I asked for a clean explanation. I gave one. Lullaby did NOTHING for doctor madness because it is always the same pattern how the skillchecks appear. Please give me a clean before-after comparison to show why this turned into trash in your opinion

It affected the doctor's madness. Now it doesn't affect it. Now that I think of it, I'm pretty sure it affected the pigs traps as well. But that's gone too.

So lullaby is same no matter which killer uses it. The affects are the same across the board.

My point is that nobody really complained about it, but the devs changed it.

U can call it a rework. I call it a nerf.

What is the problem exactly with the change? Why is it trash now? Because the missing sound is missing?

The skillchecks "now unaffected" by lullaby are pretty clear when they appear. Once you saw overcharge, you know you will face it on every sparkling gen. No need to hear it, you just know it will come. Same on madness. The 3 skillchecks appear like every 3 seconds. That is always the same on madness. No need for an audio cue. And 6% regression on madness? What a bummer, now THAT was always killing you. Not the fact that you just screamed and revealed your position to the killer.

I don't know if I got all pervious and current interactions correctly, but I think there is not a single case that makes the perk "worthless". If you say so, it either was already before but you didn't notice or you exaggerate.

Bruh.. nobody uses it in its current state. It was a nerf becuz it did more than it was supposed to at least for the doctor.

Now it doesn't do any extra for the doctor.

U can call it that they 'fixed' it.

But end result is that it's nerfed.

I take it you're stupid because half the nerfs u listed wasn't even nerfs, on top of that the only killers that could get absolutely detroyed as you claim is pretty much michael Wraith trapper clown demogorgon sometimes doctor depending on the map and sometimes hillbilly depending on the map plagues a hit or miss, and even then they normally only get destroyed when it's a 3 or 4 man group, literally the rest of the killers aka the ones you always see is absurdly broken, gunslinger has 0 terror radius, pyra throws things to infinity and beyond, spirit suffers no penalty for power and can easily catch/track, oni can full sweep or your money back, nurse literally makes the core game fundamentals invalid (delete nurse now), huntress iri head you gotta pray they haven't played longer than a hour or else also normally suffers the same pyra fate (throw pallet get hit, don't throw get hit choice is yours), freddy has absurd map pressure and the utility to boot, bubba and hag is fine and pigs fine other than the insane hit box she has, legion is a hit or miss, I'm a solo que player/killer with 3000+ hours and I can tell you the only way survivors are op is when it's a 3 or 4 man group running prove thyself and boxs. I doubt you've even played killer enough to understand any of this but that's ok that's why we educate the uneducated.

Lol ok buddy. If u say so!

I mean, maybe I do come off as a little entitled. I was just saying that maybe we should try to find a fix for tunneling instead of introducing dlc perks that bandaid fix tunneling (BT, DS, Unbreakable, Break out, power struggle).

I mean, I know I am not entitled to an escape. But when the killer is able to get all 3 hooks on me in under a minute because my teammate got unsafe hooks and I got punished for it, I think there is a problem that needs to be addressed. Whether that be a counter to tunneling, or a counter to teammates farming you for unsafe unhooks.

And I wanted to hear everyone's ideas in the comments, because there were some aspects I hadn't thought of. Such as punishing the survivor who went for the unsafe unhook, rather than the killer who is playing smart. I care about others input, which is why I have responded to almost every post in here that I think I can add my input too, while trying to see things that can be both fair and effective.

But hey, maybe I am just an entitled, biased survivor main! I mean, I'd have to be to believe that tunneling is detrimental to an individuals fun and the balance of the game.

But I would like to hear your input on this. In all honesty, do you prefer the second chance perks because they add a sorta... Spice and choice to each interaction? You gotta gamble if they have DS, gotta worry about unbreakable if you slug, so on and so forth? Or do you simply not think there is a serious problem, and I am maybe just... On a bad luck streak the past few games?

I don't think tunnelling is a problem. It IS a problem for entitled survivor.

But becuz its not a problem, there is no fix for it.

But becuz entitled survivors complain, they give u band-aid fixes.

It is a big deal to me, and to the pipping system. That person did not deserve to escape, forgive me for using the d word.

I don't need to be deserved to escape. This game isn't purely skill.

The information in that video is incorrect. If this video came out 5 months ago, yes he is right. But the devs already changed how the hatch spawns. Which is exactly what that YouTuber suggested.

With the Ruin/Undying meta and tons of tracking perks this perk is in desperate need a buff. 3 charges with no way to replenish them when you can't control when it goes off? It would be a great perk to use against Ruin + Undying.

Maybe 4 tokens and add 5 more seconds per token.

But being able to replenish it is too much.

Just combine it w sole survivor.

  • @OctaviusK said:

This stems from it being an asymmetrical game. Each side is distinctly different from each other and that people tend to stick to one faction. So people that play both are quite rare. In reality those people have the clearest vision. They know that tunneling is annoying having been tunneled as a survivor but also understand it's necessary to do it as killer when your in a sticky situation.

Same thing for gen-rushing. To survivors it's extremely annoying to have someone not do gens so survivors aplause people that do it, killers are frustrated by this however because they can't play the game. Also note that Gen-Rushing is when gens are more important that saving or when it's finished and the counter doesn't update. Essentially when survivors just don't care and focus exclusively on them.

Also its not that survivors want quick games it's that its efficient to have one or more people on generators at all times. This causes gens to get completed really quickly because survivors aim to have at least one person on gens at all time to maximise efficiency it's not because they're toxic.

Another common thing killers do is slug, this helps slow a game down and give them some pressure as a survivor ands incredibly annoying just crawling on the floor and waiting to be healed.

This game is incredibly toxic because generally both sides dont play the other. If they did then only the truly toxic people that just want to be mean would remain.

I also like to say something about the typical perk combos

Undying/Ruin: This is lower survivor efficiency and buy more time for the killer. It's not toxic and requires some luck and skill to pull off.

DS/UB: This is a precaution to stop tunneling and Slugging all together. This isn't meant to be toxic but it has side affects like making you annoying to deal with, I agree this is annoying but it's the design of the perks not the player.

I hope this clears some stuff up ^^

The truth is, killers do play survivors.

But there's lots of survivors who barely plays killers. Or not at all.

They have the loudest voice and think the game is unfair. They are entitled and don't even know.

  • I played all day today and haven't encountered a ruin/undying.

  • I played all day today and haven't encountered ruin/undying.

  • @Adamant_Tepig said:

Now I'm probably missing some, but I've seen these as complaints quite a bit. Feel free to add the bunches I'm missing please and thank you. The purpose of this topic is so I can put together all the common topics that can be filed under 'complaints'.

    -Keys and Moris

    -DS/Unbreakable

    -Ruin/Undying

-Certain maps (If it's Midwich you hate I'm with you on that)

    -Killers facecamping with malicious intent

    -Certain killers dubbed boring

And those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head. I'm more hoping the devs can focus on making animations better, but nyeh. I won't go breathing down their neck about it. That list they've mentioned is probably the size of the Nile River (in which case devs, don't sweat it, I'll be a bit more lenient).

My only gripe w this game are the entitled survivors who are entitled to escape. And don't realize they are entitled.

If it's not 'fair', it should be nerfed. If it's 'boring', it should be nerfed, if it's 'toxic', it should be nerfed.

Survivors wants to handicap the killer and escape cuz it makes them feel better.

Shouldn't be playing dbd w emotions and feelings.

BT doesn't save me when another survivor goes for a safe unhook. I am bad at hitting the DS skillchecks as on console, the skillcheck causes an FPS drop. Camaraderie is extremely niche, and doesn't stop the killer from tunneling. And breakdown could work, but most maps have hooks that are too close together for breakdown to do anything but waste both me and the killer's time. Also, shouldn't have to run a build with 4 DLC perks to counter tunneling.

U do realize ur comments makes u a entitled survivor right?

  • Why can't just run BT, DS, Camaraderie, Breakdown?

There's times I'm unhooked in front of the exit game, immediately whacked and re-hooked on that same spot.

That immediate re-hook on that same spot is the annoying part as it's too fast.

Doesn't give other survivors to heal and be chased away out of the exit gate.

  • It wasn't like that before. But suddenly she doesn't look human. Maybe next killer should be a mannequin. Or like the movie wax.

Unless w undying, but is it really worth all those perk slots? ...

  • The entire game is "game breaking". Therefore, trying to nerf something can't be justified cuz it's considered "game breaking".

All it does is create threads and ppl argue over stupid stuff. Why or why isn't something is ground breaking.

Ppl need to stop typing and just go play the game.

  • This is a rant about killer nerfs.

U being bored of a killer doesn't justify a nerf to that killer.

Skill isn't required and doesn't justify a nerf to a perk. Otherwise many perks would just disappear becuz it doesn't require skill.

Mine as well play w no perks since skill is required to justify a perks existence.... According to ur logic.

If I was in a team, it use to be upwards of 30 mins on the PS4.

    Xbox one was slightly better.

PC... Well idk, I didn't play the PC version that much back in those days. At least not at all times of the day and night to give accurate wait times.

Are you an aggressive or passive player? That gives me a clear reason for your escape percent. I still think the change was fine you can still use it in impossible skill check builds lol.

I do not think survivor who are op, nor am I lucky. I consider myself a good killer. That's it.

The average killer wants kills handed to them and hasn't played when survivors truly were op.

I can be both depending on how the killer and my team is.

Because it's a fantasy world. People don't have the nerve to act that way towards another person in real life. In DBD, they have to tools to play god with someone and suffer no repercussions. And unlike real sports, there is nobody telling them to be good sportsmen. Me maybe, but I get ridiculed for that, and then people wonder why this community is so toxic.

They're contradicting themselves just to make you mad. They cannot possibility believe in their minds "It's just a game" when they're using it to fuel their online bullying addiction. And they have no place talking about skill at all, yours or theirs, because they're using legalized cheating (SWF) and the strongest perks.

But it's fun bullying the killer ...

I have way more others in killer than 100. Also it is only pubs not tournaments otherwise survivors are not op. Pub survivors are dog ######### which is why solo is complained about sooo much. Pop is still good, thana works on legion and plague, Lullaby wasn't even nerfed if you understand the change, mori was objectively op. I don't want survivors to escape 50% lol.

I already escape about 50% of my games. Lullaby is a nerf depending on which killer is using it as the change was putting a restriction on it.

If survivors are not OP to u, than ur the lucky few who can kill survivors at high ranks.

The average killer cannot do that.

  • New players will be punished no matter what. Mori is irrelevant. That's how dbd is designed. The tutorial is a joke.

    I'm not arguing about matchmaking.

This game needs more killers. It doesn't need more survivors.

We will just agree that u believe, that mori nerf is a necessary change. Even though mori is pretty much useless now. Might be used for memes.

I believe that mori nerf wasn't necessary. But I understand why they nerfed it. Don't agree w it. But oh well, I just feel bad for killers as I am a survivor main.

I'll be mad and upset if they nerf the keys. I really like keys.

  • Does anyone know if u can report survivors who tells the killer of ur location?

Like a survivor who leads the killer around so all the survivors die.

Than as a appreciation, the killer let's the pet survivor go.

  • Can we be friends? I'd like to go hide in that locker. I could do a Feng cosplay.

  • @TragicSolitude said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1817566#Comment_1817566

I'm saying matchmaking is the biggest problem in the game right now. If matchmaking worked as it should, things would be a lot different. Right now, players are basing their opinions on what the game needs on the in-game experiences they're having, but that's flawed because the game shouldn't be playing out like this at all. A rank 17 killer shouldn't have red rank survivors in their lobby. Until this problem—which effects a large number of matches and ruins a lot of players' experiences with the game—is fixed, trying to balance the game with the perspectives we players currently have is impossible. It really is.

Moris were not only used against super-powered SWFs. Moris were used against solo survivors. That's one of the problems with having extremely strong things in the game: they may seem necessary against strong players, but when they're used against weak players and freaking stomp them into the ground and make them miserable, then it's not good.

The devs can't nerf comms. That's not possible. And they've said they won't nerf SWF because that would basically be punishing people for playing with friends; they refuse to do that. What the devs are working on is buffing solo survivors so that they're on more even footing with SWF, and then the devs will be able to adjust killers accordingly.

There's still nothing wrong w using mori vs weak players. If they weak, means they're probably new. I'm sure the animation is cool to look at.

Entitled survivors main complaint is camping, tunnelling, and slugging.

  • I'm not sure. But I know the indoor maps has barely any fog no matter what u use.

It seems like there's a cap on how much fog is generated.

What's w the obsession (can't think of a better term atm) about fogs though?

  • The thing is, u really need to play killer for a 100 hours straight to understand survivors are severely OP.

Otherwise, killers are just too strong and needs a nerf.

On top of the already nerfed thanataphobia, POP, doctor, Billy, lullaby, mori, etc.

U mine as well make it so nerfed that most survivors have a 50% of escaping.

  • @TragicSolitude said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1817538#Comment_1817538

I was just pointing out that you implied moris were a necessary mechanic that substituted for getting better at the game. The devs outright said one of the reason moris were nerfed is because they feel that no offering should have such a drastic effect on gameplay.

As a survivor, some matches with a mori were fine. If the killer didn't start mori'ing survivors until everyone had been hooked at least once, then it wasn't too bad. However, in the matches where someone would get off the hook and immediately get mori'd (and that was most matches with a mori), it wasn't even worth playing. If I saw a survivor get mori'd straight off the hook, I would just suicide the first time I was hooked so I could move on. (Unless the killer actually had a cool mori, then I'd stick around for it. But that was rare.) That's not good gameplay. That's crap. Solo survivor is usually a miserable experience and the old moris made it worse. 90% of the time I absolutely hate playing survivor.

The problem with the game is not that it needs one-hook moris. The problem with the game is that matchmaking is absolute garbage and will throw any and all skill-levels together if queue times get too long, putting killers up against survivors way out of their league and vice versa. That needs to be fixed, and it needs to be fixed yesterday; it's ridiculous this is still going on, but here we are.

So ur main complaint is mori or matchmaking? Or both? If both what's more important?

I already know lots of ppl will disagree w me. But here's my thing.

I would say mori is the somewhat counter to a top playing swf team.

If mori is nerfed, swf comms need to be nerfed as well. Comms plus 16 perks is meta, extremely OP.

Survivors are NOT suppose be OP. Killers ARE suppose to be OP.

But the entitled survivor will say otherwise. And claim they played killer before and that somehow their judgement is 'fair'.

There's nothing fair about dbd. It will never be fair. U know how they say never say never? Well I'm saying NEVER.

Dbd will never be fair. It is not a fair game. It's not even a fun game.

  • I do all bones now. Half the games I clear all bones on my own. Even on midwich.

It really sucks now for killers who tries to use NOED or other ruin perks.

If the game goes to the end, I almost always clear it.

Been working totems so much, some maps I don't even need a map or perks. I already know where it's at.

  • I still don't understand what the mommy and baby's power is. I see the mommy as a normal killer. But than I see Chucky running around the field and hopping onto ppl.

The shock I went thru when i saw Chucky hold onto the locker door as I'm trapped inside the locker in the basement.

I didn't know what was going on, by the time I pressed R1, the mommy came and I got whacked to death .... #########?

"Just have to get good or play survivor."

    "Just have to get good"

Okay, c'mon man, whatever my or anyone's opinion may be on the mori nerf, you destroy your own argument right there. No game mechanic is supposed to be an automatic win that bypasses getting better at the game. That would be horrible. Maybe that's not what you meant to say, but it is what you said, and it actually supports the belief that the mori nerf was necessary.

Mori is not a automatic win. I've brought mori as insurance just in case cuz I sensed the players in the lobby looked like toxic pros. And I'm not a lobby dodger as killer. I am a lobby dodger as a survivor though.

I got dominated and bullied. Even when I thought I could get 1, I couldn't.

It was frustrating, embarrassing, and stressful. They were absolute pros. This is after I got 'good' and hit my limit.

This is with bringing the pink mori.

I don't need the stress. With my hair up performing at 110% every game sucks.

How many more hours do I need to put into this game to 'get good'?

Being good is not a requirement. Mori is fine. Even if u want to call it a 'free win', that is fine too.

The argument that u just have to get good is not really a arguement. How good a person suppose to get?

This game is randomized and requires some luck. On top of the skill.

Mori nerf was not necessary. But it was necessary to make certain ppl happy.

  • Dead by daylight is a game where if ur a noob, killers are scary.

Once u get good, killers are no longer scary. But u end up being scared of other survivors.

  • I want a refund. I should of just used it all up when I had the chance.

Mori's are good for toxic swf teams. Now there's no counter play. Just have to get good or play survivor.

  • We can't be nerfing keys. Nerfing mori to this degree is way too much and such a crap move no matter how u defend it.

But let's not nerf keys. It's my only escape.

  • @sulaiman said:

Well, play killer then and show them how its done. Tell us about your experience after 50 games at red rank, how about that?

    Exactly this!

  • Only way to be accurate is to write down every time u are not camped or tunneled. Otherwise u will "feel" like u are being camped and tunneled all the time.

There's also the issue of too many survivors think they are tunneled when really they are not.

  • Something similar. I was the last survivor. I was carried by a hag. But I was hovering way higher than usual after she picked me up. Like floating in the air.

She couldn't get me off. Couldn't drop me or hook me. She just carried me every where until I got disconnected.

I was really bummed out I was disconnected. It was weird and funny. I was the last one alive and I had 3crows above me eventually.

The game went on like that for about probably 3 -4 mins.

otherwise it’s just your opinion like many others in this game. Stop trying to justify something that doesn’t exist

killers are just trying to kill

survivors are just trying to survive

And if you actually weren’t so biased you would know that toxic people play both sides what makes you the noob is that you cant see that.

That's what I been saying the whole time. Just play the game for what it is.

I have opinions, yes, but there's some truth to my opinions.

Can you point to where this rule book is? Like the website?

You talk about survivors complaining about tunneling and camping and you make a good point some people do.

but if you scroll through the forums l think you will find killers crying and whining about DS and BT. You call out DS but sometimes it’s a valid strategy to use it.

the difference is survivors usually use in game chat to talk #########, killers come straight to the forums to do it.

take your killer goggles off and realize the game has toxic people on both sides.

It is not equal. If u really devote enough time into killer. U will understand that survivors are toxic. Killers are just trying to kill and many of them do follow the invisible rulebook. If u don't know where this 'book' is. U are a noob.

Dead by daylight is not a fun game. It is a frustrating, stressful, and addictive game.

You don't seem to grasp that it isn't going to truly matter in the end just like the Mori change.

I do nothing but play killer, and I watch plenty of high skill survivor play just to get into the minds of them.

If you have this much trouble then you're just screwed - or you need to stop playing solo and get a team together; otherwise no matter what you do you're not going to have a good game.

Especially if you depend on the hatch in most games, then you just need to stop playing solo or just get more used to playing that way to the point you can almost always get a guaranteed out; which is most likely never.

I'm still playing solo. Unless ur going to play w me ...

I am a survivor 99% and 1%killer. I'm loving all the killer nerfs but it's really sad what they are doing to the killers. Cuz the voice of the majority are the survivors who have a mob mentality. Where ur suppose to kill ... Even the name

    Death is not an escape.

    It just blows my mind.

I was Bill and you were Wraith. As the last survivor I waited for you sweetly at the Hatch to communicate GG. I was crouched submissively and dropped my med-kit. You closed the Hatch and sacrificed me to the Entity.

2 games later, I was Bill and you were Pig. I saw you crouching slowly towards me while I worked on a gen. I came off the gen and crouched over towards you to sweetly give you boop snoots. You downed me and sacrificed me to the Entity.

I hold no ill will, but for those screaming all survivors are toxic- really? I've been such a nice survivor this year, I hope Santa sends me some luck as I cry in the Fog 😭

No one said all survivors are toxic. But survivors are toxic. This is in general. Generally speaking, survivors are toxic. The norm is that survivors are more toxic than killers.

No one said 'all', but the dramatic ones. And ppl laugh at me all the time becuz they don't understand the concept of using 'all' and not using 'all'. A general statement does not mean 'all'.
