What's the difference between a .25 movement Speed. Seems like it won't effect anything.

They should delete it. Its the most broken item in the game.
Literally

It's not completely useless.
You can use it's add-on to have aura reading in place of another perk.
Yeah but that's only for 10 seconds while the skeleton key has 30 seconds and can open hatch making green keys worse.

Ur not addressing any of the issues that come with just casually bumping the time it takes to repair gens up.
What about killers who camp? Even just til stage 2 is still crippling to the person on the hook.
What about every perk and add-on that affects repair speed via penalties?
Tunneling is also an issue too. If gens take longer it's easier for a killer to tunnel someone out of a match earlier and make it a 3 v 1 at 4 - 5 gens potentially.
Ur not taking into account the balance catastrophe that increasing gen times would create
Thank you. No one seems to realize increasing gen speeds will buff camping and tunneling.
-
You would have to fix camping and tunneling to compensate. If you make gens take longer then there is still nothing stopping the killers from tunneling a person out of the game making it nearly unwinnable with gens speeds longer.
-
You also have to take into account the time it takes to find the totem and bless them which could increase your odds of running into the killer. The risk comes from that.
-
It wouldn't work for killers to place there own totems. Think about it killers always say they don't have time to do anything in the game but placing your own hex totems would still be waiting time. They have to find the best totem spot would surely waste a lot if time since you aren't given the location of dull totems. And if you are given the location of the totem it still wouldn't work. It's still being left up to rng since you have no control over where the best dull totem spot will be at, also if a survivor notices you putting down your hex totems then it makes all the effort you went to to hide the spot wasted since they will know the location. So having killers Pic the spot seems like a big time waste.
I'm surprised that killers haven't though about this before asking to place their hex totems.

I love how everyone is glazing over the fact that boons are going to be a side objective for survivors as well.
It takes time to bless and put a boon in place. It's already been confirmed that should a Killer find said boon totem they can remove it very quickly = a potential waste of the survivors time.
And we don't even know if the boons will be worthwhile either. I swear.. Watch the boons have weak effects and nobody end up using them 😔
But yeah, the way I'm seeing it is this is incentivizing survivors to do something other than gens and nobody is thinking on that lol additionally it will hopefully be fun. I really like the idea behind it and adding more mechanics into the game. Again this is all too early to be throwing tantrums over but hey go off
I'm going to laugh if this is the case. The community has an extremely bad habit of overreacting over things.
Also if you think about it if boon totems are similar to hex totems then the killer shouldn't have to worry about it. It's an objective but it's not a mandatory objective. You can completely finish a game with all your hex totems up. If it's not mandatory for survivors why would it be mandatory for killers to destroy. If the boon effect is weak this shows this even more.
-
I'm hopeful. It's about time we got a new meta perk. But knowing the community it will probably be nerfed to not change the meta.
I feel like history is on repeat.

They need to make something to make games last a bit more. There's no time to enjoy your killer power or your chases as survivor when most games right now end in less than 10 minutes. To have any sort of chance against good survivors you have to AT LEAST proxy.
They don't have to necessarily increase gen speeds. Here are some suggestions:
- Make maps smaller. Every map should range between the size of Coal Tower to Ironworks size being the biggest;
- Adjust tile safety, those super huge loops on Coldwind that you can see the killer over and should not exist. Safe pallets should only exist on places where the killer can mindgame (shack, jungle gyms) and the ones you can see the killer over should be like the car loops on Autohaven;
- Make survivors have to go through a 2 second animation to return a regressing gen to normal;
- Buff gen regression, removing only 15 seconds of a gen after a full minute of regression is just too little;
- Add some sort of early game slowdown so you can't just pop a gen in 40 seconds with Prove Thyself before the killer is even able to traverse the map.
With some of these, you can even nerf some of the killer gen slowdown perks for what I care, I don't even run them because they are boring, but it's super sad I'm just forced to run them if I want a game lasting longer than 10 minutes.
But what about camping and tunneling. I feel you can't really increase gen speeds without somewhat addressing them to. If you increase gen speeds and there is nothing stopping killers from taking a survivor early out of the match then it could make for some unwinnable matches for survivors, since now the gens take longer to do and they are short one person.
-
Meanwhile the boon perk is increase healing speeds by 1%

Not a fan of the Nurse Add-On. Yes, her current Iridescent Add-Ons are Trash, but she should never have more than 2 Blinks. If they want to change the Add-On to something useful, they should make something different than giving her 3 Blinks.
Thanks goodness I'm not the only one. I can only imagine a good Nurse with a 3 addon blink.

How about we wait and see what the actual effects of the Boon perks are before we all freak out about the mechanic.
Chances are, the bonuses they provide to Survivors isn't going to be that great to the point of the Killer feeling like they're forced to put a stop to it immediately.
I agree with this. The effects would have to be minimal to compensate. We should honestly just wait.

Survivors don't care if Deathslinger got nerfed. They only care about their fun of running the killer around all game, teabagging at the exit gate, and typing "gg ez" in end game chat.
Not me. I want killers to have fun too.

Only the effects of Hex perks aren't always there at the start of the game. It's always lit and can be broken, but that doesn't mean it's active or you get immediate use out of it at the start of the game: Devour Hope and Retribution for example. Neither is there a real con on the survivors side because there are other survivors doing work while you're looking for a good totem spot. Also, the way I see this going is that there is no real need for the survivors to really hide the totem either. They just put it on the totem where all gens are done and voila the killer will now have to waste his time going to a location where no one is and thus can't pressure anyone.
I'll be honest, I didn't really look into the new changes to the game too much so I don't really know the effects of boon totems (maybe they're not even known as of yet), but if those effects are going to be strong enough to force the killers hand to actually look for it, then being able to place a boon totem at a spot where the killer has no real business is going to have massive impact on the game.
Overall, I don't really see why only one side should be able to choose the location of their totem and in my opinion there are way more cons to having RNG choose a location for the totem rather than yourself. Not to mention that the survivors have several methods of being able to choose a good totem spot really quickly by using maps or specific perks like Detectives Hunch. But maybe having both sides being able to pick a location is their plan going forward and they're just trying it out on survivors first.
Even if killers were given a chance to put their totem in any location it seems like it would not work well. Killers always say they don't have time to do things but having to find the best totem spot would surely waste a lot if time since you aren't given the location of dull totems. And if you are given the location of the totem level it still wouldn't work. It's still being left up to rng since you have no control over where the best dull totem spot will be at, also if a survivor notices you putting down your hex totems then it makes all the effort you went to to hide the spot wasted since they will know the location. So having killers Pic the spot seems like a big time waste.
-
I think it sorta balances out. Sure the survivor has the chance to put the boon totem in a very hidden spot but that means the survivors is going to be wasting time to find the hidden spot which can be difficult given the map and you don't have totem finding perks. This includes the time it takes to bless a dull totem as well as the time for the killer to destroy it.
So I would say both has its pros and cons.
Hex perks pros
The effect is instant at the start of the game.
Con
Has the potential to be in a bad location
Boon perks pros
Can choose location
Cons
The survivors have to find the location of the dull totem first and bless them to get the effect which could take up time.
-
The best part here is "I'm not trying to start anything here" because they already are starting something by saying one side is bad.

I agree. They are annoying
I'm so glad both sides can come together in agreement against a common enemy

It would have to make sense right? Someone from the past wouldn't know what a generator is and be able to repair one. I think modern survivors are fine

I will try it out. I don't usually use multiple meta perks but for you I will make an exception

I rarely run meta. Right now I'm running Camaraderie, Second Wind, Empathy, and Breakdown on Steve.
I think anyone saying they're forced to run certain perks need to calm down and reframe their experience. I play to have fun so my perks reflect that. I don't always have fun every match, but these perks are more fun than just having my ass covered every time.
That sounds like a really interesting build. I might try that out. Can I ask how is Camaraderie?
To op i sorta change my build a lot. I have set a rule for myself to only use at most 1 meta perk. This has made my games more fun and have pushed me to do better in the game. My current build that I will change soon is Iron Will, Premonition, Fixated and Bond.

lol ds is still op, you just not good. How can you counter ds at egc? Camping and tunneling? Just don’t get hooked, you acting like you spawn on the hook, killer actually have to go out his way to hook someone to camp. Meanwhile swf can end the game faster then 2 minutes without even trying lol.
Ds is op?? I honestly can't believe people are still calling it op after being nerfed.
Killers complain just as much as survivors so please stop with the bias

It makes them more likely to be chosen, and anything to encourage people to try out new things is a big plus.
Also, it's nice to see "Hex: Thrill of the Hunt" - an old perk from way back - actually be given the very first minor change to defend against Boon Totems!
These alterations are welcome moves.

As a survivor I am willing to admit it can be too strong at times. I suggested putting the perk on a token system and let them be used a certain number of times.
To be honest I'm hesitant to agree with killers on dead hard because I don't feel any suggestions they propose is for the better interest of the perk but to completely destroy it and make it useless.

There shouldn't be a problem if you agree (which I assume you do) that both sides should be equally criticize.
Although I would perfer if people didn't call anyone, either killer or survivor, that they have no skill regardless of the perks they run.

And we have killers to critique out builds too

16 meta second chance perks will always be more powerful then 4 in which 2 can be taken out of the game real quick.
So thats justification for calling people skill less. I have seen killers get carried by meta builds. So why aren't you calling them skill less?
It's completely hypocritical to say survivors are skilless for running meta perks but killers aren't.

The hypocrisy is astounding.

So if a survivor uses meta perks they have no skill? Ok so what about killers who use meta perks and addons? Do they also have no skill?
Depending on your answer will show how bias you are.
