  • This...is actually not a bait thread surprisingly. And true on maps like red forest. I know people always argue over this but the 3 gen pop 1 chase is actually fairly common depending on spawns. You spend 20 seconds getting cross map. 20 seconds (chase average) getting first hit. 20 for second hit. 10 for say hooking. And now you have 10 left to get to a gen. And if you do you still lost 2 for your first hook. Its definitely a legitimate thing. Survivors get 3/5 of their objective done when the killer gets 1/12th.

The shards have been confirmed to not glow or move when Spirit is phasing.

She also doesn't move grass or corn, so don't worry about that either.

Huh. I have been lied to for so long. About the shards i knew the other stuff.

If that would be the case, Spirit would be less complained about.

Really? I thought its always been a thing that the shards glow when shes phases in her normal outfit?

btw:Personally i use the oni armor set. With the white flowing hair headpiece. Looks fricken cool.

  • I just laugh you gain less distance. Also i run brutal on some killers which surprises survivors.

Just because the perk is meant to dodge a hit, doesn't mean that you can't dodge a hit and then use the small distance gained to reach nearby safety. The perk has always had a small dash attached to for it.

Using Dead Hard out in the open has very little point as if you aren't nearby anything to use, you'll go down shortly later. You basically want to turn Dead Hard into a perk that turns everything into an open field for 5 seconds allowing the killer to down you regardless.

With this change, why would anyone run Dead Hard over another exhaustion perk like Lithe, Smash Hit, or Balanced Landing?

Yeah. Fair. Feels like it could still be adjusted in some way that pressing E won't result in a 40 second addition to chase. Which would really suck if all 4 survivors used it.

  • @Crowman said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2190728#Comment_2190728

That would absolutely kill the perk. I know the perk can be frustrating to play against, but 5 seconds is a long time given the short dash. The killer will down you in the next 5 seconds.

Isnt the perks point to avoid a hit? Not extend like 40 seconds to a chase? I forget dead hards intention at this point.

  • @Yords said:

How is this perk getting nerfed?

I know some people suggested dead hard make it so you cant throw pallets or vault windows for like 5 seconds after its active. Then people have to use it only to block a hit not for distance. Also just please remove it going through beartraps. Trapper sad.

  • Im confused this guy have a youtube or something i missed?

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

are you sure it's dead hard and not just ash using lithe after vaulting a pallet on gideon after the killer has vowed to slug him to death and you thinking it's dead hard?

Ill be a little fair to him (even though he doesnt deserve it) in the past week i think ive had 2 or more deadhards every game. I find myself respecting a survivor injured a lot because of it. And in other cases when a survivors going to a loop they shouldnt make im like "here it comes". Its so annoying. Even moreso when i block off a loop as trapper just for a survivor to deadhard OVER the trap and im the one dumb i guess. (Im agreeing to his point dead hard needs a fix nothing else)

  • Oh yeah i feel like i lose so many games because i keep sliding (shack being a big one). Its such a pain because its not intended but increases his skill gap (or in this case luck gap) so fricken high.

Played Wraith today and came across a Nancy that was healing with Inner Strength in a locker. I found her inside the locker still hiding and after the grab out of it she DS'ed me and I asked myself if this interaction is intentional, since DS does say that it deactivates when "healing yourself or others" or does Inner Strength not count as a "heal" in that case?

Probably not but the devs kept it in anyway. The devs said they didn't want to get rid of locker ds since tunnelers would just slug.

  • He was in fact NOT fine before. He became 126% while cloaked. 10 percent faster than normal. Windstorm base makes survivors respect his speed. The lunge after cloak scales to wraiths cloaked movement speed where for 1.25 seconds after uncloak he maintains his speed. Which stacks with lunge speed if you swing. I feel people are overeacting to wraiths current power and not using his various counters. Predropping pallets. Vaulting windows. Tight loops where the wraith can't uncloak in time. Ect. Wraith hard counters shift w which is a good thing.

You guys said you'd do this months ago there is no reason it should take me three months to level a character to prestige 3 and maybe have all the perks. Get rid of perk tiers already nobody is using tier 1 and 2 perks by choice the only time they use them is when it's all they have on characters they're being forced to play for challenges typically. I can't imagine what this grind is like for someone starting to play now it's ridiculous. If you really want to lessen the grind lower the costs of things. For the crappy amount of blood points survivor get by default the blood web leveling should be balanced around that or We're Gonna Live Forever should just be base kit for survivors. If you wanna be fair make BBQ's bonus points effect base as well and just let it be a hook aura reading perk. This grind NEEDS to change its way too much especially for all the newcomers that not only have to learn the game but get the perks they want on the characters they want. If this issue isn't talked about in the Anniversary I'm going to be extremely disappointed by the lack of care for general game health it's the most basic aspect of the game. You've addressed Rift grind now address blood web grind and when I say address I mean patch it not say we'll get to it someday.

We have no idea. Its being made worse with the next chapter release if they don't do anything before that point. If its 2 survivors 1 killer thats 6 new survivor perks. And 3 new killer ones.

well thats probaply going to be because one is harder to get rid off than the other.

if it has been confirmed to be an exploit, then it is going to get fixed eventually.

and i dont like how both of you imply that the "survivor exploit" never gets fixed but the "killer exploit" gets fixed immediately.

that sounds an awful lot like the common "us vs them" mentality that, sadly, is quite prominent here on this forum.

an exploit is an exploit, no matter which side it is from. if one is being fixed quickly, that is a good thing - and im going to be quite honest with you guys, stretched res has absolutely nothing to do with this discussion and i really dont see how its even remotely relevant here other than fueling this "us vs them" mentality and getting some unnecessary debates going.

sadly, the way both of your messages come across is like saying J-Flick should not have been patched out, because Stretched Res hasnt been patched out yet, which is just an objectively wrong way to look at it.

Nah just confused personally on whats taking stretched so long. And if you know a lot about stretched you know it isnt survivor only. Stretched is also used by huntress, blight, billy (shouldn't have nerfed his pov) and nurse players. And i guess really any killer who wants a better pov. So i didn't imply anything about it being survivor only. And my post was just acting what you said at the end of yours. Because i honestly doubt the devs will fix stretched since they've known about it for 2 years. And the rate bhvr honestly moves? Doubtful.

  • Surprised you come up with these weird comparisons but don't mention the 2 that are always compared. Stretch res and the j-flick were always considered the 2 exploits that need to be removed. Big surprise j-flicks gone but stretched has been around for 2 years. Id love to see peoples assumption for stretched being around for 2-4 years but j-flick lasts a few months. And not queen and almo did confirm stretched is a exploit.

It will help tremendously and also expose how horribly balanced the game is at high ranks. RN you get literal potato's survivor side in solo queue so you never get to see this unless you play with good swf players. The only people who don't want SBMM are streamers because they know people don't want to watch an extremely close game where everyone is playing at their best. They want to watch them loop a 20 hour killer for 20 attacks in a row, they want to watch a killer walking backwards the entire game kill all survivors at 5 gens. They want meme games that are memorable.

As an example let's talk about Dowsey(sorry for misspelling) dude was bragging so hard about his twins kills (x amount and no escapes). What happened the moment he played against similar skilled players and not literal whos? a 4 man escape.

To dowseys defense he got sniped by a tourney team that had been in his chat for like a hour? They knew his perks. Knew what exactly to bring to counter the twins. And its a fricken tourney team so itll be difficult. Dowsey was probably also just done and wanted to get the one game over and be done with it so i doubt he was playing at his best. If dowsey say fought them on even ground where neither of them knew they were facing eachother it mighta played differently. Probably wouldnt have 4kd its twins vs a tourney team but any kills would better than none. Now obviously if sbmm does work that 4k streak will not last very long. That won't be surprising. But just saying that wasnt a normal game.

  • @Steel_Eyed said:

Players do not feel the same way as you do about this just being a party game. I really like their rank reset ideas they put out (reset to R20 and bloodpoint rewards) but they need to loosen matchmaking on the SBMM because it is truly terrible how long the queues got for the ‘high MMR’ players.

Although sbmm by nature will be hell for the higher mmr players. Someone like dowsey otz or tru3 will face tourney teams more often as they have pretty much beaten off the other like 90% according to sbmm. I feel itll make matches fairly boring for the very skilled players. Obviously that doesnt impact the other 99% though.

  • As long as the devs take forever to patch stretched res i have no problems with a fov slider. Its a pc only advantage that actually shows itself pretty easily when a survivor can clearly see you over a loop.

  • Devs confirmed chapters are sometimes started a year in advance. So i doubt it can be re8. Im more leaning to the obvious mr.x or nemesis.

  • Pretty sure latency. Happens on huntress to.

  • Wait billys a killer? Havent seen that in months.

I disagree. You can do perfectly fine with Mikey using yellow and brown add ons or even no add ons at all. I have many times. Scott Jund said he went in and played with nothing but brown and yellow add ons and he had no problems. Of course Mikey has his bad maps. Every killer has their bad maps, even Nurse.

Yes but compare him to the likes of oni and ghostface. Oni can have everyone slugged in one use of his power. Has amazing map traversal. Has no limit on his power and Actually starts 115%. Ghostface can make his tr 0 on command. Do the same 99 expose as michael but better since theres no limit to his. Michael after you pop tier 3 and down that survivor every other survivor will try their hardest to make sure you only get that 1 down by prethrowing pallets and vaulting windows. Ghostface eliminates this by just 99ing the one Survivor and downing them so the other survivors have nothing to wait out. Even in stealth and cheeky guaranteed hits id take buffed wraith. Myers has nothing he himself only is good at. Ya pick him because hes michael ######### myers. HE IS POWERCREPT. By every sense of the word.

  • @Dwight_Fairfield said:

    Myers is not even a contender for worst killer. Coincidentally Scott Jund put out a comprehensive video yesterday explaining why Mikey is not even in the bottom five;

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q7wp7RrzRfw&list=FL-jXd-o0LVgs2RRTyXoFJQg&index=1&t=18s

To be fair myers is both map dependent and addon dependant. The classic tap 99 into instadown won't work on a area like autohaven since theyll see myers coming from a mile away. He still has the weakest of the instadown powers (as agreed kinda by scott). Still unnecessarily starts at 105%.Still has a finite amount of times he can even use his power at all. Myers has been powercrept to hell as the games got way better options for what hes good at. I agree with the consensus now hes not the WORST. But hes pretty fricken bad rn.

I don't really agree with this "rather boring undynamic playstyle" thing, because when you think about it, that's 80% of the killers.

I think the slowdown is good, but reducing the snares and pallets does basically nothing.

but I don't think they should rework him again. it would be an unending cycle of reworking the same character again and again forever because some people would always dislike the result no matter what.

also, when you rework a character like this, you basically delete the old character and replace him with a new one. and I don't think this should be something you do carelessly.

it worked for bubba, he still feels like the same character, but more powerful and fun. Freddy feels very different from his older self, (like devil may cry Dante and DMC Dante, for example) and that's not necessarily good or bad, but really should be avoided.

what freddy needs is an addon pass. give him stuff that changes his powers in more interesting ways. (and maybe one ultra-rare that reverts him back to old freddy. some people would like that).

Id personally love the iridescent idea. Black box now your completly invisible. But survivors don't passively fall asleep anymore you have to channel your arm to put them to sleep. Also hits on a awake survivor does nothing. Black box is useless rn anyway. Its been a while since a iridescent changed a characters entire playstyle.

I'll just point out that higher FOV gives me motion sickness. Some people get sick at higher FOV, some at lower. Higher FOV is clearly a gameplay advantage, so this remains a difficult issue.

I mean people can just stretch their res and get a better fov anyway on pc. So not like a fov slider would change much

  • Nice! Now all that leaves is one more very common exploit people use thats been around for 2 years.

  • @QwQw said:

A reminder, because I just had to delete a lot of comments from this thread - there's not one person responsible for changes in DbD, it's a team effort and whilst individuals do have input, the team as a whole makes the decisions. So whilst you are free to discuss the topic - playing the whole "blame game" isn't going to be welcome here.

I thought almo and mclean are in charge of any balance changes that come in. Almo even says it in a post a while back he was like half the balance team? Idrk how it works but just using what hes said.

  • @Laluzi said:

To my knowledge, they didn't, but you're penalized if you miss checks on the second phase, which can make people die faster. The last two are pretty small and I imagine newer players don't last as long on the hook as they did when all they had to do was mash a button.

Thats the only problem with the new skillcheck system for me. I have my off days and i missed one skillcheck as survivor was coming to get me and that was the difference between my life or my death. The skillchecks get pretty small lol. Probably still a improvement over breaking my keys but eh.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

It will never happen that all Killers will have similar Strength. Like, you cannot buff Trickster to a point that he can compete with Nurse and Spirit, unless you make him unbearable to go against. Sure, you can buff him that he needs two knives for one Health State, this would make him A or even S-Tier, but nobody would want to play against him.

Like, it is impossible that Killers get on the same Level like that one Killer which ignores Windows and Pallets (Nurse). Realistically, DBD can never be fully balanced.

Couldn't you go the opposite way though? Make nurse/spirit as weak as say trickster and balance the gens and survivors accordingly? (Aka no more god loops, infinites, god pallets, smaller maps so gens aren't going in like 3 minutes. Ect.

"And when everyones weak....noone will be"-said someone (probably)

  • Billy,a good michael myers, demo and a good nurse gets my respect.

noed is rare at red ranks. also, do you cleanse all 5 totems or just some totems and then try to remember the locations of the rest? i use detectives hunch and when the last gen gets done i check all of the totems that get highlighted. idk about you but id say thats a more efficient way of preventing noed

Really depends. Like i said i use is so i do save time in the long run with the shorter heal if i come by a totem (especially if the killer has sloppy or a killer that has nurses). But yeah i won't spend to much time looking and doing totems i do try to find their locations to come back to later. But if a killers not exerting much pressure ill obviously cleanse them all for IS heals. I really just adapt based around the matches speed. Also funny enough i used to use dh but for some reason id always have that one totem that wouldn't show on the aura reading.

Erm.....No...? I'm not sure what "aim dressing" even is..If you mean whiffing because of auto aim..Sure it happens sometimes. But doesn't end up being a factor one way or the other

Aim dressing...is the auto aim...thats what the devs call it. It moves your camera and weapon to make the hit look more "legitimate". Which survivors know to abuse by just zig-zaging or turning quickly to force the aim dressing to drag your camera and weapon into like trees or walls.

you know for sure that its highly unrealistic to expect all 5 totems to be cleansed. youre not even gonna make it to the end game if you play like that. thats like a minute of only cleansing totems and going for saves or doing generators. not to mention how long it takes to find all of the totems and get to them. small game isnt really meant to prevent noed, its there to get rid of mid game hexes. also 15 out of 20 games have noed? i have like 2 noeds in 15 games.

Idk its been fairly common for me maybe im unlucky but green to purple (because i que with my gf who is rank 11 and thats what we get despite me being rank 1) maybe people don't trust moving into purple without it? Also have you ever kinda heard of the strategy "totem remembering"? I just if the games going pretty fast try to memorize totems as i run by them (which with its new buffs is very direct) then come back and destroy them later. Also i run inner strength so the 12 second totem for a 8 second heal which ignores the likes of sloppy is pretty good. Also after playing so long i know most likely totem spawns anyway.

  • Im confused. You asking when, will, or how?

  • Dude...small game just got buffed...literally ive denied like 15 noeds in the past....20 games ive played? Funny enough knowing that you got all of the totems is very helpful. Once i see that counter go to 5 im like "that's a huge weight off my shoulder". So id suggest yad give it a try. And also the killers reaction to smacking you to realize noed never activated is halarious.

  • There was a bug report I think for it? And i played one game last night on it where no fences spawned lol. I didn't clip it though i didn't think to.

  • Im enjoying the no fences personally.

  • He's fine its just silent bell+all seeing blood is literally he will hit you at a good bit of situations. Hes basically scratched mirror but 115. But that's just me maybe that finds that combo pretty strong.

  • Someone didnt have their noed activate. (I know he said about the 10 second totem destroy but i feel this fits to) totem spawns are bs on some maps both ways.

They probably changed Hex Lullaby because it was inconsistent.

E.g it worked on Doctors snap out of it skill checks but doesn't on Pigs Jigsaw box skill checks.

Docs snap out of it doesn't kill you if you can't hit the skillchecks though? Doesnt jigsaw boxes hit with a penatly for each skillcheck.

  • @Hoodied said:

    What?

The old combo before this patch did NOT do 5% action debuff it was 8% + 4%, so basically a 12% debuff, mix that with the slow down build and in a game about time conservation and time usage, this is pretty big

I remember freddy before even that nerfed percentage. Old forever freddy was a #########. Thana, dying light and 2 other slowdown perks plus both chains. You might as well not even try.

  • Same but i just took it on the chin its a hex with a interesting synergy with doctors power. Lullaby can still be destroyed so i didn't see the need to remove its synergy with doc. After all then your dedicating probably 2 perks to making skillchecks harder. Unnerving and lullaby both of which are pretty garbage rn. Unnerving was only good for 1 meta because it soft countered ds.
