  • Learn when to abandon chases.

Don't be afraid to let generators around good locations (for survivors) get fixed.

    The occasional slugging.

I tend to down the saved and go hunt the savior, if I am around the hook.

  • Her add-ons are too dated and needs a rework but otherwise she's fine.

As for how to buff the Clown:

    • the reload is a dumb, unfun mechanic. Either cut the time it takes drastically or give it a positive effect. Quick idea: Reloading creates gas clouds at your location that linger for less than the bottle gas clouds (bottle throwing should be the main way to create gas clouds). This way reloading could be used offensively in a chase or to detect survivors that are hiding very close by
    • faster throw animation
    • gas lingers longer

@Madjura Let me just tell you that your suggestion of improving his reload to have a gameplay impact, its brilliant.

My own suggestions for improving the Clown's gas would be to add a small 5-10 second exhaustion debuff to it which would require survivors to "take a breather" (aka stop running) for a short moment. And probably add another second to the gas' duration.

  • Playing survivor is like having a nice summer vacation. It's chill and relaxing.

  • @NuclearBurrito said:

@brokedownpalace probably should elaborate on that.

While any given survivor will have a 50% chance of being solo. There are also 4 survivors any of which could be in a duo or trio even if one of the survivors is solo.

Thus in theory the odds of 4 solo's is 0.5^4

However once we have established 3 solo's the 4th is guaranteed to be solo making the above calculation inaccurate.

    Thus 0.5^3

And that works out to 0.125

    1-0.125 = 0.875

    0.875*100 = 87.5%

    @NuclearBurrito I love math.

  • Its because it caters to the survivor-side of Dead by Daylight. The majority. If they're having fun with the game, there's higher revenue being generated via the Store to Behavior. A happy player is a happy customer.

  • What a shocker! You only face killers that are good in the red ranks?!

If only the less viable killers were to be buffed up to the same level of viability.

  • @Orion said:

First we need to see these kill rates separated by rank and get confirmation that they do not count DCs as kills, don't include trials where one or more survivors don't load in, and don't include farming rounds. Then this information might be relevant.

@Orion His killrate would probably be higher if they counted DCs as kills. At least it feels that way..

  • @Peanits said:

Game length is the time from the start of the match to the time where the match ends. Not generators powered or gates opened, absolute start to absolute finish. As in everyone's out of the match and looking at the tally screen.

@Peanits An even more interesting statistics to show us would be how long the average time is until the 5th generator pops.

  • @Orion said:

@se05239 Me neither. Toxic behavior is the main reason I stay away from multiplayer games. People are #########.

@Orion DbD is the only pvp game I play. The rest is singleplayer games and/or coop.

  • Unless you're a masochist that enjoys the suffering, not really.

  • @Orion said:

@se05239 That's why I no longer show any mercy to survivors and instead show it to killers. Someone has to do it.

@Orion Good that. Not showing mercy and being an royal ######### are two different things, thankfully. I'd never go out of my way to play toxic.

  • Please don't give Behavior more reasons to be greedier than they already are.

  • @Orion said:

For 3 years I was nice when there was a DC. Now I'm waiting for survivors to go easy on me when I'm having a bad trial as killer, which I have never seen happen to any killer in 3 years of playing this game. Until that happens, I will destroy them no matter what. No more double standards.

@Orion You should know by now, playing as the dedicated punching bag of the game, that killers don't deserve any sympathy. They're only there so survivors can have fun games.

  • I tend to avoid going for the saved one if I can avoid it when there's a DC but otherwise I'll just continue playing as usual.

I'm starting to get sick of this company giving us things and taking them away after they've emptied our wallets.

First they gut Freddy, then they gut Legion, now they're just completely changing cosmetics after everyone has bought them. I know it's an incredibly minor thing and it seems silly to get upset about but it's essentially theft at this point.

That's what's gonna happen when people blindly put their fate and money into a developer with a questionable track record and greedy business decisions.

  • You get punished for being too good in Dead by Daylight, @MystiKasT . Stop being too good.

  • Selling their game on Epic Store and let us play with whatever players end up buying it there wouldn't be too bad, to be honest. Especially if they continue selling DbD on Steam.

But doing like Rocket League and just disbanding steam altogether..? Doubt it.

  • @Orion said:

@se05239 What are tomorrow's lottery numbers?

    @Orion I am not a gambling man.

  • @Judith said:

I am actually scared they might turn this game into battle royale or something with battle passes and loot boxes.

@Judith That's the future the developers have for us.

  • @Tydie said:

you should have been around before they nerfed the bloodweb to hell, then added escape cakes and party streamers. you wouldnt be complaining.

@Tydie There's still plenty of improvements that can be done to alleviate the grind. Like a rework of the BP offerings (apart from the cakes and BPS) to make them actually worth using.

  • Dwight.

But the statistics are kinda biased.. I only play Dwight. Default Dwight, even.

  • Crossplay would be kinda nice nonetheless, thanks to the dwindling console player-base. Easier for them to get games, even if the games they'll get will be far more difficult.

  • Not to mention people DC'ing constantly from little things, like getting hit or downed.

  • Its an extremely good perk.

  • Punishing Lobby-dodging is so low in priority. It doesn't rob you of any bloodpoints, items or offerings.

The rampant DC epidemic though? Shouldn't that be the focus.

Also, you're not the only survivor in a lobby. The killer can dodge based upon the other survivors, not you.

  • It has been bugged since before the previous PTB.

We did tell them about it and it was.. ignored, as our feedback usually are.

  • The addition of a 5th slot would ######### up the balance so much more. Especially if the survivors get to enjoy that slot. It's already 16 vs 4 perks. Turning it into 20 vs 5 wouldn't help.

  • @Peanits said:

Those two things are apples and oranges. People on the dev team have different skill sets, they aren't all interchangeable. The artists that are making cosmetics cannot fix bugs, and the programmers can't make cosmetics. Likewise, making a cosmetic does not require programmers, so halting the creation of cosmetics wouldn't have an effect on bug fixes.

@Peanits Lay off some of the cosmetics people in order to hire some more developers? Eeeh? Eeeeeh?

  • If the killer is within 16m of the hooked person and NOT in a chase the hook time is doubled. So it forces the killer to move away from the hook and not camp it! And when the killer is in a chase the hook time is as normal.

That feeling when this exact thing has been tried out in a PTB and was EXPLOITED by survivors for easier games.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I'd feel more obligated to pay for cosmetics as well as invite my friends to the game if the game would actually function properly.

So unoptimized, so prone to crashing, infinite loading screens, level of detail bugs, clown bottles exploding immediately when thrown, entity blocker exploit, sound bugs, getting stuck in lockers, animations breaking all the time, certain effects breaking on certain detail settings, Huntress RMB bug...

Y'know. Just to name a few problems with the game that are legit broken and that's just balance issues aside.

@Sairek This is why I am constantly trashtalking the store, calling cosmetics "fodder" and calling people who get excited for new cosmetics "cattle".

The game's in shambles and currently (and since a long while back) it has been a game I'd NEVER recommend to anyone. I rather see Behavior lay off some cosmetics people and get their hands on more developers or QA personnel so they can fix their game.

Them, without a care in the world, adding even more cosmetics (that's also so ######### overpriced its ridiculous) to the store.. it gives me a bad taste in my mouth.

  • @NoShinyPony said:

Keep in mind that we not only need numbers in total. The majority of players are survivors, so if the majority welcomes killer nerfs, that doesn't necessarily mean these things would be good things for the game.

Not every survivor player is aware of the killers' problems.

@NoShinyPony That'd require the devs to split up the survey results based upon the first few questions in the survey, where they asked what your "most played" and "prefers to play" roles are. I'd personally not say no to that.

@not_Queen This'd be interesting to know about as well, if there's any huge difference between the two sides.

  • @not_Queen said:

I like the idea. Let me ask around.

@not_Queen Awesome. It'd be a victory for your community interaction activities, as it'd be a two-way interaction.

  • @shinymon said:

Disappointed that there was no question or tick box related to the ever-growing blood point grind, especially with more characters getting released.

@shinymon One of the easiest way to reduce the grind is to rework the BP offerings to actually become useful. I've made a thread with suggestions for a rework.

When have the devs ever been greedy? They are a business, you know?

@T0xicTyler Definitely. But there are games out there that monetize their game BETTER than DbD's developers do. Like Warframe. Everything in their store can be unlocked via gameplay and not too extreme of a grind, either.

GREED made sure that Behavior locked high value skins behind Auric cells.

GREED made sure that Behavior locked the cosmetics available to us "for free" behind a grindwall that requires WEEKS of contast gameplay in order to get passed.. at least the cosmetics that aren't color swaps.

So yes, Behavior is a business and that seek to make money but they're walking in the shoes of companies like EA and Activision instead of trying to become a shining example within the gaming industry when it comes to monetization.

  • Grammar's important, I guess.

  • No. I'll never farm. Even when I spawn in with a single survivor. I rather just hook them and move on.

  • @not_Queen said:

It's a feedback survey and a poll of opinions, we want to learn more about our Community's interests.

In this case, the ''purchasable pass'' is a system that is already present in many games, the question is: is DBD Community interested in something like that? That's all there is to it.

@not_Queen I really, REALLY, hope that you'll show the community the final results of all the various questions.. since you're now so.. interested.. in our opinions in regard to ######### like battle passes.

Even companies like Activision-Blizzard and Ubisoft shows the result of their community surveys.

  • Battle Passes don't ######### belong in a paid game.

  • I genuinely believe that the only thing the devs were interested in, is how many are interested in the addition of a Battle Pass.

  • The battle pass question genuinely scared me. A foreshadowing of the greed filled future that awaits us?

  • DC rates for survivors/killers on each platforms.

  • @Peanits Just a general observation but why have Vote Down taken the spot where Vote Up used to be? Shouldn't it just replace Awesome's spot instead?

  • It feels like "nerf nurse" threads never get old. There's like a few of them every day.

  • @LordziPL said:

    I want that 1st May :c

I want connection with Community and Dev = D

So it's time to upgrade Activities Roadmap = D

@LordziPL Roadmaps are complete bullshit, though. Seen how effective the roadmaps were for Anthem? It's just typical modern gaming industry tactics. A shield to hide behind.

  • Sprit, Huntress and Hillbilly. Nurse will never be balanced but she's certainly not OP.

  • A passive but short Exhaustion debuff should be part of the base gas. Like, 5 seconds. Just enough to force survivors to slow down for a few moments if they want to use their exhaustion abilities. Increasing the base slow duration from 2 seconds to 3-4 would also be awesome.

The Clown's biggest issue will always be his extremely weak map pressure. If he could win chases faster, he'd alleviate the problem slightly.

  • Or we could buff the BP offerings so they're more worth using in addition to BBQ and WGLF?

Made a thread with suggestions for BP offering rework, ways back. https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/46827/a-rework-of-bloodpoint-offerings

  • He's basically a trap-less Trapper now, more or less.

  • Clumsy - Gain an increased chance to trigger skill-checks at the cost of having good skill-check zones reduced in size.

I Can Do Better - Whenever you fail a skill-check, gain a few seconds of increased repair/healing/action speed.

(not sure what to name this one lol) - Gain reduced / greatly reduced / immunity to several status effects at the cost of being permanently Exhausted. This perk trumps Adrenaline.
