Considering the amount of issues this game currently has I don't think this is likely to be top priority.

Different departments. The person that designed that horrible diaper will never smash a bug.
This! Wish more people understood there are differences in the types of development.
  • Happened only like twice ever for me. and sometimes if i don't tap fast enough.i

We have a SWF of 20 or more and everyone has been having trouble lately.
    How often do you play?

People have been offering legitimate balance ideas and completely biased balance ideas since day 1 of this games release. The developers over at BHVR clearly want this game to go as THEY intend and do not want to create a true horror game but rather a casual game of tag with knives.

Nothing has changed that hasn't been revert near instantly, nothing has improved that hasn't been mucked up in some way and nothing will make this game what people had truly hoped it could be. I'm not saying everyone has to jump on my train of thought here but it certainly saves you trouble when you learn you will have no affect on the community so long as the Devs are in the mindset of "we decide whats best".

For Honor is a great example of the road DBD is going down. Slow to improve anything, quick to revert changes, hype DLC that offers no community suggested changes and a dwindling amount of hope to see the game at the potential it could have reached. DBD won't "die" but it won't remain a huge success should another game come along that follows the asymmetrical horror theme properly.

I like to view DBD as PUBG vs Fortnite. We are simply waiting for that "Fortnite" comparison to take root in this genre to challenge DBD (PUBG)'s claim to the throne.

PS: I don't enjoy Fortnite but the analogy works all the same.

    EDITED TO CORRECT GRAMMAR

What game have you been playing?... I don't want to write a novel.. so easy to pick at everything you talk about in your post.

What I get from it is. You aren't happy with some of the changes they've done, because they want to make a game that goes with the vision they have created. Too bad.

I wonder if everyone gets scared, like they are the first time, after watching the same horror movie ten times.

Every game will "die" at some point. Nothing lasts forever. Their goal is to make it last as long as they can. You can't expect them to implement everyone's ideas, just cause you may like them. You can't also expect them to try things, find out they don't work, then change them back. Seems very obtuse of you to think so.

Your comment about another game taking over, is like saying the sun will come up tomorrow. Eventually it will.

    This ❤️👍
  • I wish you could spin the character too.

You can rotate them... Are you on PS4? All you have to do is point @ them then hit X and move your joy stick... Idk how it works on PC.
  • Omg YES PLEASE! I like putting outfits together but there's no way to preview them together 😞 once you move to pants the shirt is gone vice versa.

Is it possible that someone can explain how ping is affected in dbd? It appears that OP is having issues with only dbd ping being high.

    Translation:

  • Since we got Bill and leatherface as solo characters I'm posting a killer concept for a solo dlc to go with a Halloween theme. I'll also post some cosmetic ideas towards the end, a few for survivors and a few for killers.
    Killer: The trickster
    Power: Trick or Treat
The Trickster has his bucket of candy that is full of tricks and treats. When activated he can choose between a random trick to perform in a survivor (slower movement speed, blindness, mangled ect.) or a treat to give to himself (faster movement speed, less stun time, harder to blind ect.) Power has a cooldown of 15 seconds
Appearance: He wears a tattered skeleton costume with a pumpkin mask that has sharp teeth to eat candy with. In his left hand he holds his candy bucket and in his right hand he holds a cracked lollipop shaped weapon that is deadlier than it looks.
Blood wipe animation: He takes a look at his lollipop and gives it a lick savoring the taste of blood.
    Perks:
This is Halloween: You are obsessed with one survivor. Everytime you hit the obsession gain a token. Max of 2/4/6 tokens. At 2 tokens lower gen repair speed by 4%, at 4 tokens lower gen repair speed by 8%, at 6 tokens lower gen repair speed by 16%
Only tricks: You enjoy tricking your prey, once activated you can place a trick on a generator, chest, hook, pallet, or window that will knock back the survivor stunning them for 1 second. Has a cooldown of 30/25/20 seconds. You can have up to 2/3/4 tricks placed at once
All Hallows Eve: You dont want this night to end, once all generators are powered the gates and hatch cannot be interacted with for 60/75/90 seconds.
Lore: Jack Shivers always loved Halloween. It was his favorite holiday ever since he was a boy. Every year he would go trick or treating and now that he was older he was the one giving the treats. He was in college and every year Halloween became more difficult to celebrate due to his studies in chemistry and many different sciences. His life was decent as he had a good home, good friends and was never really in any problems. One Halloween once Jack was finished giving out candy he went to his living room and decided to watch TV for a while. He was watching some Horror movies on the movie channel and was enjoying his night eating the leftover candy. Then there were breaking news, it was said that a psychopath escaped from a prison nearby and that all people should be cautious and lock their doors that night. Jack was home alone as his friend that lived with him was away at a party. So there he was sitting in the dark with a bucket if candy in his hands. He locked all the doors and made sure the windows were shut and he went to bed. That night however right when he got to his room upstairs he heard a knock on the door. He assumed it was another trick or greater that was out later than usual and decided to answer the door in costume and all. But once he opened the door he saw no one, he stepped out and looked around but there was no one to be seen so he went back inside. When he came back he saw the TV was turned on with the movie Halloween playing on screen. He was confused as to why it was on but as he got closer he saw that someone was sitting on his couch. He asked if it was his roommate but he received no response. Then suddenly the figure got up and walked into the light revealing that it was the psychopath that escaped. Jack ran upstairs while the man simply followed him slowly grabbing a knife from the kitchen before going up. Jack ran upstairs trying to find his shotgun that he kept in his closet, he heard the footsteps getting closer and closer. Then the door burst open as the man charged a Jack stabbing him over and over tearing into his flesh and ripping  his costume. Jack couldn't reach the shotgun but he should reach his bucket of candy. He grabbed it bit into a hard lollipop and stabbed his aggressor in the neck. Jack got up wounded and reached for his gun, he grabbed it and loaded the shells but the man shoved him out of his room, down the stairs and into the living room. He tried to get his gun but the man ran downstairs and continued to stab him over and over again. Then Jack heard a voice talk to him, it sounded ancient and powerful yet soothing at the same time. Then with sudden brutal strength he got up grabbed his gun and shot his aggressor in the head. Jack then succumbed to his wounds and bled out on the floor. The next day the police arrived to the house after Jack's roommate called them. They found the body of the intruder but Jack was missing. All they found from him was his shotgun.
    Cosmetics:
The trickster: Green, orange, blue, and red colors for his default skeleton suit.(Uncommon)
The Pumpkin- The head of a lit up pumpkin with a scarecrows body and a small metal arrow.
    Survivors
    Dwight- Zombie
    Meg- Bride of Frankenstein
    Cluadette- Ninja
    Jake- Dr. Frankenstine
    Nea- Demon
    Ace- Vampire
    Feng- Bunny
    David- Sexy Cop ;-)
    Kate- Banshee or Siren
    Adam- Teddy Bear
    Killers
    Trapper- Frankenstein's monster
    Wraith-Voodoo man
    Hillbilly- Mummy
Nurse-Spectre (itll be different because she'll glow blue and  old be see through)
    Hag- Swamp monster
    Doctor- Plague Doctor
    Huntress- Werewolf
Clown- Creepier Clown (Black and white costume, red makeup ect.)
Spirit- Oni (An oni mask with a black dress with a sword that has ancient carvings on it)
Well I think that's it I'd like some feedback on the killer design and would like opinions on some balancing too!!!
P.S sorry if it's too long

But I am curious, what would you like to see in a DbD Halloween event?

I would like to see a few QoL buffs for Michael, like him being able to stalk multiple survivors like during his release and a few cosmetics for Michael would be very nice.

If they came out new cosmetics that fit the new Halloween movie, I think that would blow people away...

The perk doesn't function as one would think, I'm pretty sure a pebble shouldn't phase through a wall and have a notification so easily discernable that only a new killer would fall for.

I haven't seen it used as a killer before so was just asking...
I have used it really successfully to get hatch many times though....

  • INTORDUCTION:
Autodidact is a very cool premise for a perk and I love it. I feel that more perks should have a push and pull effect to it. What I mean is, you start by being penalized and slowly start to buff your self up as the match goes on. With autodidact, you start with a -25% on healing progression and it removes the ability to hit great skillchecks. The up side for this perk is that you gain an extra 15% for everytime you hit a healing skillcheck. These are measured in tokens as you can have 3/4/5 tokens depending on what tier of the perk you have. So if you have all 5 tokens, every healing skillcheck is +50% automatically to the healing bar which is amazing. However, the issue is that is usually never happens.

    EXPERIMENT AND RESULTS
I ran some experiments within trials to see on average you get this many tokens. As a control group, I used 20 matches, each time I had tier 3 Autodidact, here are the results in order; 2t, 3t, 3t, 2t, 1t, 0t, 2t, 3t, 4t, 3t, 2t, 2t, 2t, 1t, 1t, 0t, 2t, 3t, 2t, 1t. On average, I had about 2 tokens (1.95 to be exact) per match. This is dissapointing as that means I was NEGATIVELY impacted on average everytime I brought this perk. Once you hit 3 tokens, you begin to see some of the upsides, but that requires you to be healing other survivors and getting more skillchecks. The other downside to this is RNG, this whole perk RELEIS on RNG. Wether or not you get a skillcheck is completely RNG, in some matches I fully healed 2 survivors with the mangled status and never triggered a skillcheck, meaning, no benefit. But when I did get a skillcheck, it only negatively impacted the survivor I was healing and never got a benefit. On average, every match you bring autodidact, you are hurting your team. I should also mention im rank 1, so matches go by quickly, meaning, this slow burn perk is almost completely useless. Not to mention, using We'll Make It can heal faster than a t3 Autodidact perk with 5 tokens can.

    HOW I WOULD CHANGE IT
As it is, autodidact is almost completely useless. With the recent nerf it receieved from the PTB, it's hard to say why anyone would use the perk. While it's concept is interesting (as stated earlier) the flaws are hard to ignore. In response to this issue, I would suggest these main changes. 1. Allow skillchecks to appear while healing other survivors with a med kit. Trust me, this wont break the game and make this perk "op", it's simply to allow med kits with needle addons to increase the chances of presenting a skillcheck while also increasing the rate you heal survivors by slightly. 2. Increase the rate at which skillchecks appear. The RNG is too much to handle with this perk, it can make or break your experience with this perk. To combat this, simply up the rates at which you are given skillchecks to help push survivors out of the penalization area of their tokens As long as survivors get 4-5 tokens, the perk becomes worth it. 3. Give it a point bonus towards Altruism. If you want survivors to use a perk that will hinder them before rewarding them, give them a little insentive. Blood Point bonuses dont affect the trial itself, but help motivate survivors to bring this perk. And finally, 4. Allow survivors to gain tokens from self care, give them the healing progression penalty, and dont give them benefits. If you allow tokens to be obtained off of yourself, you are able to gain more tokens while using this perk while not providing benefits to yourself. Since the whole premise of this perk is to learn overtime, using yourself as practice isn't a bad idea. You can provide yourself with tokens so that you may use your new found skill on other survivors.

    CONCLUSION
As much as I like autodidact, it kind of sucks. With these chanegs I suggested, it could become one of the greatest altruism perks without being considered as unfair to fight against. I'd like to hear any complaints or discussions anyone can provide, im always open to discussing the perk!

It was a perk I think meant for the altruistic Claudette types...
  • What exactly do you want fixed?
  • Random question. If the killer stands in the exact place of the pallet where the survivor can't pull down the pallet, is that done by design?

(Waiting for the "salty noob survivor main" comments...I played 200 hours of Billy for this #########...)

It's an exploit on would think? But, we are talking pallets soooo idk. Great question!

The game is intended to be balanced around 4 perk slots. Introducing more for both sides would break it, given how powerful the Survivor perks are.

Did u not read what I suggested? It would make it better for everyone. And it's not like just the survivors would have extra perk slots.

Here's a list of the survivors perks in 3 categories... initially thought I'd make just 2 but some of them are questionable.
If by any chance they make extra perk slots. They could easily have the perks made into 2 categories and make it so u can use just 2 of those super powerful perks at most.
Imma try to make a Killer one as well just to see how they balance each other.

WHAT? How is Lithe, DH, SC, BL, IW and Sabo categorized as crutch perks? Is running a crutch perk too?

Lol dude I laughed so hard! Excellent point 👍 I think they will soon expect us to start with broken legs! 🤭😂🤣

Problem with reports is, that people report stupid things when they lose.
Yesterday I was reported for wallhacking.
I don't think we are talking about that kind of issue.

Reporting a bug or tech issue has nothing to do with winning or losing the game. A user would have to actually do more than just click a button. These tickets require the user to expend a bit more energy... It's a good deterent especially given it requires one to actually read or look up something.

But who am I kidding we know some peeps will do just about anything when they're determined or salty 🤷‍♀️
  • So you know how the hag has her trap where her decoy just pops up....What if survivors had a perk that was similar to that? If you PC players have ever played Dead Realm or watched vanoss and his crew play it, you kind of understand what I'm thinking of. Like all of a sudden you're running you hit the perk and the killer swings, but ends up swinging at the decoy instead of you. Idk just a late night thought.
Wouldn't that be the dead hard?

    Killer info

    • name: Irena Ludos
    • gender: Female
    • ethnicity: European
    • realm:
    • power: Siren's Song
    • weapon: Coral Blade
    • speed: 110%
    • terror radius: 32 M
    • heart beat range: 8/12 M

    Killer ability: Siren's Song
    - effect: Survivors in your terror radius hear your song, begin to slowly lose their will to resist. Applies "Hypnosis" on survivors that slowly reduces action speed (healing, repairs, sabotage, and vaulting), and movement speed. Hypnosis is gained so long as you remain in the song's reach, it is gained like "Madness", after 45 seconds within the radius you gain Hypnosis 1. Hypnosis 1 reduces movement speed by 15%, and action speed by 25%. After another 45 seconds, you enter Hypnosis 2, which reduces survivors movement speed by another 15%, and action speed by 25%. Singing stops while in the chase, however the survivor being chased can still hear it, and take up the effects. You can "snap out of hypnosis" by yourself while under the effect of Hypnosis 2, however to escape Hypnosis 1 a survivor who isn't affected must make a "snap out of it" on you, if everyone is under hypnosis 1, nobody can leave this state.

    Personal Perks

    • Call-Out:
    • Survivors within your terror radius have a 25/50/75% chance to reveal themselves on a good skill check

    -Trickster:
    - Kicking a generator regresses it by 5/10/15%, and on the failed, or good skill checks generator regresses by 10/20/30%, great skill checks do nothing. Kicking pallets weakens them instead of destroying them, survivors who vault the weakened pallets breaks them, and takes one state of damage.

    -Hex: Glimmer
    - Gain an obsession, obsessions are visible 24/36/48 meters away from the killer, however the obsession can also see the killer within 12/24/36 meters. Killing your obsession grants permanent haste, destroying the totem removes this effect.

    Origin:
"The mythical siren is a tale as old as sailing, beautiful women in the waves calling for the crew to join them. All men who obliged met the truth in a watery grave. She may not be a true siren, or what we're told in history class is completely wrong. No matter what, don't listen to her singing if you want to live, she wants you to come to her, as does the fog."

"Irena was the wife of a Greek noble who's name has been lost to time, she was young, and naïve for marrying a man who cared little for her. Over the years of her marriage she became desperate to bear a child with her neglectful husband who spent his time away on trade, and other excursions. She pleaded to him for it, year after year until she was starting to grey, and waning on fertility. With one more chance she begged for her husband to consummate, but denied one again she took to the temple, and begged. The next night a man came to her in the dark, and offered her a gift. Eat his heart, and bear his child.
"The offer was absurd, but her desperation reached its limit, and how could her dream ever be dashed now? She accepted as she was handed a silvered dagger, and told to strike. In a blinding rush she struck him down, and began carving out his heart, determined to get what she wanted, and failed to get for so long to get. The warmth of the beating heart glowed in her palm as she stared in it with worry, and doubt however the temptation grew too much as she began to consume it. The man's body vanished into a swarm of ravens as she finished consuming the heart, a smile on her face she ran back to her home to clean off the blood she had tracked.
"Months later she bore a daughter, and her hunger grew soon after. A month after her daughter's birth, she consumed another heart, she was blessed. Consumption of a life gave back in a child, a curse? No a gift, the shadowy man gave her a gift, and she needed to consume. Years went by, several children were born, several men died. However, the hunger couldn't be satisfied, and in a moment of desperation she struck her husband down. Before she could finish consuming his heart, one of the servants walked in, and started screaming in terror. Within moments the guards had entered, quickly grabbing, and restraining her. Dragging her out of the palace, and towards the docks, she cried, and screamed for her children but the roar of the ocean deafened her cries. The crimson soaked blade was torn from her hands, and shoved into her chest, and then thrown into the waves.
"This was not the end, her dark hunger had grown to strong for death to take her, and then something strange dragged her from the murky depths. A shadow, whispering for her to use her voice to lure humans to her dinner table. She sang, and drew all the men of the water to her, with one thing on her mind, their hearts. Years went by as crews disappeared throughout the sea, eventually something new called back to her song, and offered a new sea to hunt. She smiled, and swam to this new sea, standing on a new land shrouded in a blackened fog."

    Alternative Perks:
    -Blood in the Water
    - Injuring survivors cause exhaustion after 15/10/5 seconds, and lasts for 10/20/30 seconds, injured survivors outside of 36/24/12 meters are visible periodically

    • Echoing Waves
    • Terror radius is increased by 15/30/50%, and increases chance to cause skill checks

    Add-ons:
    -TBD
    need:

    • improved heart beat, reduced effect
    • increased effect, reduced heart beat
    • specialty effects on hypnosis
    • rare addon to make hypnosis more potent but can only go up one tier
    • iridescent addon for fun
    • misc.

I would be interested in everyone who got this far's critique of this killer concept. I've put a fair amount in time, talking around with a variety of my friends who main either killer or survivor. I've gotten some response there than she could be over powered, but also that she could fix the problems this game has. I dont know, I want to hear what the community thinks. Thanks for reading.

cooldown is fine, just dont use her full duration at once.

and what if im in a chase. cooldown is not fine at all. so im not supposed to use it then? she is addon dependent she will only be a noob stomper.

you just need time to learn her playstyle, plus i just 4k'd with her at rank 3 so clearly she isnt a noob stomper

Played quite a few matches with her in my SWF group and Solo. If played like Billy her map pressure is unbelievable! 👌👍❤️

As a survivor it is super challenging if she's played this way. Chases end quickly so stealth is key and personally I love it. I'm more of a stealth player though...

25% would be my guess at least that's how it looks to me but with distressing + coulrophobia 3 then mangled is a nightmare to deal with.

When they nerf healing speed I suspect folks will just run No Mither it'll have some benefit but then killers will just run Thanataphobia. Thanataphobia + ruin will at least make the matches either super long or 4k's will be common.
