If you can't say specifically who needs to be reported, leave it, and pay better attention next time. Reporting players who have done nothing wrong is not fair to them.
-
You realize that this is ridiculous, right? No player is going to have all those perks, and many will have none of them. Essentially you are not playing certain ways for fear that a survivor may have a counter. Guess what, survivors have the same issue when gearing up for a killer. Certain perks are only good on certain maps and/or against certain killers. If you can't play a certain way because of perks that counter the strategy, play differently. Learn to adapt. And don't tell me that it isn't possible.
Btw, if you are going to tunnel and slug, expect counters. I get that you want survivors to just take it, so that you have an easy game. Most of the perks have timers, or other restrictions, so it's not like they can use them non-stop. Unbreakable can be used once per match and you are going to whine about it? I know that playing killer can be stressful, but come on.
-
Oni is in a far better spot than a lot of killers. Having him start with his power would be ridiculous. That wouldn't make him better against good survivors, it would just give you an early down, maybe not even that if you are struggling with him.
-
Couldn't you just ask when are weaker killers going to be buffed? All you are doing by bringing up survivor stuff is opening the door for another "us vs them" debate and there won't be any constructive discussion on the real issue.
-
Honestly, potatoes will still be potatoes. It was not the lack of information that was making them potatoes. The information just makes the decent players better because they have more info to work with. The potatoes will still spend most of their time hiding rather than working on gens, making rescues, or recovering when downed. What gets me is that even with the new information survivors still get to the second hook phase on their first hook, or die on their second hook, because other survivors can't be bothered going for a rescue.
-
I doubt any of them were deals that fell through. Billy was likely inspired by Leatherface, The Hills have Eyes, and many other hillbilly based serial killer movies, but not a deal that fell through. The rest are nice conspiracy theories, but a stretch.

So you're cool if survivors just hide for an hour when there's 1 gen left? I mean if the killer doesn't like it, he can let them finish the gens and move on to the next game. That's your us vs them argument in a nutshell.
You realize that they said that "it takes both sides to draw out the match". You didn't switch anything up on them. They already acknowledge that is the case.

12 hooking can be done i would be more impressed if it was against a high level comp team like oracle
i agree with the escape streak point...there are quite a few survivors that are carried by their teammates to higher mmr
Yeah, but pretty much any of the things you would consider skillful would be more so if done against high level opponents.
-
It would not work, because the time it would take to do those things would take away from working on gens. Getting a boost to gen repair speeds after spending a bunch of time to find items is not beneficial. If they were to add secondary objectives, they would have to make them mandatory, and then balance the game around it. The only reason to do that would be to make the game more fun. If they created "optional" secondary objectives, people would just ignore them and work on gens, and that development time would be wasted.
-
12 hooking without camping, tunneling, or slugging.
Escape streaks do not, necessarily, require a lot of skill. You could hide in a locker for the entire match and only come out once the gates are open. Extreme case, but I definitely see people too afraid to do anything because they want to escape.
-
It seems like you just came here to start a fight with killer mains, by implying that it is a common killer practice. You would have to know that anyone that does that kind of thing would ignore a post like this. In fact, if they read this thread, they are probably getting a kick out of how much they got under your skin. In fact, it will probably encourage them to do it even more. Just report the person that did it and move on. Holding the game hostage is against the rules.
-
I agree, "exposed" is a poor identifier of the situation. "Vulnerable" seems like it would be a better description.
-
I am getting a "No Network Connection" error message despite me obviously having a network connection. I assume it is the same issue, or related.

Unfortunately this is not a "my" issue. As I've stated above; I've gone and verified, uninstalled, as well as done a clean install. I play other games that require me to have online access and none of them ever drop me or kick me out. This is a Dead By Daylight issue. This wasn't a problem for me until a couple of patches ago. I've also made another post where people are commenting on also having the same issues on different platforms. The penalty shouldn't be a thing. It prevents no one from rage quitting anyways. People still go and rage quit the game or better yet, just die on hook or go and ruin the rest of the game for everyone when they get rescued. (IE: dropping all the pallets on a map, showing the killer where team mates are ect)
It most certainly makes a difference. If people are faced with a penalty, they are less likely to casually quit every time they don't like something in the match. The penalty absolutely should be a thing, since it negatively affects the gameplay of the rest of the people in the match. Implying that people quitting games are the same people that do those other bad actions is disingenuous.
For all anyone knows, you are deliberately DC'ing and wanting to not be penalized for it. Also, the point you made about if you were in a SWF you could report on the killers build, actually work against your argument. That is even more of a reason to have a penalty in place.
What you should be doing, if you are legitimately losing your connection, is to try and troubleshoot the problem. Saying that this is the only game that has this problem is not good enough. If it was the game, itself, everyone would be having the same problem, so the problem lies with your setup.
-
I have never DC'd against the nurse or any killer. You know who is being selfish? The people that DC then whine about her being too good. They leave the rest of their team short handed for the rest of the match. That is selfish. The reason she seems too good is because people DC against her and never learn how to properly play against her. The fact that you claim that she is easy to play show that you are just making stuff up to try and further your agenda. You want them to make the game easier for you so that you don't have to bother learning to play better.
-
Plenty on both sides to go around, I'm sure. The difference is that if a killer is toxic, it is usually in the course of doing what they need to do. I consider face-camping toxic, but the devs said it was OK, so it is what it is. And a lot of other stuff they do is because the game has one objective for them, kill as many survivors as possible by any means.
However, when survivors screw over their teammates, that is not part of the game. I have been intentionally body blocked multiple times in the last couple of days, and have had players refuse to unhook me (just standing under the hook and starting the unhook animation and stopping over and over, or just standing off to the side watching me when the killer was on the other side of the map) or refuse to heal me when the killer was clearly far away. Just mocking me by tea-bagging over and over.
Plenty of good people on both sides though.

Which is why as far as nerfs go I actually like it. Its basically guaranteed to be cleansed before you can kill a survivor so it doesn't actually nerf it too hard. Don't get me wrong, even if they didn't nerf it I still wouldn't use it as hexes are too unreliable. Since they want to nerf it though, I think this was one of the better ways to go about it.
It has no value. A gen does not regress if players are working on them. That means that no significant regression happens in the early part of the game. The only thing that gave it value was if it was still active in the later parts of a match. The devs even said that it was a late game perk. The fact that it could be removed before that was a risk vs reward situation. Having it stop functioning automatically after one kill takes away any reward that it had. It either gets cleansed by players, or gets cleansed by the game. Either way it doesn't make it to the late game where it actually had value. And, keep in mind, you can't use any other type of regression with it, including kicking. There is nothing left to justify it as a perk, let alone a hex perk.
-
Yeah, it is ridiculous. Back when the initial Ruin was changed, the defense was that it was a strong late game perk, so it needed to be a hex. Considering that there is a highly likely chance that it can be removed long before the late game, being a hex, it has always been a risk vs reward perk, especially since it prevents any other type of regression from working.
Now, it will work half as well, can still be removed early in the game to provide no benefit, and will automatically be removed from the game when a survivor is killed. How is that balance? It's a late game perk that will now have zero chance of making it to the late game. There is only regression when nobody is working on the gen. With 4 players you rarely, if ever, will see that in the early game. You mentioned being conservative with other changes in the past but went extremely heavy handed with this nerf....and you still left it as a hex. That is simply no longer justifiable. Even if it weren't a hex, it would still likely not even be worth a perk slot.
-
@Crowman said:
It's less mmr and more the balance of the game.
All mmr did was force people to having to play in the most optimal way where as before the skill in ranks where so variable that it was easier to just play whatever and do well.
Game balance is certainly bad, but the MMR system made it worse. All that matters for killers is kills, so that has led to more tunneling, camping, and slugging. For survivors it is all about escapes, and nothing else. Altruism has gone out the window. It is no longer a team game, on the survivor side, but an every person for themselves situation. Players will gladly sacrifice other teammates if it means they will be more likely to escape. They now will gen rush rather than going for rescues. The number of survivors that reach multiple stages on a single hook has gone up tremendously. In fact, I almost never reached another stage prior to the SBMMR system. The system has made the game worse for both sides, and that's on top of the poor game balance.
-
I think that a first step would be to make bad perks, that nobody uses, better. If you give people viable choices, they will naturally choose different perks, which i think is a much better idea that forcing people to use bad perks.

But I wanna play survivor too 💀💀💀. You're basically saying that you're okay with Michael myers being shirtless if that's what people want LMFAOO tf man?
What i am saying is that whether I like a skin or not would just be my opinion. If the devs choose to make a skin and a lot of people like it, and it makes them enjoy the game more, who am I to say that it is wrong? Why don't you wait until they actually make a shirtless Myers before you start whining about it? Playing killer is your only option if you want to avoid those skins. If you want to play survivor too, you are going to have to figure out some way to deal with the fact that other people have different opinions than you do.

It doesn't matter what you want. The world does not revolve around you, despite what you were brought up to believe. If other people want it, and the devs want to give it to them, deal with it. They get to have opinions too. I'll tell you what, you can just play killer, then you will never have to see all those other skins. You can wear what you want and be happy.

Yeah if the majority wants a shirtless Myers skin they're wrong and it ruins the character. Ffs man a bunch of people wanted a scooby doo skin for demo. What the majority wants doesn't matter when they ask for silly things lol. "YOu BeN SpOiLed As A ChiLed" literally has nothing to do with this? The majority wants a shirtless Myers, doe it make it right? No that's disrespectful to the character and It'll ruin it. The majority complain about pinhead and nemesis being boring to face but never complain about nurse lmao. Also if you believe in God, does that make his existence real just because a bunch of people believe in him? Don't bring the majority here. Just because the majority believes something it doesn't make it true. The majority of players don't even make sense with just telling you how they complain about pinhead being boring but don't mention nurse lol
Now you are just repeating yourself. Saying the same things over and over does not make it true.
The majority complain about pinhead and nemesis being boring to face but never complain about nurse lmao
I just pointed out, in the thread you quoted how that wasn't true, yet you just repeated like you just said something new.
It is so funny how you can't apply your own logic to yourself
Just because the majority believes something it doesn't make it true
And as I have pointed out multiple times, just because you believe something doesn't make it true. And, yeah, you being spoiled as a child does have validity. You want what you want and don't care what others want. You believe what you believe a think that it is truth, when it is nothing more than opinion. Either someone in your life let you grow up thinking that way, or you just came here to argue and not listen to logic. Since you are now just repeating the exact same things over and over you are just extremely dense or are faking it to troll us. Either way I am done with this nonsense.

She has great mind game potential and map presence and is best used in a hit and run playstyle. Talking about her chase potential tells me that you are playing her wrong. I see a lot of people playing her wrong on youtube too. The only time they demanifest is to teleport. She has good chase potential in places that you can break line of sight on. If you are using manifest/demanifest correctly, people have no idea where you are. You should be demanifested most of the time, other than when you are attacking. If you just try to chase and loop like a regular m1 killer, then that is all you will get out of her.

Dude ffs man I didn't say you said that. IT'S SOMETHING I SAID JUST TO MAKE THINGS CLEAR. People will buy anything even if it's silly. Just because I'm in the minority it doesn't mean anything. People will literally buy a shirtless Myers if it was in the game oh get out of here bruh the majority, I bet you, they will buy anything lol. Ot does 100% ruin the character even if the majority like it. If you make shirtless Myers and everyone likes him, does it mean it's good for the characte? Everyone here I'm sure hates going against nemesis and pinhead even if they're both super iconic character and I honestly think that my way of thinking is better than the rest in that way simply because I do enjoy all these licenses and don't complain. The majority hates nemesis and complain about pinhead being boring to vs but never ever complain about nurse. Don't bring the majority to this conversation lol
If the majority of players like something, it most certainly means that it isn't "ruining the character". I keep trying to explain to you that just because you believe something doesn't make it true, but you can't seem to grasp that. You must have been so spoiled as a child to believe that what you think and want is what's right, and what the majority wants is wrong.
Everyone doesn't hate going against Nemesis and Pinhead, and you have no idea what the "majority" likes or doesn't. And to say that no one ever complains about the nurse is ridiculous. There have been several posts today hating on her.
Once again, for clarity, you believing something does not make it true. That is your opinion, nothing more. The most you can say is that you don't like it. Saying that it "ruins the character 100%" is trying to make it a fact, and that is not the case.
-
@Erd69 said:

Oh really? No sh. I'm not gonna tell people not to buy those skins but it doesn't take away the fact that these skins ruin the character. Ffs man we got people saying that an ice outfit for Michael Myers is a good idea. One dude found it to be a good idea to turn him into ghost rider lol
Maybe learn to read. Your comment doesn't even reflect what I said. Nowhere did I say anything about you telling people what not to buy. I said that your opinion does not reflect the opinion of the rest of the community. If people bought it, they like it and enjoy it. Therefore, it does not ruin the character. As I said, this game does not revolve around you. And just because you believe something doesn't make it true.

Limited range, when the killer has to maintain "map pressure", with 4 people that can cleanse them, would not work. It's an asynchronous 4 v 1 game, you can't treat both sides the same.
-
@HexDaddyissues said:
i think if the killer tunnels, face camps or babysits, they're fully deserving of all flashlight spam, t bagging what have you.
Like wise, if a survivor is a douche right off the bat and only exists to piss off the killer, they are deserving of alll tunneling, babysitting etc that ensues.
karma, or whatever its called.
Not the same. The devs have said right along that camping and tunneling are just good strategies, and then made it even more appealing by making their MMR system only consider kills for killers. Tunneling and face-camping gets kills. It is not bad manners to play the game the way the devs intended. Do I wish the devs would change that, absolutely, but until they do, this is what the game is. Survivors need to stop blaming the killers for this situation and put pressure on the devs to change the nature of the game so there are other, more rewarding ways for the killers to play.
-
I think they just need to discourage camping by making other playstyles more rewarding...starting with doing away with an MMR system that only tracks kills.
-
It's allowed because the devs consider it a valid tactic. They even made it more rewarding by making their new matchmaking system only track kills for killers rather than skilled gameplay.
-
It's the internet. people are going to talk ######### because there is no real-life consequence in doing so. And let's be fair, there are a lot of good players on both sides that don't do anything like that.
-
Funny how there are tons of videos and streams showing survivors escaping all the time. Maybe the problem is you.

It's not going to happen unless they are a bad killer, in which case it is no real feat to loop them for 5 gens. It's certainly not going to be a regular occurrence. The only time a good killer would do it would be after a hook, and they were concerned with borrowed time or DS. Or, maybe, if you are playing a character like Mikaela and they don't want to deal with boons, they may make you a priority target. Still, only a bad killer would chase you for 5 gens.

ITS NOT ABOUT ME USING THE SKIN. When I play survivor and it's a ghostface then its exciting but what ruins it is that it's the ice face ghostface because it ruins the character bruh DO YOU UNDERSTAND? Ofcourse I'm not gonna buy it. It's like the same thing they did with clown when they added a chicken outfit to him lmfao
You do realize that the game is not designed specifically for you, right? If someone is playing using that skin, that means they liked it enough to spend money on it, which means they have a different opinion on it than you do. It makes the game more enjoyable for them, so not ruined.
-
Optional skins that you don't have to play with, ruins nothing.

The problem is with matchmaking. There are going to be times when a skilled nurse player goes up against less skilled survivors.

It’s not a 50/50 at all. It’s around 90/10. As long as a Nurse lands their blinks correctly, there’s no play the survivor can do. With Spirit and Blight, they can do something against them and there’s actual chase interaction.
If she lands her blinks correctly then you already screwed up your counterplay. You counterplay needs to happen while she is blinking, or anticipating where she will blink beforehand. If she lands it, that took skill, and you failed to counter it. That's like saying that if the Huntress lands her hatchets correctly there is no counterplay. Once they have already hit there is no counter play. You need to avoid them before they "land correctly". If you get hit, you were outplayed.
The problem is the MMR system. Good nurse players are going to be very skilled, and likely will get matched against players that simply don't have the skill to counter her.
-
She was disabled because there was a bug that needed to be fixed, not because you didn't like playing against her. Bu was fixed, now she is back.
-
1) A bot as a replacement for a DC'd player would be great. As long as that person still got their penalty. This would eliminate the need for the others.
2) Maybe, as long as it takes everyone to the lobby to get a new player. If anyone leaves the lobby, they get a DC penalty. Otherwise I am not willing to wait in a long queue again to get another match. I'd rather play shorthanded for the match.
3) No. Once per day, eat the penalty. If you aren't abusing DC's it won't be that bad.
4) No. Same as 2. People DC far too often and I don't want to have to keep going back into the queue. Embrace the extra challenge. And the killer won't be bothered by it at all.
-
Devs fix the cheating? Definitely. Remove the DC penalty? Absolutely not.
-
Because the game was based around the resolution it has. Changing it gives you an advantage the developers did not intend for you to have. By your logic, why should anyone care about speed hacks? Both sides can benefit from them.
-
That is such a waste for Doctor. I don't think I have ever seen a face camping Doctor. It doesn't seem efficient or practical. Maybe as a last resort at the end of a match, but not as a general strategy. So, no, not a bargain bin Bubba.

No it won't be. Y'all forget the old matchmaking was just random. You weren't winning because you were good. It's because you 2 survivors who were good and 2 who were trash. And let's not forget the survivor games where you had to carry the whole team by yourself. How is that better?
It wasn't random, it was based on the emblem system which contained skill-based tracking. The problem was that it raised survivors too easily, so you had bad survivors that were ranked much higher than they should have been. All they needed to do was tweak the numbers and remove non-skill-based elements from the system and it would have been an actual skill based system. Now you still get large variances in player quality in matches due to them prioritizing queue times.
The bigger problem is that kills and escapes being the only priority has changed the nature of the game, for the worse. Killers have to play more aggressively, which most killers and survivors hate, and survivors play more selfishly, which makes playing survivor a lot less fun. It is killing the game.
-
It's simple, it is part of the hex system. The devs always meant for survivors to cleanse totems. Survivors have no problem cleansing active totems that are negatively affecting them, they are more than willing to bless totems to benefit them, but most are unwilling to cleanse dull totems to avoid NOED. NOED can be completely avoided if survivors cleanse totems. There are 4 survivors and 5 totems, it's not that difficult. I cleanse my share of dull totems but am not going to do it for the whole team. Everyone needs to contribute.
If they nerf or remove a perk simply because a group of people can't be bothered trying to counter it, that would send a bad message. At that point they would have to admit the totem system is a failure and remove it from the game and make the killers' totem perks permanent perks that can't be removed. I think killers would be fine with that.

I just find it boring I get it's a strategy thing but I find myself facing more and more killers with it so I've just come to think every killer brings.
So, you don't like facing it. You said it brings nothing to the table, and kind of acted like you were playing as a killer. That explains why the far worse killer perks didn't bother you. If you are a survivor and don't like playing against it, then it clearly does bring something to the table. It's popular because it is a perk that every killer can get some value out of. I really don't see it used that much. Nowhere near as much as DH, DS or other meta survivor perks. Some killers use it, some don't, some use it situationally.

If I see Corrupt at the beginning of the game, I hide in a corner until it finishes to counter this exactly. If everyone does that, then it offers no benefit to the killer at all unless they were running Lethal. I thought that was the proper way to counter it.
That's kind of risky. If everyone doesn't do that, then people could be getting chased for 2 minutes and you are not working on gens. Worse, one person is getting chased and no one is working on gens. Imagine running a killer for 2 minutes and getting hooked only to see no gens done. Also, that would give killers that need to set up traps or portals plenty of time to do that. That essentially plays right into the killer's hands, and the perk did what it was intended to do, slow down the early game.

Even if that person didn't do it infront of me, they would've done it regardless where they are on the map.
As I said, the way selfcare is currently gives players the incentive to heal themselves rather than to unhook a player. Increasing the time it takes to unheal yourself will be find as long as you limit to how many times you can do it. Just like Unbreakable, you can only do it one time(s).
Clearly you are new to the game and think that self care is a good perk. It is not. It is a newbie perk that most people stop using once they get used to the game. Just like some new players may think Technician is a good perk but will eventually outgrow it. Good players don't use self care, unless it is part of some niche healing build they are using. Self care is a waste of a perk slot, for the most part. Med kits are better. Relying on other survivors to heal you is better. Inner Strength is better. Circle of healing is way better. There are so many better perks that may help you avoid getting injured in the first place. And, unless the killer is camping the hook area, there is no reason to heal before making a rescue. Make the rescue and heal each other. Or heal individually by whatever means you prefer. That person was not healing in front of you because they needed to heal before rescuing you, they did it because they were being toxic. If someone heals with selfcare somewhere else before coming to rescue you when the killer is nowhere around, it is because they aren't a good player. It's not the fault of the perk. You don't change perks to curb the behavior of bad players. The only thing that makes it an OK perk is the fact that it has unlimited healing.
-
Not going to happen. It is already a poor perk to take with you. That player that was self caring under your hook was only doing it to troll you. There was zero reason for them to self-care before unhooking you when they were already there. Just someone being toxic for the fun of it.

It's not the losing that bothers me, it's a killer essentially ruining the game for a player(s) by taking them out of the game at the start and essentially wasting that persons time. Game are supposed to be fun aren't they?
Blame the devs. They not only didn't fix the gen time situation, they made it worse. The bigger problem is the SBMMR system that only considers kills. Tunneling a player out of the game will slow down the gens and make it easier to get additional kills. Yes, the devs do condone tunneling, and consider it a valid strategy. The same with camping. On the positive side, that's why Decisive Strike exists.
-
Look at the windows of your own house. If you had a large hammer, axe, knife, pipe, or whatever, don't you think you could hit someone standing on the other side? You could do it with your fist. Those aren't magic barriers that you are vaulting that protect you once you are on the other side.

Ye I know I know, and thats why I made this post.Because of how unfair matchmaking feels now since they made the game ''competitive''
Well i can not find fun in this new strategy,And I know on my post it seemed like im blaming my mates for not knowing, but is BHVR i blame.I wrote this months back and like i said sorry if someone is offended by my post.I didnt want to give the wrong messages is ,i was overwhelmed.
But in any case,I think i am not the only one facing this problem and I hope people take it into account.I used to enjoy this game so much.
Don't get me wrong, it is Behavior's fault for creating the situation, but the other survivors deserve some blame too. They choose to play that way. You can still help your teammates and do gens and escape. I agree, the game is far less fun these days. The devs really messed up with the way they implemented the new SBMMR system, by being too lazy to actually use skill-based elements. It's bad for killers and survivors, and the matchmaking still sucks.
