yeah that's why spirit hasn't been nerfed! like, at all. except for one time where she lost her most bullshit add-on and collision in phase.

because the devs only listen to bad survivors!

    ...yeah

To be fair...old ruin? Old lullaby (thank you almo sorry you couldn't hit snap out of it skillchecks). Old billy kinda. Freddy in some ways since a good team would still dominate freddy. Theres a pretty big track record. Not all changes but a noteable few.

That is bad change. Because when you see obsession on your game, you know there is one DS user 90%. But now you will stop care about obsession. That will not stop tunnel, actually we can see more tunnel. Because obsession will not be scary anymore.

    Nice change lol

Its a psychological battle. You think theres no ds because theres a obsession every game. You tunnel a survivor off hook. Get ds'd. After that happens a few times and this becomes normalized i can see this being a good change.

  • @Mew said:

hes a lot harder to play than most killers, which is why not a lot of people play him. not to mention Oni is way stronger and easier to play

also im a firm believer that we dont see him anymore because most old billys just used crack billy and insta saw

Nah i never ran those 2. What killed him for me was pov nerf. Turning nerf. Stupid roar. His generally slugish feeling. The overheat. Ect. Also onis the one with instasaw now (scalped topknot anyone?)

  • Hmm the wiki doesn't say. Id have to test in customs. I had heard he was slower than survivors though. I mean its a easy thing to test get right up against a survivor and hold the saw and see if they start gaining distance

Edit: he is 100% mb. Still doesn't make much of a difference around some loops since he doesn't gain ground unlike the likes of bubba.

He’d be around the same where he is now. Overheat is unnoticeable to a lot of players

It ruins his chase potential slightly. The devs said he had no real drawback just holding his saw around loops. Was becoming 92% not a big drawback? So weird.

  • @Phasmamain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2160910#Comment_2160910

Tbf oni’s release already hurt the billy player base a lot prior to his rework. Plus a lot of people just used instasaw and crack billy and left once they removed that.

They did over do it though

Most people i think agree with onis release and other killers becoming stronger if they just addon passed billy the meta woulda shifted away from billy anyway. So i don't know personally where billy would lie rn if he didn't have overheat. Also every billy loop in the devs own words "felt fair and engaging like the most skillful would win" weird they say about how fair he is and murder him.

    His perks are good.

Eduring is good with spirit fury, and is good against survivors who try to do that "tech" where they stun the killer and then vault the pallet.

Lightborn is great at countering flashlights.

Tinkerer is a good information perk, I sometimes use it with pop or ruin.

I love when aq survivor does the dumb tech just for you to grab them by the neck like "sup?"

  • Yeah the stridor ones weird. The survelliance one has interesting synergy with survelliance i could hear the gen done from so far away. Footsteps is interesting thats never been a thing before.

unfortunately this is not possible due to licensing issues. its honestly depressing that the dude doesnt even have the right to his own face

They talked about this in a q and a the actor cannot use the look of the character they display or its copyright infrigment. So the laurie strode actor cant put on her laurie strode outfit or hairstyle. (Which idk how tf that works). She also cannot use her laurie strode voice (if its not her original). So unless the actor got permission to pose as quentin from the license holder this is not possible.

I never, ever use her add-ons. Ever. I have no drive or reason to. And I very rarely lose even as a mediocre Nurse. I actually find her to be quite boring and repetitive. The only thing that gives me trouble is indoor maps, but map offerrings are so rare that I get bored trying to practice my indoor Nurse gameplay because of all the boring regular nap gameplay.

In short, Nurse doesn't need add-ons. Just practice. And once you have that practice she's extremely dull.

Honestly i find her more fun then spirit. Step 1: equip stridor. Step 2: Smack a survivor. Step 3: go into phase. Profit. Nurse rewards for muscle memory and forethought not just taking all the power from the survivors. And she's way more punishing if your not good at either of those.

  • Nah worst addonless is myers. Addons are actually what carries him tier wise. Without the green to charge your stalk faster it takes like 15 seconds of stalk to get out of tier 1. He's the embodiment of a m1 killer meaning the easiest to loop. He has to walk his ass everywhere so no map pressure. His stealth lacks in where ghostface excels as myers has to go up his modes. And tier 1 itself is just bad design. Nurse is actually the best addon and perkless as if your very skilled with her you can beat a meta team with nothing.

  • For me its a team thatll do nothing but gens. They won't heal. They won't save. They'll loop and hold w to waste as much time as possible. And big surprise when survivors aren't doing anything else but gens. They go by very quick.

Yay, Scott is becoming a Forum Killer.

i mean he definitely got overnerfed no matter how you approach it whether it was slight or major. The general consensus is he's pretty bad right now and useless compared to the other choices. All he needed was really a addon pass. Every person ive talked to said it was a overnerf including content creators.

You named perks not counters. Do I need perks to counter a billy or an oni?

He went back on his twins statement in a video and admitted to being wrong. They are only good through proxy camping and slugging.

How long are going to be holding a shred for realistically to a point where the movement speed makes a difference?

Mk going back on your scratch marks. Standing still. Crouching. Slow vaulting. Anything that doesn't make much noise helps me.

  • @Phasmamain said:

Even then rat liver while nice wasn’t even that good. As Scott jund pointed out the movement speed only comes into effect when you are able to shred making its use minor

Scott also said twins are horrible characters. Watch dowsey play with them. He also said spirit has no counterplay while shes got ample. One case in point being spinechill and another being lithe. Rat liver is good because not losing distance in general is huge.

  • Damn ya got me even though ive been in the forums for 2.5 years lol.

  • @Phasmamain said:

    Demo didn’t get a nerf

Spirit is unlikely to get a nerf since they already nerfed her. It wasn’t enough but the devs are one and done when it comes to balance changes a lot of the time

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2155467#Comment_2155467

I mean, you said it yourself. Myers is a tall boy who can't hide. He's not sneaking up on anyone, you can see him a mile off unless you're in Lerys or Gideon, so Spine Chill isn't giving the survivors any kind of edge there.

GF actually has a stealth mechanic that Spine Chill can undermine.

Well myers you can do cheeky stuff like hide partially behind trees and behind cover that hides all but like your head. So its fairly annoying when ya get a cheeky angle for them all to scatter for no foreseeable reason until you see spinechill at the end.

  • @Seraphor said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2155454#Comment_2155454

I'd say it hurts GF more than Myers.

Myers can stalk any of the four survivors to get them all exposed.

GF has to expose each survivor in turn.

The chances of all four survivors having Spine Chill is astronomically low. But GF may encounter the odd one who does and is therefore rendered unable to expose that survivor easily.

Eh maybe?Ghostface doesn't start 105 though he's 115% He can also expose much easier mid chase without losing to much distance. And He can go into his power on command and isnt a 7'1 tall boy just standing there. Myers is suffering a lot lol.

  • Oh shoot a hag! What'd you do to my billy boi?!

  • @OniWantsYourMacaroni said:

If Spine Chill won't work against Undetectable anymore then it will be straight up useless.

    It's fine in my opinion

They could just revert what they changed a while ago. Myers used to be the only one immune to spinechill. It made him fairly special and he gets hurt by it the most. Other stealth killers (besides maybe ghostface) don't have their power rendered mostly useless by 1 perk. Its just another nail in myers coffin personally.

  • @Seraphor said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2155433#Comment_2155433

Like I said, it's too situational.

The number of times you've encounter Spine Chill as Myers or Ghostface probably compare to how often you're actually able to stalk without being seen anyway, which is pretty low.

You corner your prey so that they can't break LoS, because survivors can see everything in third person.

Ah yes corner them on a decent map with lots of los blockers as a 105% killer. Genius. Also idk spinechills fairly common at red ranks from what ive seen and played.

  • @Seraphor said:

No, Spine Chill doesn't need a nerf.

It's too situational as it is, and only serves as a crutch perk outside of stealth killers, reinforcing bad habits. It's not a very strong perk overall, and isn't too different to using Iron Will as an anti-Spirit perk.

it does heavily hurt killers that are forced to activate it though not just spirit (Myers and ghostface especially)

  • @Bwsted said:

If they disconnect due to map offerings, that's not a swf thing. I've seen it done during solo q by survivors an killers alike.

If you mean once the match is loaded, then a DC is to late to cancel the trial.

Really? Ive had games where im entering chase like a minute into the match and someone dcs and the game cancels.

  • Nah. Idk if id be breaking rules by explaining it. Don't worry about it. The less that know about it and other exploits that shall not be named...the better.

  • I mean im all for it in stuff like kyf since it really needs more options and they said theyd work on kyf eventually. But not in the real game.

  • @Chordyceps said:

Honestly, my least favorite thing about Hilbilly also applies to Cannibal. So many of his addons give you an up side and a down side, unlike most killers where the addons just give you buffs. Since I'm not great with Hilbilly, I don't particularly want to take a hit to my stun time, steering or charge time, so I feel like I'm mostly restricted to brown and some yellow rarity addons.

Honestly i feel bubbas downside addons arent even that punishing. The worst ones for him were the engravings but with a good bubba even thats not much of a downside.

    https://youtu.be/stfxjkjO4eY

meanwhile one engraving on billy and you basically overheat after 2 saws. Bubba don't really care.

  • Buff 90% isnt going through. And again its for 10 seconds you can still run lucky break/ironwill for a longer more consistent effect not relying on stunning the killer with dstrike.

  • @Crowman said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2151759#Comment_2151759

If a killer wants to keep chasing you after you got unhooked, no amount of perks or teammates body blocking is going to stop him. This isn't a perk issue.

DS is fine. Killers who want you out of the game will do so regardless.

Personally i like the idea of making it partially impossible for the killer to tunnel through the ds stun. Like for 10 seconds after the stun you leave nothing (grunts of pain, blood trail, scratch marks). So once the killer takes it that survivors gone. Prevents true tunnelers and doesn't effect the people who just tank ds to prevent it at the endgame.

  • Stretched res? (4 years vs a few months) although there is the rare nurse or hillbilly that uses it i guess. (Hillbilly honestly makes sense since his pov sucks rn)

    44. Final question do you believe the game is heading in the right direction if so how can they keep it up? And if not how can they fix it?

    44. Oh i missed this message thats my bad. Personally i think the games very unbalanced the idea is amazing but solos need a lot of improvement and more killers need to be viable at the very best imo. A lot of bad decisions on the devs parts (putting a totem counter on a small game perk are you serious?). But i don't see solos being brought up to swf level and killers rebalanced to compensate anytime soon thered need to be a major rebalance. And seeing the iri head rework took 2 years im not expecting anything. But considering the game has a steady stream of players they gotta be doing something right.

It was a honor to be interviewed and i look forward to seeing others interviews! This is a fun experience! Thanks for the opportunity!

  • Hit and run. Wraiths very good at splitting pressure but has difficulty in chase at very good loops. I personally run discordance and try to keep as many people injured as possible. Then come back and hit em when their outpositioned or on a gen injured. Short loops though remember wraith gets a insane speedboost out of cloak so use that to run around loops and get some cheeky hits. Im personally working on wraith myself but thats just what I've learned.

  • @Seraphor said:

"Head-on is a perk with zero counterplay."

This is blatantly false. You need to play both roles dude, and if you're going to complain about a certain perk, use it yourself first.

I was almost going to agree with this, and in principle it does make a ton of sense. But I can also imagine how clunky the camera transition would be, and when you're in a chase or something, that kind of disorientation is going to be horrendous.

To be fair i think they did something to how long the hitbox lasts and how big it is. It hits me even when im not even close to the locker or beside it and last game i played i baited it out and ran forward to pull them out of the locker and still got stunned anyway. Definitely not uncounterable but it wasnt always like that.

  • @BioX said:

Enjoy? Also you care way too much

To be fair this is the only game where the killer can play very well and "mostly win" but the games forced into a draw because 2 survivors escape through hatch. Even in normal circumstances if i want the 4k this is the first game i know that just straight up gives the other team still a chance to win unless ya slug for the 4th. The hatch seems like a weird mechanic for a multiplayer game.

I never cared about Add Ons to be honest. I used Hillbilly without Add Ons since forever, and I am not starting to use Add Ons now. I tried Engravings and the brown Overheat Add-On, but the extra Chargetime messes me up all the time, but other than that, I dont use Add Ons. So I did not notice the Add On-Nerf at all.

The thing is tho, Charge Time and Cooldown-Add Ons were pretty problematic on Billy, and they had to find an replacement. He has quite an easy power, there is not much they can give him without making the Add Ons too good. Which results in a lot of "fun" Add Ons.

Yes but replacing a green charge time addon with one that increases rate of cooling when flashlighted? Really? Also the undetectable ones aren't even that great against a semi decent team. They could have made a lot better decisions lol. Some others are fine (the engravings are dead though)

  • @DoritoHead said:

If Otz said it, it must be true!

it honestly is though. Hillbillys overheat is so punishing. His addons are mostly hot garbage. And theres just other better options for what hes good at.

  • Legion as everyones said with the franks mixtape rework it should just be a instadown on the 4th person

Myers:needs brutal basekit. Tier 1 could just be a mode you can go in and out of freely to play kinda like gf. Give him back his multistalk.

The DBD team really isn't that big man, out of those 600 employees not many work on it.

To be fair though don't the devs say bhvr lets them work at their own pace? They say they love bhvr does it but it makes things take so long that shouldn't. I think thats why the devs arent transparent is they have no real reason to explain why stuff takes so long.

The only thing which annoys me with Iri Heads is that the Nerf is really lazy. This could have been done a few years ago, they knew before that this Add On was a problem. I mean, I dont mind, the Add On can be completely butchered, but it was a lazy Nerf.

    @Topic:

When I think about Add Ons, I think about Pig and Myers.

Pig-->Changing outdated Add Ons like Tampered Timer, it is 2021, no need to have an Add On like this which basically only awards cheap RNG-Kills (combined with the purple Crate or the purple Sketch, it is impossible for a Survivor to do all the Boxes when disturbed only a little bit). That is the biggest one IMO.

Then they should rework the Add Ons which give Mangled and Exhaustion, because they only promote to tunnel people with a Trap. Hemorrhage might fall into the same category, however, I think giving it to her at Base would be neat, since the Survivor has a Trap attached to their Jaw, obviously they are bleeding.

Also outdated Add Ons like the ones which give more Skill Checks or make the penalty bigger should be reworked. They dont have any synergy anymore (Lullaby/Unnerving were patched years ago to not work with Jigsaw Boxes), so no reason to keep the Add Ons, which make it easier for experienced Survivors to get the Traps off (because of the increased Skill Checks), but harder for newer Survivors (because of the bigger penalty).

When it comes to replacements, I would like to have more Add Ons to promote her Stealth and Dash, because her Traps are not her only Power. They could also add stuff which increases Movement Speed while crouched, Ghostface has it, so no reason why Pig should not have it.

    Myers:

Tombstone Piece and unlimited Evil need to go. People are saying it is hard to get to Tier 3, but it really isnt, especially when using the Memorial. They are simply outdated Add Ons.

Also, many of his Add Ons dont really see use, stuff like increased Movement Speed while stalking is not really useful, you just go from super-slow to less super-slow. The god awful Vanity Mirror also needs changes, it is a horrible Add On, there is no point in using it over Scratched Mirror (you only get 2% more Movement Speed and a bigger lunge, but have a smaller Aura Read, a Terror Radius and have to tier up first... Not worth using).

In general, I hope they give Myers some love, he is the prime example of a powercreeped Killer, when I started playing, Myers was ranked as low A-Tier all the time, now he barely makes mid C-Tier.

I think the thing people fear with myers is theyll fix his problematic addons that actually make him a menace and actually make him very good. But they won't change his basekit at all leaving him as a literally d tier killer since the bs addons are the only thing that really carry him. (Otz addressed this in his tierlist as well that myers is the definition of addon dependant)

I don’t know about that. Clown, doctor and bubba got some great add ons to choose from

Freddy got a iri that blocks the exit gates for sleeping survivors for 10 seconds after it opens... hillbilly got a green that cools down the saw faster while your flashlighted... they really need to go back to those two and reevaluate some of their decisions lol.

  • @Vyne456 said:

He has his own game. It's called Friday The 13th The Game. Maybe they could add him, but the people who made Friday The 13th said that they might not have Jason for right now on dead by daylight since the Friday The 13th is having a full on argument.

Resident evil had its own dbd esc game? Doesn't mean they can't crossover. The rights thing obviously is a problem though.

  • Geez this threads age.

  • Technically they do get less depending on how the match went. If the survivors lost every chase and couldn't do gens the little bit the hatch gives is not helpful compared to the boldness and objective points you could have gotten. At the very endgame if you hatch escape you do get more but thats just a reward for trying to find the hatch instead of escaping through the gates. The middleground isnt that big of a deal since sure its alittle more points but they still escaped.

  • People say you fear ds everytime theres a obsession. Dead hard does this even moreso since you have to respect a survivor whos injured to attempt to bait it out. If they do have it they just use it and make it to a pallet. If they didn't you still wasted some time respecting deadhards very existance. I find myself after injuring a survivor waiting behind them for 3 seconds everytime to bait it out. And if i still get unlucky and they hit it the same time i swing and it actually goes through well ######### me then. I find it in pretty much every game in red anyway so its not like its rare.

  • @Squirrel_Thicc said:

First of all, that's not a swf issue. Second swf can never be "addressed" because if they ever do something to nerf swf this game will die.

I mean they could actually buff solos to swf level mostly (without throwing the info on perks!)and buff killers accordingly so swf isnt some godly advantage anymore? But i mean thats a good idea probably never gonna happen.

My point was about the Legion issue being 2 years ago and therefore not comparable - who knows if now the issue would have been bannable or not, impossible to say.

We are not banning for the bug with Breakdown, it's an acknowledged bug that will be fixed. It will be fixed because that's not what the perk is designed to do, nothing to do with slugging etc. And I'm definitely not painting it as a non-issue, I am very well aware of how serious our players take this particular issue.

As other people in this thread have mentioned, we also didn't ban for the bug with Tinkerer or Sloppy Butcher a while back either.

Yet didnt nurses get banned with no warning with the spasmodic breathe exploit? There was a warning it was bannable in the "known exploits" on the forum but obviously not everyone plays on the forum. Imagine a nurse using the addon for the first time unbeknownst of the glitch and they get banned with no warning? Doesn't seem very fair. The rules of exploits is weird all im sayin.

Specific exploits that we will ban for until they are resolved:

    • Bloodweb Progress/Prestige Exploit
    • 2+ Killer Exploits
    • Spasmodic Breath Nurse speed exploit
