Since they don't have any competition, they're basically allowed to get away with all this nonsense. But thankfully we won't let them
I wish lol, they won't stop. They have no competition and have no reason, you could count Idenity V which is a but more mobile focused. Unfortunately they won't change and I don't have hope that they will.

If you want you could combine this with DS to guarantee your safety... But then it would be uncounterable... So don't.
If you go to dying state before getting Second Wind heal, the perk is deactivated. So it's not uncounterable with DS.
Thats why the DS. If you get picked up run away no heal but it becomes uncounterable, either the killler lets you heal or you use DS.

I've always thought Second Wind was a good perk. It saves a lot of time that some don't realize. Getting healed while working on a generator can be a game-changer in a few scenarios. The new buff will just make it even better hehe. 8/10 of a perk from me.
Exactly! If a 5 second stun changes the game imagine a 16 second time saver! That means instead of two people out of the game for 32 seconds it's cut down to 16 seconds. It's pretty big imo, lets see if people recognize it's strength.

Calling it game breaking may be a bit much. Unfair? Yes, but it doesn't break the game.
The fact that so many totem spots like that made it through is quite embarressing for BHVR. Given that they've been attempting to fix all the bugs from the last chapter release.
Which I made a list for, and the total amount of bugs it came out to was roughly 150 if I remember correctly.
It can be game-breaking if you brought Ruin and a high mobility killer. If you apply pressure no gens are going to get done or maybe it's Devour Hope then say goodbye to losing as long as you can do basic killer stuff.

Haha, yeah.
Bots, a good matchmaking(I get Champions and I am the lowest tier hunter yet the match feels fair), lots of unique killers. Yet the devs focus on the Chinese Server so Na/Eu and Asia gets ignored.
Yeah this is a very out the blue post! Haha.

Hm... I don't know, sounds more like you might have gotten a little too excited about this, if it got you laughing. Perhaps consider that you're suffering from projection as a defense mechanism of some kind. This is just something I've been trying to work out recently. If you don't agree, please find an actual reason for your disagreement, instead of merely describing how the perk works. I can read that in game or on a wiki.
If you could actually read what the perk does you wouldn't be arguing.
Anyways, BBQ is a terrific perk that is meant to stop camping. If a killer camps then its your teams fault everyone died, do gens and escape. In that scenario the killer gets a small boost in BP and only one hook. So don't be altruistic gen-rush the soul out of the killer. Make him scream in Post-Chat and then relish in your relief as a filthy killer got almost no BP.
If the killer leaves the hook then you can rescue and then bring DS to counter these poor souls.
If this issue is extremely common then bring DS and BT.
BBQ also isnt that great a tracking perk, it can only activate 12 times a game each for only 3-4 seconds. On some maps it's really hard to see auras, the extra BP is just a nice touch to ease the grind. WGLF was a perk I ran alot, just because the double BP helped alot, it's buff has made it really good at recovering from slugging killers or snow-balling killers.
I'm sorry, but I don't understand your point of view. The tracking BBQ offers is decent but not amazing and the extra BP is a nice touch that everyone appreciates.
-
Hahaha, I actually laughed at your little rant. Calm down, a frustrating match is due to Bums who just play to rub their wins in others faces or ruin others day. Fortunately the media and the mind exaggerates the trouble-makers making it seem like they're everywhere. In reality they aren't.
Also BBQ is a terrific perk, it forces killers to hook different survivors so tunneling leads to BP Bonus loss, and camping also means no double Bloodpoints.
BBQ also isn't a terrible effective perk either, it has limit to it's Tracking, it can only be used 12 times a game and it only lasts for a couple seconds it also shows far away people so you need to waste time getting to them.
Sorry, but I don't think your rant... Makes any sense. Next time, target Undying and how much fluff it has. Bye!

You've clearly gone over the in-game toxicity topic, but what about the Official Discord Server toxic members who literally make people leave the server? Or actually manipulate moderation to troll people? Or all the bull crap going on in the voice chats? It's so toxic in the official server that thousands of small DBD servers were started just to get away from the toxicity!
I've never heard of this? Do you mind explaining?

Well, just played the map as survivor, and it seemed very good to me. run smoothly, and i didnt have any issues with too few pallets, they seemed just fine to me.
But i really have to test the map as killer. I am colorblind, and ormond was the worst map there is. I couldn´t see auras , not even gens or hooks on that map. But a lot of the map reworkes made the auras clear enough for me to see without filter, so i hope the same is true for ormond.
Even though i still have a problem with blood and scratch marks, not even seening gens where the worst.
Aw, that must suck. I know hoe you feel, on a lesser level. I swear the scratch marks are popping in and I run right by them. I turn around and then I see them, too late their at another pallet.
Also the argument the devs provide is stupid. Scratch Marks are meant to be visible so it doesn't matter if non-colorblind players use it. Stick up for ya self! :)

How do you stay hidden against a killer with a 16m TR (that plays even smaller because his spins up quietly) while also doing objectives? Seems to me it's Spine Chill / Premonition / OoO or bust.
Isn't a 24 meter terror radius? Also again if you ever get in a chase get out of it. If you see him coming to you run off and hide. Just stay out of sight. Run Iron-Will a general good perk against any killer. I agree he needs some tweaking but like not too big.

@[Deleted User] said:

How do you counter zoning?
You can't. So... Stay hidden. DeathSlinger is designed to be oppresive in chase and terrible and finding people and applying map pressure. So stay hidden. If you are forced into a chase then you need to break LoS as much as possible, you need to avoid being in a chase with him. So, when in chase you want to escape and leave chase.
-
Eh, as a wise person said.
"He is a bounty hunter, so just like his lore stay hidden and out of sight or you'll be brought back to jail"
Deathslinger is unique because he encourages pallets to be pre-thrown survivors to hide etc. He requires a different playstyle, thats not to say you can't loop him normally you can, but if you do. You'll have to take into consideration of a lot of things. To counter deathslinger you Gen Rush and make as much distance as possible. His chsin is only 18 meters. So pre-throwing pallets is quite effective.
He's a uniqur killer that gets way too much beef.
-
Hey another Mobile Gamer! Also no lol don't abuse it.

There wouldn't be any point gameplay-wise. It also wouldn't be very immersive for the bloodthirsty killer chasing you to suddenly start jamming to the DBD menu theme.
So? This is a game. It's meant for you to have fun. If I could listen to Wraith bing-bonging the theme I'd have a lot of fun.
Not everything has to match a brutal ruthless killer, it's a game. Games are meant for you to have fun. Even if doesn't do anything as long as it doesn't hinder the killer I think it would be a lovely addition.

Thank you for taking the time to explain it, I appreciate it. As I said I've faced him easily less than ten times so I didn't have the faintest idea of how it worked. I was confused as to how it applied Deep Wound or not.
If you have any more questions feel free to ask me!

@adirgeforthedead said:
Personally, I have nothing against The Deathslinger. I don't play as him and I rarely face him so I don't have any real reason to hate on people who play as him. I wish he was a bit more common to figure out how to counter him more effectively... still up to this point I don't understand how breaking the chain works... sometimes I break it and I get no damage, others I break it and I get deep wound inflicted others I don't break it and I still get deep wound inflicted so it's really confusing to me.
Tunnelling Deathslingers and camping Deathslingers are horrible to face against whatsoever. If people use him like that, it's fault of the players and not of the Killer himself.
The damage you take is dependant on the Deathslinger. The deathslinger can lunge even when he has you speared, doing this breaks the chain. When you don't take damage its because DS lunged and broke the chain, you take damage if the deathslinger lets the chain break and endures a 4 sec stun.
-
No... His lore is his weakness.
He is a bounty hunter so hiding is the bets rhing against him taking away his instant ADS kills him unless you give him insane map pressure food survivors will win most of the time. Deathslinger has no map pressure but oppressive chase. He is currently is fine where he is right now.
Another weakness is genrushing so...

Why? Killers are strong enough as it is. Bubba can literally chase you entirely through a sprint burst at this point.
Personally Killers aren't that strong, eveyr Bubba I meet I can loop for a good while because either their trash or nah not me being good. Bubba relys on mistakes to catch you otherwise just throw down pallets and yeet to to the next one you can't realy preserve pallets so you need to make distance and gen-rush.
-

-
@Waffleyumboy said:
I guess that would make killers a lot stronger in chase.
I assume it may, if the time to build up momentum is to high. It should in theory be a 1.25 seconds to go from running stop running again. And when you stop for 5 seconds 1.89? Just small increases and slow downs. I hope it isn't big enough to be abusable and should only be actually noticable by high tiers with massive brains.
-
This is ironically why Borrowed Time exists. To counter camping killers or escape the basement.
-
@ZaKzan said:
It is so ironic that people will call a killer boring because that killer doesn't allow them to beeline to the nearest tile, loop it, throw the pallet, then rinse and repeat for the next tile.
It's so amazing that people actually argue for more static and mindless play rather than more dynamic and thoughtful play.
If your thinking this is my intention then your wrong. I heard that people disliked Deathslinger. I asked why and recieved answers like they hate this instant ads. So I went to work on making this, it ended up horrible because I barely got any real info. I didn't ask about counters, I neglected to try and learn about other opinions on him.
So sorry, and stop assuming things. The community needs to have some faith in each other if we want to be better and less toxic.

Apologies from me too.
However the most vocal hate Deathslinger is getting always centers around how he is 'boring and unfun to face, because he cannot be engaged in chases and cuts them and looping short' and how he thus 'has no counterplay because he's is so overpowered in chases because he can instashoot and there is nothing to avoid that and you can only hope he misses'. And usually when people name stealth as counterplay, the same voices declare that 'but chases are the very core of the game and the most fun and thus deathslinger should be removed because...' etc
I agree! Personally the thrill and excitement of stealth is on par with chases. But if you try to be stealthy your teammates will blame you for being useless and not doing gens.

No? I meant that not all maps will have blockers so out in the opens your easy pickings.

@[Deleted User] said:
I liked your first and third idea. I didn't like the second point because for me it doesn't make any sense punishing a killer for getting hits. The speed boost you get after getting hit is already enough to be outside of the range of the Redeemer (unless he has STBFL).
But nice ideas anyway :)
Thanks! I was trying to counter the hit reel in and hit again. Maybe a slower chain speed would've worked better?

I am sorry for the way I went about addressing you. Genuinely sorry.
It's fine! Smile and move on! The two sides need to have a reason to move closer to ecaher other. My only idea is to get rid of any importance of winning. Or letring players rate your fun, the second easily abusable.

Not at the cost of trying to make a unique and FUN to play killer just like every other killer. Instant ads accuracy takes skill and is still easily missed in even the most skilled hands. Giving it a nearly 1 second time along with a sound cue would make it useless. I don't want anymore useless powers on 115 killers. It's un-fun. Just run line of sight blockers as often as possible. Why? Because instant shots aren't instant. The killer has to predict your movement and take time to match it while lining up his ads IN HIS HEAD to hit you reliably. Running line of site blockers for even a second makes him have to restart this calculation. Many Survivors keep me from even risking a shot just by going from tree to tree as long as they're not easily predictable.
You pose this as a "give and take" but it's just a way to make him more like the killers you already know how to outplay.
Rather than try to form a game to your skills under the "fun" guise. Learn his counterplay. Hell, if this thread was asking for counterplay advice us slinger mains would give you a plethora of ways we're foiled.
So no thanks. I'm good at 110 and unique and unique fun gameplay. I've got enough generic 115 to pick from for mindless looping.
Im sorry! I was on the forums and it seemed like people hated going against him, so I asked why received why answer and made this! Im not trying to make him infinitely loopable! It's quite annoying that the forums immediately bounce everything back to survivors just wanting to indefinitely loop, no wonder this communtity is so toxic. No one trusts each other or has any sort of faith.
I'm sorry if this was stupid or absolute mess, if I may ask what is some counterplay against Deathslinger? This would have been a good step towards making this rebalance!
Again sorry!

the counterplay for deathslinger is stealth. I know a lot of people absolutely loathe the idea of having a killer that they can't loop endlessly, but his counterplay is in his backstory. He's been a bounty hunter, so the best his bounty (the survivors in this) can do is lay low, hide and get everything they need to do to get their behinds out of there safely without him catching on.
And I agree, taking away the semi-insta shoots would break him. Some people have advocated to give him as much a delay as huntress, which would make the entire ability of the redeemer useless, cause people would be out of range before he can shoot.
Honestly: I maintain the opinion that people are simply calling for tweaks and nerfs on him cause they refuse to change their gameplay from 'engage in endless looping while the others do gens' that they try to apply to every killer, regardless of abilities.
True, most survivors want to be able to loop forever. So maybe this was pointless, but after all if a killer or perk ain't fun then I say it needs to be adjusted this game should be fun.

The parts I didn't like we're the generator effects, and the increased ADS after hitting. It becomes Nurse syndrome: Making a killer harder to play doesn't remove the core issue.
With these changes, Slinger would play more like an m1 killer, which would be good for overall balance, but the new play would become STBFL Redeemer-into-m1, which is already an extremely strong play but is currently as a 110 killer. This nullifies the effect of the increased ADS after hitting, and practically becomes a ranged instadown. Plus, Slinger doesn't kick gens that much, so it might be overkill to give him that ability as well.
Edit: I should clarify, the increased post-hit ADS would force that to be the only play, which while difficult is still strong
Yeah, no matter how hard nurse is nerfed her power is still there. Well maybe I didn't think this through enough! But that won't stop me I'm tackling Legion next with a rework! Lets see how this on flops!

There is counterplay against Deathslinger. You can't dodge a shot directly but you can move in such a way as to maximize the chance that the Deathslinger will miss their shot. Someone who moves tactically is less likely to be hit than someone who doesn't. Just because you can't 100% dodge something doesn't mean there's no counterplay.
The counterplay you mentioned is a bit weird in my perspective.
You can't dodge the shoots directly, moving in a odd path is just letting him catch up stopping it lets him shoot.
