How come our favorite babylonian babe hasn't received any new original content since February? I've seen some of the announcements and there aren't any plans for her for the rest of this year.
All she has received so far were recolored cosmetics that were locked behind the premium Rift pass. Why hasn't she received her own tome at least? It's quite sad how little love this killer is getting. She's the least played killer in the entire game while also being one of weakest in terms of overall performance across all levels of play if you look up the stat-sheets.
If you ask me she'd deserve a semi-rework that gives her an original chasetheme while also fixing her terrible emblem/pipping issues. Any game below a 3K is basically a depip on her, and doublepipping is basically impossible on her. Adiris deserves far better. It's already bad enough that survivors can deny her power entirely while not receiving any real punishment for doing so.
If the detection on Corrupt Purge weren't so inconsistent I would have probably one a lot more matches on her. The amount of times I've seen it phase through someone, or even myself when VSing her is absurd.
-
I think over time I've just gotten bored of playing against a lot of the killers. I used to love Micheal but as the years go by and people get better a Micheal or Pig is pretty much a free win. Same with Billy if they aren't a curve god. Ghostface would be fun if the 99% stalks weren't a thing and his detection weren't so spotty.
I think Clown can be kind of fun to verse. Making him think you're running one way and as he throws the bottle switch to another path and try to lame him out so he has to reload. I think every recent killer except Blight has been extremely unfun to verse. Fun to play but not play against. And now the Twins seem like they'll have the opposite problem.
-
Have the correct perks. Hope she doesn't. Or just hope the Spirit isn't 'good' enough to have their audio so cranked they can hear footsteps.
I had to stop playing her. She was disgustingly easy to 4K even against good teams with. No challenge.
inb4 "just stop running mid chase lol" you don't play Spirit if thats your advice. I WILL HEAR YOU. And theres nothing you can do about it.
-
Bad idea imo. Too many killers and their perks in DBD are currently way too dependant on survivors not being able share info.
This would make killers that are currently only viable against solos even weaker.
-
Micheal and Clown.
Clown I just enjoy the concept of knowing the survivors options and herding them with my bottles.
Micheal I enjoy the stealth aspect but if you get noticed early and don't get a quick level 2 it can be a real rough game.

This is non-negotiable, unless you're talking about Ash, which could be debatable.
Ace is the best survivor in this game, here's why:
1. He is very lucky
I think this goes without saying but it cannot be stressed enough how lucky Ace is. Playing him will literally win you the lottery, he is insanely lucky and it will make you lucky as well.
2. He has ok perks
His perks may not be the best but they are serviceable, and helped me a lot more when I was trying to get adept than most other survivors.
3. He has the best cosmetics
Debatable but his cosmetics are still pretty great.
4. He is very quiet
He is very quiet which means you can be pretty sneaky with him. I think some of his cosmetics can make him harder to find than a Blendette.
5. He gets the ladies
He really does, trust me
Please main Ace
Aces volume was raised a while back iirc. I hear no difference to him when playing killer compared to any other survivor.
-
@Meteorizer said:
I would just suggest that he needs to aim his gun for about 3 seconds before he can shoot. Survivors then at least have a bigger window to react, or give him a huntress mechanic where he has 3 bullets and he has to reload from lockers.
I think 3 seconds is a lot longer in DBD than you think it is. 1.5 seconds would be more than enough as it would prevent ADS spam for free zoning.
-
Are you lunging? Because the hitbox for the grab is a 360 circle around Micheal. If you aren't getting the grab you must be doing a lunging
-
Yeah distortion is one of those perks that I feel if it were infinite would be too strong but limited as it is its too weak.
-
Slinger sucks to go against. But when you have a competent team how often does he get a 3-4K? Very little.
That's the issue. He's overwhelming like Spirit in a chase but he has no pressure. I'd take his ranged attack being nerfed slightly for someform of map pressure/slowdown.
Right now the only way to play against DS is to genrush. In the 1v1 you will lose 100% of the time if the Slinger has a half decent aim
ALso you're correct about the ads for free zoning. It's the same problem I have with Freddy where hes rewarded faster recharge on an already map wide teleport power.... for nothing...

Yes you can, just do not lunge. Walk behind them and tap M1.
....walk behind them and M1 when the reason you're lunging is to hit them before they're in Dead Hard range of the pallet/vault... righto.

DH is not that big of deal. It's called waiting it out a few seconds. No big deal. Once you seen it on a certain survivor. Then you know to always bait it out. Honestly dh needs a good rework. Getting hit while dh is animating is be. Happens alot because of dedicated servers. Yes you can complain m1 to win for distance. But isn't that the same for all killers? Someone injured just m1. Got need just m1, got devour hope just m1, got haunted grounds just m1... see it's easy to make that remark.
I do hope that the new version doesn't actively punish me with exhausted on the ground if I actually try to dodge when the killer starts a lunge like the current version.
-
@dspaceman20 said:
Personally I'm fine with it but I wonder how would you rework it?
Personally I think just cutting the distance to about 2/3s of what it is now and slightly extending the window of invulnerability would make it fairer. If you look at Davids perks it hilariously obvious that this perk was intended to bait killers out of already in place chases and absord hits for protection points with no mither. I highly doubt the devs ever intended it be used the way it mostly is now.
90% of the time it isnt used to actually absord the hit even in chases, its used to save a survivor that played badly.
-
@lagosta said:
Not really too much value. DH is popular bc it's the easiest on-demand gap oppener of the exhaustion perks. SB takes a lot of preparation to use on demand, Lithe activation is just bad, and BL might be useless depending on the map.
1- If they used DH they cannot use lithe, SB or BL during the chase.
2- Exhaustion addons counter DH more than any other of the aforementioned perks as you cannot use it while healthy.
3- DH is extremely inconsistent, more often than not trying to dodge an attack will result in you exhausted on the ground.
4- Once DH is used, the killer can easily counterplay in future chases. Other exhaustion perks are still good though.
Point 2 countered by the fact that very few killers have exhaustion add ons, and those that do are slowly having them removed or reworked into something different due to them being a relic of the old exhaustion system. And point 3 is obviously a programming problem that we know is getting fixed, hopefully soon.
Point 4 isn't much of an arguament because the survivor has to misplay and be caught out in the open in the chase (aswell as be injured), and on most maps against most killers, simply holding W once the chase starts is more than enough time to make it to a playable tile. As long as there is an undropped pallet (dropped depending on distrance to the killer + connection) or a decently safe vault nearby only 3 or 4 killers can actively counter the perk, other killers have no choice but to chase it and allow it to play out.
-
It is far and away the strongest exhaustion perk imo. The others just slightly extend a chase but Dead Hard is practically an entire reusable health state. Looking at it completely imparitial from playing a lot of both sides, with and without DH. Its simply too strong in the right hands.
It's like DS/UB. On 1 or 2 players its managable. And its likely to be misused. But on 4 players who know how and when to use it its incredibly strong.
I also think much like DS/Noed/Ruin+Undying bad players tend to rely on it over their own skills.
The main problem is that right now using it for its intended purpose (absorbing a hit) is secondary to using it for a free 'I win' button when the killer outplays you at a pallet loop. Hopefully after they've reworked it so it doesn't leave you exhausted on the ground 90% of the time it'll be looked at.
I don't think reusable health states are good from a design standpoint. Imagine if the killer had a perk to just quickly delete 3 pallets of their choosing at the start of the match. That would be the killer equivalent.

The 19 perks that I'm talking about are: Overcharge, Hex: Ruin, Corrupt Intervention, Thrilling Tremors, Oppression, Dragon's Grip, Discordance, Surveillance, Pop Goes the Weasel, Gearhead, Trail of Torment, Surge, Hex: Huntress Lullaby, Tinkerer, Dead Man's Switch, Fire Up, Thanatophobia, Dying Light and Mindbreaker.
It's honestly sad and depressing to know that killers have 18 perks that have to do with gens. How come we have so many gen perks? Have we ever asked for that amount of gen perks? Is this a sign that survivors need a new objective?
If I'm gonna be honest with you guys, I think that the devs have lost their creativity a little bit with perk creation. The game will definitely get more boring over the years if survivors don't get a new objective soon.
The saddest part of all of this is that half of those perks aren't even used very often and isn't very good and viable in high ranks if you are trying to play serious and sweat.
What are your thoughts and ideas on how to fix this? Do you also believe that survivors need another new objective soon?
Perks have just been recycled concepts since the Plague came out.

Is may be the worst idea Devs have and put in the game. I know they want to get as many money as they can but if the keep in the same path they will kill the game. The solution ? Ether don't play the game os stop buying anything and mean anything from they. It's the only way to stop it.
It specifically states this is to make the Halloween and Anniversary events better. I'm all for it. Honestly I hate these evens most of the time as people stop actually playing and just farm for whatever item/challenge they're trying to complete.

Heh; this thread is funny. So many threads and so much salt. I get accused of tunneling and camping even when I give every Survivor three hooks and never take the same person in a row. Let's just say I have little faith in the "perception" Survivors have (I also play Survivor). It always feels like you are being camped or tunneled unfairly. It doesn't mean you are in fact.
For my own part, I just take the next person who pops in front of me. It isn't by design or intent. It isn't personal.
Same. I'll never hook a survivor twice unless they go out of their way to sandbag their teammates or troll. I still get accused of tunneling even in 12 hook games with no double hooks.
Sometimes I'll punish an unsafe unhook just to make the unhooker lose benevolence points. That drives players mad. But its their fault for running in before I can even get away from the hook without BT and playing badly.
-
Too many of these threads recently. Where are the horny police?

It's weird that we have 2 related survivors right out of the gate together. I wonder if the writers are gearing up for more stuff like this.

Oh Kates and Nancys have overtaken Meg for "braindead" tier.

Stop taking it so personal. It's just a game. If you have a tilting match just remember that and chill a little.

You lost the game on the first 15 seconds when you went to see your totem instead of checking the common survivor spawns in this map (the Grim Pantry building and the pier). After that they put the nail in the coffin by doing almost all gens solo (notice that your Discordance only lights up once), which is the most efficient way to do gens. You also lost too much time on your chases, that Jane on the shack could have been downed twice.
Back berfore I became a small game gamer, in the days of old Ruin. 90% of the time I'd find a totem by just following the TR in the first 30 seconds. It's a really bad idea to beeline to your totem.
These survivors played the way you're supposed to against Legion. They split up. That and the fact that they seemed decent at chases and your perks weren't great (and the fact that Legion has a very hard time actually downing survivors) sealed your fate.

I feel like every game I go into, console players or players with the circle symbol next to their name always have pings in the 100s. And there's always a delay when you try to interact with them. This would also put them at a severe disadvantage when the new hitbox system comes out (if it ever comes out) since it judges hits based on ping. Is there a reason for this?
Very few console players use wired connections outside of fighting game players. Simple as that really.

I just dislike the graphic updates because at least on PS4, the new grass is awful. If you aren’t using dark traps then those creative traps I liked on Trapper aren’t viable anymore because they’re so easy to see. This means I’m forced to just put down super basic pallet traps and window traps. BOOORING.
I said this when they came out. It's too easy to spot base Trappers traps. On yamaoka they stick out like sore thumb.

Yeah! Kindred would be great to test how it would be like as base kit, using that perk doe makes me sad, I mean it's a wonderful perk as a solo queue player. But having to waste a perk slot for a perk like that is painful.
And to answer your question, I gotta say MANY times. That is one of the reasons why I sometimes run Kindred.
My solo matches are definitely better when I have it on but I get what you mean. SWF players already have the effects of several perk slots for free and having to use 1 of yours solo to get less than half of that effect feels kind of lame.

As of right now it feels like the best way to play Victor is to get a bunch of injuries as Charlotte and try to slug as Victor. SO I'd probably go Corrupt, STBFL, Sloppy and Knock out. Though, Charlotte is man with machete mode in a chase, unfortunately. Against good players you'd need chaser perks I feel.

Not going to lie but when it was first announced that all Dead by Daylight maps were getting a Graphic update, I was excited. The Badham Preschool ones are an example of a Good graphics update, all Badham maps kept the same layout as they did before and they actually feel like the Badham maps, only better.
As for the Yamaoka and the MacMillan maps, I can’t say the same thing about those. Both Yamaoka maps seems off, and they do not feel like they were before. The maps now are so light and full of rocks, almost feels like Dead by Daylight 2. The MacMillan maps need that blue tint back. They don’t feel special as they were before. I could back then get any MacMillan map as killer and be like,” He’ll Yeah.” Now, I really do hate all the MacMillan maps. They are so dark and feel bland. Maybe it’s just me but does anyone else feel the same?
I won’t finish in a negative note as I am kind of excited for both the Autoheaven maps and the Ormond graphic updates. Especially the Ormond one, as it looks more like the teaser they gave us back in 2018. (I heard it’s not survivor sided anymore)
I've been playing Claudette recently and she is literally invisible when walking around in some areas of macmillan. It's like when you'd get the old immersed SWF all stacking new moon offerings. She literally disappears when on a gen or near a wall.
Yamaoka is just too dark altogether for me.

I understand that players are new and mmr is broken, but you'll never learn how to loop by just crouching by a pallet and waiting for the killer to walk into your trap.
I don't even understand how dbd expects newbies to learn this other than searching for survivor tips online or seeing somebody loop the killer in game.
There really needs to be a better tutorial.
I had a Nancy (why is it always a Nancy) drop the god pallet 20 seconds into a match yesterday. The Meg across from us just stopped and we shared a frozen cold glance, she shook her head, I shook mine back, she DCed.

Im not a fan of the way they gave it out or the fact that it's killer only charm, and especially if you were on a console you were pretty much screwed off rip.
I am on xbox and i did manage to get one by waiting a few days and then watching one of ohTofu's late night streams where he put ten codes on screen and then blocked out last 2 letters to give people a chance to type them in.
Anywho this post is for people who did not get the charm.
If you could post what platform your on and about how many times you tried to enter it in along with how you got your codes twitch, YouTube, ect
Also did you try to the end to no avail or did you just give up for whatever reason.
I had my game open and waited for one. Only to find out each code had 10 uses and I was in a stream with 700 people.
Don't get me wrong its cool they wanted to give their fog whisperers a little boost but going back on their word on exclusives was the wrong way too go. Shard/Auric cell codes would have been better.
Also the fact that the streamers like Cahlaflour and Paulie and a few other had to go out of their way to make it fair for people entering on a controller was just silly.

I bought the game in the first place specifically for Pyramid Head. After a few hundred hours playing it, Pyramid Head feels terrible to play. His shockwave is the only decent part of his kit, and it is trivial to juke for any player that is looking at the red stain. His torment trails are embarrassingly useless and all but TWO of his addons affect them, basically meaning he's a killer with no addons. Moreover, almost all his stuff seems to be focused on being Undetectable for some reason, as if the lack of a terror radius makes up for the fact that he's gigantic, makes a ton of noise by just walking, and using his power in any way is as loud as a generator exploding.
What feels even worse is that the inevitable response is "actually, pyramid head is really good because he can blah blah loops." No. That doens't make him good. Having a thing that makes loops slightly less safe if the killer flawlessly performs a trick AND the survivor isn't paying any attention at all is a terrible power, much less that the recovery is so long that the survivor may as well be getting a free Sprint Burst every time you miss with it. Or "actually, his torment is super strong because it negates all the survivor hook perks." No again. It takes so much time to set torment trails, they can't be set in the spots every other trap can, AND there's a very severe hard cap on how many trails you can have and how long before they fade away. The only time people get tormented is if they run over your trail in a loop, which is, at best, one person at a time. The killer instinct alert is so short as to be pointless, the trail neither damages nor slows, torment does not affect player actions in any way, rescuing from a cage removes up to two instances of torment making you have to start the whole process over again, and even if you DO get a cage off, you're shutting down all the killer-hook perks as well as just shipping them off to be grabbed by the survivors working on gens far away from you.
The core idea of the killer powers is so neat, yet what I can only assume is the result of endless survivor complaints has delivered a wildly under-utilized kit that boils down to "short range huntress." The fact that the last attention he got was in the form of a shockwave nerf with zero buffs to his torment trails or his totally worthless addons kinda tells me that the developers are fine with where he's at, which is a tremendous disappointment for me.
There are lots of fun killers to play and I really wish that the guy who got me into the game in the first place was one of them.
Honestly, I think Pyramid heads power is just kinda dull. The cage aspect is cool but the projectile I just find kind of generic and boring to use.

I think experiments in this game can become a very important thing to do. Before the Bloodlust experiment, we always said what we thought would happen if they implemented or changed something, but with experiments, we can actually see what WOULD happen instead of just predicting and saying "This will happen if we do this, end of discussion".
Buffing Solo Queue and nerfing SWF has been a popular thing to discuss on the forums for a very long time now, I think for example, what would determine if having a totem counter would be too strong would be if we actually got a PTB to test it and give feedback to the devs if it really was too OP.
What are your thoughts about having an experiment about this?
I would like them to disable Kindred and make it base kit for a weekend. The major imbalance between solo and SWF isn't looping/chase ability. There are some amazing solo players. It's the fact that time optimisation is incredibly easy when you have moment to moment map updates.
How many games as solo have you been on the hook and seen 1 dude being chased while the other 2 run at you from the end of the map wasting valuable time and gen pressure?

How many of those are killer in red ranks. Can't be more than zero. If you did you'd realise how not particularly strong of a perk (actually pretty bad when you do the math. The devs have very poor communication with their playerbase to actually let us know if anything is being worked on, and are arrogant. I mean Mathieu is a meme at this point.
Errors aside, I wish they would just hire Otzdarva as the balance man. His community patch ideas are actually pretty good and solve most of what makes the gameplay of this game so unfair sometimes, without any bias towards any side.

You got friends to play with?

No better game of this type unfortunately. At least not one that hasn't died within the year. DBD devs get away with slow, awful balancing and buggy content because there's no one giving them competition or getting them to buck their ideas up.

Also, nothing to stop you from quickly tapping that gen before running off to unhook or sacrificing a hit to do it and get as far away as possible

Pretty much all killers benefit form BBQ as it gives them info on where to go next. One guy cleansing a toten and 2 healing at a gen? You best believe the gens the right choice
That said I think semi-random short term auras like Undying, Territorial imperative, those types of perks are exclusively useable on a high mobility character.
On the opposite side, auras are pretty useful against most killers. However, stealth killers are destroyed by them. This is countered somewhat by characters like Pig, Wraith and to a lesser extent Ghostface, then lastly, Micheal having some form of control over their undetectable status.

You forgot Cruel Limits and Coup De Tat

Its best used when the start of the attack is out of view of the survivor or the survivor is locked into an animation and unable to juke it. Using it out in the open is usually a bad idea.

Not all Killer problems revolve around SWF. That is a blatant lie. Maybe a portion of them do, but not all of them. I've gone against Solo teams and still had a gen pop before I even walked across the map. It is not a good feeling when a Killer has to say "Oh, I guessed the wrong side of the map. Guess I lose a couple gens now." And as I said, tunneling and camping is a problem, but most of the time it's a bad killer. The simple answer is Genrush. A camping killer wants altruism.
In the Year 4 Livestream I believe the Dev's mentioned an eventual new system for the Early Game, similar to the EGC. We don't know what it'll do, or if it's even coming anymore.
I really hope they haven't gone "eh, lets just let them use undying/ruin". That would anger me greatly. I'm so sick of having to dedicate half my build to slowdown.
-
I'm OK with the hatch. Its still a win to me as killer.
My major problem is how a lot of the more fun, but weaker killers are suicidal to use in red ranks. I really hope this MMR thing gets fixed up and comes in soon. I'd love to play killers I don't tend to play more like Trapper or Plague or Mikey, but in red ranks the majority of the survivors I play against are fantastic at looping and most of these killers become impotent in a chase. Matches just fly by even when I use Corrupt and get a first hook before first gen. I just want to use the perks I want to use, just like survivors can, and have a decently long, fun match. Doesn't have to be a win by any means, just has to be enjoyable and let me play well with my power.
The problem is too many killers just can't end chases fast enough, and survivors don't have a reason to get off a gen if they A. aren't being chased or B. aren't needed to unhook or heal their friends.
I'd rather these killers be buffed to be more viable but judging by the reaction Leatherface is getting (and I'm sure Clowns will be received similarly) I don't expect that to happen.

It's too easy they never learn the basic's to face against moderately good Survivor. It's too easy they never learn the most of the basics of the game. It's too easy they don't learn the loops. It's too easy they don't learn map layouts. It's too easy they don't remember Survivor perks. It's too easy they don't remember window spawns. It's too easy they don't know to mindgame.
It's too easy they have a poor opinion on changes needed in the game.
While experienced Killers that took the time to learn the game, ignore things like the forums because they know that if they don't speak up nothing will change to actually balance the game (balancing the game would make it harder for them) - since all the players that don't understand the actual game will keep providing poor information on the forums not understanding that they still need to learn the basics of the game. These Killers Camp and Tunnel in higher ranks, and ruin the game for everyone. Making all the players leave, and the matchmaking is so bad even new Survivors face them - making them leave too. This leaves BHVR with a problem not keeping players that want to play this game.
I know the basics. I know a lot on how to play tiles and killers. The problem you're forgetting is that unless I'm playing a top tier killer thats all I have. A lot of killers simply can't down fast enough to pressure (Legion, Micheal having to build up to a timed, mediocre power, GF if he's on an open map and unable to stalk, Wraith in general), or can but don't have the mobility to capitalise on it (Deathslinger, Huntress on any map larger than Wreckers Yard, Clown, Doctor if there are enough unsafe loops to use your power on) against a good team. The fact of the matter is that if you're playing a low to mid tier killer, you simply don't have the tools to play well above a basic understanding of how to play loops.
A good team with an equal understanding of how to play those loops, as well as meta perks, will decimate an equal skilled killer using a lower tier pick. At that point the killer is exclusively capitalising off of misplays by the survivor and not their own skills.

I don't see them?
I'm looking here: Marshal's Badge - Official Dead by Daylight Wiki (gamepedia.com)
I think it used to have numbers but doesn't anymore. Like... Legion's addons still have their numbers but Slingers seem to be missing.
If you hover over the tooltips sometimes they have the exact values.

They need to rework the blight completely, much more so then the clown. Nobody plays him, his power makes no sense, it was dead on arrival. Like the lore build up was immense and then....human pinball. I just feel like they could have done so much more with alchemist that was involved in a mystical, mystery school. The clown probably could use a small touch up or two on his power, maybe a tweek here or there. Its the blight that desperately needs a complete and total reinventing in comparison.
I'm beginning to feel like this forum is some entrance to a bizarro universe where all the player opinion are reveresed. If you aren't playing against Blight you must not be in purple or even red ranks. He's a very good killer and when they fix his POV he'll be in a perfect spot.
