  • There definitely should be a timer in games. If you three gen yourself, that's your problem. And yes, many a survivor game I've been part of a 3 gen. I've never said, "damn this killer for 3 genning us". It was our fault for not paying better attention.

Yes, I agree with you. The problem I have with it, is that it’s a fallback position when you’ve been outplayed. By selecting better perks, you can outplay the survivors. I have no problem with other stuff like haunted ground, or devour hope. Those are better than NOED, BBQ and chili is a better perk than NOED. It’s really just a cheap way to hook probably one guy, and then maybe get a second who is overly-altruistic. Against a good team, it only nets a max of one kill...usually.

Yeah, but the rest of the game you're playing with just 3 perks, so it stands to reason that survivors would have a better chance to make it to end game in the first place. Noed is basically just reverse Corrupt Intervention.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2008833#Comment_2008833

Yes, just not NOED. It’s pathetic, and not very fun as a killer. Very unfulfilling to get your rear end kicked all game, and then manage to screw 1-2 guys with NOED at the end. Much more fulfilling to beat them throughout the match.

If the devs altered it properly to make it more legitimate, I might run it. When I was a beginner, I used it until I realized just how pathetic it is.

I see what your saying, but couldn't one make the argument that you only win games because of the perks you choose to run? Why is noed any different? If anything I'd argue that Noed isn't even a strong killer perk.

  • @JediWithASniper said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2008729#Comment_2008729

Yup. It sure does. If you need it to win, then you are a weak killer. I have thousands of hours in the game, and the good killers do not use it.

Do you run perks on your killers?

  • Honestly. It would be nice if Noed wqs basekit. It would lengthen the game or you could forgo cleansing all 5 totems and just take your chances during endgame.

Also, I don't run Noed, but don't let anyone try to shame you for using a perk in the game. You're absolutely right. Survivors use strong perks all the time. Killers should be able to do the same without getting hate mail for it. Noed isn't overly strong anyway.

The grind is seriously holding this game back. I've had multiple people tell me the reason they've quit or won't touch the game in the first place is the grind. It's 2021 and this isn't a vertical progression MMORPG in the first place. The grind is absolutely absurd for a p2play MMO, let alone a buy to play pvp game. Remove. The. Perk. Tiers.

That's why I don't push my real life friends to play. Period. Toxicity issues and balance issues are things I know my friends would just go along with because it's online gaming. The fact that they would have to grind so hard just to get a half way decent build. Nah. My friends are all married with children. They don't have time for that sort of grind.

This map proves once and for all the game is intended only for survivor fun and killer is treated like an A.I. There’s absolutely nothing most killers can do here other than follow survivors around like a big dumb cartoon villain and get pallet after pallet dropped on their head. You only get a hit if the survivor makes a mistake (but lets all cry about spirit), but considering just how damn safe the pallets are it has to be a HUGE mistake, we’re talking people not even paying attention to the game.

The first chase on this map can easily be 3 gens worth, easily. Because you just throw every pallet safely and don’t get greedy and there’s very few positions where the killer can attempt any kind of trickery. Not like it’s even worth breaking off a chase because you’re going to be hindered by safe/god pallets no matter what.

It’s that bad I go afk now on this map. Imagine that a map so bad there’s literally no reason to play it unless you’re using Nurse or maybe Hag. There’s no fun, enjoyment or any kind of gameplay here for 90%+ of the characters available.

I can’t believe people actually designed this, approved this and put it out. Is nobody at Behaviour ever questioned on the performance of their work? I’m genuinely curious as to how that company works internally.

Yeah, I'm not one of these, "whoever designed this should be fired" kind of guys. But maybe reprimanded or moved to a different position in the company wouldn't be a bad move. This was just a huge swing and miss. A real head scratcher.

So The Game good old Gideon meat plant... is it even fun i've played on it both Killer and Survivor and well it's not fun is it just me like listen i'm fine with the new look the major references in it but well my main problem is the breakable walls when you play killer there's so many areas that screw you over like a generator on the other side that's almost done you need to go around or break the wall and for survivor you can get trapped easily like i see they wanted to make it "fair" for both sides but it's not killer or survivor sided it's what call anger sided since there's four god pallets (if you count the bathroom if the generator wasn't complete) and areas where you can say oh no i'm screwed and saying loop around windows and such that doesn't work the areas where windows are may be big but there's only one entrance I know the old game map had the same thing some areas were dead zones with one opening but now everywhere is a dead zone with the middle just being a massive open area with two unsafe gens.

    Looks nice, but terrible design.

Yeah I get the feeling there are a lot of kids online during these times and we all know playing with angry children is about as crappy as it gets.

I had a group this weekend. Sent me to the meat plant. All 4 had some combo of these 6 perks; Iron Will, DS, DH, Unbreakable, Soul Guard, and deliverance). Key, ranger medkit with instaheal. It actually wasn't as bad as I thought, but they did all get out. No big deal.

After the game of course, I got gg ez baby killer. I laughed actually because I was actually having mostly good games besides that one. But to your point, more than likely I was playing against some teenagers.

It really would be nice to have a filter on games to play with adults only. Adults obviously can be jerks too (I have been plenty), but I'm guessing the majority of my hate mail is from teens or younger that can't take a loss with dignity or win with grace.

Again, not to say I've been perfect either, but it can definitely get old getting hated or laughed on for just trying to play a game on your spare time.

Sure, yeah. You know I'm wrong with nothing to show for it. :)

Nobody has agreed with you on this. You're on an island. People are literally telling you that you're incorrect as stated by the devs, but nope you definitely had it happen recently. Sure bud.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1997386#Comment_1997386

I'm talking about the odds to get the map are considerable... per the actual offering description...

You don't have to believe me, I don't really care what you believe, but I have no reason to lie about it. Just because you haven't personally experienced it doesn't make it untrue.

I don't think you're lying. I just know you're wrong. It's not a big deal though. We're all wrong sometimes.

  • i use it. I like it better than nurses.

  • @thefallenloser said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1997350#Comment_1997350

I'm not. The offering itself says considerable. I have had multiple personal experiences and made multiple observations of the realm offering not taking effect when played alone. Just because it is unlikely does not make it impossible. :|

One: no offense, but again I don't believe you. It's never happened one time for me, so why would I be the special one where individual map offerings work 100% of time?

Two: let's go on the assumption that I'm just unlucky and you're right. It's still noy considerable odds that the map offerings don't work. If I go to the doctor and he says "you have cancer but don't worry, you have considerable odds to beat it. Yes, less than 1 percent." Well, I think I'd strongly disagree with his definition of considerable.

Again, if 1 player plays Macmillan and one plays the meat plant, yes one of those will not go through. But if one player plays one map offering it will certainly always go through. Without exception.

  • @thefallenloser said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1996627#Comment_1996627

Map offerings aren't guaranteed and never have been. You can burn an offering and not be sent to the map, though it is unlikely. The odds are considerable.

Outside of multiple different map offerings being played, I have always gone to the map that has been played. Always. 100% of the time. Zero exceptions. At this point certainly hundreds if not into the 1000s of games where a map offering has been played.

So I'm going to guess you're mistaken.

This is a great explanation. As a killer, I’d be happy with 8 hooks, 5 completed Gen, so fun chases, & everyone escapes. With BBQ 55-60k BP’s a match. I’d totally be down with that.

Same here. Good game. Maybe I get a 1 k but a boat load of hooks, points, and chases. Add in a black pip. That's all I need.

  • It's a double edged sword. No way tp communicate effectively pre match. This goes both ways. But from the survivor perspective, you don't know if the killer is going to to slug at 5 gens, tunnel the first guy out of the game, camp, or choose some strategy that will significantly hurt the team if you aren't pushing gens. So to avoid a likely loss, you go into the match assuming the killer is going to play like a hard-ass.

Same with killer, many games I lose but also many games I find myself with a quick snowball or just happen upon the low rank survivor that puts them behind the 8ball. If in pregame you could get a vibe against what you're up against it may effect how serious you take the game. That's why killers feel compelled to slug early and that's why survivors ignore totems, chests, often times let their teammates go into phase two if they can crank a couple gens out.

Both sides probably don't want to sweat, but when they don't they often pay for it.

  • Shrek as killer. Get out muh swump!

  • Yeah. Definitely no fun as red rank killer. At one point they said we'd be getting rewarded for it at least. But I guess they thought it was too difficult to program rank rewards.

    I haven't de-pipped, but I've definitely thought about it.

Sounds like the same kind of phenomenon that guarantees you will always be the first to be found and hooked in a match whenever you equip Deliverance. 😁

Lol. When that first perk came out I had the worst luck with that. Like honesty, the first 25 games I ran it I may have used it twice. I'd get so heated every early game.

As a killer I feel bad for the next group I come across when I get bullied. Most of the time I try to play for fun but when I eventually run into a try hard swf group that pisses me off. Me or the people who drove me to use the meta?

Same. I pretty much only play Freddy for dailys or challenges now. But if I get a run on bad games with some of the other killers where they're quite douchey, I slap on the old Fredster with strong add-ons and just slug the ######### out of every body.

This is the average experience if you are an M1 killer, and even with better killers it's still the "press Space bar to break a pallet" experience. Everytime, the first hit on a survivor takes ages. Please, address this.

Played as clown the other day on the meat plant. Zero ######### hooks. Fun time...

If you have a patient who needs 5 OPs you firstly do 1-2 most important once and then the others to not stress the body out!

The same thing here! We asked for ever for DS and OOO nerfes and when devs are finaly willing to do it people like you are complaining about the next thing eventhough the stuff for DS and OOO is not out yet! That makes this comminity look like crybabies who are unsatisfied we everything and will complain about everything.

Like I said I hate Dead Hard. If I could change two perks out of DH, DS and OOO I would change DH and OOO and could live with DS.

But I am happy with the changes that are coming and am trying no to bite the hand that is feeding me! I hope you can udnerstand

Same. DS is strong, don't get me wrong, but I'd rather play a 4 DS squad than. 4 DH squad. Of course often times really you see plenty that run both. But DH is a bear when multiple people are running it.

I just had a game where 3 survivors escaped, but one died to the EGC after trying to loop me.

    Post-game:

Salty Survivor: Doctor toxic. Only [BAD WORD] closes the hatch.

Nevermind that the others escaped or that this person screwed around during the EGC. The Killer is bad for not just rolling over.

Survivors really do just want to play against AI, but they'd just rage at the AI in post-game chat if they get 4K'd.

Yeah I had one the other day where the survivor messaged me something similar. #########, guy, maybe I want to win too. I think your spot on though with the bot comment. Most survivors forget there is an actual human being on the other side. I've been guilty of being toxic as well, but I feel like I've gotten a better understanding of the issues killers face and try to treat them better.

  • Red rank killer game is simply too challenging (for me) at this time. My win condition in 4 bbq stacks. The amount of games where I have to camp my 3rd stack because all 5 gens are done happen way too often.

The reality is survivors have too many resources. Literally though survivors do try to milk each pallet loop, they really don't need to at all. You can literally throw a pallet down and gain distance loop once or twice throw pallet down, gain distance, and repeat. The killer either has to leave you and pressure gens (but then that guy can just do the exact same thing).

Gens will pop quickly and the game ends. I've had a few games lately where survivors have said "gg" and I don't think they're even being disingenuous, but after it's like, "well was it?" That game lasted maybe 6 minutes. What was good about it?

I think in general there needs to be way less pallets. Maybe 8-10 tops. If you're going to have 20-25 like on some maps, then they shouldn't spawn at all. Maybe 3 or 4 pallets spawn after it gets down to 2 gens as a reward, but the killers need some early game pressure. And with 20 pallets plus most players running some sort of exhaustion perk, many to most killers really have issues getting early pressure.

I know I know, "I get 4ks all the time". Sure, play enough and you'll have some easy matches too. But any group of survivors that split up on gens and simply exchange 40-45 second chases, are going to win most matches. And if the games lasted a bit longer and there was more action, at least losing would be kind of fun. As it is now, it's been rough for me post 4.5.2. And from the sounds of it it's been rough for many other killers as well.

So uhh devs... How's that early game mechanic coming along? Because 1/5th of your player base (if not more) really could use it... Any day now.

  • @danielmaster87 said:

The low and mid tier killers can't afford to go for 2-hit chases all match long, so they bring instadown capabilities. There's nothing you can do about it except play safer when you can be 1-shot, so do that.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1975428#Comment_1975428

First I heard of this bug. Never had a 50+ bloodweb not have 4 perks unless I got all the perks already.

I'm p3 all perking up my Hag and Shape and they both had this bug last night. At first I was like, "wow I didn't think I was this close to finishing my Hag up" and sure enough I checked and I still had about 26 green perks to finish up. So maybe it was just a bug with the Hag?

Nope, spent a few on Mikey and the same thing come up again multiple times. Along with OP, my guess is the entity bugged up his bloodweb. Bummer.

  • Yep. Also bloodwebs past level 50 are bugged. They max out at 3 perks to choose from instead of the usual 4. It's not a huge deal I suppose, but I'll have to keep on eye on things to see if it stops letting me choose perks like it has for you.

How the hell does the bloodweb get bugged?

  • Also hopping in, but playing red rank killer is not fun at all. I understand why players want to derank.

This game desperately needs a ranked mode and a casual mode. I just hate playing enough to be in red ranks only to get housed. And I don't think I'm particularly playing terribly. Some games yes. And all games mistakes are made, but jesus what a miserably unfun experience.

It's not unwinnable, but most games are just boring. Way too many pallets. Way too many people running Dead Hard. Gens pop super fast. It sucks. I just want fun games. Don't need to win every game.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/229846/stop-trying-to-kobe-before-a-save

First off you should have unhooked them, they dont learn anything by staying on hook, they learn by dying instantly on 2nd hook. You didnt include rank info so might have been a newer player

As for why someome would do this i can come up with a couple reasons.

    1. The timer was going to go to 2nd stage anyways, they may have also just misjudged the timer and thought that incorrectly.

    2. Going for the achievement for self unhooks, and misjudged the timer. Running slippery meat is a waste of a perk slot and i dont have deliverance, so the best way to go for this is right before a rescue.

That's pretty dumb gameplay though. Making another survivor stop what they're doing, run acrosse the map, just so you can kobe in their face. Just so you can get an achievement?

I used to get much more annoyed at the kobe in front of my face things. Now it's just whatever to me, but also your line of reasoning is dumb and selfish. I would suggest paying the shards to get Adam and deliverance.

  • Original NOES skin.

Honestly, he would probably be in a good place if he had less gen slow down add-ons and if more things could wake survivors up.

If failing a skill check wakes a survivor up, why doesn't completing a generator or using party starters. I also think that having to go to the far side of the map to use the alarm clock is pretty tough too. Maybe make less clocks, but any of them can wake you up? Not sure what the solution is, but I just think it should be easier to wake up.

  • I miss playing as old Freddy too.

  • This should be a thing in normal gameplay anyway tbh.

By that logic spirit fury is also unfair since it corrects a "mistake" from the killer for being stunned. Same with enduring. Same with noed. Same with Bamboozle.

Perks are supposed to give you an advantage, that's why people use them.

Getting stunned isn't a mistake though. As a killer I'm trying to make you waste those pallets. If I can get a hit at the same time, great. It always cracks me up when someone tea bags after a stun. You just let me take away one of your resources, bud.

  • Yeah. Especially with the hook counter, if you're not taking some aggro when people are dead on hook, you're not a team player. It is what it is. That's what makes this game interesting.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

If DH wasn't that great you wouldn't see it on 50% of all survivors every lobby.

I know the devs have their "stats" but nobody cares about them, we all play the game, we all play high rank, we all know there's 2 DH minimum per game and it's quite possibly the most common survivor perk even more so than DS.

Exactamundo. Play against 4 red rank survivors and it's used by at least two survivors (often times 3 or 4) in just about every match.

And again, a strong perk on 1 player isn't an issue. A strong perk on all 4 though...

  • I do it occasionally. Yesterday against a Spirit on the game map. Ruin btw. Someone got downed about 40 seconds into the game. I hid but she saw me apparently. I got hooked. Ok. Bad start. Right after I was hooked the original guy got slugged and Spirit was on someone else.

We were definitely going to lose that match (maybe one player would or did get the hatch). But that game was effectively over. At that point I felt I was better off moving on to the next game. Again, not something I do all the time, but when the writing is on the wall, why not?

People will ignore that you can DH for distance and just say stuff like " but you can just bait it out" or "the perk doesn't work I get exhausted on the ground". I wish this perk never existed, there's been so many times I mindgamed somebody but then they used this perk to make it to a god pallet. Such a busted perk

They're being contrarian or they use it themselves and don't want to see their favorite perk get nerfed.

That's it. It absolutely is stronger than any of the other perks that you rattled off and it's not even close.

I always go back to the original Mettle of Man nerf. People were screaming about a perk that gave you one free health state with a downside effect, but Dead Hard where you basically get at least 3 free health states with just exhaustion, nah totally cool, not overpowered at all... Sure.

And like any strong perk, is it terrible if one guy has Dead Hard, no not really. But when 3 or 4 have it (which is often the case) it blows. You simply can't bait every single hit, since it's mainly used now to get an extra loop at a jungle gym or to get to the nearest pallet.

    It definitely needs a nerf.

Dead Hard does make you exhausted on the group multiple times. When they said 99% it was an exaggeration, doesn't make it not valid since it contributes to the topic.

Pretty big exaggeration. I'd listen to 10% of the time it doesn't work. 99 times out of a hundred though is a gross, severe exaggeration is it not?

Same as when killers claim they face bully squads "almost every match" or survivors that claim "I just got face camped in every single match tonight". Impossible? No. Unlikely? Yes. Annoying when it happens? Yes.

Same with Dead Hard not working. Yes, it sucks to be exhausted on the ground, but to act like that happens everytime you run it, that's just baloney. So why would I read baloney and try to pretend it's a valid argument that I have to give any credence to?

1 … 13 14 15 16 17 … 30
