From what? They got a new toy but it can't just cripple the killer's knees?
Just like killers getting mad at facecamp bubba I think.
-
Yeah I'm always like "what the ######### you dumb leg it's your problem to make ######### match like this".
-
I'm pretty sure camping/tunneling is passive playstyle and not aggressive playstyle because you don't actively hunt down survivors as opposed to walking around and defending gen/breaking palette/hitting survivors.
I'm not sure how slugging gonna be though.
-
I don't think anything meaningful in this kind of mentality, I think anyone yelling "survivor main" "killer main" at someone else should be insta-banned.
-
I'm pretty sure balanced match gonna cost like 30min or so of survivor que time, survivor que is already abysmal thanks to events and I don't think it to be actually balanced anyway.

Yes. Otz doing well in solo queue with no perks + 30 seconds afk is proof the game is killer sided.
We will ignore the fact that he plays the game full-time for a living and has done for several years, just as we will ignore his history of setting and achieving against-the-odds challenges. He is clearly representative of the typical killer and as such, we should finally accept that DBD is indeed killer sided.
TDLR: Full-time career player with particularly good skills and a history of setting and achieving against the odds challenges vs randoms on solo queue = killers are OP and survivors are weak.
And we really should understand survivors in his vid is nowhere near as best.
-
If que time is faster, go for it.

Survivor using perks and/or map offerings = Abuse?
It's as abusing as pig camping the trap, but worse.
-
No, survivors are also getting mad at it.
-
I mean if it is kills or escapes other side gonna just stop trying.
-
Just add more unfair killer strat like survivors has, trap camp and bubba camp is good start... now add more and more of those.

Fair, but I am fairly confident that far more people are wholly against randomly dying with no input than in favor of it. You are welcome to your opinion, but do not expect it to be remotely popular.
It's popular because everyone loves hatch.

Yea but you also have to realize the huge gap between "high level" and "low level" players. I wouldn't be surprised if its 1% to 99%. Like I've said, most survivor players can't loop and many don't even know how to look behind them when running. For anyone to suggest this is a survivor sided game is just blatantly wrong.
Ehh, but this is definitely a survivor sided game because weakest killer don't even know how to swing weapon or how to hook anyone.

I think its balanced cuz its horrible for both sides
Probably true in baby survivors/killers, definitely not true in anyone better than decent.

I’m currently playing Bubba, and I do my absolute best not to tunnel & face camp. Not even with SWF’s. I don’t like when killers do that to me. I tolerate it because it’s not against the rules, but it’s not a good feeling. I don’t want to be the cause of that feeling for others. Beating survivors with the “survivor rules” is waaaaay more rewarding than camping & tunneling. It makes you a much better killer too. No one can say ######### to you, and if they do- it just shows they’re salty for you beating them at “their own game.” The smart ones won’t say anything because they already recognize this, and will have to give you props in silence. You’ll even get the occasional genuine “gg wp.” The Icing on the cake? Give the last one the hatch if you’re feeling generous that match. You just prestiged to S Tier ass kicker, baby.
On another note, I’m fine not “winning” every game with 2k’s. Like someone alluded to above, who wants to keep raising their MMR only to square off against even harder opponents in the likes of sweaty SWF’s and hackers??? I take solace in my losses knowing that I’m comfortable in mid MMR, where most of my matches are against survivors of my skill set or lower.
That way, you can only kill not so good survivors... and problem arise when you realize it.

Yes, it does fix the LONG games where they take the hostage. But it will indirectly cause a increase in bodyblocks because of the trial ending in lets say 25 minutes? How often do you really see someone taking a game hostage for hours? Minimal. There are players who are toxic enough who are willing to bodyblock someone for 25 minutes tho.
And they do bodyblock people even with current implementation, it doesn't change anything.
-
Plz no, don't make that beast weakling.

@jesterkind said:
...Presumably also quite strong, and on their radar? I don't think it's really a case of having to pick one killer to work on at a time, it's just that this current patch had a bunch of quick numbers-tweaking changes they could get out without having to devote too much programmer time to them. Nurse and Blight are extremely strong, but addressing that requires a lot more than changing some number values- and Nurse specifically had her entire code rewritten from the ground up this patch, almost.
I don't think the nerfs were good either, but I definitely believe that Twins are beasts in the hands of skilled players. People very routinely underestimate how strong the Twins actually are, even outside of proxy camping with Victor.
I mean, what's the problem when good twins are much rarer than even a good nurse...?
-
BHVR's reasoning for nerfs is pretty much mumbling at this point, x do good in low level nerf x do good in high level nerf x do not good but frustrating nerf x blinded me too much nerf...
It doesn't matter whether a killer does good or not, it doesn't matter where killer does good or bad, they'll do nerf and then make the reasoning.

There is surge of survivors because of events, and it skew mmr much.
-
They won't or can't.
-
Thank you for camping me, tunneling me and mori'ing me!
-
I like those kind of things, DbD is really good at making death funny.
-
Basically anyone except the one who is extremely fast at chase or instadown survivors.
-
BHVR's reasoning is almost always worthless mumbling, they tell us stupid things and doesn't have anything like balance standard.

This thread made me realize a couple things about the hook argument that I hadn't before.
- You're right that killers that arn't bad per se but just like to grief or just want easier games will actually be encouraged to tunnel and camp even more to de-rank like punishment isn't actually punishment to these people.
- People are figuring out ways to "fix" SBMM but if SBMM is working it's always gonna lead to sweaty games for both sides which is what everyone complains about so I don't think these fixes people are coming up with would do what they think they are. This isn't even a problem of SBMM just any attempt at balance is going to cause this.
I don't know that just kills are the solution but I don't think hooks solve the problem either. I honestly think the problem isn't even balance this point now but "feel". There are a lot of killers that can do okay but feel bad to play just as there are perks on both sides that are fine win percentage wise but feel terrible to play against, I think those things should be the priority instead of SBMM.
Tbh win percentage is pretty much meaningless, because worst survivors are beyond your imagination... they can't even do fast vault!

I like the idea, but i'm also seeing people's reaction to the idea of BT becoming base kit. When, objectively, it'd be a good change for the health of the game.
It's punishment without any complement, of course everyone would oppose it.

Killers aren't that weak with the right perks and add-ons "in my opinion".
Whether you think so or not, the fact is there is much less killers than survivors in many region, regardless of time.
-
We all know the map will be more in favor for survivors, it was too frustrating to play as survivor in that map!
-
The fact 99% of people don't even read OP is funni.

Just because you find it funny does not mean that is the general consensus. That'd be like saying it would be funny if there was a 1% chance that a Survivor dies every time a gen is finished.
Just because you felt it unfair doesn't mean that is the general consensus either, and yes I think it's funny to add 1% chance of dying.
You could add 1% chance of escape too, to balance it.

Who cares who brought what offering?

You feel the same way about any killer build, playstyle, game abuse, etc?
Same way? I don't know, at least I don't think anyone expect anything better by using exploit or hacks.

Most game developers aren't, seeing as they're busy making the game, not playing it.
I imagine the last thing a game developer wants to do when they get home is play the game that they already spend eight hours a day working on.
They're not streamers who make a living off having 12+ hours a day free at home to play games professionally.
Probably it's the reason why many game dev tend to be suck at balancing.

Respectfully disagree. There is nothing funny about being on the receiving end of such a tactic.
Dying for absolutely no reason is actually funny in party game like this, this is not a sweaty pvp game where you play for win!
Hatch is good thing in this game for same reason, getting a escape for absolutely no reason is funny!
-
Probably a true fix DS needs.
-
If they do, that'll be instanerf for it.
Did ya remember when they nerfed flashlight? yes, BHVRs been like that.

It should be kept as is because it's so ######### funny for either side.

DBD has a unique experience where it's not burdened by time, and it would kill the immersion from the game. Also it's already a game where almost every second counts. Most great matches take roughly 22 to 30 minutes and those are the really good matches.
This falls into the category of having in game comms which is a really bad idea, people get really upset when some writes the kysl messages, someone psychically might be worst or racial slurs get thrown around no thanks.
It's just a video game not the end of the world because you we're blocked awhile just DC or go do something constructive in the meantime.
It's not the end of world if there is time limit for sure, what's your point.

Actually, it does FIX bodyblock issues.
Because game can end, so there is no more taking the game hostage.

I think people need to talk complaining about every little thing and be less entitled. Just feel like we shouldn't be focusing on all the little negative things.
Maybe on both sides we shouldn't care about winning every game and just play for fun. As survivor mess around with meme builds and as killer just use perks you enjoy using and don't care about not getting 3/4k.
Also take breaks from the game. If your not having fun, take a break. I've been playing for over 4 years and I've taken probably taken 10 month long breaks.
Just play for fun is certainly harder when it takes 10 minutes to play the game I think.

I don't like the rework of this perk but when we play killer, we are noticed of that (icon is showed). If you know that it's not difficult to avoid falling and if you see that the nearest hook is too far, just let fall the survivor and slug him (still better than a new chase).
I mean, yeah the perk is bad but don't need to harass player that use it or DC, just use your brain :)
He said survivors though...

@KateMain86 said:
Sometimes I wonder if people who say its a survivor sided game have played survivor for more than a few hours consecutively. DBD is nowhere near a survivor sided game. I'd say half the people that play survivor don't even know how to look behind them when running from the killer. As I've said before and will always say until it happens, this game needs to fundamentally change before any real balance can be had.
Survivors being extremely bad doesn't really change what game is though.
Comparison should be between same skill level, so it's more like killer sided at low level and more survivor sided at high level.

I don't see any trash talk. Also imagine defending such things because someone played in a way you dislike. Even if a survivor was being a tbagging snot, telling someone to kill themselves is not okay in any capacity. Hell, people have gone to prison for it.
Well maybe, I just don't see it any different than slashing people on the hook, they just want someone else to be unhappy.

I never said their build was sweaty.
I made a general statement that you shouldn’t care about what killers think of your load out because the first thing people usually say is “don’t play by survivor’s rule” so that same rule applies to survivors too.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2776704#Comment_2776704
Perhaps you missed the context, but I was clarifying to another party that OP seems to be shedding some light about the new low this community has reached that they (anyone who would do this in this case the survivors who made those comments) would wish death upon someone for using a freaking perk.
Again, not just using a perk.
-
You don't need to, this game is always alive... for the killer.
Nothing you can do as survivors I guess, there is just too many of them.
