At this point looping is basically a "fault-turned-feature" much like rocket jumping in games that feature it, Gandhi dropping nukes left and right in Civ games and so on.
Making looping less foolproof by making structures more mindgameable would indirectly make actually breaking chase more appealing as well, you'd be less likely to safely run from pallet to pallet for as long. I would personally love this as when I play the game my focus is heavily on individual chases over the end result, and mindgaming (and getting mindgamed for that matter!) is the game at its best to me.
My perfect chase-related design would be one with maps heavily reworked to facilitate more mindgames and with the need for bloodlust eliminated.

Red Forest
Not really because of the gameplay, it just feels really "comfy" and nice. The lighting, the rain, the main building - it's just nice to me.
Special mention to how Haddonfield used to look with the Brightest Moonlight offering, also a very pleasing map to look at in that circumstance.
-
I like both the character and his model in DBD, but he's so incredibly loud and his injured groaning gets on my nerves really quickly.

here's a reasonable change, survivors must stay on the generator for 3 seconds to prevent the regression instead of just tapping it mid chase
This is all I can really think of wanting for gen kicking too.
Killer has to spend time to kick it, I don't see why survivors shouldn't have to spend time to "unkick" it.
-
Try to land close enough with a blink that you can hit them without an extended lunge. VERY hard to dead hard in reaction to, and if they use the perk in advance then you just made them use it. With an accurate enough blink the time they have to dead hard reactively is so incredibly tiny that most people will use it before they know if they "need it".
When you get good enough at being this accurate you can also blink close, wait and see if they dead hard and then use your second blink to hit them if they do, and just hit them right there if they don't. It does of course get harder if it's actually a survivor that's good at making it hard to get close with the 1st blink, but that's not really related to Dead Hard itself.
-
I'm similar.
I mostly play M1 killers as I find it the most fun personally, and my focus is more on individual chases and trying to outplay the people I chase than the end result of the match. Sure I do what I can to apply pressure and extend the game like slugging the person that gets unhooked and then chasing the unhooker and slugging in general when it's beneficial, but I don't tunnel or camp pretty much ever. At the same time I won't ignore a recently unhooked person if I see them and their savior disappeared into the 5th dimension either.
I don't want a pat on the back for it, it's simply how I have the most fun.
-
A lof of the time they're just another type of "i've had it with <commonly complained about topic>, i'm leaving until the devs get rid of it!!!" thread and are little more than typical cry-threads with an "ultimatum" like that thrown in.
Which is also why I don't post in them or open them at all, as I have nothing constructive to add to them in the vast majority of cases either π
-
I wish you could load into KYF alone, with two survivors.. hell, even more than one killer for that purpose.
Would be handy to explore or show tricks to others and such.
-
If everyone just broke the dull totems they happened to run past during the match that alone would basically delete NOED from the game outside of some maps like Swamp that has totems in corners that are quite out of the way unless there's a hook there. On some maps totems are especially hilariously easy to find (autohaven - just look between the tires in T/L wall loops and that's probably 3 or 4 of them right there)
I do this, and even with the ONE person I often play SWF with we often get all the totems without actively looking for them on many maps.
-
Eh, personally I prefer it over games starting with less than 5 players. A lot of the time such games just turned into suicidal farmfests on the survivor side as nobody actually cared or tried at all, or a straight up BP farming session (which is fine in moderation to me).
Didn't like it as killer either as starting the game with such an advantage isn't fun to me. The fact they have to do less gens is kind of pointless when they're so much less effective with 3 sets of hands instead of 4. There's a reason tunneling is effective - the moment one person is dead that means it's easier to get in the "1 chased - 1 saving - 1 on the hook" death spiral.

Since when did infinite, near-infinite, pseudo-infinite and all those other terms start meaning "loop where the survivor gets to vault 3 times unless they have a massive brainfart"?
It's a strong loop that's often not worth chasing people through and I believe it should be changed, but calling it anything involving the word infinite just bothers me for some reason.
-
I wouldn't.
It's a strong 1-use perk done right in my opinion.
-
I am not entirely sure if the devs can explicitly see the difference between an incredibly "convenient" lagspike and an actual lagswitch in their logging, but even if they can't you'd need to get a LOT of those little incidents to realistically get in any trouble. No connection can be 100% stables every single second of the day, year in and year out.
-
She doesn't need a buff on console, console needs optimization and a wider range of sensitivity options. Even then her skill FLOOR will be quite high on console, but that just comes down to the input method of controllers.
-
Slugging too much can screw you over. Randomly slugging when you have no immediate goal in reach (another chase, intercepting a gen/save/something else) can often just let the survivor get back up without losing a "life".
If you can slug one and chase another it makes a lot of sense of course. Even in the most optimal situation a slug snowball can backfire if even one player has Unbreakable as well, so don't expect it to be THE strat at all times.

SWF should have never been added in the first place.
Lets not buff solos. lets nerf swf. Give them blindness, and a 20% gen repair penalty to make things a little less one sided.
Would be a complete waste of time and resources as it would just annoy and confuse casual players and people that really want to tryhard could just circumvent it by lobby dodging until they get eachother as solos. Not even that hard if they are geographically and rank-wise close to eachother.
-
It's 32k just like killer but the Survival score category makes it very unlikely as there's not really a lot of score events for that besides the obvious (escaping).
Something like ~28k or more is basically a godly survivor game if you ask me and basically equivalent to 31k-32k killer games.
-
While it's not as functionally redundant as that no mither build, Bamboozle/Enduring/Brutal/Spirit Fury on Nurse is also a huge meme in itself.

Big Brain Play
Increases points gained for escaping a chase by 200/400/600%

You don't, the stars aligned in their favor just like when a killer gets two gates they can look at from the same hill during EGC. Just happens.
-
Fun and growing the already rather large item collection that my Ace has π
-
Don't really care. I play however I want in that particular match and my rank can go where it wants to go as a result.
Might be my mindset (focusing more on the isolated act of winning chases and outplaying people than the end result/"4k") but I have fun with any killer no matter the rank personally.

It doesn't work in reverse.
Survivors outright report killers for doing normal stuff. Killers complain about gameplay features that are inconsistent, create perverse incentives or weren't originally in the game but introduced as the result of feedback without being debated or tested first.
It's a joke, chill.
And also,
#21: You shall not use any other cosmetics than default Dwight.

Unless they straight up admit it or make it blatantly obvious (Tru3's snipers do make it pretty obvious) it's impossible to prove. A smart sniper would make your life hell while being smart enough to make it impossible to prove, so if you called them out for it you'd just seem like a crybaby. Look at "scandals" like the PUBG and Fortnite streamsniping accusations and such to see what happens when devs take the words of streamers as gospel.
As said the devs stated in a recent thread that they do not punish people for out-of-game actions either. Just like if someone leaves weapons-grade rage and harassment on your steam profile that's a Steam problem, not a DBD problem. Streamsniping is a Twitch problem and not a DBD problem, and if it gets truly unbearable you can just hide your lobby screen and it gets significantly harder for them to do so.
-
He's fun to play and he obviously has fun too with all the laughing.
For someone like me that focus the most on isolated events like chases and mindgames over the bigger picture (winning, pipping, whatever) he's pretty enjoyable, as clever bottle placements feels rewarding when it works.

Would be cool if the number kept going up even if the bloodweb maxes out at 50 and that's when you get to prestige. I'd like to see exactly how many webs I've pumped into my Huntress and my Dwight π
Maybe make it P3 only or something, so if you want to you can go for P3-1000 Dwight when you run out of stuff to spend your BP on.

+rep/-rep started as a sort of intended feedback system for Steam trading I'm pretty sure. Obviously still completely and utterly pointless from the very start as a scammer could just make 48 alts and comment "+rep good trade :))" on their own profile if they wanted to, which is why trading usually uses third-party reputation systems like SteamREP and the like.
Nowadays it's just a complete meme, it's not uncommon to see people comment stuff like "post -rep cheater aimbot on my profile and I'll comment back" on announcements because such comments are just a total joke. Some people in DBD seem like they never got the memo and do it entirely unironically, I guess to "warn" future players that they are playing with a naughty boy?
So either collect them and laugh at them, curate them and delete all except your favorites, or limit commenting permissions to friends only/private π
-
Just adding a totem spot in a corner on those dreaded Z-walls at the edge of the map could be interesting.
Lery's and Swamp is a bit different as they have more "unique" spots by the edges, like behind the vaultable log and Lery's is an indoor map where you actually spend more time in the corners than usual a lot of the time.
-
- Working with the opposite team to gain an advantage or grief teammates
Is a reportable offense. Farming people off the hook is one thing, but if they did go out of their way to block your escape I would argue it falls under that. So in other words, report that kind of thing.
-
Use it WITH Botany Knowledge and a medkit and it's pretty juicy. Those medkits last a LONG time for self healing (and healing others as well really)
-
Hah, I like the term "bulldozer". If the killer just grinds through pallets with no mindgames with perks like enduring + spirit fury + brutal or whatever I usually just say they brute force the pallets, but bulldozer is a good word for it π
-
Again, EGC has no obligation to be fair to one side or the other, its primary and in my opinion only purpose is to put a hard time limit on a situation that could be dragged out forever in at least two ways before (hatch standoff if both have the patience of a saint, or the survivor just hiding forever).
Sometimes you get gates that can be seen from the same hill and you're against a Nurse, sometimes you get gates on opposite sides of the map against a killer with no mobility. It doesn't matter, either way it makes the match actually end in one way or another.

Running in circles requires little to no skill if you think it does you are mentally deluded. All you do is loop around a pallet drop it when you have to run to another one rinse and repeat wow such amazing skill
Then how can people be varying degrees of good/effective at looping? Sure the actual action of running around a pallet is pretty mindless, but knowing how to run different tiles correctly, knowing mindgames, jukes, their counters and so on is something that only comes with experience from both the killer and survivor involved. It's not mechanical skill, but that's not the only type of skill.
If it truly took no skill at all then only "knows how to loop" and "doesn't know how to loop" would exist.
-
That's such a silly "reason" that unless they're the kind of person that sandbags fellow survivors they see breaking a single dull totem or something they're probably just fishing for salt.
So not worth the energy required to think about them if you ask me.
-
Play however you want and ignore what people say.
Even though if you actively avoid commonly complained about actions like you say you do and people still complain, you should double ignore the complaints.
-
The EGC is not concerned with benefiting one side or the other, it's just there to put a time limit on the match.
Don't expect an escape until you've run out the gate or jumped through the hatch. That's as silly as killers expecting a kill until the survivor in question is dead in one way or another.
-
I find snares pretty damn good, especially with how you can just drop them down without any slowdown or eventual reload/re-stock at all.
And Freddy overall feels pretty fun to play AND play against, and seems to get pretty decent results a lot of the time. Sure I miss old Freddy in a weird way as I had gotten used to him but the more I play/play against nu-Freddy the more I like him.
-
Oh look, a sore loser. How revolutionary π
Seriously this is nothing out of the norm and has nothing to do with 4ks, escapes or anything else - people simply blame SOMETHING to not realize they might've made mistakes. Killers blaming SWF in lobbies where everyone are solos with public friends lists, survivors blaming NOED even if it didn't make a difference in any way at all, people with good items/add-ons crying about the other side using good items/add-ons... suddenly the loss isn't your fault, the odds were clearly stacked against you from the start so it "doesn't count" π
Is it better to just keep it to yourself and move on? Of course, complaining like this person did makes you look like a sore loser at best, and makes you a tempting target for further trolling at worst. That's of course not "right" in the slightest, but it's just how it is. If the person someone accuses of being a toxic survivor, tunneling killer or whatever actually is what you accuse them of, are they going to care? No, if anything that will just encourage them. And if it's a false accusation then again you just look like a sore loser.
-
Ash is pretty cool, and flip flop can be a pretty fun perk. Especially if you want that wiggle achievement π
Up to you though, he doesn't have any crazy strong perks but he's a neat character and all.
-
I generally play survivor whenever the friend that also plays the game feels like playing survivor, and killer otherwise with a little bit of solo survivor thrown in as well.
So neither, I'd say. I'd imagine it's something like 60/40 survivor/killer overall.

wait, you can't use balanced landing on shelter woods? what about the stairs in the basement?
You can also climb the base of the tree in the middle in a certain way and drop long enough to trigger it I'm pretty sure. Still a lot less useful than on maps with distinct hills or elevation differences though, but it IS a pretty funny trick π
-
Eh, they'd be crazy if they actually did anything resembling butchering her.
I'll happily trade loadouts like omegablink, no-downside 4blink and so on if they make all the add-ons that are terribly underused more appealing. Just look at all those potentially fun effects on her purple add-ons for example, and then realize they very rarely see use since their downside is -1 blink or something super awkward like severely slowed charge time.
-
I think most people can agree that the original Freddy slaughtering was a mistake, and while the initial Pig RBT change that came with EGC is one thing the recent change of her ambush attack to not being considered a basic attack just leaves me confused.
But original Legion was something that a LOT of survivors and killers alike found to be total bullshit. Nurse can "ignore defenses" with practice, skill and knowledge, OG Legion only required the player to be sentient, have at least one functional hand and room temperature IQ. Are there things that I disagree with in their rework? For sure, I see no reason that they shouldn't get their old vault speed back, move faster in Frenzy, their ability/deep wound being better and that sort of thing, but FMT moonwalking and 1001 frenzy stab Legion getting sent to the shadow realm was incredibly deserved.
No one actually knows what they are going to do, personally I'm just hoping they rework a lot of the very underused add-ons she has (like all the purple add-ons with interesting strong effects but -1 blink as a downside).
-
The lullaby is just a terror radius that sounds different. It's a bit harder to determine proximity so it is a bit "stronger" than having a terror radius, but other than that it functions the same.

They have increased the negative effect that a toxic survivor DCing can have on a killer. That is promoting toxicity.
That's.... not how it works at all. If you genuinely do believe they did this on purpose or is postponing fixing it for any malicious purpose other than "there's higher priority things than achievements for us to fix" then sorry but you're straight up deluded by tribalistic us-vs-them bullshit.
-
They're not ever restricting/handicapping SWF, if this is a dealbreaker for you then you might as well just quit the game right now to save yourself the trouble. Closing the gap and buffing killers that need it is clearly the direction the devs want to go.
No one even knows what exactly they are going to do to the Nurse yet. Sure it can be assumed that range extenders and extra blink add-ons might stop stacking or be reworked into something entirely different, but she also has so many weird and underused add-ons that will probably straight up BENEFIT from getting reworked. How often do you really see her purple add-ons used outside of one-blink meme/practice builds?
-
Just fix the phantom grab bug and there's not much of an issue. Outside of the absolutely tightest of timings you can just do a short lunge and cancel it early to avoid going for a grab, can you not?
And besides it makes me feel like a megamind genius when I herd my obsession into a grab while running STBFL.
-
I feel lost and confused but in a good way.
So I guess I like them π. Gotta fix that uncleansable totem spot though.
