tunneling and all that jazz.
What some Players seem to ignore (or perhaps are actually ignorant of) is that you have everything you need to deal with those tactics yourselves. They gave you the knives and forks, but it is up to you to tackle that steak.
I'm well aware that they tried a few years ago... and then gave up. There are tons of ideas posted on this forum how to fix this. So let me continue the plumber analogy:
(OP) soooooo... my toilet is still clogged...
(PLUMBER) well, last time I tried that one product and it didn't work.
(OP) can you try another product.
(PLUMBER) no, I already tried one.
(OP) can you try another one.
(PLUMBER) What are you insane?! I've got no time for that. As I said, I tried one!
(OP) well, what can I do? It's stinks here. Please help!
(PLUMBER) How about I send you a bunch of product perks and you do it yourself
(OP) I suppose I could... But you are a plumber... I'll pay you a lot. Please help!
(PLUMBER) I've got no time for that! Go read the manuals and do it yourself! I'm busy decorating my lawn here! Do you want me to send you a gnome for your lawn?

Tunneling and camping are valid strategies and are not going anywhere.
If you want tunneling removed, you need to massively slow down the game, which is a huge Survivor nerf. Is that worth it to you?
You can't really stop camping, there are situations that call for it and there always will be.
"Tunneling and camping are valid strategies and are not going anywhere." - So, allow me to explain what I think OP means. I think it's obvious to everyone that those are valid strategies right now. He is saying that perhaps developers could make those strategies INVALID. And replace them with other equally VALID strategies that would be more fun for everyone.
That's like calling a plumber and saying:
- (OP) my toiled is clogged and it stinks
- (YOU) of course it's clogged and stinks because shot stinks and you popped in it.
- (OP)...
- (YOU) that shot is not going anywhere and so is stink
- (OP) how about you fix it by unclogging it? maybe? just a thought...
- (YOU) no! clogged toilets always stunk and so you should get used to it!

Note: I've had teams like this often even before rank reset issues. Kinda sucks but oh well, can't wait for matchmaking though.
Holy crop! I'm sorry you had to go through that :(

Most important and ez to implement: survivors should see each other perks before match. SWF have that. There is no reason to hide them.
Also, something similar to Kindred base kit. Maybe with less information. SWF always know who goes for save. I waste so much time abandoning gens and going for save just to see that someone else is also going for save. I also want to tell others if a gen is almost done. This could be done with adding status symbols to survivors.

How did I proxy camp though? In some rounds that I didn't want to commit to a chase that I knew was going to be a loss for me? Playing smart is apparently forbidden now? I don't really remember proxying except for when it was the last few people, and denying unhooks if I see someone going for it. That's the right choice and decision to make when playing killer. I proxy sometimes yes, but I don't really see me proxying in any other game I played that night. Going back to the hook, because most people heal under hook is the right choice if the person is trying to take you to strong tiles. I don't deny anything though. I'm not that type of person. I'm willing to admit things, and I'm fully aware. I don't understand how I'm showing bad attitude, but that's fine you do you, but apparently 1 game where I did some camping means I'm a full blown out camper though. I can't change your mind, but most of the people who come across me in the end game chat at least off stream when I decide to focus and play fair call me incredibly good at Trickster. You based performance off of being awake for 40+ hours. That's why I said I wanted to go back into it more level headed and awake so I can actually perform well, and do just fine, and I did just fine for being awake for that long.
That's right, you kept dropping chases as soon as a person was unhooked and you refused to go far from hook and kept checking it. I just clicked on random moment in video and confirmed it again (31:00). No one says that playing "smart" (camping) is forbidden. It's just boring to watch and I'd rather watch fun games. I'd rather watch Otz getting 0k and showing fun game with 9000 level mind games, than another camper/tunneler getting a 4k. I really don't care at the slightest about your excuses and your bad attitude doesn't help. I also find people who keep patting themselves on the back and boasting obnoxious: you call your own gameplay "smart" and boast how people call you "incredibly good"? It's interesting how all the best streamers I see are humble and respectful people. Sorry, but I don't have any more time to spend on this boring stuff.

Lol true I was not camping every game, but that game I did. Maybe if you would actually you know watch the rest of it you would see that I didn't camp in any round after that. So maybe instead of nick picking trying to make a case of your own agenda look at the rest of the vod. I punish hook rushers, but if you are going to make a case of me actually admitting to camping one bad round, but not watch the rest of the other rounds, then maybe you would be able to tell I didn't camp in any other round. If you want to you are always free to stop in and watch tomorrow. I will make sure I don't camp a single time for you. :)
I did watch the rest and you proxy camped all the time. The reason I point to you admitting camping is because I correctly predicted that you would be denying that. No, I'm not going to watch you camping tomorrow. I've had enough boredom watching what you have so far.
" nick picking trying to make a case of your own agenda" - besides, I don't watch streamers who show bad attitude.

Proxy camping and punishing unhookers is about the only thing he's decent at unfortunately, a bit like old bubba.
If you play him normally you're gonna have a bad time.
Yes, I tried to play normally as him, then realized that he is super good at proxy camping and got a few 4ks on obvious solos, as well as a few 2ks on obvious swf who were smart not too unhook, then stopped playing him... because it just felt not fun and scummy to proxy camp every game. And every video I see from people claiming how they do amazingly with him is just the same... camping, camping and more camping. With basement especially it's impossible to rescue even with BT most of the time.

If you can't and/or won't do it, I have no reason to believe a thing you have said. Video proof (full matches so we can see if these are competent survivors and you're not just curb stomping a bunch of noobs with highlights). Don't bother responding to me again (or go ahead I suppose, this is America but I'm not going to respond to you) until you have this video.

The Twins nerf didn't destroy them or anything. It just added mechanics that make them feel worse to play with additional slowdowns and animations that didn't need to be there.
When will the Devs learn that these types of nerfs are unhealthy for the game? If the goal of a nerf is to make the Killer weaker, I can understand. But with Billy and Twins the nerfs didn't really accomplish much balance-wise they just made them less appealing to players.
"When will the Devs learn that these types of nerfs are unhealthy for the game?" - Devs learn? Are you new to DBD or is it a rhetorical question?

I got a 2K because I made a bad DS call, not because my Trickster play was weak. When against 4 survivors on comms, a bad gameplay decision is costly, it snowballs especially hard because a 4man swf can punish it exponentially. I would have got a 2K with almost any other killer with that decision.
Quoting end game results really shows you have very little understanding of how dbd works.
Edit: if you’re going to quote people’s hours like it means anything, get it right next time. You’re off by a factor of 30%, meaning your arguments are just packed with hyperbole and nothing really worth listening to.
You right, Otzdarva doesn't have 7k hours. He only has 6,362 hours. That means I'm off by 9%. You said I'm off by 30%, meaning your arguments are just packed with hyperbole and nothing really worth listening to. That's according to your logic, or more precisely lack of it.
Hello there. ːwhitewardː 🔴 YouTube | 🟣 TwitchBut... Unlike you, I'm not going to dismiss your entire argument because it contains one fallacy, because that would be "Argument from Fallacy". See, this is where being educated helps.
Argument from fallacy is the formal fallacy of analyzing an argument and inferring that, since it contains a fallacy, its conclusion must be false.[1] It is also called argument to logic (argumentum ad logicam), the fallacy fallacy,[2] the fallacist's fallacy,[3] and the bad reasons fallacy.[4]Yes, it was bad DS call, but they could really have DS, so it's irrelevant. Also, you went out of your way to tunnel, that's why you had to worry about DS in the first place. Also, you resorted to proxy camping multiple times, which many people refuse to do due to that type of gameplay just being unfun, something you wouldn't have to do with most other killers because you could actually pressure multiple survivors simultaneously and defend gens.
So, lets summarize that. Unlike you, Otzdarva never camps and never goes out of his way to tunnel, unless in competition. It's simply not fun to watch and there is nothing to learn from it. Anyone can camp and tunnel his way to a 2k, but what's the point?
"Quoting end game results really shows you have very little understanding of how dbd works." - this actually shows that you have no argument and only capable of resorting to Ad Hominem.
Ad hominem (Latin for 'to the person'), short for argumentum ad hominem, refers to several types of arguments, some but not all of which are fallacious. Typically this term refers to a rhetorical strategy where the speaker attacks the character, motive, or some other attribute of the person making an argument rather than attacking the substance of the argument itself. How about this idea: what if instead attacking people you disagree with, you try to be a positive personality, like Otz. Wouldn't it be nice if we all tried to not add to toxicity of DBD, but instead worked to make it more pleasant for everybody?

In all fairness, as good as Otz is, using him for as an example for a killer like Trickster is a bad idea. He tends to play the less gimmicky M1 115% killers and thats where he is best.
Dowsey has been doing phenomenaly well with Trickster for the most part.
All I'm saying is that if a person who plays as a job and has 7k hours experience is still better than average. If he can't do well, than normal people with regular day time jobs and life can't do well either. It's not a reasonable design to expect people to spend hundreds of hours before having a chance.
Edit: Dowsey also barely got 2k against competent survivors. Match starts at 3:39. He also proxy camped at one point in the match, which is something not everyone wants to do. That's why I gave Otz as an example, he never camps, unless in competition play and I respect that.

The thing is, is that otz is kind of mediocre at Trickster. He barely has put enough time, and people should be aware of that when they are looking at Trickster gameplay. There is 2 other people I know about that have put 200+ hours in Trickster alone along with me, and we do fine against sweaty teams. Can you win against deathsquads as Trickster? No. The thing is, is that the couple of us that play him consistently 4k with him no problem. I only struggle when I go against deathsquads or I get mothers dwelling. The rest of the maps I have no problems with. We can't look at otz's gameplay with an out view of how strong a killer is because most of his killer skill is a mixed bag among all the killers. We have to look at the people who have put a lot of time into a killer, and go off of them instead of looking at a big content creators skills where their skills are in a mixed bag. The people who put a lot of time into Trickster you can look at their POV and see how well they are doing compared to someone who has maybe 10 hours into Trickster.
So, you are saying that there are like 3 people in the world that can do well with him?.. And streamers who do it as a job and have 7k hours experience need to git gud?.. Do you know what that means? That means that Trickster is still crap. There is nothing you or anyone can do against split pressure. He is just too slow. And unlike Huntress, can't take health states at pallets. They drop pallet and you get 3 knives in and they just go around until you break it or slowly catch up. At least with Huntress you can take entire health state at that pallet.
There is nothing fundamentally different that he could have done in that video that would change the outcome. I watched it twice and couldn't point to any mistakes he made. Maybe you care to point out what he did wrong? That wasn't even a depip squad with BNPs. Just your regular swf on comms with nothing too OP.

I don't have time to watch stream and wait for competent rank 1 team on high wall map. Just post a link to VOD with a time stamp. With the way matchmaking is now, most of my games as rank 1 killer are against lower rank solos. But even 2 rank 1 SWF on comms will win most of time. Indoor maps, other than Elementary with the long straight corridors, and may as well not bother. I want to see the video that shows how to do well on those.

I tell people this, and I have 200+ hours into Trickster already with 9k full laceration damage, and consistent 4k's every game. I personally use corrupt, ruin, bbq, and shadowborn, but that's just me. People still believe Trickster is trash tier when in reality with the right set up he can absolutely destroy survivors with no thought. Mainly with cut thru u single and the edge of revival album. That addon combo is absolutely bonkers.
Okay. It would be easy for you to post a video of you demolishing rank 1 survivors on a map with predominantly high walls. Or any red rank SWF team maybe. Otzdarva struggled to get 2k against competent teams, so you obviously know something that can teach us all. I'll wait for that youtube/twitch link to your gameplay.

Rarely? I call BS on that one. Rank 1 survivors know how to find ruin quickly. You gotta make up believable lies.

As a trickster main, i know this might make my opinion less valuable but nevermind that, i don't think he's as weak as people say he is. Despite his underwhelming second power (main event) he still feels great to me. With the right perk build and addons he can be really strong. I rarely ever loose a trickster match. My trickster is currently p3, all perks. If some of you are looking to play him here's my build, Corrupt, ruin, iron maiden and bbq, for addons i use, usb and bloody boa(or trick pouch).
Maybe in low ranks. But in high ranks that build is garbage. Without Undying or POP as a backup, your ruin will be gone very quickly. Smart survivors will search for it while your Corrupt is active, unless you get lucky and totem spawns in area not affected by Corrupt.
