Its pretty much only good right now if you have a survivor in a corner tile.

Do not loop near a hooked survivor.
DO. NOT. LOOP. NEAR. THE. HOOK.
Also, before going for a hook rescue, count to 10, unless the killer somehow teleports away or is otherwise clearly occupied. A bad rescue is worse than no rescue. A good rule is if you start your rescue when inside the terror radius your actively helping the killer kill someone faster, unless you have borrowed time.
The amount of players that loop the shack near a hooked person and call me a camper post game is crazy. At least wait for me to leave the hook before creating a mountain of scratch marks.

Um, what? Yeah, i know about this being the costume and not the Scream films, but literally nothing is stopping them from making lines of their own. I know this will likely never happen, but it's not because of anything copyright related as long as they don't take anything from the films.
I think it'd be weird for him to sound like anything but the movie version.

Imma stop you there. I was a Freddy main before he got reworked. Winning with that version took skill and all the other things you just listed. Current Freddy gets a lot of stuff for free. He's the lowest skill killer in this game. He has the highest kill rate for a reason.
OG freddy bros. He sucked design wise and was real hard to play with against a good team but it took actual player knowledge and chase skills to do well with him and micromanage.
-
the fact that his snares slow more than Clowns bottles is insane to me.
-
All pretty good tips as a solo survivor myself.
-
That'd be cool but I think it'd have problems with copyright. Ghostface in DBD is the actual costume that existed before Scream. The voice is part of the Scream movies.
-
Still the obsession even with the add on that reduces it. Damn. AFAIK if theres 3 obsession and 1 non-obsession it'll pick the non.

Patch after patch we are seeing the same thing: New killer and Survivor with perks that fail to address core issues of the game and don't shake up the meta. They have extremely niche/situational perks.
And, a new archives rift to keep you busy and addicted for a while.
Oh, and have some cosmetics too. Not that you'd ever want to use anything other than Blendette if we're being honest.
THAT'S IT. It's getting stale!
Why can't we see new game modes? New items? New survivor actions? More gestures added? If they put a little effort, they could really breath new life into the same old game.
If you're expecting them to ever add any new interactable gameplay elements outside of killer specific mechanics I highly doubt it will ever happen at this point. Enjoy your gens and totems.

When survivors mend in your face and desperately beg to get stabbed twice while you're Frenzying to protect a teammate, I'm wondering how you manage to feel "in control" lol... Legion isn't in control at all. They're absolutely a victim to their own unintuitive overly gamey power.
This I go out of my way to let them see my mending by a gen just to make them aware of how bad Legion is.

Don't play against her very often if at all. But Hag's camera fuckery when you trigger her traps is incredibly annoying.

If you didn't notice, I had that as a secondary thought, simply to speak on the raw power of this killer. It's why I didn't call my post that. I like playing killer too, more than SWF even. Maybe I should tell my life story on all my posts so that people will stop assuming what kind of person I am.
Dude I still get called a survivor main because I actually try to look at things from both sides and be as impartial as I can. Ignore those people, they operate under "true killers are persecuted victims" mentality.

How about just keep Bloodlust 1 for the killers that are too dependant on it and remove 2 and 3 to prevent bad killers being carried by it.

You bring DS for "tunnelers", despite the fact that the vast majority of killers don't tunnel, and yet you won't bring another perk to counter something you also encounter rarely.
People need to stop pretending DS is about tunneling. It's the survivor's NOED: you're having a bad match, here's a perk to make you feel better.
Those killers don't tunnel because theres an obssession. Im my nearly 4 years in this game I can count the other killers I've versed as survivor that don't just relentlessly tunnel when no obssession on one hand.
-
The license is for the reboot so this probably won't happen (not that we'll ever get any cosmetics or Quentins face fix from them).

I'm asking how you would buff solo queue survivors if you would give them more information. What type of information should they get?
Should they get a totem counter that counts how many totems there are in the game? Should you give survivors the ability to know if a non-obsession survivor are getting chased?
Totem counter and base kit kindred. Solos being told to just run kindred for a 1/5th of the info SWF players have at all times is already limiting, because SWF players can use meta perks with impunity thanks to the sheer amount of info they have. I do run it myself just because solos really need to optimise their time against a good killer due to a lack of coordination.
Example, I'm being chased and spot a hex totem in a very awkward hard to see spot, I'm powerless as solo. As SWF I can say "totem here" and my teammates can have it cleansed before I'm even hooked. I'm not saying that should be athing for solos as it'd make Hexes even weaker (non-ruin/undying hexes anyway) but its a good example of the difference.

This. 1 gen with another can give close to full and you can focus on other categorys for the rest of the match.

Mother's Dwelling is my least favorite. If anyone has played FE4 and seen that map size, that's what it feels like. Unless you have high mobility you're in for a bad time. I like the look though.
Any indoor map and Crotus Prenn. The fact that building still has both of those open windows is insane to me.

When did PT become meta, because I’ve seen it 10 times in a row and it’s super annoying when you are learning and leveling up a new killer. Does anyone have any suggestions for me?
Nice BP boost for players that aren't confident chasers or dislike altruism. Also with Ruin/Undying leaving a gen can be dangerous so its best to try and complete it asap.
I noticed the bar is still red with PT. I swear they said that was getting fixed.

I know this isn't a serious topic but God his power is boring... Worst matches I've been playing were against Legion. Long and unfun trials.
Its weird how 2 of the most boring killers to face are on opposite ends of the spectrum but both are able to drag games out. Freddy games can last forever and he's a real threat, Legions can too but they're a complete pushover.
-
Best way to counter him is similar to Doc and Clown. Try to reach the pallet from far enough away to drop early. He'll either waste time trying to hit you or break it giving you time to run.
Avoid vaults that aren't behind LOS breakers as they're a free hit. I dislike his design but as others have said he's nowhere near as bad as SPirit/Slinger or Freddy.

Also, Adrenaline should get reworked, some people use Adrenaline but won't touch gens so basically they get rewarded for something they didn't. Which is to help the match progression.
Maybe make it require 80 seconds of repairing a gen like repressed alliance.
-
I don't really play Oni but yeah if they can run you for long enough before getting your power it can be game over. Not much I can really add as I don't know how to play the tiles with him.
I'd drop Thano Btw. Even at max stacks its literally worthless. Oni is snowball dependant so infectious fright is a go to.
5:00 was just really unfortunate timing. I wouldn't be surprised if that was a head on save set up by a SWF.

I had a game where there was a relatively early DC (because I was playing Deathslinger). I hooked everyone in order, let them heal, do a couple gens and played super fair. I even let someone escape out the hatch. And guess what I still got Merciless Killer even at Rank 1.
Moral of the story is that if you semi-farm after there's a DC. You can give a Survivor the hatch and it doesn't effect your rank at all.

I dont get it. All I remember is they changed his animation back in the "fixing infinites" patch, then they tweaked them when he got nerfed.
Something about his collision is off for sure. He gets caught on random crap mid lunge like no other.
His headbob is also awful and makes me feel sick.

They can nerf his ADS like they did to Pyramid head but compensate by buffing his chain and addons
That nerf didn't really change anything about PH, if anything it now lets him spam his projectile with near impunity. He still plays the same. People still have problems with his base design. It was just to cull the masses that don't read patch notes or didn't play him. Though I guess it did nerf the 50/50 lose lose thing so thats good.
Problem with Slinger is that if you nerf his ADS he'll probably stop feeling good to play. Than again, missing would still be entirely on the Slinger but he'd need to commit more and no more M2 for free zoning.

Well there needs to be some form of incentive to play the more stressful role right?
On another note perk tiers should be long gone by now given the sheer amount of perks there are now.
I think thats a weak stance. I play killer because I enjoy it, not for BP. Truth of the matter is survivors have always been boned hard on BP and it gets worse every chapter.

Because, as allways, people will give you the excuse of "oh, it's just not worth running Detective or Small Game".
Even a map can do the job, but no, they just want easy games with meta perks, how else are you gonna loop a killer if you dont have Dead Hard, DS, etc?
They wont switch playstyles and try stealth to find the totems, they want chases. Too bad killers have adapted and some infinites are not a thing anymore, I bet if things like old pallet Heaven was still a thing people wouldnt be complaining about Ruin+Undying.
To be fair Small game has been begging for a totem counter for years and this undying meta proves that. A solo player has no idea if they're wasting precious time continuing to look for totems/dulls to prevent a hex respawn because teammates cleansed them.
-
The aura reading is unnecessary imo. Already a really good perk and the aura reading invalidates TOTH an already weak perk.
Get rid of the aura reading and just scale the hex respawns per level. Better yet remove outdated perk levels.
-
His 1V1 and stealth potential is too strong for a buff to anything else right now. He'd need nerfs to his chase power in exchange for mobility or slowdown and there's no way in hell that'd go down well with the people that play him.

"Ree developers stop forcing me to use slowdown perks nerf gens"
"just use iron will lol" - Boosted Spirits

Mind game? Don't run where there's grass?(As a trapper main I can confirm there are a few maps that have virtually no grass outside the exit gates) Bring Iron Will so she can't hear you?
It's a trick question. You said "During chase" which is where you don't want to be against a good spirit. It's like asking how to counter a god nurse during chase. Your best solution is to not be found in the first place. Bring UE and Spine Chill. When it's going off sneak away. I've had people do it to my Nurse and it works. Even if I end up finding them due to Whispers it still took a chunk of my time.
I get what you're saying but with how much the developers routinely nerf stealth and add new perks that counter it (some of which are dependant on your teammates for crying out loud), its not a solid form of play and never will be. Their excuse of "Nurse is hard to play so it's fine that she disregards entire game mechanics" arguament is silly and I've never actually seen someone who put the time in to learn Nurse actually defend that statement.
'Just don't get found' might have been good advice 2 years ago but now it means literally nothing. You can literally be found by auras by running too close to a wall that might have by chance had a totem on the other side right now.
Also your Iron Will arguament means nothing. All Spirits outside of maybe 2-3% that play loud enough to actively damage thier eardrums use Stridor thanks to how widespread IW already was. And scratch marks load in so quick and breathing is so loud that "don't run near grass".... what does that even mean?
-
I'm using one thats a little of everything right now on Heather.
Small game to counter totems.
Repressed Alliance if I find out the killer is using pop. This perk has actually got me camped out of spite once or twice.
Leader for faster heals on me from other players to make up for not having a self healing perk
Kindred to know whens the right time to save or stay on a gen.
If you want the objective 'best'. It's Dead hard, Adrenaline, DS, Unbreakable
Replace adrenaline with BT for altruism

It's kinda like noed. People feel it's a crutch perk, it's completely counterable but some people just don't feel like cleansing da bonez. These killers have counter play but some people don't want to adapt.
Tell me the counter to Spirit in a chase and if you say "just stop running" or "do something random" there's no discussion to be had.
-
@EvilJoshy said:
I feel these killers are fine. The issue is the community. They want the same tactics to work on all killers. Ex, pallet looping. Which is why people don't like facing these killers. They force you to do something different.
If you hate these 4 you will love a good Nurse :P
Thats weird I don't hate playing Trapper even though he requires me to go out of my way to disable his traps and can counter looping. Weird. Almost like there's actions I as a player can take to play against him and him putting down his traps isn't just an instant win.
-
I think they're fine because they now have a global blind time. The instablinds were a REAL problem for a while.

@Yamaoka said:
Quote: "If the killer is decent it's a 4k all the time without even using mindgame."
This is exactly why many people enjoy playing Spirit, Pyramid Head, Deathslinger etc.
Because the match is (almost) all about YOU in terms of chases. YOUR experience decides how the chase goes and how long it takes to down said survivor. Pallets and windows only provide partial defense instead of being potential "5 gen looping objects".
Many killers are sick of having to rely on survivor mistakes/mindgames to get their hits/downs/hooks.
The problem there is that its outright stating that the survivors skills and attempts at mindgaming/juking should have no effect on the chase. Which is a good way to get people to drop survivor considering this game is all about the chase and generators are boring as hell to do, and stealth has been heavily nerfed in the last 2 years with the devs outright stating it isnt their intended playstyle.
Survivors aren't complaining that they "can't just loop" the problem is that a lot of these killers outright counterthe survivors main form of defense but didn't add any new form of counterplay.
These killers aren't considered "healthy" for the game by a lot of people because they remove survivor agency. Sure, I can win against a bad Spirit or Slinger, feel good? No, I only one because they're actively bad, not because I outplayed them with smart decisions or good gameplay. I'd rather just quit and get a match against a killer that's actually dynamic and fun, I don't care if I win or lose. I want my input to matter.
Spirit actively shits all over the "meaningful interaction" that the devs claimed was the entire crux of DBD (the back and forth of the chase). There's nothing wrong with strong killers. I LOVE playing against a good Oni or a curve Billy, it's actually tense and terrifying. Heck, even Blight is incredibly strong and scary but the type of people that pick up these killers for free wins don't want to put the time in.

And a few days after dealing with super sweats that have played since the beginning they will leave - especially if people have false ranks and make them seem new to the game - end game can be so annoying even for console players.
We still get end game messages when we don't give survivors what they want all the time.
You're acting like this only applys to killers. When I first started as a survivor way back when I was going against deranking meta build Hags and Hillbillys. Know what I did? Learned to play.

Good for you sport, but it's not all about the people that have been here since the beginning and know how much it's really changed.
They need to start thinking about the new players too - once again I'd like to consider modes; Casual and Competitive.
No not everyone will stay on their side because people are trolls but it'll still do so much.
Not everyone playing, survivors or killers; want to play competitively. I've played only 2400 hours or something before I said screw it and went to play Destiny 2 because I just can't have fun in this game hardly anymore; and I'm sure plenty of others agree.
The toxicity and "bullying" problem would just get worse tenfold with a casual mode. Also the devs probably don't want to split the playerbase. There's already problems with queue times at peak hours in certain areas.
-
It is weird how tilted some player get.
I had a game against a Pyramid Head that was obviously inexperienced and he picked the worst survivor to chase. This Nea ran him around for half the game before essentially being tunneled (though she did bait him into it), but he just refused to drop the chase. We died due to a snowball due to me having the last gen almost done and 2 players running together being chased towards me and us all being downed. In the post game he accused us of "bullying him from the start" when he was just playing really badly and making bad decisions, getting the win because one of our players also made a really bad decision.

Hag has out-of-chase counterplay, but it's difficult to pull off. If you know she's out of range of her traps, or see that she's carrying someone, you can break her web by running through and setting off the traps with no fear of her teleporting over. However, that kind of requires you to know where the traps are in the first place, so it's not really that viable in most cases. Still, it is something to remember
This. In the rare case I see her solo if someone is being chased far away I'll quickly run around the nearby loops if she's been there to mess with her mobility.
-
Ghostfaces 99% stalks are bullshit lets not beat around the bush. Especially with how broken reveal is.
PH is one I'm weird on. Its really only 50/50 while the pallet is up, if he begins flinging out projectiles thats when the 1v1 counter play comes into effect. But good PHs dont allow you to drop without a trade so eh.
I'm surprised you didn't mention Slinger where the only 1V1 counter is the Slingers own lack of skill.
Iron Will is irrelevant as 99% of Spirits use Stridor, because Iron Will pretty much counters her entire power. Bad design.

If you have the opportunity to tunnel someone out of the game. Do you or do you try to spread it out. I know getting tunneled is no fun on the survivors end but neither is killer on large maps when you move at 110% speed and the survivors are gen rushing you by splitting on gens. Assuming you say you don't, what other strategies would you recommend, be much appreciated!
If time is on my side then I try to make the game last a little longer. I don't double hook even with no obssession. It makes for boring gameplay and breeds bad killer habits.
-
Survivor queues are fine outside of peak times. Its peak times when everyone is home in the evening playing with their friends and clogging up the queue. The sheer amount of survivors is just too many compared to killers.
Midday I get proper red rank games as killer. Evening I get a match in 1 second with 2 greens and a purple.
