I agree with you but as you can see in the comments below your post, the vast majority of the community is toxic and selfish. That's how the world is, bringing more and more toxic situations but ppl still continue thinking they have the right as only their own miserable life matters.

That's the main problem in this game and all others, selfishness. "My enjoyment is more important than yours and most of the time my enjoyment only exist because I destroy yours". Imagine how trash their IRL life might be to have such a mindset...

    True :(

What those people don't understand is that everyone can behave selfish. And if everyone just went the easy way, only caring for their own needs this world would be a horrible place. Just because some of us try to take into account what others want, feel and need doesn't mean we aren't capable of behaving selfish. Like we could, we just decide to behave like the decent person we want to be even if it isn't beneficial for us.

I won't change though, cause only caring for oneself is easy but takes away a lot of humanity.

  • Right you are. But you gonna live with others judging your behaviour :)

Those questions make no sense. What does the role killer mean to you? Cause by what you're saying it seems like it means baby sitter to you. I personally like to play the killer role of killing survivors not limiting myself because one person was selfish. Me continuing to play normally never makes me selfish. If anything I think its selfish to think someone should play nice because of "morals" it's an online game you will people that have little to no morals for other because they try to win.

It is one side to play on this game. That is what playing killer means to me. Just like survivor, it is one side of two to play in dbd.

Morals do apply always, they are universal and they don't vanish in any circumstance or situation. Some people stick to the implicit rules that are based on morals. Some people do not care for the implicit rules unless they benefit themselves. People that define themself as a good or decent person probably tend to stick to those rules more then others. If someone throws trash on the street it is not selfish to tell them that they should clean it up as it is bad for the enviorment and nature. You might not like people telling you that your behaviour is not ok. But you gotta endure that if you decide to violate moral rules.

And before you get started on "but this is just a game, it is not reality": Yes, it is a game, but you and the people that you play with/against are real. Yes, you playing any role will not gain or loose you anything. But yes, your behaviour is as real as the people that you are playing with/against. How you behave is as important as how you communicate with those people. Just like you wouldn't throw a door into someone that tries to walk through it behind you, you shouldn't behave your worst just because you feel like no one can see or judge.

When did I say that playing normal is selfish? I did not. Though I guess what you call "normal" is somewhere else on the scale from nice to disgusting where I would put it.

And again: You can play however you like, but you will have to take responsibility for your decisions and actions. And I and anyone that feels like it, is free to judge your behaviour however we like. Sorry if you don't like that, but your actions have consequences. Always.

probably a decent indication is if the killer has zero interest in sticking around the hook or is only starting to proxy to some degree as a lot of gens go by, but there isn't really a metric to figure out if anyone's going to be a [richard] or not until they are yeah

if i did get the opportunity to kill someone in a multi-streamer game though and i wasn't being bagged and sagged + gen speeds didn't tell me that they were only interested in escaping i'd probably just leave someone on ground on death hook, tend to do that a lot for sudden 3v1 games anyway

Yeah I tend to do the same. But unlike when I started to play, there is nearly no one left that trusts anyone anymore. It was a common thing when I started that you were communicating no only with your teammates but also sometimes with the killer. In the first and 2nd year of playing I helped multiple killers and survivors to get throphies, bloodpoints or whatever if they indicated it. It wasn't all that competetive it was more fun because the people were different. Back then I've never once encountered someone being dishonest.

Nowadays I know, that some special people and their behaviour seem to have had a deep impact for many people. To me that is very very sad. Especially how those people think that their behaviour has 0 impact and that they can just behave in the most horrible ways and do not realize that they do change others.

I never said they told me how to play, I said that they suggest that I play a way to make it more fun for them. Also I don't get how playing a certain way = you are an egoist/selfish I guess I can turn that moral question around on you.

If someone behaves selfish. What would you call that? If someone continues to behave selfishly what would you call that person?

If someone has no reason and no gain from behaving selfishly but still behaves selfishly, how would you interpret that?

I do generally play nice myself if there's an early DC as killer mainly because I know how much it sucks to have that happen.

However I do acknowledge that it would be horribly selfish of me to expect others to do the same when they aren't in the wrong for what happened.

The killer isn't the one who did anything wrong its the survivor who DCed who cause it.

How is it selfish to expect moral good behaviour from another human being? Or would you be happy if the killer you gave you the hatch? Then I guess, I understand what you mean by "horribly selfish...".

You know I am much about integrity. If the killer camps and tunnels everyone except for me and then tries to rehabilitate him-/herself and his/her conscience by offering the hatch or door to me, I don't take it. I don't care for winning or loosing. I care for morals, respect and every person trying to be a good and decent person (with loyality, integrity, respect, honesty, ethical attitude, empathy (emptionally and cognitivly), a sense for justice and fairness, helpfulness, responsibility).

speaking of bp offerings on that subject one thing that perturbs me is seeing like 2-3 party streamers and then getting genrushed in 3m or so (i tend not to run any gen defense perks on a lot of killers cough) and them flying out the gate with many teabags and about 9-11k points

like breh i wouldn't even kill any of you after 2nd hook i just want some fat bp come baaaaaaaAAAAAAAAACK AT LEAST TAKE HATCH AUGH

If you read some of the posts here you might get an idea as to why some survivors do that. I can tell you some storys about sadistic psychopathic behaviour of killers that I would have never thought of. Then again I am a good person, I am always surprised how disgusting some people behave (mostly when they behave in a way I couldn't even imagine). Some people just aren't good in their core and that can lead to mayor distrust in those experiencing it. I usually don't care enough about winning loosing to not give the people I'm playing with and agaist the benefit of a doubt whether they're good or bad. But if they turn out to be bad, if possible I'll make sure they know what I know.

But you still got a point in that.

  • @Brimp said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2585863#Comment_2585863

Its also the fact of them suggesting that we play the way they want when we paid for the game... Like why should I have to placebo myself just so you can get 2000 more bp when its the dc'd persons fault the game went that way?

Nobody tells you how to play. Btw what is it with the I paid for it so I can do whatever I want thing? Morals don't care if you paid for something or not. Moral right behaviour is right in any circumstance. You write as if anyone forces you to play in a specific way. No one does that. You want to act selfish, go ahead. Be an egoist. No one can stop you. You have all the power to behave however you wish.

Doesn't that make you happy? What you don't get to ask is how others judge your behaviour. You gotta live with that.

  • @Warcrafter4 said:

Your teammate is the one who wronged you and caused the game to be terrible for you, not the killer whom is just trying to play normally.

Why SHOULD the killer more or less concede a game for you by asking them to go easy on you(Which is what your asking for) when they did nothing wrong?

Nobody but the person that dc'ed is responsible for it, therefore there is no need in stating the obvious. But it is selfish to just decide to make sure nobody but you will have fun, it is your responsibility if you decide to tunnel and camp in a 3 vs.1. Having no sense for fairness isn't anything to be proud of. Only caring for oneselfs needs and wishes is selfish. You don't like to be called selfish? Well it is your and only your responsibility how you decide on how to act.

Btw I don't care for bloodpoints neighter and I got out. This is not for me (I know I know, some of you cannot even a bit understand why I would care for unknown survivors but you know that is called emotional empathy :) You should try to get some it makes great people), but I do feel bad for those that spend the bloodpoint offerings getting nothing out of it and leaving the game with less then 10.000. What kind of person does that and does not care about others?

Just because I don't care about bloodpoints, doesn't mean I have to ignore and dismiss how others feel about it. It is not like playing fair, respectful and giving oportunities would cost me ANYTHING (or anyone playing killer for that matter). It would be pure egoism to not do play the game the right way.

You want to act selfish? Go ahead. No one will stop you. Except you don't get to ask for people to not judge you on your behaviour. That is a rightful thing for anyone to do: Judge people on how they behave.

  • @ ThickBudhha

"What would you call it if not playing nice? Playing mean?"

Somehow the quote option isn't working for me.

Playing normal? You do know, that there is barely ever a black and white to anything. It's mostly grey all the time. One can play nice, chill, fair, normal, competitive, tryhard, unfair, disgusting and everyhing in between.

This was the 2nd time I've ever played them.

They didn't do great the first time but they had a really bad game the 2nd time.

Nobody got targeted, I can give you a play-by-play if you want.

No need for that. You know how you behaved. If what they write it is totally unfair and unreasonable, then you know that you didn't do anything morally wrong. Sometimes it still bothers, but as long as you know that you behaved in a correct, fair and respectful way you should just block them and move on. (At least in this case I guess you cannot do anything else)

What helps sometimes, if you feel like you have might been unfair to someone, is being honest and understanding.

  • @Pulsar said:

No, not because it isn't fun or it's too stressful.

It definitely ISN'T fun and it IS way too stressful but I'm literally sitting in 20-25 minute queues for every Killer.

My matches are lasting MAYBE 8 minutes. I either get stomped or stomp. My current queue for Spirit has been going for 19 minutes as of now.

To top it off, there's not even a guarantee that I'll be able to play a match. The infinite load bug, crashes and DC's are extremely common. Not to mention the general state of high MMR, but that's been discussed too much anyway.

This is absolutely unacceptable and ridiculous that my queue times dwarf my actual match times.

Yep exactly why I don't play much killer at the moment. Finding a lobby is no problem, but as soon as we start loading in I can just leave an watch a movie. If I actually load into I most of the time am doing something else already, cause after checking every 2 minutes for 15 minutes I do something else. Had some games that after waiting for 15 minutes just crashed and send me back to the menu.

  • @Pulsar said:

Beating a dead horse on this one, I know (sorry Maurice).

I've been getting constant not-so-nice messages for weeks now. Considering MMR matches me up with these same Survivors every day, it's been getting exhausting.

I'm in a good spot mentally-speaking, but I am terrified for the people who aren't because I remember when I wasn't. A message like the one's I've been getting for weeks now easily could've triggered a downward spiral and I desperately don't want that to happen to anyone.

Either way, messages like these are all too common and they've really been weighing me down lately.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/62V1820C79EC/why-2-png.png

I'd just like a "you played well" every once in a while. This ######### is pretty much routine at this point. Play a match, get some variation of the above. I'm just tired of it.

Hmm it kind of sounds like you tunneled and camped one special person and that this person is very upset because it wasn't a one time thing. I had 2 "stalkers" or whatever you wanna call it. They kept tunneling and camping me whenever I got them as killer, letting everony else get out. They did write gg :) after each game, which was just a disgusting sadistic provocation. I recorded the incidents and submitted a ticket for each time it happened. Haven't seen those two around, so I hope they did something about them.

Gotta be honest, if you did to this person what my "stalkers" did to me I can 100% understand why you got those messages.

It's true words can hurt, but behaviour can hurt, too. Not saying it is ok to write something like that (as I wrote I recorded everything and (hopefully) suceeded in them getting banned, but my thoughts might have been comparable). Some kind of behaviour isn't ok neighter and one cannot expect to not get a comment on that.

I guess what I am trying to say is, that you should reflect on your actions and take responsibility for your part in that story. People tend to believe that any behaviour is ok, as long as it isn't against the rules. Well guess what: Some kinds of behaviour will make people write you a text (and some might even do so just beacuse they're frustrated or still kids). But one should know if there is some truth in it and if they should adapt their behaviour if they're getting a lot of rude messages. (I myself got about five rude messages since I started playing this game, not as rude as yours though, but that must be due to me playing fair unless I'm provoked a lot)

  • I have less problems getting into a game as survivor. Loading screen for killer is way longer and a lot of times it takes so long that one of the survivors leaves leading to me loosing my offering etc.

I just cannot play killer at the moment.

  • @theblimp said:

Just had a match where I was body blocked in front of the hook by a survivor and couldn't get the hook. So why can survivors do this when killers can't?

As killer you could bodyblock the hook... . You can bodyblock windows, doors, chests. Just survivors don't hook each other, so there isn't really a point to bodyblock the hook.

It seemed like it was working, at first, but now it seems kind of sketchy. Sometimes I get good teammates, but more often than not, I get bad ones. Then, I either go against baby killers or fully geared try hard killers. I'm not really seeing it balance out like it should. The fact that it is just based on escapes and kills, rather than the skilled based MMR they promised, is really a let down. It makes me wonder why it took them so long to implement such a basic system.

I am starting to doubt that the system actually works like that. I've been dying like 15 games in a row to see if something changes -nothing-. Still the same kind of killer. I am starting to wonder if they are telling us the truth.

I'm actually starting to think that it only applies for survivors. I get killers with perks from recent characters like lethal pursuer on wraight (for example) level 3 playing pretty good and teammates with urban, spinechill + dark sense and technician or selfcare... .

Kinda unfun and unfair (I eighter run the killer till nearly all gens are done and I get facecamped or don't get saved with the other 3 escaping or I kill myself on first hook as soon as I see 2 or even all 3 of them crouching in the corner of a map with 3-4 K's).

Why are you like this? Every time I needed BT, I see them using self care in the perk list. So annoyingggg

I don't feel like BT does anything anymore, I feel like it just encourages bad plays that benefit the killer. I think it was only good for endgame, but how mmr works now, it's probably not worth it at all (dying for a teammate in the endgame will just get you killers that probably facecamp and survivors that are too scared to save you. And bt is so easy to outwait, it is only 12 seconds anyway.

But I don't like how most people use selfcare. Like the typical szenario is the following: The selfcarer and I are on an important middle gen (3 gen preventing) and it is nearly done, tinkerer went off. We both get hit, but the killer can only follow one person. If he decides to go for me, the gen will not get done most of the time. Because the selfcarer needs to run to a far away corner to selfcare for 'eternity', instead of pressuring that generator. That gen needs to be done and is in "danger" to get regressed by ruin or pop goes the weasel, they run off selfcare in the furthest corner. By the time I get hooked they are done selfcaring, rush in to get the gen done. BUt it is eighter already decreased due to ruin or the killer hits them to use pop on the gen. Then again they have to run off to a far away corner of the map (not before dropping a good palett to prevent them from getting chased) and selfcare for another 'eternity'.

In the end the whole team dies to the (now unbreakable) 3 gen (yes, the killer has a brain and knows that he should protect that gen) and they believe it isn't their fault at all. They (usually) even state how everyone else was "so bad at the game, that they were hooked/dead on hook" whilst the selfcarer hasn't been hooked till the very end. To get 1 hooked (due to everyone else being dead) or if (undeservedly lucky) get the hatch.

I don't understand, but those even seem to believe that they did well. XD What a joke. Usually those are the ones that throw every palett immediately creating dead zones in order to prevent having to heal up for 'eternity' again.

**Long rant blabla for those that feel offended by what I stated prior:**

I'd rather like to have smart teammates that simply use their brain and common sense: Getting chased by the killer? Great, give him distraction in an area without pressure (no gens, no slug, no hooked ones). Loop him in a corner of the map preferably where the gen is done. A teammate is hooked nearby and it's not the last one beside you alive? Leave the area to another coner, so that person can get saved safely. Don't farm them even if you brought bt (if people do, most killers understandably start to camp as soon as they realize that hook pressure equals 2 survivors busy doing nothing). You get found near the basement? It's better to loop away from the basement, try not to get hooked there.

You are on the hook? Chill someone will save you. If the killer sees you waving your arms he might assume someone is coming for the save already. No one coming? Look for the killer if he chases someone and you are sure he isn't looking at you, wave once to indicate you need someone to go for the save. Someone is on their way already? Just chill. The rescuer brought we'll make it? don't move and let yourself get healed on the spot unless the killer is right there and headding towards you. You are afraid with no reason? Just chill you're probably healed b4 he gets back.

You aren't getting chased or on the hook? Great do a gen. You have finished the one you spawned already? Great have a look if you spot a totem (remeber where it is or better cleanse it). Done a totem, too? Try to spot a possible 3 gen and prevent it from happening. A person is on a hook nearby and going closer to 2nd status? Save the person and heal up if possible.

You spot a totem b4 a gen, cleanse it. Even dull totems give you information about the killers perks: undying? thrill of the hunt? etc.

You know/relize that the killer has certain perks? Try to use them to benefit the team: bbq -> If you haven't been hook and should take a chase and hook for the team? Please don't hide in a locker! stbfl -> you are the obession, try to get him to loose stacks. tinkerer -> use it as needed. Distract him the killer from a hooked or tunneled person. Use it as a bait if needed.

Get hit next to a palette? Don't drop it, spot the closest loop that you can get to with that sprint from the hit.

You are not good at looping? Don't be too afraid to get spotted and chased, you'll end up on a hook at some point anyway. Just try to extend the chase without using paletts, try windows instead and use the sprint from getting hit first by running straight.

I probably missed many, but I guess people should be good to go with these. At least I wish some people would try to think about a strategy and what the consequences of their actions might be.

Too vague of a question honostly. A lot goes in to deciding to camp or not. Yes I will camp if i feel it's the right decision. But camping them all through stage 2 typically isn't the correct move.

Sorry english isn't my first language I think I haven't explained good enough.

The survivor on their first hook just did not get saved. The killer chasing someone else and no one went to get that person. The killer hooks the last downed and goes back to check on the prior hooked that now is nearly dead. All gens done. What would you do?

Stay by the latest hooked survivor in the basement

Go to the nearly dead survivor nearby

    Check the exits nearby

    Try to find another survivor

  • @Clevite said:

To be fair, it's not like half the kilkers are going leave the hook anyway.

    But, you're not wrong!

Why would they if a lot of players rush to the hook and there is no gens done? It is not the killers fault if a survivor gets his/her teammates killed. I wouldn't take advantage of that as I like to punish selfish behaviour as killer. I try to make sure the "Antimate" is going to die for selfish behaviour and trying to kill the teammates.

  • @Triplehoo said:

Looping the killer around and near the hooks? Just stop it. Rather try to take the killer AWAY from the hook so that other survivors can rescue the one that was hooked, or that he/she can perform deliverance to unhook them safely.

Come on, people. This is not a rocket science.

I cannot recall how many times I asked myself if I am the only one confused and unhappy about that behaviour. Why would someone getting chased run toward or loop around/nearby the hooked survivor (or loops by unfinished middle gens or above the basement)? I mean do they really expect to get saved safely and on first hook if they selfishly try to kill the other teammates?

Tbh if someone looped around a survivor resulting in them getting to 2nd status, I'll make sure to let them taste their own medicine. You'll find me on a gen or doing totems (even if they have kindred and even if the other person not dead on hook is chased) or if I am chased I'll be running around their hook till it is sure they hit 2nd. If not, I'll work on progress till the farming "Antimate" gets to 2nd status and then I might go for the save. If I don't have something more important to do, like taking a hit for the teammate dead on hook or something. I hope they learn their lesson.

It should be criminal to unhook your teammates without it

Nah. Survivor should learn how to unhook safely instead of just farming with a 15 sec useless perk. I prefer we'll make it, as most players are too scared to do a gen or anything injured and waste everyones time selfcaring in a far away unsave corner for half the match. Bt is only useful in endgame or if the killer is camping.

  • @Ssajbambusa said:

Seriously, if you even considered marking 1 or 3, you are the reason killers do camp and tunnel :).

Just like noed. You can cry like a little baby about not so good perk or just... cleanse totems...

I despise your offered options. The worst is: "Cry about it in post game chat".

I know it is common these days that people try to shame emotions, but it is wrong. Every emotion is justified and ok to have. Shaming emotions or someone expressing them is wrong and malious.

This is the harsh truth with this game, it turns into a situation where you're only as good as your randoms/teammates , you could run the killer for five minutes straight and if no one does the gens how much did it really matter ?

I'd say that is real issue. I don't see keys that often. I like to bring green keys with the add on to see the obsession. I rarely bring a key that can open the hatch and only if it's needed for a challenge. I don't care for the keys and I wouldn't mind if there weren't any purple or above keys in the blood webs. But sometimes it's nice to find a key in game.

btw ... myers is so weak killer ... as all killers said

I don't understand the purpose of the post. But you are obviously trying to make the person that posted it feel dumb or inferior or something along the line. I don't like that.

Holy ######### I've never seen so many back to back games where a killer facecamps a minute into a game. This is ridiculous and just proves the point: devs' lack of willingness to bother fixing this, rather than being lazy and letting it destroy games is out of hand now.

At higher MMR, it's pretty much all you see now. It's not fun, it's not fair, and it's making the game incredibly difficult to swallow. Either SBMM needs to be turned off, or this ######### needs dealing with.

Just die quickly some games in a row and you'll have it a little less often. People decide how they behave in the game and all you can do is telling them their behaviour is morally wrong (cause it is). Though you'll have to make sure that your behaviour is morally right so you aren't contradicting yourself (a problem in many people and an explanation as to why there are so many defending morally wrong behaviour). The game rules say it is okay, therefore it is something the devs feel ok with and I doubt they care about changing it.

The average killer pretty much must tunnel someone down to start a semblance of a fair match. It's bonkers.

It's really not fun; killer is so hard now. Too hard for me, apparently (to get a jump on the "git gud" kids). I suppose bunk ass BHVR lost another killer.

Why do some people (you might be able to give an insight as you do it) shift the responsibility of their decisions and actions? The game doesn't make you tunnel, it doesn't force anyone to behave in a certain way. You are always free to decide how to behave and what you decide. If you made a decision and carry out a specific behaviour, it is 100% your decision and 100% your behaviour.

If you would quit the part of extending chases would be okayish but fixing mistakes when the other part need them to commit em is extremely bullshit

Have you considered watching some good players on YouTube? I feel your problem might be something else than dead hard. Try someone like FunGoose (he explains a lot and voices his thoughts).

Also, I'm the kinda guy that will always say gg even of you get a 4k. As long as there was no BM or toxic behaviour then youd get a gg from me (I'm on console though so I'm limited to who I can say gg to)

Side note: if theres a toxic survivor on my team I'll be cheering you on to get him lol

Haha same and on console as well. But most people have disables messages so you can't even write them a message.

    Nurse will outpace

    Blight will outpace

    Wraith will outpace

    Billy will outpace

    Victor will outpace

    Spirit will outpace

Oni with Demon Dash will outpace

Freddy will teleport in front of them

Demo will teleport in front of them and can close an 11 meter gap as it's attack.

Hag will teleport on top of them and hit them

    Huntress will snipe

    Deathslinger will pull

Plus a smart player will just leave the chase and apply pressure to gens.

Yeah happened a 3rd time, this time as a solo without my sister. I took images and submitted a ticket. The Entity really is coming at me lol

Sorry to hear that. Unfortunately I guess your best choise is to quit dbd for today and switch to something else. It's like murphys law is part of this game.

Honestly I won't acknowledge survivors escaping with a key. It is just the cheapest ######### I can think of. I have a great game as executioner. All of a sudden the last two survivors have been 3 genned and have basically given up on trying to do generators. As if it's my fault you 3 gened yourself. And you get rewarded by bringing a key in with addons and escaping?

I honestly don't know why anyone explains about keys. If they bring a key, so what? Usually they don't even find the hatch in time and brought it for no reason. Sure every now and then someone gets to escape with a key, but that is so rare I don't even pay attention. Then again I am not entiled to 4K's all the time (maybe that is the reason for some to complain?). Has anyone at least one good argument as to why they are so upset about those rare key escapes? Cause tbf I just don't get it.

If I play survivor I only bring a key if it is a challenge, but I'll bring the offering for hatch spawn, too. I am just as incapable of finding it same as the survivors that I vs. seem to be. And if I find a key in game and have a better item (yellow or better medkit, flashlight and green or better toolbox) or don't plan to survive anyway I'll just leave it in the box. That is how much I value those keys.

I have not got timed out, but there were a couple of times I think I was massively depipped like I DC’ed, but it was actually the killer. I was on the verge of going up one grade both times then next thing I know 1 game later, I’m down to one pip out of five in the same grade. What the hell?? Wish I was paying closer attention to what my pips were when those killers DC’ed (for confirmation). Next time I will.

I had both. I didn't pay much attention neighter cause I really don't care for pips or points or whatever. Would still be nice to know, so if you encounter it again maybe give an update.

This happened games 2 in a row . I'm about to try a 3rd and hopefully it doesn't happen again 😔

I didn't have it 2 times in a row yet. Not even 2 times the same day. I wish u luck that it won't happen again today.

Just had a match with 2 killers in the game, 2 nurses to be exact that just slugged majority of the game then killed me (the only console player) then let the other 2 players farm. They were only 3 survivors in the match. Does the in game report do anything?

Nothing. As console player that reported some things a long time ago I tell you to leave it to Pc players to report. It takes a LOT of time and effort and really isn't worth it.
