I thought the increased luck thing was proved to be pretty much meaningless (heck, I think the people that tested it actually got more from a prestige 0 Killer than a prestige 3 one).
At least from my own experience, when I prestige I get better perks and add-ons.

Asking this here.
Console (PS4)
Stellar good WiFi
All the matches I played for the past 3 hours were super smooth as always, then out of literally nowhere this happens.
Haven’t ever been invisibly hit, while fully healed, into the dying state.
PH didn’t have NOED or any way of causing the exposed status effect.
What is the actual legitimate explanation for this ever happening?
He's cheating probably.
Getting that hit can actually happen, if the killer has a really slow connection.
But the instadown, it's impossible because you weren't exposed.
-
I just do it because I get the bloody cosmetics. I love gore stuff so.
Also, when you prestige your luck in the bloodweb is increased.
Even tho, I think prestiging it's useless and makes no sense. Losing all your progress 3 times is not fun at all.

That's fair as long as I get bp for solo!
Fair enough.

That's a popular opinion buddy.
The only purpose is getting the blood cosmetics, that's all.
Why would I want my progress to be reset 3 times?

4 man optimal swf is really strong and needs balance changes. Sometimes swf can be unfair/unfun to killers. Now that I've said that let's talk about it. I have seen some players who jsut talk so negatively about swf and hate on it. How about we remove swf since its basically the devil. It's the evil that lingers over this game basically. All jokes aside I get swf can be unfair but it really isnt all swfs so stop hating on it. Stay hydrated that's my 2 cents.
Even tho I usually don't enjoy versing SWF, I think the problem is that we are not rewarded by facing off SWF.
Imagine, if we got for example, a BP boost whenever we are facing SWF, I wouldn't mind AT ALL versing SWF.

This idea of winning is a bit flawed. Certain killers get more points far easier because the emblem system supports their power while others do not. You can get 31k points as wraith, legion, and doctor and still get brutal killer as well as only 1k. Then you can get 3k/4k with trapper, plague, billy, myers, and leatherface and only get 15k-20k points due to the nature of their power.
Because of how flawed the emblem/scoring system is, I consider a 3k/4k a win, a 2k a draw, and 3/4scape a loss.
Coming back to your post, if there's no pressure on the other survivors to unhook/heal/get off gens, then their obvious goal is to hold m1 on gens and progress the game. YOU can make it more fun for survivors by downing them faster and forcing chases to happen with all survivors. For me, stealthy survivors are by far the easiest group to 4k against because they stealth b/c they can't loop so chases end much faster.
Well, I never got a game where I knew that my performance was poor, and I got a merciless killer. Just saying.

I don't think they're bad, just dumb things to do in terms of pipping and getting more BP
^ This.
DbD is a game where you win actually by scoring, not by killing or escaping.
I could start doing 4 man slug, but that's just boring and hurts my score.
Some people really want to hurt their score by gen rushing and leaving.

I play myers, I do not have anything you mentioned besides pop
Playing as killer is a bit discouraging until you have all the perks unlocked tbh, or at least the main ones.
If you just have pop, actually that's a decent start.
To pressure gens without having all the slow down perks:
- Try to not commit to extremely long chases. If you find that the survivor you are chasing is a god at looping, you better drop the chase.
- Give priority when protecting gens, to the ones in the center of the map. If you do so, they'll end up in a situation with very close gens, and it'll be easy to patrol.
- If you find the typical cocky survivor clicking flashlight, literally, ignore them. They are just attention seekers and good loopers, so if you ignore them, they usually try to follow you = they lose time at doing gens.
- Sometimes, it applies good pressure to have 1 hooked and 1 downed more than 2 hooked. Idk how to explain this, it's just something that I feel in game when I'm playing. The time to unhook is shorter than the time to heal. So if you have 2 hooked your pressure can easily be gone.
I can't remember now more tips for you in order to apply pressure, I hope this gives you an idea. Of course, this tips can be applied also if you are using a full slow down build.

You might have forgotten that tokens reset. I mean, we gotta play with the idea but it doesn’t seem too promising to mix it up with any token related Hex totems.
Well I mean, if we are talking about devour hope, obviously it's a bad idea mixing with undying.
But hex perks that don't rely on tokens, like for example retribution, NOED...etc, could be worth it.
-
You pretty much need perks to slow down the speeds.
Corrupt, pop, surge....etc.
You also can slow down the game by pressuring gens perfectly without perks, but you know, sometimes it's hard if survivors actually have a brain.
I think freddy had add-ons to slow down the speeds If I'm not mistaken tho.
-
Hex builds are not consistent at all, because totem spawn locations are awful.
I suggest you wait until the blight comes out, unlock "Hex: Undying", and then, those builds will be consistent.
-
Legion.
One of my fav killers, obviously I'm going to get better results with him.

game like this happen to me I mean I got some hooks at the start and mid game but by egc they were all alive and kicking but right as the last gen popped I got someone on the hook they 99% the gate I camped like anyone would but I had noed and the totem was right behind the hooked survivor so they couldn't get it out but try to save him anyways.
long story short I traded hooks with everyone the hook I was using was next to the basement how it turn out I got 2k or 3k if DC counts as a kill but I slugged everyone but it was dead dawg saloon and I lost the 4th survivor who got hatch by crawling to it.
so just because the last gen done doesn't mean survivor won and the games over.
Exactly, when you just have 1 person to kill in the EGC you naturally camp it.
To try to ensure the kill (even tho without NOED can be impossible to do), and to make them angry of course.

Actually if you want to play spirit, you have to change your play style, because she is a killer different to all the killer roster.
Maybe they want to play spirit, as I want to play legion, doctor, or whatever...because they like the killer.

Yeah I see that. It's... it doesn't even make sense.
Killer mains baffle me, because any time I read the forums or watch one stream it feels like they just want survivors to run in circles so they can kill them without effort. Doing gens? TOXIC. Looping well? TOXIC. Perks like DH, DS, or Unbreakable? TOXIC. "Bad survivors rely on perks to reset their mistakes" or whatever.
Seems like killers just want to press M1 and move on...
I could quote what I said to explain my point but I just won't do it intentionally. This is already fun.

If that's your take on Blight then I think you should wait until he comes out and play him some more. The only similarity they have is they can move faster than most killers, and blight moves at hillbilly speed by default. The biggest difference is Blight has an actual power.
If you like blight in game I think you don't know what's something original and creative and what's not tbh.
-
@BabyDweetMain said:
You want to talk about entitlement but then criticise survivors for doing their objective. Their main objective isn't to walk you around the map like a dog, it's to do gens and nail those skill checks. If you were a decent killer, survivors wouldn't just be doing gens. They'd be in chases, unhooking, healing, doing totems, etc. If you are getting games where all survivors are doing is pressing m1, that's because of you, not them.
Also who are you to criticize someone on what they chose to do with their money? If they have fun holding m1 and it's worth it to them then stop being a judgemental jerk.

It's what clown said.
And it's a sociopsychological phenomenon:
We are literally taught in most western societies that we must always succeed (at first try), always be in the center of attention etc, and that even the slightest slipup equals complete failure. and who fails (even if they have no experience with something) is worthless and thus better of dead.
That's why people turn virtually everything into a competition.
Even games like Animal Crossing aren't safe. Get all the items asap, get the highest rating etc.
We are forbidding ourselves from 'just playing a game for fun' (or in general doing anything for fun).
And with DbD it's exactly those people who will then cry havoc on here or twitter etc when someone suggests a new mode, be it a new game mode or a more casual mode, or adding more objectives... hell, they'll pop a vein when someone suggests to shake up the existing skill system to make it more complex but enable better matchmaking.
because they want to succeed, not to actually learn and gain skill and play to their best skill.
I play to improve, and I think ranking up or down doesn't matter. Just scoring matters, because it "shows" if you did wrong or well.
But well, not everybody is strong enough to leave their small pp builds to try new perks and addons.
For exameple, few hours ago I've hit red ranks for the first time. And survivors just click M1 and escape, with 0 interaction with the killer.
Well, then if that's all about red rank survivors, I don't want to be in a rank for small brains.
Clicking M1 all day in gens doesn't show any skill, at all.
-
It isn't toxic.
It's just another perk, which actually is really bad.
The only ones who whine about this perk are gen rushers, that's all.
-
@Todgeweiht said:
Well, if you dont chase me I will just repair gens, what else am I supposed to do?

Really? Because I used to play Legion a lot and they carried me to rank 1 with 0 skill and 1-2 kills a trial. I didn't even know how to mindgame or that slugging was a thing that you need to do.
The thing with legion is that for example, is one of the best characters to get hit and chase points.
That's helps for farming bloodpoints and for emblems.
But I mean, regardless of the killer you are using, if you play poorly you get a safety pip or depip that's it. I never had a game where I knew I performed poorly, and I got a brutal killer or less.
-
@Kilmeran said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1590391#Comment_1590391
Exactly what I do.
I remember when I was starting as Killer and learning those mind games as I ranked up the first time. I would go after the t-bagging or clicky-clicky survivor every time. And I would be looped to hell and back as their buddies popped the gens.
I learned to let 'em stew. Go after the ones they don't want you going after, there's a reason for it. And almost like clockwork, as you're chasing that weaker link, there they are trying to body-block or flashlight you or whatever to get your attention so you don't down that other one.
That's two not working on gens. I am pleased.
Exactly buddy, I know you see my points very clearly.
When we started playing killer, I think that everybody did that mistake. Chasing cocky survivors, and letting others do gens.
But if you chase the ones that are bad at looping it's so huge because you are getting them nervous, making more mistakes...etc.
There are some people who just know how to be sneaky and click M1. If you get them, they are usually free downs.
-
@MadLordJack said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1590356#Comment_1590356
There actually isn't a win condition. That's a big problem with DBD. The Devs used to push pips, but even they basically admitted that they don't really matter. Not to mention the fact that Legion pips up for playing poorly with 0 skill, and Plague pips down for an amazing, mind-blowing 4k.
I play legion a lot, and If you play like trash, you are lucky if you get a brutal killer.
The thing with plague is that if you overextend on making people unable to heal, you are actually losing hit points, which count a lot for emblems.
My aim as killer is always getting the best performance/scoring as possible. Usually, if I get a brutal killer or entity displeased, I played poorly.

The few times I played survivor, I actually had 0 fun doing gens. It's boring and it feels like wasting my time. Even If I know that's wrong, I just forget about gens and get into chases.
That's one of the reasons why I never play survivor. You are "obliged" to repair, and I don't like to do so.

You're not alone, although I'm the survivor in this scenario. When I get tunneled or camped in a game I don't tend to get mad and complain like certain others. I take being the center of attention as a compliment. Ie if the Killer is focusing on me and only me it must be because I'm a threat.
Actually, it's the other way around.
As killer, if you focus too much on survivors who are a threat, you are just going to lose. You'll waste time looping, and you'll lose gen pressure. That just depicts that the killer doesn't know when you drop a chase.
I always try to chase the weaker survivors first, because they will go down easily, and I'll gain more pressure.
Also, usually if I ignore cocky survivors who are gods at looping, they'll try to get my attention even more, hence, losing gen time. Which is only good for me.
-
@MadLordJack said:
Its just how humans are programmed. Success in an endeavour gives a larger dopamine hit than pretty much anything else for a significant portion of the population. You cannot fault someone for wanting to win, although the ones that then go on and on about how they beat you is extremely tiresome.
It's like people that cheat at poker, even when there's no gambling involved. Oh, wow, you marked the cards so you know what everyone's holding - Impressive victory.
Well......if they want to "win" they are not getting it that way.
DbD is not a game where you win escaping or killing.
You win by having a decent score, or reaching the top score you could get.
Winning means getting 1 or 2 pips. If you got a double pip, you really played nice.
Just by doing gens and escaping they are actually not winning. A lot of survivors still don't realize this point.
-
@Mtom912 said:
Because you physically can't win without doing gens
You didn't get my point I think.
I'm talking about those kinds of survivors that thing DbD is a speedrun game.
They click M1 the whole game, the hide the whole game, and just that.
That just proves they are awful survivors tbh.
I've had games where real good survivors, didn't need to gen rush to actually win because they were gods at looping.
When I get games like this I'm just dissapointed at that type of people, because that shows no skill.
-
@TheClownIsKing said:
They want their ego trip despite how flawed the chase time vs repair time ratio is.
You nailed it.
Usually people who do this are extremely entitled from my own experience.
In the scenario where these type of survivors actually die, they become extremely toxic.
It's always the same pattern.
-
"If you go down in 10 seconds to a killer, 9/10 times it's not a fluke. It was your fault, not the 'overpowered' or killer's"
^ This
The whole point of the game is that survivors have the advantage at vision and looping, and killers at map control.
Survivors are stronger when looping than killers, obviously.

I have been playing with my red rank buddy, since I'm rank 20, though I have some progress on survivors.
I have played around 20 games and I was using detective's hunch in all of them. I got thrown in all kinds of easy and difficult maps and I have barely escaped in only 5/20 (although my teammates' survival rate was about 75%).
I have faced mostly Spirits, Chainsaw killers and Slingers with Pheads these games, although I sometimes faced other killers. Like 4 of them were using ebony mori.
However.
In 13/20 of those games, I have personally found and cleansed all dull totems.
In 15/20 of these games killer was using either noed or any other Hex perk.
In 7/20 of those games I got killed faster I was able to get much from hunch, but even so I could get rid from at least 2-3 totems and I purposely cleansed the hardest ones to find.
I also did at least 1 gen and distracted killer for at least 30-40 seconds in every single of these 20 games.
We did all gens in 15/20 games and killer was able to get any value from noed (at least 1 healthy down) in only 1 game.
I didn't even know totems' locations on most maps, but thanks to detective's hunch I had little problems finding and cleansing them. I did a gen, saw nearest totems, cleansed 1-2 totems and moved on to the next gen and so on.
Me, rank 20 survivor, who has less than 200 hours survivor experience, who was playing against rank 1 killers, was able to deal with noed successfully in 95% of games, while being basically a burden for my team because I wasn't even as half as efficient in chases or distraction as other survivors.

This is a common one that I see a lot, specially with SWFs.
Never get cocky playing survivor and group up. That's usually game over for survivors, even if you think that you are "destroying the killer".
