I had a baby leatherface with a slugging build who had us all slugged so i picked myself up and did the last gen and gave everyone adrenaline and we all escaped. He called me a toxic bi*ch and to #########. So what are your opinions on unbreakable?

Perks cannot be toxic. That word is so overused it's pathetic. People are toxic (or not). Use of a perk is not toxic. Maybe there was something else you did that was toxic. Calling them a "baby leatherface" is meant to be derogatory, so maybe you did something else that was meant to irritate them...but using unbreakable is not toxic. If they hadn't slugged, you wouldn't have been able to use it. Some killers have been relying a little too much on tunneling and slugging lately and are unused to any type of counter-play.

  • Anyone remember that leaked info that said they were going to hide ranks, and some people quickly jumped on people that referenced that, when it wasn't implemented on the test server? Well, here it is.

A hidden MMR system that will supposedly rank players better according to their skill. This makes the old rank system obsolete, so they are going to hide the ranks from the post game screen...just like that leaked info said. I'm sure that some will point out that they said they are considering removing them not that they will definitely, but come on. It is more than just a coincidence.

We are back to the same problem when we first heard about that. Matchmaking can remain broken, but we will not be able to see how bad. Even if they don't hide the actual ranks, the ranks themselves become meaningless, so it would have the same result. Players will have no way of determining if the matchmaking is working, or not. That is actually going to make the problem so much worse. At least if you do poorly in a match, there is some solace in knowing you were beat by players that were lower rank than you.

Hiding this information is just what people were concerned about when that leaked info was released. It means that we will have no idea whether the MM is working or not. Currently we can show screenshots of how bad it is, but after this goes into effect, we won't.

It seems clear that they are planning to speed up queue times at the expense of "fairness", and then they are going to hide just how unfair that it is, just as many people were afraid they were going to do. If it works, why hide it? Other games are transparent with their MMR system. You can't help but question their motives behind hiding it from us.

Btw, i find it funny that they said that they were going to leave the current ranking system in place (even if it isn't shown post-game), for bragging rights. What is there to brag about if the ranking system doesn't reflect skill?

  • If you expect someone to just drop DBD if they don't like it, you're willfully ignoring these investments players have made. I urge you to stop this line of reasoning, as it is utterly and entirely unrealistic.

If you are unhappy, you should drop it. It is nothing like a stock investment. It's a game. If you invested hundreds or thousands of hours into it, it was because you enjoyed playing it. If that is no longer the case, it is best to move on. Why would anyone want to keep playing something they no longer find fun? That would really be wasting time you will never get back. There are hundreds of games out there to be played. Attatching yourself to one specific game HOPING that it will eventually become fun for you again, would be insane. They can always check back in the future to see if things have improved.

  • I don't use NOED as killer, at least not so far.

As survivor, I expect traps to be just about anywhere with Trapper and Hag. Been running with Small Game lately. Helps to find and disarm traps (or just to go around them), and also really good for finding totems.

I hadn't really used it before, but one of the Survivors I was leveling up didn't have a lot of perks yet, so I tried it. It can be pretty useful.

  • Nope. I don't own surveillance, and I'm not going to buy it to run with the new Ruin. It was a risk vs reward situation with the old Ruin. Now the reward is only theoretical. It is far too unlikely to last until a point in the game where it will have any impact, at all. Not worth one perk slot, let alone two.

  • Nope. I just think people need to learn to play differently around him.

  • Partly because this game comes with a natural divide, because too many people main one side or the other. They can't be objective because they only see one side, so that is their reality. What's good for one side is bad for the other, and vice versa, so it creates a lot of toxicity.

Those that play both sides can't state an opinion without getting labeled as a main for the other side. It's kind of sad, but that is the state of things.

  • From the sounds of it, he could use an asthma inhaler.

I dislike it too... But heres something i just remember in moat games it was gone in the first few seconds anyways...

And still happens. Most of our games are unaffected by ruin now anyways because its gone that feels almost instantly so in the end there is pretty much no change over all?

Ruin was gone early, but you sometimes would get at least several minutes out of it, which was the point. It slowed down the early game a bit. If you were lucky, it could last longer. The new one does nothing for the early game, and likely won't make it to the late game, so the new one is much worse. The risk vs reward of it being hex based is just not worth it. I still don't understand the reasoning behind that.

  • May he had a long line of toxic survivors before you and was frustrated. Maybe he thought camping was a good idea, because it would bring other survivors to him.

Not sure how he didn't get a down if he was camping that hard, He should have been able to insta-down somebody. unless someone used that hook tech exploit on him.

Either way, not the best strategy. But with matchmaking the way it is, killers often get matched with lower rank survivors, which is frustrating enough, even more so with swf groups.

  • Nurse might provide a more varied playstyle. Doc is kind of fun, though I have only played him a couple of times, so far.

Bro survivors are mainly the 65% its not fair to say that in an update where survs got no nerfs while killers lost a really strong perk, wait til survivor nerfs happen then we can talk

Also i play survivor more than killer so dont try that stuff on me, i try to stay as neutral as possible despite not being a high rank killer, i watch streamers to see informed opinions

Dude, what are you talking about. How can the 65% be survivors?

The 65% (maybe overestimated) that complain about the ruin/doctor changes, believing that the balance team heavily focuses on the survivors enjoyment rather than all player's and that they heavily focus on buffing them (survivors)

Survivors are complaining that the devs nerfed Ruin and the fact that the devs seem to be favoring survivors? How does that make any sense? Survivors are happy with that, they are not complaining.

The rest of your post I simply don't understand. I don't know what "stuff" you think i was "trying to pull". You seem to be saying that the nerf was bad for killers, and good for survivors, which I agree with. How did you get anything else out of what i posted. This thread wasn't even about the nerf, so not what we were talking about.

This post is in no way referring to killers and survivors, I know many survivor mains (albeit very inexperienced) who think ruin and doc are too strong/weak now. You're the one setting up camps and bringing the thread down to your level.

Survivors are not complaining that the devs seem to be favoring survivors., or about the nerf to Ruin.

I didn't create any camps. The OP is the one that stated that there are two different groups on the forums. I responded to that, I didn't create it.

Since survivors would not be complaining about getting, what some see as, preferential treatment, the ones complaining are killers.

That then means that the other side mentioned was either the survivors, or the survivors were omitted as a group. Specifically, the survivors that keep posting threads gloating and trying to antagonize the killer mains.

Also, since the second group mentioned in the OP was said to use "logic", implied that the other group did not, which is insulting to those that have presented well thought out arguments about why the situation was bad. Just because you disagree with the devs' choice doesn't mean that you didn't use logic to reach that decision.

This seemed like a deliberate troll thread, but the OP explained that that was not the intention, so we are good.

Dude I just got tired because it was the third time someone called me a troll in 2 months, so I completely apologize. I hope it is just a misunderstanding because I admit, I just woke up and I was so goddamn mad/sad. Not actually a calm spirit I admit, kinda in the middle :3

    Sorry

No worries. The way the post was worded seemed, to me, like it was intended to bait a large part of the community. Since there have been so many threads created to do just that, your post seemed like another one of those. If it was just a misunderstanding, I withdraw my "troll" comment.

However, if you have been getting called a troll on multiple occasions, and you don't feel that you were being one, maybe it was just the way you worded things. Context comes from the readers side, not the writers, so wording is important so there isn't any confusion. If someone says something like that, instead of getting upset, just ask what part they thought was trolling, so you can clear up the misunderstanding. Some people are just here to be toxic, though. Don't try to reason with them, or let them get you upset. Just move on

LOL What nerve was there to touch? At least try to understand the discussion before commenting.

  • Interesting. I will have to try that. i hate trying out new killers because some survivors, especially swf groups can be so toxic. They can't just take their easy win gracefully, they have to harass and abuse.

  • It was meant to be an anti tunneling perk, but became a way for some players to harass the killer. Some people always have to ruin things for everyone else. It is especially problematic with swf groups. When almost every survivor is using it, it can be tiresome, leaving killers no option but to slug to avoid it. That's not fun for anyone.

  • I haven't played killer long enough to be annoyed by keys, but considering that you can hide in a locker the whole game and still escape by using the key, I don't really see it as being better than using a mori. The killer has to do some work to get that mori, while a survivor can escape using a key and accomplish almost nothing in the game.

I was once in a match where I was hooked, and there were 3 of us left. One survivor was in the distance, but making her way toward me. The other was crouching on the far side of the map. The other survivor got downed and hooked, while the third survivor remained crouched on the other side of the map, same spot, not moving. My only guess is that he/she found the hatch and was waiting for us to die.

  • I don't use self care, at all. It's useless against one hit down killers, but there are times when I wish i did have it. I would definitely let others heal me though. I have seen people refuse it too, not sure why. Maybe they want BP for it, or maybe they don't trust others to make skill checks.

  • It was justified. You were either being a troll, or you worded your post in such a way that you came across that way. Either way, when you insult a group of people, while deifying the other group (of which you claim to be a member), I consider that trolling.

I responded in that thread, but it is clear that you are not the "calm spirit" that you claimed to be in that post. My original post was one sentence. If you were truly a calm spirit, you would have asked what I meant. Instead you went on a tirade, just like the people you were criticizing.

Ok, now I'm anger. This is the third time someone said I'm a troll. This post is a "just to hf" post, not a life or death situation. I don't know what "troll" is to you, but for the rest of the universe and dimensions it isn't what I do. So I suggest you two things, either search what troll means or don't use the word troll since you clearly don't know what it means. I'm so tired people calling me troll when the other 99% of the 3d and 4d fking dimensions believe I'm not.

If you wanna see a troll, look at a goodamn mirror. Stop using words that you don't know what they mean 😡😠😡😠

I know what a troll is. You created two camps.

One camp that is complaining about the changes to Ruin and the appearance of bias in favor of survivors (ie Killers).

The other camp are "The calm spirits of the community" That "use logic to justify the devs' decisions".

Is that second camp supposed to be the survivors? If not, you left out a camp. Are you implying that those that disagree with the devs' decisions are not "using logic", and that this second camp is better than the first camp? Either way, it is insulting to a large group of people. How does that "calm the spirits" of the community? You seem to be giving yourself a lot of credit and putting yourself above everyone else. Yet, look at your angry response. Calm spirit? 🙄

  • Always, unless something really toxic happened. Then I just usually say nothing and leave.

  • Legion is fast when using his ability, but he can't down you with it.

Most killers have a faster movement speed than survivors. Balanced only gives you a speed boost for 3 seconds, so it's not a free escape ability, but it should hopefully get you to someplace safer. If you just run in a straight line, they will catch up.

It also reduces your stagger time from landing. You have to look at the balance of the perk compared to not having it, not compared to what the killer is able to do. It's still one of the better perks in the game.

  • If they did that, what would be the point of having a specific character to begin with?

  • I'm far less concerned with lobby dodging that I am with survivors DC'ing constantly.

Yesterday, we loaded into Lery's and Doc was the killer. Immediately, 3 of my teammates DC'd. I just ran to the exit to open the gate. Doc saw me and shocked me about a dozen times, but let me go. Both of us got screwed over. After the match he told me that he was new to playing the Doctor and was just trying to complete a challenge.

  • LOL Quite the troll post. 😂

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/123147/so-how-is-that-late-game-hex-perk-working-for-everyone

what about new kilers like me? don't even have ruin, get completely gen rushed when i'm trying to use doctor

The new Ruin is not going to change that. If you don't have it, don't waste money or shards on it. It does not prevent gen rush in the slightest.

I think the devs idea of a late game perk is a specific scenario where you have already eliminated two survivors and there are still 4 gens left to do. In other words, playing against players who don't know what they are doing.

I don't get how they didn't even consider actually hiding totems. They talked about players having to search for the totems, when most of the time they are right out in the open. Maybe if they did actually have to search for them, it wouldn't be so bad.

  • Killer can use offerings to put hooks closer together. Survivors can sabotage hooks and use offerings to put hooks further apart. What's the problem?

I afk to fold laundry or finish eating my food if it’s slug galore, no point with a killer proxy camping the slugs just to get up to feed more M1 hit points for the killer....I’ll take the L but thanks for the suggestion, go find the hatch or something if it gets under your skin so much.

you can’t control the actions of those around you but you can control yourself :)

Well, my post was directed at people who actually want to play the game, and aren't sore losers that just give up if it's not going well for them.

Not sure what the hatch has to do with anything. The post wasn't about winning or losing. It was about trying to help others, and about them making it easier for the rest of us to do that.

Unfortunately, people like you create an additional problem. When you go afk, no one knows. You just screw over people that think they are helping you.

    I have to say it’s a gamble.

I’m definitely in support of attempting to crawl away first. If it is apparent the killer is not coming back within less than half a minute, I.e. they haven’t quickly changed their mind and want to pick you up, then stop crawling and recover.

(That said, a No Mither user should ALWAYS attempt to crawl away first)

Yeah, that's why I said that i know there are certain situations where you may want to crawl away first, but as soon as you get somewhere relatively safe, recover. However, just spinning in place, or trying to crawl across the entire map, to another survivor, not good. Definitely don't crawl to another survivor. Recover and let them come to you.

If you are not in a chase. Work on a generator. If the killer is pressuring hook. Work on a generator. If your teamate goes into the dying state. You better be on a Generator for him to see his chase meant something. This has been your PSA on how to work on generators

Yep. Nothing worse than getting hooked after a chase, only to see your teammates just wondering around aimlessly, or hiding somewhere. Do something. Work on gens or rescue me, if possible. If I am being camped on the hook, do gens. I can at least get some satisfaction of wasting the killers time even more while more gens get done.

  • @darktrix said:

If they don't recover, they stay slugged.

Yeah, I am at that point too. Though sometimes I don't notice, and assume they have, only to find out that they haven't, not even a little. If they crawl or spin immediately after being slugged, and don't stop to recover, I am going to work on something more productive as they slowly crawl across the map.

    Please, slugs...

  • There are the same amount of DC's and as much toxicity as ever.

Only bad players DC'd because of Ruin, because they mentally convinced themselves that they couldn't be done. For decent players, it was only a minor annoyance. I don't mind them getting rid of the annoying part, but I don't think the new version is a good replacement.

Likewise, if Ruin is "really doing a number" on your gens, that's you, not Ruin. Good players do not let Ruin do a number on the gens. Each gen can be completed in around a minute, or so. The regression is far slower than the repair time. If you lost all of your repair, you were gone too long. If you were being chased then the 3 other people could be working on their gens in peace, so regression on your gen is not that important.

Also, there has definitely been an increase in the use of mori's, NOED, and slugging. Not that it's a bad thing. They are part of the killers play book, they are free to use them. I'm just seeing them more.

I had this game today and it just didn't feel fair. I was sweating like crazy only to realize that I wasn't even on an even playing field. The fact I got one kill and pip'd is an accomplishment.

What's going on with the matchmaking is there a new bug this patch?

Not new to the patch. I had games like that when I was rank 18 killer, and has been consistent ever since. MM is broken. They have said that a patch will be coming within the next few weeks.

  • @Fog_King said:

This should be common sense, right? But you are right, it's not. I have had times where someone was downed, I was fixing on the other side of the map and after a few seconds, there I go to help them. They are in the same spot and when I get to them, they have no recovered at all. Or people just crawling away when the killer leaves them, instead of recovering. Or a downed survivor just crawling straight to the other survivor hiding near, giving them away and giving the killer free hits.

But sometimes the people coming to heal others are also dumb. I lost count of how many times someone is on the hook, another person gets downed near and a third person comes and instead of unhooking the hooked person, starts healing the downed person who was just downed 3 seconds ago. Of course the killler comes back way before the heal is complete, so the third person is now running away and the other two are still in the same position. Most times, the hooked person ends up dying.

Yeah, it does seem like common sense to me too. I don't get it.

I also don't get it when other survivors loop the killer around the hook. They aren't going to get a safe unhook, and they are preventing others from getting one. I don't want to be unhooked only to be downed immediately because you brought the killer with you. If anything, they should run the killer away from the hook, so others can make the rescue.

  • @YourBoyTroy said:

I am dead serious about this being a hex.

Nurse's calling you have to hide and be far away to heal to counter it.

Bitter murmur requires you to finish a generator for the killer to see you.

Making BBQ and chili a hex or a scream silhouette would make the perk more fair.

Having finished hooking a survivor you can easily just walk to where you saw the survivor (How does that require skill?)

It's sad that killers need so many aura reading abilities to find survivors when you can easily just listen for whining from them or scratch marks from them running.

It literally takes no skill to be a killer.

They whole idea is ridiculous. You know BBQ&Chili exists, it is your fault if you get caught because of it. Survivors have aura reading perks as well, so you can know where the killer is and where he is headed. I prefer kindred, others prefer other perks. Some perks will tell you when the killer is looking in your direction. It's up to you whether or not you want to use aura perks or not, but they are there to be used, just as BBQ&C is for killers.

Even if you don't have an aura reading ability, you could play it safe and assume that the killer has it, and MOVE. Not that hard to counter.

Let's stop bringing up skill. It takes no skill to stay in one spot either. If you stay in one spot and wait for the killer to come to you, that is bad play on your part.

  • Awesome! That was a lot of work, I'm sure. It is much appreciated. :D

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1027434#Comment_1027434

Amazingly the game should be balanced around all killers having the potential to pressure the map, rather than having one killer with near infinite map control making global changes impossible because he'd be even more broken with it.

Yes, it would be nice to have killers having the ability to control maps equally, albeit by different methods, but that would take a lot of reworking, so we won't be seeing that anytime soon, if ever.

Also, as I mentioned, he is great on open maps, but not so great on other maps. There are a lot better killers for indoor maps, for example, where his turn radius is a huge problem.

You don't nerf a character because he/she is better in certain situations than others, especially when the talking points for the last week or so are how killers are supposed to apply map pressure on these huge maps. When the other problems get fixed, then they can look at him and evaluate. A nerf would just be another band-aid fix that ignores the larger problems.

  • Yeah. It is a bad experience for new players, especially killers. Yellow ranked killers going up against red and purple survivors is not a fun experience...especially toxic swf groups.

They said that they hope to have a fix in place in a few weeks, and more detailed information on what that means sometime soon. We'll have to wait and see how that works out.

  • Nope. Far too toxic at the moment. It's not a good environment for new players. Maybe with the matchmaking changes and other changes the devs have in mind, things will improve, but we will have to wait and see.

  • It's funny how the Ruin nerf got everyone talking about map pressure, now we are going to talk about nerfing one of the few killers that can actually apply some good map pressure? Yeah, that's going to sit well with killers. 🙄

I have never played Billy. I have seen videos of him being played countless times, and played against him countless times. I see much better players than me struggle with his turns, so I imagine that it is even tougher for newer players. He's great at maps with a lot of open area, not so great on other maps.

As survivor, just stay out of his way. If you want to teabag him at a pallet, you do so at your own risk. 🙂

  • Not toxic, at all. Go for it. The time you spend doing that means less time your are spending doing other things. Plus they respawn (not sure on the time) eventually. Seems like a good time to slug

What I find toxic are the coordinated swf groups that 99% a hook, body block you on the way to the hook and then sabotage it at the last second.

  • When was it in the shrine? It wasn't there for me yesterday or today? I'm on PC, is it a PS thing?

I can give a "small summary" of what was note worthy I suppose. I can try my best to give the exact answers they gave, but I won't obviously get a word for word because I need to cut down on a lot of what they said to save space, i'll only focus on the ruin questions as well, just to cut down on time. A lot of other questions are said after for The Doctor, Tome ll, etc and I can't really write it all up at this time since it's late for me personally.

(Side note: I might also shorten some things that were said to make the answer more compact, but it should still be what they were trying to convey... just modified to save space. I'm not editing their answers to change what they say, this is my attempt for a word to word but just shortened. If I do mess up on some answers that you later go back to check than I apologize, i'm just human after all not a robot.)

Questions about ruin and generator progression as a whole

Some questions below will focus on Ruin, base generator times, toolboxes, and anything related to these as well.

    • [Question] (What was the thought process behind the Ruin change?) [Answer] (It was mostly to help with the new players that were coming into the game, observing the veteran players showed that it didn't really have an affect on them that much since they would go right through it. There were many possibilities for the change and we tried many things that ended up being too OP, so we found a middle ground through the suggestions we had and we're fairly confident in where it should be at the moment.)
    • [Question] (Will other slow down perks see a change as well?) [Answer] (Having a lot of slow down perks could make the game end up feeling a bit stale, for example, if you had someone run Ruin, Pop Goes the Weasel, and Thanatophobia... than you'd have a hard time getting any progress done as a result.)
    • [Question] (Have you considered making Ruin a non-hex perk?) [Answer] (We considered it... and it didn't seem right, if it stayed a hex perk than we could keep its "power level" up, if we made it not a hex perk than we would have to change the percentages to reflect this change.)
    • [Question] (Have you thought about keeping the "no great skill check progress" part of Ruin?) [Answer] (That's a good suggest, so if we find out that the current Ruin isn't living up to the amount of power that we think it should have than that's something we're considering to add in the future.)
    • [Question] (Are you looking into changing the base generator repair time?) [Answer] (We're looking at some possible changes to toolboxes and the repair bonuses you get out of those, but we have nothing set in stone on those yet. As for the base generator time it's probably not going to increase because asking Survivors to sit for say... 120 seconds if their unmodified is a bit much.)
    • [Question] (Will toolboxes be changed in the near future?) [Answer] (Yes we're looking at some fundamental changes to how toolboxes work and their values, we don't have anything set in stone as of right now though, it's something we're currently working on right now and we can't really talk about details at this time.)
    • [Question] (Are there any plans to adjust Survivor generator perks accordingly) [Answer] (These are... not really used that much a whole lot despite being used on free characters. So, we don't really consider them to be a problem, so at the moment those will probably be staying the way they're.)
    • [Question] (Are there plans for a secondary objective?) [Answer] (In the short term it's unlikely that you'll see a brand new secondary objective pop up, which probably is more likely is more focus on existing side objectives like the totem system for example. Since at the moment the totem system is in the spotlight due to the Ruin change.)
    • [Question] (Are you looking to improve some of the weaker perks?) [Answer] (We do plan on looking into some low usage perks and we do actually have a list to give you. So here are some perks that we plan to hit soon due to their low usage, Small Game, Cruel Limits, Any Means necessary, Slippery Meat, Vigil, This is Not Happening, and Technician.)
    • [Question] (Will commonly used Survivor perks receive the same treatment?) [Answer] (Some of these Survivor perks while they're quite common were not used nearly as much as Ruin or Self-Care. Decisive Strike already got a serious cut back, so we're not that worried about it's power at the moment. If you consider Borrowed Time and Adrenaline they don't nearly stick out as much in terms of usage as Ruin did, If you consider Decisive Strike, Borrowed Time, and Adrenaline, Lithe is actually used more than all three of those, so we're not too worried about these perks at the moment.)
    • [Question] (Will there be other generator slow down perks in the future?) [Answer] (It's not impossible that we'll make more of these, however we would have to be very careful about how they interact with others, we don't want sets of four perks that're slow down to be meta anymore, for example, new ruin does not have good synergy with PGTW as it locks out the damage generator action. Only one provides value at a time. Going forward we might find other interesting ways for generator slow down perks, but we don't want these easy perks that synergize for strong slow down builds.)

and end note for this summary

Again, I only wanted to focus on the Ruin changes since they're the most important ones from these stream (I guess), I had to go back into the stream and gather a lot of them word for word for you and after that there was a lot more to cover on The Doctor, Tome ll, and other such things that were Misc.

@Fibijean does actually compile a list of everything that is said in recent streams... so you don't have too! So, if you want to know more than feel free to go back into the stream and check for yourself, but if you want to wait for Fibijeans write up than expect it to show up in the General Discussions sub-forum as always.

Hope this helps, despite it not covering E V E R Y T H I N G and other note worthy questions that I missed, I couldn't write up everything in such a short time, mainly because I don't really want to go back and write everything word for word... sorry.

Maybe another time, since it's late where I am.

LOL There's absolutely no reason for you to go back and write everything down word for word. That was already a lot. Thank you. Much appreciated. :D

There was a lot there, a couple of things that I personally found very interesting. I'm working on my usual livestream summary post right now, so if you're interested in finding out what was said without watching the stream, that should be along in a few hours!

Awesome! Looking forward to it. :)

    You're indeed correct yes.

    @grobin76

The idea of Cross-Play is currently on BHVRs mind yes, but we don't have any official responses on the topic yet. We do know that the concept is indeed on their minds, but it's unknown if something might change or when it will happen.

The same goes for Cross-Progression, we don't know yet. Also for context, the Xbox Game Pass is not a gateway to play with Steam players, a lot of people think it is but it isn't, there is no cross-play with console at this time. The only cross-play we have right now is between Steam and the Windows 10 version of DBD, that's it.

I was wondering what that Cross-Play option was, in settings, if there was no cross-play with consoles. So it's cross-play between Windows 10 and Steam? I didn't know those were separate things.

It's been two months already, 2-3 more weeks makes it a problem for three months... three months with no replies other than we're looking into it.

Not saying that it hasn't been a long time. It's just that there has been so little communication from the devs about the issue. I had no idea if they had any plans or were even looking into it. It may not be as soon as we would like, but at least now I know they have a plan.

  • No. You could escape without contributing anything to the match. You could hide in a locker the whole time and jump out in time to escape. That doesn't deserve a pip.

  • It really depends on the map. Even legion can't make it back and forth across the bigger maps fast enough to keep up gen pressure.

  • I'm just happy that it has been acknowledged and is being worked on. I wasn't expecting to see a change anytime soon, so "weeks" doesn't sound to bad at this point.

You don’t get additional exp for longer games, hence why this bloke is thinking of afk farming.

Really? Don't you miss out on a lot of exp for no hooks, downs, chases and hits? What's the point of farming XP if you don't enjoy the game enough to actually play it. Move on to something you do enjoy.

Sure, the killers I've spoken to in game must be delusional then and feeding me false info. We can run with that. I don't care if you believe me or not, cause I know what I'm saying is true. The fact that you're demanding such hard evidence with no consideration that it may be true, shows you probably won't change your mind no matter what I say or show.

Yes, how well Ruin works now is situational. It always has been, there's many factors to it. It's the same between the old and new. There's many situational factors to how all games will go.

You don't need an offering to spawn together. All 4 most likely won't spawn together, but more often than not I always spawn with at least 2 other survivors right around me. I don't know if you'd consider that something that should be changed or not to where the survivors always spawn separately from each other. Personally I think it's easier to know that I probably have to head to the gens farthest away from me first, as that's where they'll probably be, together.

SWF is a whole different ball game that the devs still need to look into for some kind of nerfing. A good SWF team will run around even the best killers in the game.

I have stated before, I don't have Ruin as a perk on killer so I have never used it. I've never cared what they did to Ruin, I learned how to play without it as a crutch to my game play, therefore I would have to record every single survivor game I play until I came across a killer using it and I honestly can't be bothered, because as stated before, some games the ruin is gone instantly and it's useless. Some games, the killer just doesn't apply a lot of gen pressure. Some games, you get completely slaughtered by the killer because they're good at gen pressure, with or without Ruin.

Besides, you don't need this "hard evidence" from me. You can go play your own games, you can go watch streams. I'm not bothering to provide you with info you can gather yourself. It'll probably be ignored anyway.

I don't have Ruin as a perk on killer so I have never used it

Then how can you claim that it is very powerful now, if you have zero personal experience with it? You just keep using survivor biased talking points, and you have no personal experience with it.

    Yet, you previously claimed:

Yes, the new Ruin is very strong, I have first hand experience

Which is it? Have you had first hand experience with it, or have you never used it?

You can go play your own games, you can go watch streams.

I have. Unlike you, I have actually played the game with it. My understanding of it comes from actual personal experience. I have also watched many streams and vids that are not survivor or killer biased. They do not agree with what you are claiming. Not saying that you haven't heard it, just that you were clearly getting your information from survivor biased sources.

I am asking you for hard evidence because you are stating your case as fact, that Ruin is a very powerful perk now and that all you need to do is apply pressure and be in the right place at all times, as if that is possible. If you want to claim that it is now a "very powerful" perk, back up your claim. I did show consideration that it may be true, all you have to do is show me where I am wrong. You claim to have talked to many killers and they all agree that it is very powerful, and I just don't buy it. There are no players that regularly play killer that think that Ruin is powerful now in its current state.

You keep claiming that you are able to control the map just fine without ruin and that Ruin is very powerful now. If you are going to make those kinds of claims, you need to back them up. Show us how you are consistently applying map/gen pressure, and are always in the right place to do so. If you don't have Ruin, that's fine. Show us how well you keep up map and gen pressure without Ruin.

I have to be honest here. I have serious doubts that you play any significant amount of time as killer. All of your talking points have come from the devs or survivor biased sources. You aren't talking from any personal experience. You will, of course, deny this, but I think we both know it's true.

I'm not even a killer main. I started as a survivor main, and now play about 50/50. The flaws in the ruin change are obvious to anyone with any experience on the killer side. I think there are very few killer that had a problem with them changing Ruin, but this specific change was just poorly though out and implemented.
