RNG can ######### up either side. Just because you got bad RNG once doesn’t make the game automatically survivor sided.

The RNG is 3 survivors can do a gen in 30 sec a the avrage chase last about 15sec to 1min anything longer your should end it(i said 15 sec for the higher ranks but let's be real here its more like 25+ then you have to carry and hook). So to sum up, survivors objective takes an avrage of 30sec (when playing well) the killers objective of hooking survivors takes about 45 sec (on avrage) so already survivor > killer. The killer also has to go to the gen and hit it so let's say the killers objective time is at 50sec now. So the killers has to stop something that takes 30 seconds by doing something that takes 50 seconds. So Survivors have about a 20 sec advantage. Times that per gen survivors have a 100sec that gives survivors a 1min 40sec time advantage over the killer in any given match.

I think Flashbangs are fine as is.

I have more of an issue with Blast Mine than Flashbangs due to the lack of really being able to counter it. Head On at least can be baited once you know someone has it. I just think 5 second stun/blindness is too much for Blast Mine and should be reduced to 3.

    Lightborn+blastmine =BBQ for gens.

But I think enduring should have some kind of reduced stun to blast mines, and mabye even all stun durations at this point in the game.

  • Bc on top of the bp stacks BBQ's aura reading is still super useful an could be a tracking perk on its own. WGLW dose have the speedy revive but is not as practical especially w perks like Unbreakable, on top of that earning the bp gains require you to be off the objective most of the time an take up a perk slot that could be used by something like Man of mettle.

Mindbreaker is also a great perk on him. Sometimes ill run pop, thrilling, mindbreaker and blood echo and it works pretty well. Its funny watching the dead harders have no idea what to do without their crutch

Ya I love that it forces survivors to chose between doing gens or being exaughsted and more often then not I find survivors waiting out the blood echo exaughston well all there freinds die. Another great build! XD

It's just examples for trickster. Never claimed the survivors were amazing. I don't record every match

No uts defenetly a good example of a match gone right(for killer) but I wouldn't have expectations of every match going like this with trickster

  • Terror radius perks with his iridescent button work pretty well I like too run something like

    coulrophobia - thanatophobia - ruin - undying.

Aslong as you have a perk that will force pepole to heal and something that regress gens while they do so ur good. Blood echos another good option bc it can deny those ded hards pepole try to cancel ur frenzy with and forces a survivors to heal.

Legion is also great at slugging.

Too any one who says legions bad. ill see you next time you rage bc your tired of healing and I won't end my toxic frenzy.

  • I don't wanna be that guy but alot of this was just bad play on the survivor part. You chased someone for just over 2 minutes and not a single gen was poped by the time u hooked them. Ik ruins In play but still the survivors messed up ALOT.

  • LOL you guys do realize this is a bait post right? Either way its funny to watch everyone rant.

  • No only because its still not an excuse for nerfing the old one and I refuse to use it till its reworked to its OG state.

  • @PassarinoT said:

Based off this latest update, do you think the majority of the dev team plays Dead By Daylight when not just testing things?

I think they spend to much time playing the cell phone and switch versons.

  • I usually find its the survivors calling me trash after I get a 4k. Usually followed by accusations of camping and tunneling witch

A.you all just died so fast i had no where else to patrol but the hooks ur on

    B. If I was camping it should have been an ez win for the other 3.

    C. Evin if I was, Campings allowed not OP or game breaking by any means just boring. An the reason your getting "tunneld" is probly cause your considerd weak prey and can't loose or outlive a chase.

  • Yeah I play solo 95% of the time unless I have an actual friend that want's to go on which is rarely the case bc non of them play this game. I find swf groups get to sweaty an it sometimes takes ages to find a group an ready up on top of that every one mostly uses the same perks and it gets redundant pretty quick.

  • @Heartbound said:

I have them all. Only my Trapper/Dwight are P3 with all perks though. I generally get every character up to level 50 and when I run them out of add ons or items I prestige them. Whatever perks they get, they get.

This leads to me using a lot of weird perks and meme builds. I don't even play that seriously unless I'm doing a rift challenge or something that requires me to do something specific. I'm very invested, but at the same time not invested at all.

Ya I try to follow the same strategy but sometimes I just get that one perk i really wanna try and end up wasting all my points on a level 50 takeing ages before I work off the addons xP

To an extent, but there's a reason you only see nurse and spirit at tourney. If you take the best player for every killer and see their results, they won't be the same. There are bad killers, you can think they aren't and that's fine. But there is a difference in power from Nurse to Trickster.

Ok fine you got me there with Trickster. I think the community just needs to decide if they want the game competitive or not, bc ya I guess ur right there is a difference when your going all out at sweaty rank 1. but alot of us just play for fun and in the grand scheme of things matches have such a random skill gaps i don't find the killers strength differences too noticeable. P.s id never play a dbd turrny it just sounds frustrating to make a RNG based game competitive.

  • @Steah said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2279709#Comment_2279709

Alright then, who are the weakest 3 killers in the game?

Its all perspective really. Like I can play Legion better then bubba any given day but thats bc I like to spread out the damage and not stay focused on 1v1s and gives use to different perks. Non are bad in my opinion it just comes down to play style. A fps player may have amazig luck with death slinger while someone not so good at aming may rant about how he's terrible.

  • @Steah said:

Survivor's classify weak killers as "balanced" and don't understand why red ranks become the spirit show.

Nemesis is not high B or low A. There are more killers stronger than him than there are weaker.

He is not down in the dumps with trickster, trapper, legion and the boys.

But he also isn't anywhere as good Plague, Huntress, Oni

    He's around GF level imo.

Legion and trapper are not bad lmao they just require pepole to think outside the box and mabye use some diffrent perks. Id struggle with Legion too if I kept useing perk builds desind for spirit on him.

  • Its not nemesis its the fact that there update came with 50'000 bugs and poor latency actuly makes it hard to land tentacle strikes so the only thing i understand is the want to widen his hit zone but I think fixing the actual game itself should have the same effect.

  • No and with BBQ it can be around 60+ but to be fair the killers invested into the entire round and is forced to go trough the match no matter what. In theory a survivor could die half way through and play 2 rounds in the same time it takes the killer to complete one. In practice not so much perks like were going to live forever and prove thy self help hit the 40k mark, but still not a garenteed since the killer ultimately dictates how a match will go.

  • The problem is his tentacle dosint conect half the time due to proformance issues or survivors buging the game or whatever it is causing you to miss and not get ur level 3 ability (the one that actually register's hits) until there's like 1 gen left an by then its usually to late.

So ya he can be verry frustrating at high ranks but its cause the game can't handle pepole's fast reaction times causing a mess of issues.

I like to see how they integrate these liscensed characters into their universe, and can appreciate well written crossovers.

Sorry you have can't enjoy a good story, or revel in others' creativity.

I like how you think you're this cultured elitest appreciating the arts of the world the way others canot. I buy video games to play video games like nobody actually reads every book in skyrim.

  • A. who cares

    B. Who needs a back story for license characters with back storys already.

Thats like going oh whats Micael's back story idk go watch Halloween.

  • @Alphasoul05 said:

"Those of us that know how to use him." He's not complicated, there is nothing to figure out. He is a killer that can keep everyone injured, that is then nothing but a basic M1 killer - the easiest type of killer to loop. Therefore his only "strength" is managing to injure all 4 survivors, hooking one survivor, then camping them to take advantage of no one healing. But then all they have to do is heal one person, while another sits on a gen. You see where I'm going with this? He's terrible.

Ya but there's perks and addons. Especially when his addons can do things like make his terror radius effect the entire map and ignore pallets. Then you can combine those with perks or addons that slow healing and you can combine those perks with that slow gens or with other perks that regress gens while survivors are healing/mending with perks that stop healing so survivors can basicly do nothing. An these 4 killers do it best.

Abuse? Doing anything in DBD is abuse according to the rule book.

    This comment's abuse.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

No. Far too significant a difference between Killer playstyles. Not to mention the stark differences in gameplay between sides. Or the stark difference in how each game is played. Siege is an FPS with fast TTK times necessitating early-game setup to keep the match interesting given the perma-death in-round. DBD is a platformer with setup being performed mid-match given the elongated engagements.

Survivors are just going to ban Killers they don't like/are meta, and Killer's banning Survivors is basically doing nothing apart from potentially screwing over new Players or Survivor Mains (Same for Killer if this is done in-lobby rather than pre-lobby). And if it's just banning meta Perks... Well, that just becomes banning meta perks.

How come everyone's so focused on the pick an ban. Yes the games are verry different. Im not talking about actual in game play here im saying seige has setup phases and gameplay options would make a good template for this game to follow. But I would support porting tachanka into the entity's realm and making him a killer

  • Uhh you rework the pre game lobby so survivors can ban one killer and the killer can ban 1 perk after the ban phase the players are givin a short time to replace any ban perks, a backup killer is allowed to be chosen an loadout customized, newreleases are exempt. This wouldn't always have an effect on the game but could change up some redundancies like faceing the same killer 5 times in a row or a killer getting frustrated with a perk. Vise versa it would open a whole new range of tactics. Like a "no heal" build where the killer bans self care and survivors are forced to overcome it.

The other idea i had was to pick a survivor and killer to ban they don't actually get ban but there perks do!

  • @GhostMaceNotCrusty said:

DBD just needs an actual competitor so that they ah reason to push out updates

If they had a competitor id throw my money at it.

  • Lol I didn't even know this is the consensus now I still run it all the time bc it dose what its meant for. An can still bring a stack to mome just needs some more planing.

  • @GannTM said:

Lucky Break is being highly underestimated imo. Breaking LoS with the perk is almost a guaranteed escape in a chase, especially combined with Iron Will or Quick and Quiet. 45 seconds may be a one-time use but there are many other perks that are one-time uses and are very strong: DS, Unbreakable, Adrenaline, etc. Let’s also not forget that it’s not even guaranteed these perks will see use every match.

Ya but my issue is changing a perk that was being used in a certan playstyle in order to cater to newer or less experienced players (from my perspective).

I would have no issue if the newLucky was introduced as its own perk as it still has its uses im not arguing. But its just such a change from what it used to be and it was the only perk that allowed a "nomither build" without actually useing the perk lol.

  • Get the same feels whith camaraderie it has potential to foil campers if survivors stay on gens and use every second possible out of that 30 sec pause. But no let's just see camaraderie activate then farm me infrot of the killer 2 sec after my team let me hit the struggle phase effectively wasting my perk slot. Tnx team..

  • I guess he can be frustrating on the lower ranks but its more so the fault of survivors ill always see pepole taking there loops too wide or sprintbursting out into the open just basicly giving free knive hits. But over all His abilitys pretty easy to deny plus his low speed he's easily one of the weakest killers.

  • Lmao they should have worked the bug into the perk would have made it way better considering the "buff" was just one of those hot topics and now I never see the perk in use or use it myself anymore.

  • Its undetectable* and its not a bad idea could defenetly give beast of prey some needed love but I could see this being kinda op with dark devotion an stacked with PWYF. there's also trail of torment witch could be iffy. Myers also has that addon and could be strong. Billy an blight also have undetectable addons idk how that'd make much of a difference tho. The speed boost while undetectable would almost be a better addon to "Play with your food" since it got nerfed also preventing a combination of both perks. But survivors would just complain either way.

  • @Blueberry said:

I would rather face any killer other than DS. Such a boring match. Hag would be a close second.

Why DS? He actuly has quite a bit of counter play i kinda enjoy dodging his spear gun that an he's easy to build man o mettle stacks with.

  • Suvivor.

Spaner in the works- rig a single hook to break the hook breaks 2/4/5 sec after you are picked up.

Kash vault - vault a window/plattet and kick the killer if standing on the other side stunning him exaughston for 60/50/40 sec

Nows my chance - every 20/15/10 sec while on the hook and within 12m of the killer gain a token up to 4 tokens. Each token increases your escape chances by 25%

Scopophobia - after being hooked gain the endurance status effect while in the killers terror radius. Peresists for 5/10/15 sec after being unhooked or leaving the killers terror radius.

    It is absolutely not fine.

It *used* to be a perfect spot where only actions that could injure and down survivors directly would make you use stacks. e.g Hatchets, Demo's Shred, PH's ranged attack. But it has since been unjustifiably nerfed to also affect killer powers that don't. e.g Doctor's Shock, Clown's Bottles, Blights Rush (Not the attack), Plague's Uncorrupted Bile and Deathslinger's Gun.

It was already a niche perk that basically required you to use Nemesis to get any use out of it. It should never have been nerfed.

I think it got nerfed/"hotfixed" around the release of twins there ways a way of slugging the obsession with Hector an completely abuseing the perk id assume you could do this by only shred attacking with demo too keeping all stacks basicly the whole game. But ya now it kinda sucks.. alot of killers that could benefit from its interactions being balanced.

  • @supersonic853 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2191820#Comment_2191820

They could fix its interactions with killers like blight and plagues vile purge. Blight rush unless you swing shouldn't be a offensive action. And vile purge on its own doesnt even damage sure it makes em broken but still. It also used to go down on clown bottles.

Ya this is what I mean I just think they need to change what counts as a "missed" or "special" attack but leave the perk itself unchanged.

What killers have you tried? The majority of them have custom main menu themes when you've selected them

All of em, I have all the killers I first noticed it not working on legion an ya im pretty sure the huntress lullabies supposed to be playing same with clowns music and ik the Myers theme would play thats not either.

  • @Laluzi said:

Certain killers have custom menu music and some don't. Or are you not getting custom music on anyone?

Ya I get it on no one, probably cause I'm console lol.

  • When ever I ran Old lucky break I noticed the timer would reset if I heald myself before the perk deactivated. Not sure if intended but the peek worked good like that.

  • Youll hate me for saying this but Basicly learn how his ability works. Meaning you have to learn all his different tricks. So I'll just go off on a list .

-learn how to track with blood orbs with practice you'll be able to tell exactly what suvivors were up to and learn there tactics i.e if you end up following bunch of orbs to the corner of the map B. You just found a "healing spot" and you can expect them to come back there and A. Someone just got heald here so there's probly 2 survivors on the closest gen to that spot.

-learn how to flick his deamon dash. Nuff said

-learn who and what to hit like if you have 50%ish of ur ability charged and faced with an injurd or healthy survivor your actuly better off hitting the healthy one to get ur deamon dash .this can quickly convert to 2 injures and a down while keep survivors busy and way from gens plus all the blood orbs you'll get.

-know how to slug with him there's a time for swinging and a time for hooking. Basically this just comes down to if you think you can get a deamon strike on another player before his ability runs out. If it seemes risky or there baiting you to a strong loop dont risk it just do the pickup an save ur power.

    -and THE GOLDEN RULE!

don't get but hurt! Practice makes perfect keep you cool an dont let toxic survivors get to you. Oni can change the tide of a round in a split second an unexpected comebacks are quite possible. its so satisfying when you help that one surv do his t-bags w ur wooden paddle.

  • Depends on killers sensitivity and how he positions himself for pickups. i turn my sensitivity to 100% always pickup facing a wall or away from the other suvivors then flail around in circles while carrying to hook(you can 180 side to side making the survivors struggle help you reach the hook quicker while doging flashlight beams). Flashlight saves require alot of planing/luck (dending on killer skill) you have to be in the right position hit em at just the right time so the blinding effect hits the killer just after he dose that little hump over the shoulder during pickups, addons change this too witch makes muscle memory harder to learn. a good Killer will also slug to avoid this so you'll probly need to be fully heald or run ironwill to hide close enough to position yourself for a save. But what do I know, good luck out there!

Not every red rank surv is some sweaty passionate full time DBD player. It took me less than 80 hours to hit rank 1 on survivor when I was new. You have beginners there, sometimes beginners who don't even like dbd that much and just play with friends and are all but boosted by people who are better and you have people who just get by, pip up and do enough to hit said rank 1 because frankly, it isn't hard. You don't have to be some no life dbd god to get there the bar is very low.

Ik i just mean I never had the attention span to go all ty survivor like thats 80 hours of playing the game "meta" id assume. meaning useing the same perks and strats again and again. Dont get me wrong its fun to throw on DH BT SC an all those other cliché perks a go all ty, but it gets boring after a while atleast killers have different abilities they can use. Maybe someties I just wanna be chased till the killer gets me or throw my self in a situation where i could use a perk. (Trying to make the killer slug w soul guard, unbreakable ect) idc if it means I dot touch a gen an de-pip atleast I had fun.

  • Because any one who grinds to reaches rank1 survivor is probly a no-life w low self esteem and you just ruined the one thing they thought they were good at. These are the kinda survivors that can't have fun experimenting w perks and ######### you out for not running "meta" perks like BT bc they kept t-baging the killer an are now getting faced camped.

  • Some perks should be left alone. And noed is one of them.

  • Well considering every survivor punishes me w hatch every chance they get even when I'm not being toxic I'd say ya the solution is to always be toxic an not give survivors chance to even find a key.

  • @YukariTheAlpaca said:

Undetectable is pretty bad if survivors know how to use their camera. Reducing the needed laceration hits is a much better option.

No i agree reduced laceration is definitely no1 priority. (Edit) *number 1 priority

Im just throwing out there i find his ability dose have a suprsingly good metea with undetectable more so ToT again idk why. U can do things like 99% a laceration meter dipp off to smack a nearby survivor while ur still off the radar then go throw the last knife at buddy an if your lucky you'll time ur main event meter right an finish him w that. Bassicly undetectable combined w the laceration meter makes it hard to tell who the actual target is ultimately screwing with the survivors decision making abilitys. xP

  • The hatch needs more locks considering i can find 2 keys in a round without any perks make that 3 w plunders and 5 with aprasial. (Yes I found 5 keys in a round useing pluders/aprasial) in case your wondering yes the killer did close the hatch 3 times in a row well we all escaped one by one. It helped since the hatch spawn addons are brown and I have 50 of them (no joke i have 50) and you can almost grantee a key w plunders usually i find an average of 2. So that's a free escape at the cost of 1-2 perk slot + 1 common addon. At this point I just report hatch users for exploit's bc thats what the hatch is In its current state.

  • I Remeber when you could test your nat type and force all the survivors to DC good times..

  • I've been saying exactly the same things! He needs to finish his chases quicker or somehow be able to apply way more gen pressure/slowdown. I'd also love to see the undetectable effect worked into his ability or addons. I use trail of torment all the time w him and being undetectable actuly makes his throwing knives way better, I think this is cause you can mind game them around corners and get a couple extra knives in. Im really pushing for Removing the red stain while aming knives or something to that effect if not a reworked addon that can make you undetectable. But yea i 100% agree the tricksters main downfall is his ability dose not end chases as fast as it should.
