You mean you don't have people narrowing down what platform your playing on, logging into a smurf just to send you salt and death threats?
Ehh what?
I get less salt because they can't write, it's obvious.

I've tried running silly builds, I get stomped every time, and then harassed for being a bad killer and using crap perks. So I dont any more, I run what's necessary to fix the crap balance in the game.
That's the vicious cicle I'm talking about.

Hmm I always see variety until I see swf which is kinda pathetic. But surv perks are useless for helping you win. And with the gameplay styles lots of killers do and are sometimes forced to you cant really blame people for running them. And nah I have been switching build I used to run DS BT and we'll make it and sprint burst. I agree it gets boring I want something fun so that's why I change thing up ya know. But don't derank because you dont want to go against strong perks, it makes it seem like you can't handle it and I'm also not judging so dont take offense.
I could handle it, but I just don't want.
Because as I said, it's boring.
And I don't play this game to get bored.

My build I like rn is sprint burst, DS Adrenaline and Hope. Not really meta and it has the old meta perks but even when I dont run these my looping skills stay the same and so does my choices. So I to say that people using meta perks carries them is kinda wrong. I can play perkless and stay red rank and ik you don't mean everyone and all but using the same build isn't always a crutch sometimes it's just their fav build. I ran DH, DS, and vault speed build but not only do people complain about those perks it makes my looping reliant on perks so I try amd avoid things that actively change my chases.
I doubt it's the fav build of every red rank survivor I see.
"sprint burst, DS Adrenaline and Hope"
If you don't use hope and use BT, that's meta. Because that's the copy pasted build I've seen over and over. So boring, but anyways, I'm deranking intentionally to see less copy pasted games.

I've been playing for a decent bit. I've dealt with Tunneling and Camping before, but nothing that bad.
As I said, that's basement bubba.
It's a solid strategy using specific perks, that only works if the teammates of the hooked survivor are dumb enough to go there.
-
Maybe you are new to the game but that's called basement bubba my friend.
You can't ban a player for camping/tunneling, because that's a strategy of the game.

I run perks I enjoy. If they happen to be meta or not idc. I long ago stopped caring about rank and focused on what brings me joy in DBD.
I hate being permanently stuck in red ranks as both survivor and killer.
You can derank if you want tho, as I'm doing to avoid copy pasted games.

maybe somebody played toxic, so they played toxic also.
That's how it works.

wth it's right that works.

I mean, I main Legion and do "well" as him. I definitely do not put him as a even mediocre Killer at higher ranks. He just isn't good once people have some sense of looping and when to heal.
His win condition is simple. If Survivors heal, you win. If they don't, you lose.
Don't get me wrong, I love the rush down playstyle and their cosmetics are amazing, but their power isn't good.
I don't like the power because of applying pressure solely actually, there's something that people not realize about legion.
Map and vision control.
You have everytime a power that gives you the location of every survivor in your terror radius, that's strong if you know how to use it.
Sometimes I just hit an injured survivor with the power, just to get that information.
It's like having a constant infections fright.
Also, people hate playing against legion. I also use that in order to get better performances. I just tilt people with legion, so their performance goes worse and worse.
Edit: I also play and love doctor for the same reason as legion. I use people tilting as a tool to win.

I am hoping to be a 50/50 main, been trying to slowly get to it but the fear of facing rank 1s as a baby rank 20 scares me lol
The best is picking your side (killer/survivor), but knowing just the necessary about the other side.
But of course you can do what fits you.
I've been a main killer for a lot of time, and I just want to tell you one thing about playing killer: patience.
All about playing killer, is about being patient, and map controlling. Cold minded...etc.
As a killer you have to handle a lot of toxicity, etc.
Sometimes playing killer feels like taking caring of 4 childs in a playground, literally.

It's nice to find people on the threads that are just really sweet and nice to new people/people who have played the game for awhile. Or just killers/survivors who are nice to the opposing side. It makes me feel bubbly.
Also if devs buy into the whole "Nerf Spirit" movement, I will feel bad for Spirit mains, they'll have to adjust their play style because the devs keep pleasing the survivors. Not only that, Hillbilly didn't even need the nerf, only the add-ons.
And I can't begin to count how many people have said "Nerf Blight" when he's still in PTB, he's not public release, that's not the final product. Sit down, relax and just play your game, maybe eat a snack while you look over the final release version.
I keep playing now spirit and I lose more games than with every other killer.
Spirit for example, is not for me.
-
A game with an immense amount of grind, and just with 1 gamemode, a competitive one where you are always losing or gaining points, can never be a casual game.

It's just so many killers get loads of backlash and called toxic, but in reality survivors are just as toxic. We gotta defend each other, it's only a game. Just like PC and Console are both platforms that get played on, no need to group together the toxic people of a specific group and call the whole group toxic.
Games are meant to be fun, someone tried making a post saying removing SWF would remove toxicity, but killers can be toxic too. It's not only one groups fault, everyone has a contributing factor. And if a solo queue plays coordinated, they get called SWF. Honestly, people just need to learn to counter.
Spirit's Stridor has to be used correctly and you have to be able to pinpoint locations. It's a guessing game on both side. Spirit that doesn't have a great hold on Stridor yet? "GG ez baby killer" whelp you got yourself on a list of people to Mori, tunnel/camp, or just any way to ruin their experience.
If they learn to play good with Stridor, they get called toxic for using an "overpowered" killer. Yeah, okay.
Gosh people like you are a blessing.
For example, today I'm spamming spirit to prove people that spirit is not as strong as they think she is.
Spirit can be strong:
- If you know how to play spirit
- If it fits your play style
- If you enjoy playing her
- If you have played her a decent amount of hours
You can't just play spirit and instantly win games. That's not how this game works.

Thats fine, sorry if it feels like I'm trying to ######### on you. I just don't find them interesting or fun to play as or against.
I never feel like people is shitting on me when they "talk bad" about legion.
I love the killer, a lot. And I always have good performances.
But I understand that people might not like it.
The things why people hate legion are the things why I love legion.
Edit: legion is a little bit like wraith in the sense that it's not for everyone. Not everyone can play legion and perform decently. Sure it can be an "easy killer", but.....I don't know how to explain this, legion have to fit your play style in order for him to work.
This might sound like nonsense, but it's not.

Well, I enjoy playing legion tho

There is no real discussion you all agree.
Well today I'm just spamming spirit in my games just to prove people how wrong they are about her.

@Mekochi said:
So I am a survivor main (if you've seen any of my comments/posts I've pointed this out before) and I don't get why so many survivors complain about Spirit. She is counterable, you just have to learn to do it. If she does a fake out in front of a pallet, don't risk vaulting it, that's your own fault for playing dumb because it's an actual strategy.
"But Stridor Spirit renders Iron Will useless." You might say, out of the hundreds of games I've played against Normal Spirits and Stridor Spirits, I've learned to counter both just fine, yeah I lose a few games here and there, but I give the killer a GG instead of coming to the forums to post "X killer is OP!!"
No, that just means the killer you played against knew how to use that killer, Hillbilly just got nerfed, and two killer perks were buffed(? I don't play killer so I don't know how to feel about new Franklin's/Knockout lol).
What more do you want? Every killer you can't counter to receive a nerf because "Woes me, x killer killed me and is therefore overpowered." Grow up, survivors still need DS to get a nerf, until that happens, none of us get to complain about Spirit being "overpowered".
I just don't get it.
Thanks, a survivor who uses the brain that's rare, but I appreciate those ones A LOT.
Actually, one thing I want to add for stridor, is that is not SO OP as people think it is. The volume is so loud, that sometimes you can't tell whether you are right next to them, or just a little bit far away.

It’s still a little bit of extra wasted time running to a gen only to find you move through it instead.
I don't know if that tiny little time to check if a gen is real could be worth for a perk slot but...you never know in real gameplay how could affect.
-
@azame said:

This is literally bait you are trying to get people in here then aggravate them by saying do gens.
Don't be like that hahahaha
-
lmao dude im laughing and crying
Edit: actually I love psychology a lot, and there's a name for that. Not only for games, but for a lot of stuff and live in general. It's called pygmalion effect.

The totem thing could work, not the gen one.
The moment you start repairing a gen, you know what's the real one.

So! I'm currently grinding on DbD trying to rack up as many Auric Cells as I can. I'm hoping to unlock a new killer but I'm unsure which one. I've used my Iridescent Shards to unlock Legion and The Oni, but now- I need help deciding which is better? Ghostface or Myers? I'm a huge fan of Scream and Halloween so I'm stuck trying to decide. I can't get them both unfortunately but I'm really stuck. Which is more fun to play as and who gets you more kills, who do you die to more and who is scarier? Which is the better pick? Myers or Ghostface?!
"Myers or Ghostface?!"
The real question is...What do you like/prefer?
I like legion, I like doctor, so I play them.
Think the character that you like the most, and buy it.

Yeah, i've always preferred high green & all of purple.
To this day, every now and then i get people who are utterly taken back that i'd run something like Hex: Devour Hope, and i love that i do that to them.
They also sometimes state how surprised they are that i don't camp as Wraith.
I'll keep my B&C though, those Auras help big time for my build.
Yeah, BBQ it's always helpful for the immense grind that there is in this game tbh. Also the auras.
"They also sometimes state how surprised they are that i don't camp as Wraith."
^ I guess they were all the time facing rank 20 wraiths then lol.

I mean after a certain point you've experimented with pretty much everything there is and realize that the vast majority of perks just don't get enough value to warrant running them.
In that case that you've experimented enough and you don't like any of the perks, just the meta ones, ok I guess, fair enough.
But the gameplay will become just boring.
I've had games as killer that I just went afk because I was just tired. I could have won the game, I could have done something, yes, but it was sooo boring to play against that thing that I went afk.
Not because I was mad, because it's just tiresome.

New trailer is out and... nothing changed from the PTB? This is still Octane from Apex with a long cooldown?
EDIT: I wasn't expecting a full rework, don't get me wrong, but maybe for them to add being able to hit on 1st rush and lowering the cooldown if yoou miss a hit after bumping or not bumping.
Tbh I didn't expect them to do something about the blight power.
They just created a cheap killer. I'm disappointed about this killer.
But well, after a great killer like PH, I guess they needed to do something awful.
-
@TheWarNung said:
Just wait until you go against a team packed to the gills with meta perks who then get mad at you for using a single specific perk as killer.
I once got told that I was "unoriginal and unexciting" for using BBQ and PGTW against a team with 4 DS, 4 DH, 3 BT, 3 unbreakable, and 2 adrenaline. 'Unoriginal' indeed.
Already happened to me.
I've had all types of complaints, as every main killer I guess.
It's hard If they surprise me with new insults or complaints.

Switching survivor in the last second doesn't affect me at all, because I always play what I want regardless of them luuul :)

Obviously perks can help you out and make certain scenarios easier but you definitely don’t need them. It’s also a nice feeling knowing you survived a trial by literally using the bare minimum. I don’t tend to use exhaustion perks, so I didn’t really notice much of a difference. I was just a lot louder as I had no Iron Will lol.
*meg breathing intensifies*
-
@TheLastGreatStar said:
The thing is, survivors don’t actually need perks to win. I was bored recently and decided to do perkless games and I was coming out with 20-30k consistently and in most of the games I was the sole survivor. It just makes you play smarter as you can’t rely on certain perks to save you when you mess up. I actually really enjoyed it. I think the only meta perks I use are Iron Will and Spine Chill. The other 2 perk slots are normally where I experiment. I’m looking forward to using Botany Knowledge and Desperate Measures to be the team medic. 😂
With killer it just depends on who I’m playing as, as it’s fun switching up builds and trying new things to see what works and what doesn’t.
This remembered me once that I got looped to death by a meg a long time ago, he was running a perkless build.
That time, I realized that survivors don't really need them.
She performed flawlessly without perks, it was just amazing.
I mean, I got rekt by the whole team, but at the same time I was like: "Wow, props to that meg".
-
@Veen said:
It's not easy to not run meta perks, I'd try as many fun builds as possible but I either ends up sacrificed because there no obsession and I get tunneled the heck out of me, or some meta perks would have granted me victory if I had them instead of more situational ones.
In the end, It really depends if you want to escape or not, it's like 4k points so...
Edit : trials are funnier with chill builds though.
For example, I really don't care about killing, or not killing.
All I care is performance (score).
Obviously running meta perks would give me "the best performance", but I always want to try new builds too try to find some of them that have good performance in games, without needed the crutch perks every time. Because it just gets boring.

Dude, I started writing in the forums before crossplay smh.

This doesn't derank to 17.
You sure? If you do literally nothing during the whole game, It should derank.
Never tested it, but it makes sense since the emblem system works that way.
You derank if you get a black pip/entity displeased.
How do you get that? With a poor performance.
And the worst performance in the game you could have is doing nothing, afk in a corner with wraith, because even if they get close to you, you can't get chase points AFK in invisible mode.
