  • I was once the last survivor left and the killer wouldn't let me die. That was extremely frustrating. He downed me, then picked me up and took me into an corner and hold onto me until I struggled loose, but because I was blocked in, I couldn't get far, and he would down me again and do the same thing. After several goes at this I stopped struggling, hoping that he would get that I didn't want to continue. Instead he just kept carrying me around. I assumed that he would get bored, but after about 10 minutes of that nonsense I just DC'd. It's hard to imagine someone that intent on ruining someone else's game that they would waste all that time to do it. That was not recent, however, but I thought I would share. :)

I occasionally see toxic people in chat, but not often, and when I do, I report it. For the most part, though, it's just gg's all around or nothing at all. I can't remember the last time I saw a killer be toxic in chat.

  • You don't need to show mercy, but it is nice when killers do, especially in situation like when other survivors DC early in the game. Your example, though, is not about showing mercy. Camping is a pretty cheap tactic and ruins the match for that person. If you want to camp a generator, that's fine, there are others to work on.

  • I have done it on occasion. If I am just hanging there and my teammates are on the other side of the map and not even going to try and rescue me, then there is no point sticking around. Thankfully that doesn't happen all that often. I might also do it if being camped. That's not fun for anyone but the killer, and if I am just being used as bait to kill the rest of the team, I have no problem sacrificing myself for the good of the team. Since I now frequently run kindred, it is less of an issue. In fact, if the rest of my team sees that I'm being camped and works on gens, I will hang on for the entire time, to waste as much of the killer's time as possible and let my team complete as many objectives as possible.

  • There are toxic individuals in every community, but the majority of players are not. If their attack on you was unjustified, report them. Even if justified, if it was overly abusive, report them. That's what that feature is there for.

Using the bad actions of a few as an excuse to be toxic yourself is not justifiable. And you being more toxic is going to create toxicity among those that weren't before. That's the thing with toxicity, it can spread if unchecked. Don't be that person.

This is a battle sadly us killers will never win. The survivor base will tell you the games fine the way it is, and sWF's isn't overpowering and is perfectly balanced and fair. ESPECIALLY on console... 😂🤦‍♂️

Not true. I currently play survivors, and I agree that voice chat would be overpowering. The game was designed around the survivors not being able to communicate, so voice chat is unbalancing. The problem is finding a way to balance that without negatively impacting those that don't swf.

  • Taking jabs at survivors, as if it is ALL survivors that are doing it, is not the right way to go.

Did you ever stop to think how the remaining survivors feel when their teammates disconnect? It is frustrating as hell. You know you aren't going to survive, but you play it out anyway.

I have never seen 4 people DC in a single game, so maybe it was a legit connection issue, or maybe they were swf and made the decision to all do it together. It certainly isn't the norm to see 4 survivor DC's, though I hope they do find a way to implement a proper penalty. Just make sure to report the DC's. If nothing else maybe they can look at the players histories to see if it is a habit, and punish them accordingly.

  • They certainly don't need to be nerfed anymore than they have been. Also, I don't consider a nerf, that makes surviors easier to find and kill, a simple "quality of life" change.

  • There are always some frustrating teammates, but some are far worse that others.

In one game there was three of us left and I got hooked. Neither was coming to get me and were fairly far away, but it was my first hook, so I had time. One was moving, but the other was just crouching on the opposite side of the map, doing nothing. The one that was moving ultimately got downed and then hooked. The other person was still crouching and made no attempt to save either of us. My only guess is that they found the hatch and was waiting for us to die so they could escape.

In another game I heard the killer coming quickly so I ducked behind some barrels in a corner. The killer ends up downing a player on the other side of the barrels. There was no way that I could move, so I waited. The killer didn't pick them up right away and stood there watching as this player crawls around the barrels, bringing the killer right to me. They didn't even try to recover, so there would have been nothing I could have done to help them. So we both get hooked.

  • Yes, it is possible that a lit totem spawns near a survivor, but it is possible that it won't. Sometimes they are found early, but sometimes they are not found at all. It's all random. There seems to be a great deal of exaggeration on how often they are found that early. It happens, but is certainly not a regular occurrence.

There are many survivor perks that are equally affected by the randomness of the game. They are situationally great, but if that situation doesn't present itself it's a wasted perk slot. it's a gamble and you just have to judge the risk vs reward for yourself.

One thing that I did think about was to somehow make the other totems more valuable. Maybe make it so the hex can be replaced on an different totem after a set period of time. That would make destroying unlit totems more worthwhile for the survivors. There would, of course, have to be some counterbalance to this. Maybe requiring an additional perk. Maybe diminishing negative effects on generators. Maybe having to find an unused totem and placing it manually. etc...

Obviously not a fully thought out plan, just a thought on possibly making use of the remaining totems. Maybe others with a better understanding of game balance can find something to work with there...or maybe it's just a stupid idea. :)
