It's a bit silly to apply what the very vocal minority of survivors are saying to just 'survivors' in general. And any dev worth their salt isn't going to make changes based on said very vocal minority only two weeks after probably the biggest update meta-wise the game has ever recieved.
Plus some of the survivor criticism is perfectly valid. Tunnelling and camping are now for the most part easier. Solo queue is overall harder as it still needs QoL additions. I've seen a lot of people on this forum dismiss valid criticism under the pretense of 'oh you just need to get actually good lol can't rely on DH now' and it's so annoying, especially when it's aimed at survivors that have never even run the sodding thing.
tbf I haven't played many games this patch but every other game has had a survivor kill themselves on their first hook. as killer I don't even run addons 9 times out of 10 and only 1 or 2 slowdowns.

Played one match against a legion and all my teammates just gave up. Very fun match

Are you joking? (it's hard to tell on these forums). It's obviously hackers.
The sad part is that the stupid broken ######### in this game is so broken its hard to tell if someone is hacking or not
-
from what i've seen of the map (haven't played since before it was changed) but seems like more good windows but fewer good pallets.

Throw out her current kit and give her a new one. I don't see how you make teleporting good but not op. Genuinely don't know how you'd find a good middle ground with her current kit.

While I understand the standpoint, I don't get why NOW we are talking about this? With a meta change around the corner and plenty of changes with that (ye even the off the record) would it not be wiser to focus on THAT rather than divert the developers attention to something else? It just seems to be scattering the focus all over the place instead of being consistent. She'll be changed like the others eventually but we have to keep the focus on the present changes on the way first. Again, this is MY point of view, I want to make that clear, I rather the developers do things correctly and take their time on the present than randomly "oh god oh god fix Nurse for us right now!" all of a sudden. No, I'm not a killer main nor am I survivor main, I play Billy and enjoy a good bit casual swf with my pals over the week.
Please keep it civil with responses as I won't reply to nasty ######### if its posted.
Nurse has been a problem since her release she's never been balanced ever. They tried to nerf and rework her slightly but it hasn't done enough. At this point they need to completely change what her power is to ever bring her in line.

Draga would be too strong otherwise, saving one of the locks on double lockers for later use is some weird balance mechanic thet come up with. At least it seems that way
No it wouldn't he's pretty weak as it is from what I've seen I don't think this would move him up a whole lot and just seems like unnecessary extra counter play

Legacy cosmetics were given out at a time where the bloodwebs were massive, where you didn't make so many points per match, where there were no 100% BP offerings or Events etc. So it was a lot harder to reach Prestige during that time, especially as the game had only been out a few months.
Legacy cosmetics will not be returning.
I'm fine with that but why even add a "reward" that's so bad you added an option to turn it off? Like I'm at least glad the option was there(wish there was one for the chat filter too) but it's such a minor reward that you could barely call it a reward.

As a blight billy and wraith main yes it was and it was good for wraith but I still hated that map. Not the worst indoor map but that's a low bar to clear.

People like doing it and other people also find it funny it's not hard to understand

The reason they are making that stupid sound is utterly irrelevant. If somehow there was a way to generate a constant loud white noise in the game it would also need to be fixed.
the flashy clicks are not that annoying(not annoying to me at all) my guy and although it bugs you its fun for others

It is not.
The growth came from the fact that every time a character comes out not only is there 1 more character to grind, but that character's stuff now has to be grinded on every other character, which gets worse and worse withe very update because there are more and more characters getting more and more stuff to unlock.
With the new system, it is linear. Each new character released needs to be prestige 3 times, and that is all the grinding done for the new content. No more going back to older characters and unlocking the newer content.
They should have just made the BP bonus from BBQ/WGLF base kit. They shouldn't have added the 50k cost to prestige and maybe considered shrinking blood webs a bit. Like reducing the cost of 0-50 from around 1.6 million to 1.2-1.4 million
Did you read my comment I said it wasn't as exponential anymore, suppose I should have clarified that it wasn't exponential anymore but the upfront cost is now higher to unlock those perks especially if you want all the t3 versions. I completely agree with your last point though
-
@c0gnu5 said:
Because they wanted to address the fact that grind is growing exponentially with each dlc, and removing perk tiers is not solving this problem.
their current solution doesn't really help much either though its just less of an exponential growth, the grind is still gonna be hyper time consuming and is nowhere near the 75% drop in the grind that was advertised
-
@socalfusions said:
Lmao bro is crying about macro clickers when killers are camping/tunneling casual players out of the game and making them decide to drop the game entirely, bet he's still gonna cry about macros next update when killers got 10% better everything and casual solo que players get destroyed even more until none want to play the game anymore.
The game's grind pushes people away far more often than camping in my experience, and the upcoming changes probably aren't gonna help new players much either especially without BP perks. Also, kill rates are down enough to give blanket killer buffs, so if you're whining right now that tells a lot about you

The noise is very annoying. It's not like putting a frequency limit would require much work.
The best change though would be to lose 1% or 2% charge with each click. That way would not affect normal players and the ones using some software to reach these speeds would only be annoying for a couple of seconds.
It annoying you is why people do it, like tbagging with extra steps

Not even a good filter either

Red ranks don't exist anymore my guy, your rank isnt used for matchmaking anymore so it means nothing, so really the problem is that its very difficult to get a perfect game with MMR

16 seconds is literally nothing compared to the 30 seconds or more it would take to find the totem and snuff it out, where I as a Killer literally can't multitask. The Survivors can just have 1 dedicated Boon totem guy that always blesses totems, 1 guy who does chases and 2 people who genrush.
I don't have 2 Killers, they have four people. They waste zero time doing this if they're even a little coordinated. ZERO EFFORT. If it really was a real time waste for Survivors and that was the point, then they should make blessing a Totem take 60 seconds. If they can get so much benefit from it then it would be only fair for the Boon totem user to have to dedicate over half a gen to it.
It takes like a minimum of 30 seconds to a minute to find and bless a totem and that is a survivor not pressing gens so obviously, the effect has to be strong. The strength of CoH is too high I won't deny but the rest are fine and this kinda change would just neuter the whole bunch. I'd rather they just nerf CoH to not give you the ability to self-heal.
-
@Sheridan_LT said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3042254#Comment_3042254
Yeah. Just like Survivors are able to instantly bless another one or the same one. Yes, an overpowered perk needs only slightly overpowered counterplay that also, while being overpowered, can be instantly countered seconds after you snuff it out. This perk needs to be made this way or the healing rates are just not fair and unjustified.
It takes like 16 seconds to bless a totem that's not instantly and its not like they know where all the totems are either so they have to spend time looking for a totem to bless as well just like the killer has to find the blessed totem but at least the killer has a sound queue
-
If they use it offensively then yeah doesn't happen nearly as much to me anymore since it's nerf.

I thought about that but we're trying to change the meta not remove it and this is a change just not a good one I fear but salvageable
Off the record, BT, DH, and all those things will still be good even without being able to stack with each other. Especially off the record their stacking is just way overkill.

It can be a huge advantage to people on PC and it can also help people with certain health issues iirc.
That should be available in the base-game.
I mean sure I guess but I'll be honest I'd rather they focus on the game as even just that takes forever, very few if any games have hue and vibrance sliders
-
I think its a cool idea but having an extra hook state is exceedingly strong even with the mentioned debuffs. Another hook state would mean a massive time sink for the killer especially if the whole team brought the perk as that would mean you would need to(in the worst-case scenario you have to get 16 hooks to end a game with a 4k and depending on how strong the map is and how well the survivors have played they could still have a lot of resources to work with for that last life even playing carefully.
Another note as I'd assume to accomplish this you would have to increase the base hook timer to give way for this 4th hook state, you would essentially just be giving people free kinship albeit a lesser version but without the requirements
-
I'd prefer if they just made it so endurance didn't stack. it honestly doesn't feel intended and I don't know if bhvr has commented on it yet but hope it gets patched out before hitting live
-
@Sheridan_LT said:
This would make it a lot easier to find survivors sneaking around in the Boon healing area, would make it easier to find which totem to snuff out and would prevent games turning into HIT SURVIVOR, Survivor HEALS, HIT again etc.
I'll be real with you chief this would legit make the perk hot doo doo. Having a border would allow the killer to basically instantly find where the totem is
-
@WesCravenFan said:
I just checked the PTB, and thanks to the grind changes my level 1, freshly bought Haddie now has 7 pages of perks.
Explain to me how this isn't huge for me.
Because you've already put the time in to grind up to that point. I will say this system will expand better to more and more killers and survivors but I mean half the killers I dont play and I only play maybe 2 or 3 survivors so most of the benefits go to characters I don't use anyways.
-
@Pulsar said:
I have no idea.
I see a lot of people using filters because the game offers basically zero options.
Sure would like to have those on console...
That's a console problem, not a DBD problem. DBD PC doesn't really have filter options either we use 3rd party software to do it like Nvidia

I'll admit I hate this change but I kinda feel that they ruined Ruin even worse.
What's truly annoying is that WGLF lost it's BP bonus but got a buff while BBQ lost it's BP bonus and got nothing. Hmm, which side do the devs favour?
In fairness, the effects of BBQ are far better than WGLF. I agree that they should've given it something but I that's not my real complaint
-
The problem with nurse is she is balanced for like hardcore swf's. The problem is that you run into a hardcore swf like once every 200 or more games and she is wildly imbalanced for almost every other scenario. With that in mind, I have no idea how you nerf nurse without reworking her power or nerfing it to the point of feeling terrible to play and being worthless
-
Easily the change I hate the most in the mid-chapter. If they didn't want people to choose BBQ for the BP then make the mechanic base kit. I get the new changes will make the game less grindy but without BBQ for people who ran it every game the game is actually more grindy, as long as you aren't getting the BP bonus from the role incentive.
-
I think just deactivating it while exhausted would've been more then enough of a nerf honestly
-
I disagree, it's the devs and the players(both killers and survivors) that make the game stale, don't try and play some blame game its partially every group's fault that the game has become so stale.
-
Im fine with the meta changing but if they plan to nerf BBQ I really hope they just make the BP stacking effect base kit, same with WGLF. Always hated that those effects were tied to perks

But meta always will be there, if you change anything the next strongest takes its place. Meta exists no matter what
Yes a meta will always be there but the problem is the meta is too good in this game. That's why most of the same perks have been meta for years at this point and why there is so little variation. With each side having maybe 1 or 2 perks that can be swapped out for depending on the killer you are playing or the map you send yourself too. Everything else just makes you feel like your intentionally crippling yourself just to play something different. Plus having the same meta for so long is another problem and makes it feel all the more stale. It's okay and good for a games lifespan to absolutely murder some perks and buff other perks to the moon to intentionally change the meta every once in awhile but bhvr is too scared to do it for some reason.
-
It's just a waste of both their and my time but the rare times when they ######### the timing up and die for it makes it worth it.
-
I dont really think it'll change anything. The problem is people in the high end that all use meta perks and try their best to win. That's why there's no variety in matches, it's not just getting different people but wanting to see different perks and the meta is so much stronger then everything else that you feel the need to use them to have any chance at an enjoyable experience

This post was already running long as is, so we couldn't add full details on everything (a lot of the stats aren't super noteworthy). But that said, I don't believe we talked about kill rates at all in test 2, unless I'm mistaken. Do you mean test 1? If so, the top end climb to about 70% to give you an idea. We saw a difference of as much as 10% depending on the skill range.
You could've, I promise we don't mind it being longer if we get to see actual statistics

cause the game is uninstalled, other then that though I just got bored and frustrated with killer and I never enjoyed survivor much to begin with and only played it if friends wanted to play with me. Most of my friends stopped playing the game a long time ago though because of how stupid the grind is.

That's not the only reason.
There's literally not enough players to support our current system. Even if it were tightened up, we'd be looking at 30 minute queues for Survivors at peak hours. Nobody wants that.
There are plenty of players, the problem is there isn't a good enough distribution of players. The game needs a constant ratio of 4 survivors to 1 killer player and there are more often than not too many survivors and not enough killers but it changes based on the region and time
-

Its terrible because it only counts kills and escapes.
It's one of the reasons yeah. I'd say that it's more of a problem for survivors but it's not great for either side but tbh it's also bad because it just straight up doesn't work anyway due to the very low MMR soft cap.
