  • I play on wired Internet and sometimes I get the message that the dedicated server has crashed and I still get a penalty sometimes. No lack of Internet elsewhere in the house on my end.

I'm not a techie, but what's the scoop in that situation?

  • Yeah. Needs to get reverted. What's the point of having a queue timer that tells you how long you're waiting. I want to know how long I have to wait. That helps me determine if it's worth playing as survivor or not.

  • You have no clue how odds work.

  • I'm not saying I'm a good killer or anything, but I actually do pretty well on Badham even regardless of killer. No blow outs, but a lot of hard fought wins.

From the sounds of it, I'm not the norm though and it is a bear, so I'd be down with switching it up.

  • Yeah. I dropped from Iri 1 to 2 because of a server disconnect on Saturday. Pretty annoying.

It's also like an exam seeing how well you know the perks of DBD. So many perks now I always get 1-2 perks I don't really know what they do and can't benifit from them lol

Yeah they should give you minute after load in time to actually read your perks. I don't really have time to read some of them until I'm on hook. Or if I'm killer, I really don't have time to read them at all. I either know or I don't.

  • Bite the bullet should effect mending as well (no brainer).

Iron Grasp should not be a perk that helps you get to further hooks, since Agitation basically does that already. What it should be is a perk that allows you to keep survivors from making pallet saves.

As stated, Nowhere to Hide should stick to the generator, not the killer.

Major change is I would get rid of exhaustion and Gen slow down perks all together. I'd have a dedicated team that balances Gen speeds and pallet density based on killer strength.

I'd also just consolidate and or eliminate many perks all together. We don't need 200 perks for each role at this point.

  • Nostromo all the time. Toba hardly at all.

  • Chucky sucks now that he is 110. Not very fun to play as. What a shame.

Truthfully I think it'd be best if maps and things like pallet count and generator speed was determined by killers so if you play a broken ass like Jason or Nurse you get all pallets and sixty seconds but if you play a normal balanced killer you get regular stuff.

This. And it could be adjusted each 30 days based on their data. No brainer. Yet, hasn't happened in 10 years. Just killer power creep.

"Why doesn't anyone play the old killers?!"

Well, because all new killers have multiple powers that the older killers have. Duh.

  • I play while I walk on my treadmill. So I prefer the less complicated killers. I run a pallet eater build (brutal/enduring/hubris/rampage or lightborn).

I will tunnel and proxy camp as needed. I'm running zero slow down, so I will not lose any sleep if I ruin someone's game by removing them from it. Sorry, I want to win sometimes too.

I try to kill as many people as I can, but I only slug for the 4k if I am going for an adept or I see the last two survivors and can slug without farting around the map for four minutes. I never give hatch anymore.

I play both roles about equally currently, but this event made me lose any empathy for survivors. I finally had to turn post game messages off because I was either a scumbag for trying to win at a video game or the worst killer ever because I lost a game (while running zero slowdown/running B-tier killers). I also hump toxic players if I can afford the time to do so.

I will 100 percent tunnel you if you weaponize your BT. So if you do that, make sure you're good at chase.

  • The only thing about chaos shuffle is I would make an addendum that if you get stuck with no mother you also can't have perks that aren't even usable with that perk equipped (self care/inner strength/etc).

Random killer add-ons seems like a nerf on paper, but how big of one? That's yet to be seen.

I'll play exactly enough Lights Out that I need to for whatever challenges that put out with it. That mode is donkey eggplant.

Come up with a capture the flag mode already.

It's been about the same for me for awhile, though my play time in survivor has dropped considerably, so my sample size has shrunk. Smart unhooks are a big deal, but it's much easier in SWF.

The one thing that should have gone through from the anti-tunnel ptb was Elusive off-hook. People don't stop doing unpleasant things unless something external makes them do so. There's zero punishment for cheesing and its very easy, and easy is what many people want. They don't want skill expression. They don't want to improve. They don't want to get cool orbitals. They don't want to impress anyone by two hooking before killing. They want to play Ghoul with busted add-ons and easily win. That's where this game is at right now. It's gotten stupider and stupider to where it nearly plays itself.

I don't use perks that I might not get value from, like DS, but I suggest trying Lucky Break. I always get use from it. I either escape a chase for free, or I get to run away after unhook with no trail. Often I get both those things. I rarely get tunneled myself because of it.

Gens go too fast to go for cool plays. Some killers don't even have much skill expression anyway.

  • I had a game there earlier as well and noticed the same thing. Like a tile that had a very short chain of 4 pallets. Wild.

  • Friendly reminder to unpin. Anniversary is over.

  • Friendly reminder to unpin. Anniversary is over.

  • Second question, why was the reward so small for such a large community challenge during a ten year anniversary event?

  • The portals make for boring gameplay.

  • Bring me Shrek, Columbo, and Tommy Wiseau. All with voice lines.

  • The cure to killer anxiety is to just play to win. Don't worry about the survivor rule book. Proxy camp/slug/tunnel at your leisure. You're still going to lose some games, but that's just how it goes. You'll still feel more in control by playing to win though.

  • I don't run Gen slow down. With the poison, I'm having like 15-30 second chases and gens are flying. Combined with the invisibility, I'm happy to tunnel. Bring in a flashlight and I'm almost 100 percent going into the match to tunnel.

Killers should be able to tunnel. Especially in this event.

  • @MarbleThrone said:

They'll undoubtedly change it. Every community challenge we've had so far, that was at risk of not being completed, got the numbers reduced.

I also wonder why that Black Banquet community challenge only has a 20k point reward. Feels like it should be 200k instead.

Try 2,000,000. Even 200k BP for a community event during a ten year anniversary is paltry.

    I'd even consider 20,000,000 really.

  • My take is that the game is balanced based on Gen slow down perks, and therefore they should get rid of Gen slow down perks and adjust Gen speeds based on the strength of the killer and map size. Same with pallets. They should be adjusted based on killer strength and map size.

Nerf exhaustion perks as a trade off.

There are games where I'm having 20-30 second chases, but since I'm not running Gen slow down perks, I still have to tunnel/slug to win. It's actually pretty wild.

On the flip side, when I play survivor, the killers that run multiple Gen slow down perks do fairly well. They don't win every game, but they definitely fair better than the ones that don't.

I'd actually love to see a long-term no perk mode/item/add-on mode in the game to see who the actual good players are.

Also, way too much aura reading for both sides.

  • Just bump his speed back up to 115. Not sure why they needed to make him slower when his slice and dice is kind of a pain to use anyway (on console anyway).

team wide instant heals + portals. Also the fact that survivors get to keep a morsel during the desert phase but we lose our poison even if we have so e left is just wrong.

I was talking to one of my friends about this the other day. Another strike against the killers in this event.

  • Portal/invisibility and the full instaheals are so problematic.

This event has really made me unforgiving to survivors moving forward. So many messages from cocky survivors after matches. Even in games I eventually win. "It took you so long to kill us". Annoying.

Also, way more "bully" squads out and about lately. Fun to win those games eventually, but damn what a slog.

  • @cammoking123 said:

That poison isn't random like survivor abilities and it's the strongest ability out of those mentioned. It's like a stronger forced hesitation.

    Oh yeah. Definitely.

How many killer games have you played in this event so far? Zero or less?

  • I've been hoping for voice lines for all characters for a while.

    Wild thing to complain about.

  • @Spirit_IsTheBest said:

I keep versing a cheating Michael who teleports out of nowhere and has no attack cooldown, I've versed this type of player multiples times.

Not fun! I get that cheaters can probably never be 100% put to an end no matter what but the lack of effort into countering cheaters is really upsetting, we need a better anti-cheat as a start.

Gone against him too. Also a killer that faked farming and then just kept slugging and eventually body locked me in a corner until I was forced to abandon. Just sad that BHVR can't take poor sportsmanship and cheating seriously.

This event has kind of sucked playing survivor. Killer has been fun, but I don't want to be stuck playing killer just to farm some BP. And the end game screen being bugged is atrocious too.

Definitely not one of my most fun gaming experiences today.

  • Solo queue is rough for a wide variety of reasons. The only advantage of solo queue over SWF is that at least when you die you don't have to wait around for your friends to finish. And you will die. Probably around 80-90 percent of your games.

They need to separate queues with quitters getting stuck in their own pile while non-quitters get to play with each other. Who cares if it makes wait times a few minutes longer.

  • Dumb question, but on psn- how do you do the little symbol on top of the e?

Without it, the code isn't working for me.

  • I think this mode should be more casual and survivor sided.

  • @KA149108 said:

Gates not getting opened, survivors giving up, killers sweating like their mom's lives are on the line. What is the fun aspect here?! What i can get tunneled at 5 gens and then humped for 4 minutes oh great. Seriously I'm getting so sick of this game and if the devs think I'm buying ######### DLC and outfits they can think again!

Killers have been toxic all event. As I type this I am bleeding out to a knockout and no hook Chucky.

    Game is pretty much unplayable.

  • What if I'm going for my adept, can I use UB then?

Well if you can't take the heat it's time to get out of the kitchen. Slugging isn't fun for you but being looped endlessly isn't fun for the killer. Both part of the game. You could use unbreakable if your not already. Other than that, ye just take a break.

Who gets looped endlessly in this game anymore?

  • 3 k is a win and if you close the hatch you're probably going to get a 4k anyway. Just take the win and get to the next match.

  • High MMR isn't even real. I have 1000s of hours and die probably 80 percent of my games, but apparently am still in the sweat zone of high MMR where I absolutely need to be slugged apparently.

If you're a killer and you're not going for your adept, I think you're a dick for slugging. Just find the hatch and play the gate game. You're still probably going to get the 4k more than half the time.

  • @kosaba11 said:

Either make it possible to give up or add the ability to pick yourself up to the survivor's base kit. I'm so sick and tired of crap killers being allowed to slug an entire lobby just because they think getting a 4K means anything. It's not fun, it's not fair, it should be bannable and there needs to be something that makes it no longer a strategy they can go for.

Every killer I played against slugged. ######### boring as ######### mechanic. Done playing survivor for a while. So damn tedious.

Why don't you try playing killer before you make posts like this?

I play both and killer is definitely the easiest it's ever been. I'm an okay killer and I do lose once in a while, but most of my games are 3 or 4 games by a large percentage.

I'm not even sure why you'd consider that playing Toxic since it's just perks in the game but you do you

For real though. Weird flex by OP, be if it makes him happy so be it I guess.

  • Yeah, I want to like 1v4, but I play a game or two and am Immediately dejected.

Let's face it, 1v4 is comp mode and 2v8 is casual mode. Let the sweats keep their 1v4 mode, add some variety to 2v8 and let's keep it a permanent game mode.

Let us use our BP offerings in 2v8 though.

  • Nah. This is supposed to be a chill mode for both sides. The last thing this needs is MMR.

  • Killer wait times are crazy. Almost an hour for me on a Saturday afternoon.

  • I've played 14 killer games since rank reset. 55/56 survivors have been killed. I don't even consider myself that good of a killer.

I run one gen slow down perk of any.

Killer has never been easier. Do I lose games? Yes. Genrushed super hard? Occasionally. Every game? Lol, nope.

  • @Peanits said:

The invocation time was just reduced to 60 seconds (if done solo) in this update. Beyond that, I will leave it to y'all to decide whether or not it's in a good place now.

It isn't. Not worth the trade off to have someone in the basement for 60 seconds and then end up being broken the rest of the match.

  • I usually stick around if I didn't like how the killer played.

Or for emblem purposes if I'm trying to draw out a little more time in a shorter match.

When I'm killer I just chase them out. I usually nod back at them because mostly I don't care, but even on the off chance they did ruffle my feathers, I don't want them to think that I'm in a corner crying lol.

  • I preferred three gen merchant over this debacle. At least I'd get BP and an easy PIP.

She's just new old Legion now.

  • They should inventive staying in the match. More BP or shards.

They should also only have salt mines for DCers and people who kill themselves on hook have to be stuck playing with each other.

  • Too much aura reading perks in this game.
