An under talked aspect of why Hillbilly is not played as much as his glory days.
We all know the reasons Overheat, garbage add-ons, and clunky animation. But I think we forget that there is know other killers who can deliver the effects of Hillbilliy's power. You want an instant down power that can curve around objects but with more ease just grab Bubba 2.0. You want an even more powerful version of what Hillbilly can do without worrying about hitboxes grab Oni. You want to zoom around with ease with a power that can be more damaging in loops. Grab Blight. And some other loose examples. I think this shows that even if some of Hillbilly's old aspects return and gets cleaned up would he really be played that much more with new competition he didn't need to worry about before.

Bubba is still slightly worse imo but miles easier to play so everyone just gravitates towards him
