And I still wont care? Its not an official statement so theres no reason to believe it. If it turns out to be an actual hint cool, you can feel superior, but why get hyped on bullsjit emojis?
They did 🍭 and simon references before pyramid head, highly hinting at candyman or pinhead, and we got neither.
If it's not posted as an actual message, dont believe it's the 100% truth.
And if you really need to come back to say "I told you so", then go for it, you obviously need it to feel better when I was simply being logical.
So how do i say this respectfully...i was right. You were wrong. Have a nice day.

The problem is that they’re in two different worlds. Most casual players complain about tunnelling and camping for example, but if you watch a tournament you’ll see both those things quite often and the survivors don’t complain about it because they know it’s necessary. It’s basically impossible to compete against a good tournament team with a low tier killer or without some amount of tunnelling. Tournaments also put restrictions or bans on certain perks, add ons and items for a reason.
DBD is really not designed or balanced for comp play, and most of the player base doesn’t even know that DBD tournaments exist. 99% of the player base is casual. The people who want killers like Spirit or PH nerfed are casual players, because we want the casual game experience to be fun. (I’m not using “casual” to be derogatory btw, I’m a casual player 100%.) Comp players usually won’t complain about killers being OP or needing nerfs because they know that against a tournament team, even an amazing Nurse isn’t guaranteed anything.
Then Like tru3 says the killer gets nerfed for the casual players spreading the gap between killers and survivors in top level/tournament play. When already up there all you got is spirit and nurse. A good michael might be amazing but he obviously lacks pressure as hes a m1 killer. A freddy is still a m1 killer even though he can teleport and slowdown.

Yeah, one of the devs posted an image in response to the question posed after they posted 2 emojis.
How does that confirm anything? It's not an official statement, and they troll with hints and fake clues all the time. Re read what I said. "If its not an OFFICIAL STATEMENT".
Alright but if this ages poorly ill be back lol and you dont know crossing your fingers then a play button.... come on your smarter than that.

I personally pair it with the add-on that makes him move faster and do just fine with it. For me, the strength comes from knowing exactly what survivors are doing and being able to patrol gens without having to really ‘look’ for people hiding nearby. I rarely play Wraith as I don’t have a lot of good perks on him. But I’ve won against 4-man teams when using that add-on as I just find it very strong. This whole video wasn’t a good example as True makes so many errors and gives up. He literally spends the entire match talking about Spirit nerfs and how he isn’t having fun. I watched the entire video and at no point did I think “that was unavoidable” he just made a series of mistakes and created no pressure.
To reply to your edited message, I don’t think Spirit needs any nerfs. I run Spine Chill a lot though, so I don’t have any problem with her. I don’t think she’s as good as people say she is as I constantly see her being destroyed in matches. Again, it’s the player that’s good. Not the killer. No killer hands somebody a free win.
Spine Chill+iron will kinda makes spirits entire thing pointless. You know shes coming and are completely silent (unless she has stridor then your half as loud as normal). He literally posted a video a week ago where he had to play as no mither iron will against spirit and outplayed her so much because he was completly silent even with stridor (even though he was perma broken)

Again. I didn’t say he shouldn’t use all available killers. If he has the audacity to say that only Spirit and Nurse can win against those type of people, he is wrong and he should stick to the killers where his skill level comfort zone is at. Which in his opinion is Spirit and Nurse.
I don’t play Huntress, because I am bad with her. That doesn’t mean she is bad...She is just not in my skill comfort zone. It’s a pretty simply concept.
You can’t predict a match because of “feel” , most people who throw a pallet right away aren’t normally good at looping. It’s why they feed pallets in the first place.
Id say maybe can compete is a wrong choice of wording but they do have the best chance as spirit completely turns chases the other way. And nurse if ya can time your blinks and predict its easy downs. Against a good team of loopers who are genrushing you need a killer who can get quick downs and apply pressure. Wraith is definitely not it and its a problem. Even maybe if he played optimum i doubt hed have gotten more than a 1k as it was like 3 bts and 2 ds's.

I know. But it’s still a waste of a perk slot. If I’m using an add-on that comes with aura reading abilities, I don’t see the point in using it. The range is smaller but the benefits are greater as it’s not only limited to people being healed.
Also the problem is with the aura reading one you need a bell silencer addon or else its kinda useless as wraith is meant to ambush survivors with those 2.

As I said earlier in the thread, this is just an agenda that needs to stop. Why am I and plenty of other players able to beat teams like this as Michael or Deathslinger? I also have plenty of hours in this game and I’ve gone against a lot of teams like the ones in the video. I never once thought to myself “I wish I was playing as Spirit.” As I personally don’t like playing as her. When I want an ‘easy’ match I’ll play as Michael as for me, he’s the best killer in the game as he’s who I am most comfortable with. It’s a player issue. Not a killer one.
I don’t get why he brought up Nurses either when he’s using an add-on that lets you see auras? Wouldn’t Nurses with those add-ons be completely useless?
Nurses Has double the range at 24 meters. Also me and my 4 man swf can get on right now put on decent perks and absolutely destroy a spirit so does she need nerfed then? Its the same thing as you playing michael against a decent team (who i highly doubt are tourney players because michael is rarely used in tourney because its very easy to loop a m1 killer)
-
Another problem is like he says in the comments against godly survivor teams you need to have like the best build or a "high tier" killer but its to hard for survivors to run iron will against spirit which is literally a decent perk on its own anyway? You shouldnt be forced to play the best of the best killers to face a optimum swf. That's the problem with this game. Theres good killers that can deal with them (nurse and spirit) then they get nerfed because their "to strong" hell billy couldnt do crap against decent teams yet still got nerfed.
-
@Yamaoka said:
It took him literally 5 minutes to get the first hook.
That's not a Wraith issue or killer issue in general. That's an "overrated streamer tries hit and run against decent survivors who do gens at all times" issue.
Guessing he was trying to get thana slowdown.
-
@Veen said:
A "game not balanced bc my favorite streamer lost a game" thread, nothing interesting here.
Nah game isnt balanced because a 4 man swf tourney team can pretty much be close to unstoppable then when you make a killer to match up with them that killer gets nerfed for destroying solos.
-
@TheLastGreatStar said:
He was using the “All Seeing” add-on which gives the Wraith a huge advantage as being able to see peoples auras is incredibly strong. Whenever I use that add-on I always win. As I just don’t see how survivors are supposed to play against it unless you just really drop the ball (like when he missed his first hit on Dwight and then left him alone) he just created no pressure which is why he lost the match.
I’ve faced plenty of teams like the one in the match above and I’ve beaten them as Michael or Deathslinger. I’ve also lost some. It just depends on different variables. I wouldn’t say you have to play as Spirit to be able to beat them. As I know from my own experience that isn’t factual.
We need to stop pushing this whole “Spirit and Billy are the only viable killers at red ranks” - then why am I able to consistently 4K as other killers? They may be EASIER to play as, but it all comes down to the player.
They did have spine chill so idk if it completly ruins the point of all seeing though.

Oh somehow he knew she was good? Gotcha.
Instead he spent his time b*tching about it and they got 5 gens instead.
He is clearly bad with Wraith and should stick with Spirit, It’s more his skill level.
Its not hard to run the killer shack. Also id love to see you try against these teams with this kind of a killer and expect to fair any better. And so you admit spirit is balanced around godly swfs? That means shes fine right? I mean team oracle plays in tourneys and said even spirit isnt op or broken. (Since literally the only 2 killers used in tourneys is nurse and spirit)
-
@Johnny_XMan said:
He spends his first two minutes complaining about “these types of people” and I just wanna be like CHASE SOMEONE!
Seriously, this can’t be said enough. You have commitment issues at the start of the match, and act like you’ve given up? Then don’t complain when gens are poppin.
Killer is not the problem, it’s the player.
The Claud at the beggining immediately went to the shack so tru3 didnt want to waste like 40 seconds against a looper at a god pallet. If he did the other 3 would have just rushed gens.
-
@CrossMode said:
Man, i never seen Tru3 became a ######### of survivors before... He denied the spirit challenge, because the team is brutal... Btw, tru3 chat with the morons with class, super polite, i respect that.
Well there was literally nothing he could do they were tourney players so they know every loop every possible pallet location probably and the best build to counter every killer.
-
-
Kinda funny how the 2 killers that can face a 4 man optimum swf and have control of chases and are actually kinda scary need nerfs. But thisll get lost in the echo chamber.
-
Hopefully crossplay if it comes tommorow comes in great so we don't have that failure to.
-
Sorry but gonna take a word out of your favorite youtuber. "Theres nothing more boring than a facecamping bubba"
https://youtu.be/jAuCjLfxZQkAnd itll probably be why noed gets nerfed in the future. Otz did a stream for 8 hours to prove bubba with noed facecamping is the unbeatable strategy and only lost to a streamsniping 4 man swf. Whats that tell ya.
-
I love when im working on the last gen to save me and the 2nd survivor when i just see the hatch open and shut in the corner. Sigh head over and work on a gate the killer downs me and kills me on hook. Hate this goddam item from both killer and survivor.

2k is not a win and has never been, it's what the devs consider "balanced match" and that's it. Even back in the days of Victory Cube it took more than 2 kills to pip. Now 2 kills by camping lead to a depip for sure so that's not a win - no matter how you twist it.
Is there a VOD of that available? When did he do that? And what were the win conditions?
BTW: Otzdavra has roughly 6000 hours in Dead By Daylight. I would assume most of his opponents are potatoes in comparision so surely he is able to end chases faster than the regular "facecamping NOED bubba". Let him try that against four 6k hours Survivor mains and see how it goes, I'm sure they won't go down that quick.
He Did it on twitch but i can only go back a month now. Big sad. But im sure he faced some 6k hour survivors in a 8 hour long livestream. Ill check to see if he put a clip on yt.

Not really, no.
When the match starts not a single pallet is used so there should be plenty of loopable obstacles. If you end up in a dead zone without a sprint burst / lithe ready to reach a pallet it was your lack of map awareness that gave the Bubba a quick chase. An early hook is almost always the case of incompetent / impatient Survivors.
Quite ironically, the first hook is also the most important one for the Killers as it allows them to snowball. I'm always impressed how quickly Survivors give that away even though they have a fresh map with 20 pallets available.
Yet otz did the noed camping combo for 8 hours and only lost to a 4 man stream snipe with maps and small game. So if this combo works that well even up there theres some variable that were missing and peanits confirmed they were looking at the noed bubba combo for that reason. Probably because your guaranteed at least a 2k with how camping is and noed being a instadown for free at the end. Which a 2k is a win in the devs eyes.

If you get downed against a Leatherface in 30-40 seconds you deserve to lose. Keeping the Killer busy for as long as possible is a major aspect of DbD, probably the most important one and Leatherface is one of the easiest Killers to loop even now after his buff.
Besides, the same perks exist for Survivors aswell, namely DS and BT. Unsafe unhooks in front of the Killer. Go ahead and kill the injured Survivor and waste time going through BT and DS. Or chase the other Survivor and go through the 3 hook stages again.
Depends On the map and your positioning and what the bubbas using and the skill of said bubba. Not everyones a godly looper even in the top.
-
If i see one more do more bones arguement i swear tg. Peanits confirmed one major problem lies when the killers camping with noed or high pressure killers. Lets say killer downs first survivor in 30 seconds as bubba. Okay gens take 80 seconds to do so they are half way done when the killer starts to camp (10 seconds to hook). Death timer is 2 minutes one survivor hops off to go for the save and sees killers camping so has to come back killing like maybe 20 seconds while the other 2 gens pop. Survivor gets gen done while other survivors are starting on next gen survivor dies because its been 2 minutes. Killer heads over other survivor kills say maybe 30-40 seconds running. 2 survivors on gens takes 80 seconds each but it took 10 seconds for each of them to get to a new gen. They get last 2 gens done so they have 20 seconds to get the heck out. Killer leaves hook 5 seconds before survivor dies on hook and gets 3rd survivor with noed and facecamps him to death. So lets add totems to the equation now. Each totem takes 15 seconds meaning itd take 30 seconds for 3 of the survivors and 15 for another. This is why otz made facecamping bubba combo and its known as the "combo with no answer". It also sucks when you are being pressured by a high pressure killer like oni barely get the gens done just to get hit by another instadown on a already instadown killer. I understand the perk but if we really want to move away from swf and buff solos to their level noeds gonna be a prime candiate to look at. I can do 4 totems and be like "alright as long as survivors did literally 1 totem im fine" at the end i get hit by noed and die on hook. I did my job i cleansed 4 totems! Did gens and did saves! Why do i get punished for this!? This isnt even considered a team based game by the devs its considered a free for all yet perks like noed kinda force the "we need to work together" narrative. Bringing in small game puts you on totem duty which is still 70 seconds of cleansing if you do it by yourself and you always need to do it to assume noed. So either way noed is saving the killer time (even if they don't have it) its like killers with ds you can never know when the survivor has it so slugging is always a choice you need to maybe make (ive ran unbreakable but not ds for this reason i hope someone else brings ds so the killer slugs me to avoid it. Thats the power of a perk like it. Go ahead and waste time doing totems in fear of my perk i don't have i don't do hex's so your just giving me more pressure by wasting your time.

Everything you just said was completely unfiltered and lacks any form of thought. The same statement could be applied to literally any killer that's simply burning a Mori offering, up to and including the opinion at the end.
You have no idea of Michael's lore in this game do you? The reason he has the tombstone pieces is even the entity can't reach him and force him to even hook a survivor before killing them. Thats why the entities displeased when you use a mori or tombstone myers. Hes just pure evil incarnate and he will kill when he deams fit thats why he has the double iridescent combo where he can just kill all the survivors by hand. And when you do it you get the achivement "evil incarnate". Personally i love the tombstone pieces because they fit his character. The entity has mostly control on the other killers but michaels instinct is just to kill would removing the tombstone pieces make sense for his character. Not to mention good survivors sometimes dont even let you get out of tier 1 thats why hes lower tiered than other killers. Hes the definition of a m1 killer so is him having a addon that can kill one person after having a lot of stalk a bad thing? Even with a ebony michael isnt that threatening any killer can run a ebony that can get kills way better than him heck ph can mori passively now. The reason he probably has the tombstones is hes lacking in the other areas. He cant teleport slow down survivors shock them to prevent pallet drops doesn't have a ranged attack hes completly addon and perk dependent. (Which is why hes getting a addon rework after huntress).
-
@MadLordJack said:
I mean, tombstone piece is basically a Mori offering. It kinda does need nerfed. The time and effort into murdering a survivor is about the same as a normal Mori offering.

Just make it so people that DC are teleported to a basement hook so it's the same speed as hooking people, and not instant or something like that. Or add bots or something.
You could argue a bot is screwing them over to though since theyd just sit there on the ground but yeah maybe.

1. The real jack the ripper has never been identified. Kosminski was just a subject.
2. With all the interesting folklore and horror these still not utilized for killers, why pick a real life killer? That would be lazy and in poor taste.
3. Just because others have done it doesn't make it cool.
1. Ah alright.
2. A real life killer seems to be more scarier though since he is one of the most known real life killers that actually never got caught.
3. Understandable but it was never a problem when they did it but i do understand its 2020 so cancel culture and stuff is the norm.

No, he shouldn't. And neither should Bubba.
But we don't have Ted Bundy, the Butcher of Rostov or the Milwalkee Cannibal on the game because we don't want to glorify them.
When you translate some things or references to games, movies and books, you will have real world references, and it's not a problem. But when you start giving space to despicable people on pop culture, you not only pushes them away from the terrible things they did, but start a fandom revolving over them (or their representation ingame).
Jack The ripper is the character though since the identified who he actually was. Jack the ripper the character has been in a bunch of media. The multiple movies (including one he faces off against sherlock holmes) he's in assassind creed. There was a scooby doo back in time episode that involved him if i remember correctly. The character jack the ripper (who i don't even know is licensed) they could literally just do what they did was ghostface and name the killer "the ripper" and give him their own backstory. He'd probably be more of a scary character than the legion and clown anyway. You are not glorifying Aaron Kosminski as he wouldn't be the character in this world.

It would still be a glorification on the mutilation that he committed and I just DON'T want that, in any shape, with any actual serial killer. Like I said though, if they just gave the title of Jack The Ripper to a OC they create, I'd be fine. Just please, PLEASE don't give any honor to the actual people who committed such acts.
Well Jack was a unknown person (it was even rumored it wasnt just one person) so they could pull a ghostface and give him some bs backstory and name and just call them "the ripper"

Enduring is great. It allows you to play cocky and you can go for hits you otherwise wouldn't. NoeD is a good choice as it tricks out survivors if you have a base kit instadown. Thrilling Tremors is a good perk, although if you get BBQ, that should replace it.
As for Tinkerer, I'd swap it for Whispers. If you know how to use it, whispers can mean you don't have to spend an extra few seconds checking a gen in a corner which can end up saving a ton of time.
Tinkerer with silent saw though.
I normally get some lucky from behind chainsaw rush attacks because of silent saw and undetectable.

Ed Gein was supposedly an influence on who Leatherface is, but Leatherface isn't Ed Gein, the mask thing is inspired by him but I don't think those types of people are like - if i play leatherface I'm playing ed gein, because the only thing similar is the face facemask.
I thought jack also became more like a character instead of a real person since they obviously found out who he really was. Then jack the ripper (the character) got put into other games and movies like assassins creed syndicate and jack vs sherlock holmes.

It's not about it being offensive, but it's glorifying a real life murderer which I don't think is a good fit for this game, some people are absolutely sick in the head and fantasize about being these murderers etc, giving them a tool to play as them is something to avoid imo.
I Mean arent a lot of horror characters inspired by real life murderers. (Looking at you bubba)

Yeah i don't get it jack the ripper became his own entity when they identified who he actually was so we could get the jack the ripper Myth instead of obviously the real life murderer. (His kill count is way better than dbd legion and ghostface anyway so hed fit right in) lol
-
I mean we had him in assassins creed syndicate. I've never thought of actual characters but him as the killer then Sherlock holmes as the survivor (there was a book series called jack the ripper vs sherlock holmes) and the 1978 murder by decree movie.

Love how for your best mmr your supposed to do your best aka probably get 4 kills but every time i slug the 3rd and walk away they insta dc (i still normally find the hatch first but seriously though this mmr better not be punishing me for salty survivors)

There's two downsides to the new instant saw.
First, you are 4.4m/s which means survivors will have a much easier time looping you.
Second, survivors can just deny you the increased charge time by just prethrowing pallets. And you'll have a harder time forcing the stun because of the slower movement.
It'll still probably be good, but I don't think it'll dominate as hard as old instant saw.
Might be good with enduring spirit fury pallet instabreaks for you to basically instasaw them. Niche at best but yeah better than before.

It was running in the background but it wasn't used for matchmaking at this time, so because of that the current MMR is not fully accurate as you've seen - which settles within around 10 matches (10 matches with each of your various killers)....the system has been out for only a short while.
@SpaceCoconut I believe all this will remain hidden, if people can see their MMR it will be pretty easy to figure out what increases/decreases it so it will possibly be open to abuse at that time.
Rainbow overwatch and other games can do it without abuse i don't see why thisd be a problem for dbd. Especially when dbd isnt supposed to be competitive anyway.
