Thanks for the post, now I have a new build and strategy to try.
-
Weak perk to me, survivors can just run to another tile, and usually most tiles have more than 1 window.

Survivors spend more on cosmetics and are a huge majority of players. Killer players are a minority and don’t spend a lot of money due to the first person look. So less killers due to the problems you listed, means less money for the company, means the company just listens to survivors more cause they spend more. It’s a vicious cycle.
Never saw it this way, but makes a hell lot of sense.

Very hard to hear sometimes tho
Yeah, only if the ambient is quiet you can hear them. When there is some sort of sound, they are almost impossible to notice.

Didn't take that into account, but depending on the surface you can hear footsteps better or worse.

I'm a kpop stan. But I've been into DBD before Trickster was ever around and Pyramid Head is still my top babe.
I like Trickster, not because he's a kpop idol, but because he's a crazy murderous human and not just another 'monster'. Also he is fun to play (other than the fact that he sucks). But maybe that's just cause I like range? Huntress was my main before Pyramid Head was added.
I just hope you didn't buy the chapter with real money
-
Hilarious to see that this fan made chapter is much more interesting than the All Kill one.

15 matches pay to win Freddy. 60 dead survs without camping or tunneling. I expect more difficult games in red ranks, but Freddy is op as hell. Ah, and only 9 DS
God luck doing the same with mid tier killers.

I went from playing Spirit and Deathslinger and Ghostface every game a year or so ago to pretty much exclusively playing Clown, Doctor and Blight. Blights really the only high tier I remotely enjoy playing.
I don't care how busted Spirit may be, but she's boring af.

I knew you'd come because I mentioned Wraith hehe 👊

@VexTheHex said:
They're all pretty simple to play and don't take much thought. Nothing wrong with that though, I do enjoy Wraith even if he is one of the easiest to play Killers... if not the easiest.
I don't like them because they are simple, actually I literally every game I play I prefer challenges rather than easy stuff.
I love them because their gameplay is actually fun, compared to other killers like Hillbilly, whose gameplay I find the most boring of all.
-
Certainly not Trickster.

ohhhhh, I thought it meant that they would lose control until you decide to leave, my dumb self thought it was unlimited.
Can't be unlimited because then survivors would be no counter play as some people told me in my other thread.
Maybe to end their power the'd have to interact in some similar way to Victor, or you'll just have a timer until your power ends and goes on cooldown, something similar to myers.

I don't think it would be a good base power, but it'd be a cool idea for a power-altering ultra rare
I'll look into it.
I don't think it would be a good base power
Why is that so? With each power use you don't have to move and you mind control 1 of them, preventing them from moving or doing whatever they want to do for a certain time.
On top of that, that survivor would be possessed and gain damaging abilities, so if 2 people are on a gen you can basically mind control 1 of them, and then down the other if you are able to.
Rinse and repeat etc.

oh god, making survivors have to suffer?
I love it.
Suffer a lot, yep.
Actually my idea basically was to mind control 1 survivor at a time, that's your power, and gain new damaging abilities while you are possessing that survivor.
Basically, the survivor would attack their own teammates.
If you have played HOTS my idea is kind of similar to what Abathur does, but in an offensive way.
I can't write everything here but if you want detailed information about my idea yeah, check my profile and look for that post is from days ago.

Just wanted to pop this out.
The twisted
A disguising killer, using his power, one of them, to disguise as survivors in the trial and to confuse them. The Twisted has 3 teachable perks: Sick and Tired, Hex: Obsession's Honor, and Endangered Experience.
Dunno if it'll work but hey, atleast it's something to keep me occupied.
Why didn't Legion become the disguise killer?!?!? NotGoobyNugget.
I made a post about a similar idea but instead of disguising as survivors, mind controlling one of them, and that's your power.
Why? Because a disguise would be easily noticeable to a SWF.
You could take ideas from the post I created tho.

I've always enjoyed every new killer that comes out and looking at the Trickster and its ability makes me want to play it more, but there's no reason to, its too weak and i know i'm gonna get wrecked by survivors. One or two escapes i can take, but when i get rushed and everyone escapes is when my confidence is shaken
I wish Trickster would get some kind of buff to help the odds while playing it.
Everybody in the community thinks the same as you, don't worry.

They should make a perk where if you are able to unhook yourself you have a 15-second endurance effect. It would help against camping killers.
Would be helpful, but at the same time would only work in very tight situations.
Experienced killers know how to time BT and down you.

Are you aware that you can heal while in a chase? If you juke the killer, and he is searching for you, yes, he tunnels you, yet you could use the time to partially heal.
But lets say you are right with this points. Then i still have some questions and possibly tweekss:
Why should the perk has a limitet time frame? The argument to deactivate it is you progress the game. Why deactivate it while you are being tunneled just because the killer needs some time to down you again?
Limited uses: If it is to hinder tunneling, why does it only work ones? Should it not work every time you are unhooked until you do something to progress the game?
Some people suggested in this post and others that they do think this change is healthy and goes in the right direction, but DS needs to activate twice in order to really discourage tunnelling.
That's I think a change I'd accept as main killer, since It wouldn't affect my gameplay unless I do tunnel, and the perk would deactivate anyways if the game progresses.
Still, even if I'd accept it, I'm not so sure if this change would be 100% healthy. There could be end-game scenarios where the possibility of getting hit twice by DS would be extremely oppressive to a killer that usually never tunnels.
This is a possibility, and actually would have the contrary effect: The killer would be forced to tunnel in order to use up their DS "tokens".
Hence, I think the current state of DS is the healthiest possible, but time will tell us if we are wrong or not.
-
@MrPenguin said:
Before:
Killer: "I got DS'd and I didn't tunnel."
Survivors: "No you must have if you got hit with DS, don't tunnel and no problem."
Now:
Survivor: "I got tunneled"
Killer: "Run DS then, it still hits them if they tunnel and it's still strong."
Survivor: "No, it got nerfed didn't you hear, it must be useless now. DS never helped with tunneling anyway."
I don't understand. I guess they really wanted to keep that DS abuse going? DS is still strong if they tunnel and still acts as a tunnel deterrent. But none of that matters if no one is using it.
My dude is spitting right facts here.

It CAN'T be 12 minutes, survivors die on upon their third hook state. It's actually 8 minutes, but even then, don't expect survivors to stay invincible for that long because they have to make progress or else 8 minutes will give the killer too much time if they decide to NOT tunnel. 😅
True, 8 minutes, my bad.

Being healed by OTHERS doesn't deactivate DS, it should be fixed ASAP!
It should also include killer specific powers:
DS should deactiavte if:
- You disarm a trap
- You use your flashlight (to destroy hag trap)
- Cleanse yourself from the Plague
- Search a Jigsaw box
- etc.
That's true tho! They didn't take into account other actions that progress the game but are due to killer powers...

This 100000000000%.
You can be tunneled twice, from both hook stages, so how is it good a preventing tunneling when it only works for half of it? Should activate every time you get unhooked.
It's good to prevent tunneling since wasting you time to down 1 person, hook them, get DSed, down them, and hook them again, it's way too much.
In that process minimum 2-3 gens have popped. If that happens you basically lost.
Not to mention that if the survivor is good a looping he might waste your time even more.
Nowadays if you decide to tunnel 1 survivor until he's dead from the start of the game, 3 survivors are gonna escape. 4 might escape if this survivor was good at looping.
With the current state of DS is more than enough to discourage tunneling.
If you ever want to rank up, you certainly won't do so by tunneling.
-
I can tell you a secret... Pipping or depipping isn't directly related to kills, but emblems.
You could have gotten 2k because they suicided on hook, but that doesn't mean your performance was good.
The emblem system rewards performance, not kills.
That's why there are 2 ways of "winning" in this game: Kills or Emblems.
Personally, I'm more of a tru3 player so my play style is going for hooks and iridescent emblems... Ruthless-merciless killer is a win to me.
You could get a 4k but having a ######### performance, that's why for me, aiming for performance is the most realistic thing to do.
-
I have a tip for you: Make their salt and hate your food.

@SilentPill said:
Why do people care is the real question?
Personally I think it’s funny when someone gets so mad they spew salt on my steam profile. Especially since many games I have the chat off so they get that pissed by in game actions alone.
Actually getting salt is so fun to me, that my whole profile is built into baiting them to comment and tilting people as much as possible.
For now, I have 10 pages of comments.

It's actually insane honestly.
2+ DS was pretty much the standard before.
But now that the perk got nerfed you're lucky enough to even see a single person running it.
Games with no Obsession are much more common now.It also looks like tunneling increased a bit because of that.
That's the thing, People think that people now tunnel more since the DS nerf but that's not quite true.
Tunneling has increased since now nobody uses the perk.
If people kept using it, people would still refrain from tunneling.
-
That's the problem, Trickster doesn't have an identity.
-
Pretty sure the only Tricksters you'll see are either trying the new killer, or getting the Adept.

I deranked to rank 6 and still can't do anything. Survivors there already weak enough to destroy them with any other killer, but as trickster I barely hook them. They doing gens bit slower and runing around without trying to juke, but I still can't make it in time. Even if I see my skill going up with knives. Often I can land precise first shot further than 25 meters, but it's sucks it's just 1/8 of 1 health state damage.
Trickster show no threat to survivors. After getting adept i'l get back to Huntress for mental rehabilitation.
The next time I play, I'm going with nurse to rehabilitate my mind.
-
I'm more concerned about survivors spawning right next to gens.

You say that as if anything in this game takes skill.
There's a huge difference between newbies and experienced players.
This fact means that indeed skill is needed to improve.

@DoritoHead said:
Yeah I really don't know where people get the whole "DS is useless" thing from. Maybe it's because they relied on a perk to win rather than skill, but idk.
Yeah I really don't know where people get the whole "DS is useless" thing from.
Because it gave them a full minute god shield, and they started using this perk offensively instead of deffensively.
When they started doing this, specially SWFs, games were pretty much unwinnable.

I agree with the nerf, it removes the loopholes survivors can use to progress the game while being invincible. Now, survivors are only invincible when they aren't progressing the game and are being tunneled.
However, with that said, I wished DS could be buffed to activate on every hook, regardless if you already used it previously. 😅
12 invincibility minutes is way too much, doesn't matter if you are progressing the game or not.

The hitboxes are messed up, but I'm enjoying not respecting pallets anymore until they fix it :D

It was very unhealthy when the end game collapse didn’t exist. Survivors could extend the game for 10 to 20 minutes or even sometimes to 40 minutes long.
I certainly remember 30 min games, those were so painful.

Remember the times when we didn't have EGC and games were infinite?
-
Depends.
If I'm trying to get an adept achievement or trying to play for full performance and hooks, I curse them.
Most of the time, I couldn't care less of whether they suicide or not, It's not my problem.
In fact, they are giving me easy pressure, I thank them.

Why would the top players play ranked, only to face the awful toxic high level opponents they're constantly complaining about, when they can face random opponents such as newbies that they can stomp all over?
Top players are the minority of the community, so it wouldn't affect queue times in the slightest.

Nobody would play ranked though. And then we'd just go back to what we currently have, because our current matchmaking system is so lose it may as well not exist. And the current system is not fun, because lesser skills players get pitted against players with tons of experience.
Why nobody would play ranked? They do in other games.

When a Survivor DC's I see it as their choice and don't blame them for it, I common slug strategy I use is trick all Survivors to use their Unbreakables, down all 4 and match up the bleed out bars perfectly by lifting a survivor and dropping them since it pauses the bleed out. If you do it correctly hatch will never open and I can go make a sandwich or something.
