As for the movie, I agree with everything you've said, especially with number 1. Making him an innocent man would be such a good twist for the story, and it would give him a very powerful desire for revenge, which could be explored in many different ways. And I was pissed that they removed his daughter from the story. I just really like Katherine Krueger.
Back to DBD, take a look at his first nerf:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/YZ8KLZPB55Q3/image.png
And I agree, all he needed were a few buffs and QoL changes, not a full rework. Maybe one day we will have the opportunity to play as Old Freddy again. That is what I truly want.
All he really needed was his nerf reverted with a few changes. He would have been fun, plus no one had anything against him :/

I actually agree. I know I called the remake #########, but I didn't outright despise it like many others did. I just wish the producers did some things differently.
- Make Freddy actually innocent. The movie kind of sets this up as a "What If?" but then completely goes back on it and makes Freddy evil. Honestly I think it would have been a cool plot twist if Freddy actually was innocent, and was wrongly accused.
- Kill off Nancy and make Quentin the main character. Quentin was actually one of my favorite parts of the film, because he helped breath some life into it. Similar to point number 1, I think it would have made an interesting plot twist if Freddy actually succeeded in killing Nancy off half way through the movie, and it was left up to Quentin to fight Freddy.
- For gods sake, get rid of the awful CGI. Amazing practical effects have always been a staple of A Nightmare On Elm Street, and seeing the movie have a ######### ton of crappy looking blood and other effects like the classic shot of Freddy pressing his face through Nancy's wall really breaks the immersion.
Obviously a lot of this goes against the og film, but honestly imo that's would have made it enjoyable. I hate remakes of classic movies because they always feel like crappier versions of the originals. That's part of the reason why I like the Friday The 13th remake because it completely changed Jason from being a slow lumbering guy in a mask, to a fast agile hunter. There are still a lot of other things wrong with the movie, but at least it tried (And Succeeded In My Opinion) in adding it's own twist to Jason. I really wish they would have done that with Freddy too.
Back to dbd, I also wasn't around for Freddy's release, so I don't know what the actual nerf was, but I'm pretty sure it was just basic number tweaks to parts of his power.
And honestly, I just don't think reworks will work in dbd. Regardless of how many people say _____ killer sucks, there are always going to be people who enjoy playing them, and will be mad that their mains power is getting completely scrapped. And in case of Freddy, the rework backfired insanely hard and he became one of the most hated killers in the game, as well as pissing of the Old Freddy mains. I really just wish they would have just given him some small buffs and QoL changes instead of flying off the handle and erasing his power entirely.
I actually liked the 2010 remake of the movie (despite me preferring the originals) but your ideas would have made the remake way better and interesting.
-
I like it tbh, it's possible that it might shift the meta. The same perks over and over again are just boring to go against, so I can't wait to play with and against Lucky Break.
-
Funnily enough this rework idea isn't far off from the one BHVR did.
Did they listen to you? :O
-
Twins being nerfed is peak BHVR move in this patch. I like most of the other changes in this patch but damn w h a t.
The other Twins changes are good though.
-
That should be a feature tbh
Unfortunately the best you could do is gift him a digital Steam card since they have that feature on there, but I saw what you said and damn, that sucks :/

It's barely a play style when the killer could be applying gen pressure and getting other survivors instead of camping someone while the others do gens.
Hate to say it, but yeah facecamping instead of applying pressure is a playstyle, and applying pressure and getting survivors downed is also a playstyle. It's a bad playstyle but it counts as one.
-
I don't agree with some of the nerfs but for a low skill cap, he was too strong. He was pretty much just a better Clown with slowdown addons and a teleportation ability.
-
The Freddy changes are a bit too overboard, but they're not bad, in fact they're pretty good and I can't wait to try him out. Also the new Demo is gonna be fun, I hope there'll be more to him though. Twins nerf was unnecessary tbh but I'm glad they gave them better iri addons. This update's gonna be sweet.
-
I think Freddy needed a nerf but they went a little too overboard on this one. They should have left his dream pallet count alone mostly, and I feel like 4.0m/s is a little too low. 4.4m/s would have been fine for placing dream snares. I think it'll be safe to say that Clown is officially the better anti-looper unless they revert these changes or give him buffs.
-
If anyone votes no, could you please explain why?

Uh, wrong site mate.

It's a decent perk, though IMO I would prefer running Autodidact without perks that increase healing speed (except Spine Chill) so that you get the most out of it. However you can actually run Spine Chill and Resilience w/ Autodidact for skill check luck, faster healing speed, and faster vault speed, though I like running Autodidact alone or with Second Wind.
-
Body is 1 character too short.
-
The Kate Vinyl Doll one has to be my favorite. Just look at it, it's too coot.
-
I love Midwich but I hate it at the same time, but I'm leaning towards the 'love' end because it's one of my favorite maps in the game. IMO it's one of the most well-designed maps in the game but that's just me opinion.
-
Definitely Spirit nerf-wise, I want them to make it so survivors are able to tell when she's phasing or not. It would raise her skill ceiling as well.
Myers needs a complete rework, he's outdated compared to GF.

Rats...

I hate how many people genuinely think like this. Is it even trolling if you're talking like a basic survivor main?
I wish I was lying, but there are so many people that are like this unironically on the DBD Steam forums.

Built to Last is surprisingly funzo.
It really is! It's one of my favorite survivor perks out there, it's really good for toolboxes and med-kits.
-
Perks: Spine Chill, Resilience, Dead Hard, and Built to Last.
Item and Add-ons: Engineer's Toolbox with a Brand New Part and Wire Spool.
Offering: A map offering of your choice (preferably Strode Realty Key for Haddonfield) or just none at all
Spine Chill for info and extra vault speed along with Resilience which not only gives vault speed but faster gen repair time when injured. Dead Hard to handle being injured, Engineer's Toolbox for super repair speeds along with BNP and Wire Spool, and Built to Last as the cherry on top to compliment that toolbox.
Honestly you can just use DH and BtL and switch out the other two with whatever you'd like.
-
Rank 1
Clown
I love his gameplay, he's SUPER fun. He has a higher skill ceiling after his rework and is one of the big brain-required killers like Trapper for example. It's always satisfying to get hits with both antidotes and tonics in a shack loop. Heavily underrated killer and everyone should give him a shot, even if he looks boring. While Blight was my favorite killer previously, I grew more fond with Clown because he was the first killer I mained when I first played DBD in 2018.
Favorite add-ons: Smelly Inner Soles (Rare) (This one compliments his faster reload speed!) and Party Bottle (Common) (This add-on has no effect other than the cool confetti it gives to the bottles, which is what I love about it, just a silly meme add-on!)
Here's what my Clown looks like (Thanks @Phasmamain for the idea!):
I'm currently using the Chicken Clown outfit, but this is my favorite cosmetic combination for him.
-
I usually have to start off by saying I'm a killer main.
Ruin Undying was heavily unbalanced and needed to be nerfed. It gave killers undeserved wins, hell I admit there are times I didn't deserve to win while running the two before the Undying rework. Spine Chill and Iron Will are fine (Iron Will is reasonably controversial). Iron Will has screwed me over many times, but it's not unhealthy for the game. I think the combo of Iron Will + Lucky Break is a lot more heavy than Spine Chill + Iron Will because I don't see how Spine Chill synchronizes with Iron Will the way Ruin does with Undying.

I also run Spine Chill all the time and I agree that it gives free information without having to be wary of your surroundings. Honestly? Spine Chill does too much. Giving information, increasing the number of skill checks you receive and speeding up all your actions is crazy. They should at least reduce the range on it since it currently activates when the Killer isn't even that close, for many its outside of their terror radius.
I agree, Spine Chill's range being reduced would make the perk a lot more reliable. This is similar to how Whispers tier 3 is more accurate than tier 1 because it lights up when you're closer to a survivor in tier 3, but lights up when you're 48 metres way from a survivor in tier 1.

a really poor choice if you ask me
No you're right, it is a poor choice. There are better playstyles, but they have the right to play how they want.

I don't know, actively choosing to suck the fun out of a game does seem like a dick move to me...
True, but you don't know if it's their intentions or not, which is why I consider it a boring playstyle.

facecamping is still a dick move, most players dont even do it to win. they just do it to make the game miserable for one specific person
It's not a dick move, it's a playstyle, a REALLY boring one for both sides, but it's their choice on how they want to play.
-
I usually do it to waste the killer's time so that the other survivors have time to reach the exit gates.

I know this is rough to tell you, but this isn't gonna catch on. You'll get maybe a 100 views if you're lucky, not a lot of people like to read this type of stuff, which is a real shame.
I made a post on this account not too long after I made it 10 months ago that was similar to this one.
No one commented on it :(
-
Ehh... I'm not a fan of them. Nothing against Tru3 ofc, I'm just not a fan of these changes.
-
I do recall BHVR having a survey or something for DBD that had the question with something like "what characters would you like to see in DBD" and Anime was one of the options, correct me if I'm wrong.

Toad is kewl. I play Toadette if I'm in the mood for lightweight I guess.

IMO it's only toxic if they click or teabag at the exit gates, that's when it's REALLY bm.

Don't give up, no matter what! You can still do it!

idk if you knew this or not but ima enlighten you. Behaviour hasn't released what is considered a win. We wont go deeep into that because its a dark void. Point made if i consider a win to be a 4k then let me.
I mean, you can consider a 4k a win, but you can't let us consider the fact that you were at fault for being greedy for that 4k and wasting everyones' times?
-
I know, right? She's soooo weak now. Let's give her 115% speed, a secondary ability that allows her to phase, a third one that allows her to wield a chainsaw, a fourth one that puts survivors in the dream world, a fifth one that gives her slowdown bottles, 5 blinks, a sixth one that allows her to wield ANOTHER chainsaw, maximum blink range in her base-kit, the ability to cancel blinks easily, a SEVENTH ability that allows her to teleport to generators, 24 metre terror radius, and an EIGHTH ability that allows her to go to stealth mode. And bam, Nurse is powerful again!

It is? I heard he was bugged but didn't know what it was. All I knew is the nerf to his movement speed while uncloaking made the increased lunge while coming out trash.
Yeah, that's the bug.
-
Well uhh... okay then.
Honestly if I were you I would have just hooked the Kate instead of being greedy for the 4k.
-
Probably a popular choice, but I can't wait to see the Thompson House in its finished state.
-
IMO it's a great perk for beginner killers who are only on the learning curve, but a bad perk for experienced killers because it requires less skill to use and doesn't allow for more learning. NOED is powerful for experienced killers, but you won't learn anything if you've played for a while and still continue to use it (unless you're just doing an endgame build). NOED is unnecessary for experienced killers because they know how to play and get kills without it, and is just a crutch for those who've played for a while. If you've just started playing DBD, NOED is almost a must-run on every killer you play. Plus it's free so ynot

Yes, it works.
Pharmacy works on the first chest its used on. Doesn´t matter if its a closed or a opened chest.
That's good to know, though I kinda wish Pharmacy had 1 token of Appraisal in its kit on already opened chests (only on the first try for the opened chests though).

So to be clear, so I’m understanding correctly, if the first chest I come across is an already open one, using my first token of Appraisal won’t guarantee a green med kit because of Pharmacy?
Pharmacy definitely only works on chests that haven’t been searched?
That's a... good question. I haven't tried that out yet.
-
Holy :O
It's really sweet to know that there's older fellas that play this game!
-
Yeah, I've tried it before. Unfortunately, it only gives the green med-kit on the first search. The first rummage on the chest you opened won't count either, meaning you can't get double green med-kits.
-
It's not a bad combo, but I'd much prefer running Resilience alone with or without a med-kit. Hell, Pharmacy with Resilience would be an overall better combo because green med-kits are stronger than SC despite it being a one-time use, and with Resilience it's 89% (80 from Pharmacy) faster to open chests while injured.
Also in your situation, SC + Desperate Measures (+14% faster speed for healing and altruistic actions for your injured status up to +56% depending on each survivor being injured, hooked or downed)/Botany Knowledge (always 33% for healing) would be WAY better.
-
Corn.
-
THICC.
-
Nurse is easier to learn, harder to play. Blight is harder to learn, easier to play. Both are difficult killers though, I'd say Blight because learning him is a lot more fun than learning Nurse but they're both fun killers.
