It's probably chosen through the same process as everything else, a dartboard.
-
Idk why its disabled but I wouldn't be remiss to see it gone for good tbh.
-
it's not bannable and as far as I know, the devs don't seem to care much, frankly, I don't really either if you're willing to look at the horrible abomination that is stretched res then you deserve the slight advantage it gives you in like 5% of tiles

I knew it was somewhere over 10 years. I couldn't think of the exact number of perks and didn't factor in base release perks. Either way it would take a lot longer than the devs seem to make it sound.
I do think it would be a fair amount of work to basically redo bloodwebs but who knows how good their solution will end up being.
They wouldn't really even need to redo the blood web that much to remove perk tiers since perk spawns would stay the same just fewer of them.
Also there are currently 191 perks according to the wiki, that's 573 perk tiers to max out just 1 survivor and 1 killer. that 15.9 years number is also based on if bhvr releases 6 perks every chapter or averages out to 6 perks per chapter so its not an exact number, regardless though I highly, HIGHLY doubt this game will still be supported let alone popular come even 10 years down the line so the bs about it not being a permanent solution is a horrible excuse imo.
-
Well so much for that backfill problem they supposedly solved with the mid-chapter.

We can only dream that in this year and age, game with default 87 FOV would be considered a sick joke that it is
It's awful.
-
Oh man I love all the QoL changes especially the one where they made an FOV slider and changed shadowborn, oh wait.

Y'all are too easily triggered... Iet the players use what they want. The patch has only been out for a few hours lol. Chill. Chill.
So you want killers to just accept these perks and not play around them?
-
@FixtionuL said:
I do think removing perk tiers is the best thing before a total permanent solution is implemented. It's taken 6ish years to get to the amount of perks we are at. So remove 2/3rds of the grind and it would take like 12 years to get back to where we are at. Only 3 new perks per role instead of 9 perk tiers.
It would actually take almost 16 years since the game came with around 50 to 60 perks and bhvr hasn't been releasing killers and chapters every 3 months for its entire history but now that they do release roughly 6 perks every 3 months it'd take like 15.9 years to catch up to the current perk count now.
-
Events in this game are historically pretty lame in all honesty so I honestly don't even see how Events in dbd get people excited like it's just more of the same with extremely little extra to do thats different and it's usually pretty boring and unrewarding.
-
Idk but I wouldn't be remiss if both swamp maps got deleted. I'd vastly prefer less but better maps then more "variety" that is awful.
-
its pretty awful
-
Yeah, the mobile version has some things in it that PC and console players have been asking for years for. Makes you wonder why that is till you remember its a different company that makes and supports the mobile version.

I don't understand why this killer is so OP and nobody says anything. The turns he makes are absurd, practically impossible to escape. And why doesn't his power have a cooldown? Honestly facing any player with the least skill with this killer is very frustrating. A killer with high mobility and easy damage. Amazing how this game is so unbalanced.
please at least play the killer or look at his wiki page before trying to complain about his power to understand why what you said makes no sense

I had a game against a nurse that ended with the nurse getting first hook in the basement, 4 gens left and the killer decided to proxy camp the survivor, I decided to just quit, I wasn't in the mood for that type of lazy gameplay. I had another game where I had to wait for a demo to find the hatch first before hooking me, because he was afraid I would wiggle off, before any killer mains comment, no I did not have a wiggle build. I just can't figure out why killers are so desperate for 4ks, are the devs giving away cash prices, when did this game become so toxic, can I get a normal game without killers playing like there lives depend on it
how are you gonna simultaneously say that killers are playing lazy and like their lives depend on it in the same paragraph? Like you gotta realize how hypocritical that is right?

Fog Whisperers. They literally are not allowed to say that.
I mean yeah fog whisperers aren't allowed to be overly critical of bhvr on anything that's how they became fog whisperers. They aren't lying they just aren't saying as much as they could or being as harsh as some probably want to.

I only play with friends. So that's pretty easy. The grab ones arnt so bad either. Chase around pallets until you get a grab.
those are doable but for some you have to grab off gens.
-
Uhh no, you just need more practice with it and learn when to use DH in chase.

Which ones did you hate the most
Killer wise I hated the grab ones, I dont think I've completed one that had to do with grabbing 2 survivors while using discordance or something. On the survivor side Ace's journey gave me a lot of issues and I think there was one where you had to be on the gen when it popped while in the killers radius twice in the same match, never finished that one either.
A lot of the survivor challenges become a lot easier if you have some friends to do them with but my friends all stopped playing because they got sick of the grind.

Haha. It's BHVRS own fault for making killer feel so #########.
Same. I only recently starting doing tomes after a year of playing. So I'm only on Tome 1- Part 2. The survivor ones will take a bit
Good ######### luck mate, some of those are god awful.

but, how will streamers and content creators advertise the coming content if they just rushed it live? At least with calling it the PTB, the streamers and content creators look like they are playtesting, which brings them more views. They make it look fun and great generating DBD more customers/players. And all they had to do was release the content early, but is it early? When we all know when the PTB tends to go live anyways.
If I call a duck a chicken, it's surprising how many people find it a chicken.
I garuntee that almost none of the major streamers and content creators would mind the ptb not existing as long as new content coming out wasnt bug filled. Their views go up no matter what when new content comes out. That's how it works.
Idk why you are getting angry, trying to ######### on or to blame content creators for a problem that solely lies with bhvr.

What. You don't like 10 minute survivor ques. But instant killer ques ? 😂
Lmao is certainly making harder to try and get my survivor archives done. At least I'm a killer main but I recognize it's a massive problem.
-
I'd agree with a slightly nerfed PGTW maybe down to 15 to 20%.
-
OP and abusable are 2 different things, neither are good and often times something is both. In this case I'd say it's abusable but not OP since it only works in some areas in some maps so it's way too niche to be OP imo but in those areas on those maps then yeah its absolutely abusable and ######### to do intentionally.
-
It's money, the majority of the linked sets have atleast one piece that wouldn't clip with anything, some make sense as a full set like the skins that change the whole character like Cybil or Chris but every other set is only a full set because of money.

So now survivors are using this perk with RPD or Eirie offerings to stay in a high area and wiggling out with Boil over, then coming back up and staying there. Why isn't this reportable as taking games hostage?
And if I slug them, they will spam my steam profile by calling me trash, slugger, and a lot more insults. On the PTB there was a lot of feedback on this perk but none of it was heard. Can you please revert decrease the gains of the perk????
Bold of you to assume that even if it was reportable that people would actually get banned.
-
I dont really think spirit is that bad anymore, but I also don't think her tweak really fixed the problem just made it less annoying.
Also she isn't 75% invisible, she's totally invisible just with a slight sound que(which if sound in this game worked properly I'd say is a great addition but it doesn't so it's meh). She didn't become 25% visible, sorry I know that was just a small portion of your post but it irked me.

To me she is. Just wish everyone can accept the fact that I love her.
you can love her all you want but when you say that she is the most universally fun killer you are trying to say that your opinion represents at least a decent amount of the community and frankly trying to say the rest of the community likes playing as and playing against spirit is just false and she's not even close to being universally loved from either side.

Most need a buff but I dont think they need a rework just some number changes

I guess having an opinion = bait. Ladies and gentlemen, this is 2022.
I mean c'mon, you've been on the forums for awhile(judging by your post count) there is no way you forgot how hated she use to be and she's really not that much better to go against now after her tweaks and addon changes. I also find it a great testament to how much people miss old billy by how many people came to this post expecting him, RIP my boy.
-
kinda hoping they just retool demo's model into being a werewolf tbh and you can just replace demo's portals with burrows and anything killer instinct related to just vague predatory senses, and the shred you can keep the same and make him howl instead of scream.

Spirit is a great killer that is fun for both sides. So why doesn’t anyone play her? Like I said, she’s fun, fair, and has interesting add ons that change up the way she plays. Her kill rate and pick rate has dropped significantly in this most recent killer stats chart which is saddening to see.
I guess I kind of do understand why people don’t play her anymore, it’s because of the nerf that barely impacted anything except the stand still mind game. It’s been 3 months since that nerf hit live and I still am doing fine with her.
I had to post this because I don’t think I’ve seen Spirit as survivor in like a month and that’s not ok.
I don't feel like many people find spirit all that much fun to play against tbh, you might but I don't think it's really universal.

Otherwise just play another game. There's a great post on the forums explaining if you guys can't comprehend it.
all the explanations and defense of the devs decision does nothing to change how MMR feels when put in place. You can say that MMR makes perfect sense from a devs point of view but if it makes the game feels significantly worse then it doesn't matter you will still continue to lose players and not gain them back. That post is basically a guy defending the helmsmen's decision to swerve from the iceberg on the Titanic while the ship is already sinking.

Thats an absolutely gigantic team, thats not just one of the biggest in canada, thats one of the biggest in the world. Especially considering theyre indy. The wages alone must cost them a fortune, DBD must pull in tonnes of cash.
Just to put that into perspective
Naughty Dog has 569 Employees - create some of the best games ever
Santa Monica has around 250 - best game ever made
Insomniac has around 400 - they put out spiderman and ratchet and clank within a year apart, both amazing games
Sucker punch has 160 - GOT
Guerrilla Games - 360 - horizon + probably working on killzone
343 Industries - 450 - halo
Polyphony Digital - 170 - they make hundreds of photo realistic cars
Playground Games around 200 - forza
Its CRAZY
puts the amount of content they put out and how many bugs bugs they have into some perspective huh

@StarLost said:
Or...well, anyone else that wants to try this.
So, this is what I'll be doing - in an attempt to both improve my game and also as an interesting experiment. A little challenge that should work for anyone from the lowest to the highest MMR.
It's designed to:
- Improve my fundamentals.
- Get better at chasing, gamesense and skill use on all killers I own, not just my favorites.
- Give me and my opponents a more varied experience.
- Improve my tracking of hook states across all survivors.
- Give everyone a more 'fun' game.
The rules:
1. I can play as hard as I like early on. However, I am not permitted to kill any survivors until *everyone* is on their death hook. If I accidently violate this rule, I must let all remaining survivors escape on 2 hooks. Suicides and DCs are not my fault though.
2. No camping unless all 5 gens are done and all four survivors remain.
3. I'll be starting as Trapper. I have to play Trapper until I 'win'.
4. After I win (note: a win is defined as sacrificing a minimum of 3 survivors. Games with a DC, suicide or AFK do not constitute a win) I have to switch to the next killer I own, proceeding linearly along the list, from left to right and from top to bottom. When I win as the last killer on my list, I go back to Trapper.
5. All perks and addons are acceptable.
6. Slugging is only permitted if it's to move directly to another chase, or to prevent DS/flashlight saves etc. Mass slugging is not permitted.
At the end of the lunar event, we all post our rough experiences in this thread. What was our win/loss ratio, and how survivors reacted to this playstyle, particularly in postgame.
Who's in?
in response to this im gonna reinstall only to play bubba with noed, deadlock, corrupt, and insidious and will be exclusively camping and slugging and see how many kills I get on average per game
-
even if you did everything right, probably wouldn't matter tbh

Like anything will happen to them anyway. Accounts are dirt cheap and people have made hundreds of accounts when dbd was free on epic games. Lets hope whatever they did to try and combat cheaters can be a semi fix to where they have a live system to detect "this person is moving faster than normal for x amount of time without x perks or medkit addon"
true kinda doubt it though tbh

My assumption is that the amount of resources (staff, code, bandwidth) it would take to fix the issues with the report system are, corporately speaking, better put towards things that will earn revenue and draw in new players.
It's the same reason a game health chapter is never happening. It's just not high enough on the priority list.
What do you mean? I thought they could do it all at the same time and don't need a game health chapter, while their game has more bugs than a landfill and hackers that bend their game over and do the dirty on the daily.
-
@Laluzi said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2768168#Comment_2768168
It's absolutely pathetic. This game is almost 6 years old, has hundreds of thousands of active players, and the in-game report function does nothing unless you're reporting a chat offense. It's not even clear that it does nothing, so most players don't understand that they need to be taking supplemental actions and using third-party software in order to report cheaters and hostage-takers.
That is a huge issue and BHVR has repeatedly demonstrated a lack of interest in fixing it.
You would think they could at least see pure data things like "huh, this guy got hooked 136 times that match, that's not right" or "this survivor moved 60 meters in 2 seconds while in the dying state" or "this survivor escaped the match while 5 generators were left" or "all four survivors died 7 seconds into the match" or "this killer's power was not the one that killer is supposed to have."
Honestly, it's probably not a lack of interest and more a lack of competency. Either in management or staff or both, I don't know but something isn't working at bhvr that's for sure.
-
@Mandy said:
The buttons are not "dummy buttons" first of all, they flag the match so that we can see it really took place.
The video evidence for hacking/cheating is definitely required, and we do not ban unless there is very clear evidence of the cheat.
(edit to add: could also have found a key in a chest on the map, this will not show in the end screen).
So unless you have some form of recording software, the report buttons are just dummy buttons? Is that right?
-
@FriendlyBubba said:

I don't have video proof since I'm playing on Xbox and Switch. I know seeing is believing so take this with a grain of salt.
I faced hackers who did a hook animation hack, flying in air, running as Sonic the Hedgehog and healing themselves and other survivors from the ground in nanoseconds. The 2 worst hackers that I played against were the one who took the game hostage and forced me to leave the match which, of course, penalized me.
Welp without video evidence then absolutely nothing will happen to them
-
Like as in just making the current versions of them base kit? No thank you. A nerfed or modified version of them maybe but I'd have to see it.

Unfortunately, in the last Q&A, they basically confirmed that they will never, ever change this, because they gave a flat no for a match replay system.
If the game won't record that data, then they're going to continue asking the players to do it for them.
It's honestly a little pathetic like I get not having a replay system for someone to just go and grab the data of since with how many matches happen in this game that'd be a lot of data to hold onto but they should still be detecting the movements and actions of the players in each match.
