Killers will finally have to learn to play without massive slowdown. Corrupt, Scourge, POP, Ruin, Undying is simply too oppressive.
I'm glad the devs are finally seeing it is hurting the game.
well, last months I’ve only see surv nerfs and killers buff. So probably you’re wrong
-
Prove thyself. I don’t see it in the list
-
pain resonance and noed
-
You have 4 perks that affect all survs, and they have 4 perks each that affect 1 survivor. It’s the same number of perks affecting other players
-
Noed removed
-
Go to the center of the map and do a gen. You don’t need a perk
-
If they don’t nerf noed I would uninstall, and I’m sure many people would do it also

Just throwing it out there.. If you look at the most used perks from killers you see what the issue is in the game? Gens go too fast. so as much as im into this meta perk shift since honest its boring, im little worried since gen speeds havent been discussed and they even give survivors more perk ( the new Haddie perk) to make gens faster. Hopefully you fix prove thyself too.
Anyways im looking forward to it. Seeing same perks and using same perks all the time is getting boring.
The new perk does gen repairing go slower. You need to repair 4 gens alone without being injured to save few seconds

I mean you could back to the good old days in 2016 where there were infinites and brand new parts insta repaired a generator.
And killers needed to find survs. Now you have hundred of perks to find them

Tell us please noed is going to be nerfed too, please

Because activating Pentimento is still conditional, and there's no guarantee you'll get any value out of it in a given match. If the survs don't boon or break totems, Pentimento has no utility. And if it's just one totem, that 30% gen speed reduction is offset by the time it takes to find it, repair it, and the time taken away from direct pressure to do so.
People who don't play much killer don't always appreciate how much pressure you give up by having to hunt for things when you are your only teammate.
I don't think any perk with conditional activation can be called a top tier perk. It's like Devour in that it's hella powerful once you get it to a certain point, but that doesn't happen that often, and most of the time it's useless.
I think this perk is a way to address the boon meta a bit by discouraging liberal booning, and I think it's fine. Boon less, or not at all (gasp!), and it's a non-issue.
Pentimento wont be meta, but only because you won’t see a boon totem in the future

Spend that time walking to a totem when there's no sense of urgency in the beginning a survivor is likely to follow and watch you then cleanse your totem when you walk away. You'll get more value immediately getting in a chase and pushing a survivor off gens with Ruin. If you're mid game and find time to even use Pentomento you've already won.
As for a successful immediate start with 30% gen repair minus speed. Chances are if you get value out of this to the point where survivors don't focus on cleansing this you're likely going against potatoes anyway. The only value you'll get out of it in that situation is a survivor getting bored and suiciding on hook. Also - To do what everyone is worried about you need two perk slots. Most killers in the game can't afford two perk slots for this gimmick. A killer like Nurse it doesn't matter that's trivial because Nurse could literally have any perks and do fine. Then let's say you try this on Shape. You end up getting looped the majority of the duration and don't really have any fallbacks because wasting two perk slots.
If it works great - But it's too gimmicky - You're relying on too many stars aligning or survivors being oblivious or ignorant to this perks existence.
Now would I agree that a successful use of this perk is boring? Yeah - But I don't see the totem standing long because survivors really hate slowdowns and will look for this thing.
i don’t think we play the same game. That’s all

Yeah I can waste a good 10-20 seconds checking totem spots letting survivors get free gen progression throughout the map.
Are you saying you struggle to deal with an easily cleansible hex totem as survivor that once it's in play it's obvious and easy to cleanse? Forcing the killer to either spend time defending the totem or patrolling gens?
You're better off using ruin.
so you think wasting 10-20secs to activate pentimento and decrease 30% of gen repairs speed won’t be the best perk in the entire game?
-
@Dustin said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2956032#Comment_2956032
Yeah in my opinion it should affect Dulls too. If anyone struggles against Pentimento because of the two perks combo'ing they were going to lose anyway.
Like imagine - The killer used two perk slots for Pentimento and Shattered Hope - Manages to roam around the map finding the Dull's without the aura because they're not broken yet and breaks them to rekindle them - While wasting time in the early game with no hooks while the survivors can still cleanse the hex totems. Let's say they get away with this - The survivors likely have 3-4 generators done by now and there's zero sense of urgency on the survivors when finally getting to the gates because no hooks. It's a losing strategy.
Not directing this at you per say but oh my god people are actually worried about pentimento. If people are losing to that perk they deserved the loss.
Are you saying you can’t find a single totem in 10-15 secs from the beginning of the match as killer? You only needs to play 10-15 hours to know some totem placements on every map
-
no more campers and tunellers!!!!

I only suicide if I see a facecamper or tunneler. I run towards him and let him hook me. He wants an easy game and I give him a 1vs2 survs a minute after the match starts

But not two effects that are each independently something people would use all on its own. If B&C had no aura at all it's unlikely it would see much use. If all NOED gave was a 5% speed boost it would never get used. But if you split Dead Hard up into both a lunge for distance and a second perk that allows you to be instantly invulnerable for a short time then both those perks would see use.
Invulnerable without distance it’s useless

A 1v4 game, anyone would think that the 1 player would be much more powerful than the 4 right? Well not in dbd, here the 4 players are the power role and are favoured by the devs in such a way that they hold the power to "bully" the killer into oblivion. Maps designs always favour them, they get second chances to fix their mistakes and their objective (doing gens) is much faster than the killer's (hooking survivors). The killer who is always out of time has to do secondary objectives (breakable walls and snuffing boons) lol. Now the killer role is so trashed and feels so stressful that very few people wanna play it, which has increased survivor queue times massively. So making survivors the power role really backfired for Behavior eventually didn't it? It was only a matter of time. They kept favouring the majority (survivors) but forgot they NEED killer players to have dbd.
The kill rate is above 50%. Perhaps it’s you

There are some possible exmplanations in my mind:
- Solo Survivors get frustrated by their team mates inefficiencies and due to general lack of communications.
- Survivors don't like going against this particular killer.
- Survivors get dedicated and get unfairly hit.
- Survivors lose hope when the killer snowballs hard enough.
A surv see a camper.

Camp and tunnel more. Use the most overpowered perks and addons. Face camp every survior who uses dead hard, decisive strike, unbreakable or any perk that annoys you. Run whatever perks you want, use noed, scourge hooks, ruin, undying, currupt, lethal pursuer and whatever perks help whatever killer you use. Use Blight, nurse, spirit, artist, endgame trapper, impossible skill check doctor, legion with 4 slowdowns and long duration frenzy.
Play how YOU want to play, you paid for the game, you are the killer and not the babysitter. You're mission is to give survivors to the entity and forget that stupid fake rulebook survivors try to bash into your head. 12 hooking doesn't belong in this game when survivors want to be split on gens, hide with spine chill and iron will, wear the darkest cosmetics and exploits.
How many bully squads have you faced? They want to see you suffer to laugh and say ez. Bring lightborn against the flashlight squad. 99% everyone's stalk as ghostface and slug near your first hook.
Survivors wanna bring brand new parts, septic agents and sabo boxes? Bring the forbidden addons of your killer. Pinkie finger with extra bottles, bloody coil with iri stone or honing stone, 3 blink nurse, any addon above brown for blight, permanent teir 3 myers.
Survivors if you think about saying how toxic this post is and how I'm horrible for encouraging this behavior. I don't care. This post was meant for killers and if you are a killer who still doesn't agree that you can play however you want in this game I don't consider you a killer, I consider you a brainwashed subject of survivors. Forget survivor fun, focus on your fun. SLUG FOR THE 4K, slug at 5 gens and camp them with insidious behind a corner with nurses calling and sloppy butcher.
You paid for the game right? You own the game because it was a gift? You HAVE OBTAINED A COPY IN SOEM FORM. Play for your fun, punish survivors for thinking they can bully you. Don't wanna go to the map they wanna send you too? Exit during loading screen and find a new lobby. You get called horrible things during endgame? Tell them you don't care about their opinion, you're the killer your job is to kill.
The devs want more killers in the game but why haven't they looked at the most USED AND POWERFUL PERKS that are in the survivor meta? Guess they don't want more killers. This is a game play how you want to but I'm encouraging that you don't follow survivor rulebooks. They don't care about you or your fun so make your own fun.
do you need a hug?

It actually statistically does appear to be overpowered. Per datasets players have posted there is a much higher than normal correlation between the number of survivors who use Dead Hard in a match and escape rates. And the devs have also directly commented that they saw something similar in their data and weren’t happy with it which is why it’s expected the perk will probably see a nerf soon. It’s also the reason it’s apparently the most popular survivor perk by a fair margin (something like 40-50% of survivors use it).
The reason it’s overpowered is pretty simple - it’s actually two effects in a single perk both of which are strong enough to be decent perks all on their own. You could have a perk that just lunges for distance with no invulnerability and a lot of survivors would still use it just for that, and likewise because hit validation has made it so you can 100% reliably dodge attacks based on animations the dodge itself could be a perk at this point in its own right. (And anybody who says the dodge never comes into play at high level are wrong, lunging for distance is more common but dodging to evade hits also comes up at least a couple of times a match from what I can tell. Plus the threat alone of dodging a swing often extends chases a few more seconds as killers try to bait or wait it out.)
You can remove the aura reading of b&c and many killers would use it anyway. You can remove the higher speed of noed and killer will use it anyway. There are other perks that have 2 effects

You're right no point in wasting time with people that can't see how unbalanced a single perk can be.
Just please tell me how to "chase better" when someone uses dead hard for distance. If I mind game them they can just E to the pallet or window.
And what can survs do against bloodlust or windows blocked after 3 vaults?

This is called a loop, a standard loop has what is known as a short side and a long side, with a pallet inbetween. Now most loops can actually be mindgamed by the killer. A mindgame is when you move back and forth in an attempt to out position the survivor to either, A force the pallet drop or B hit the survivor. This is how you play DBD.
In DBD you have what are known as exhaustion perks. exhaustion perks artificially extends the chase, when outside the killer's attack range. The standard exhaustion perk moves at 150% for 3 seconds, however there are exceptions. Every single perk has set criteria on when and how it can be used, but they all have one thing income. Its used outside the killer's attack range. This is considered fair and balanced, due to the very fast downing potential of killers There is however one difference (dead hard).
Dead Hard's one and only difference is that it can be used to autocorrect a mistake. When looping the killer, at the above the image, its important to understand that as a survivor is capable of gauging the range of a killer's lunge. When using dead hard, a survivor's burst of speed doesn't matter much. What does matter, is that the killer is incapable of hitting the survivor with his lunge attack. Despite knowing this, the killer is forced to go for the lunge attack anyway, because he needs to fore the survivor to use his dead hard. Once the killer has missed his attack, the killer's momentum is slowed down massively. To the point, that the survivor is can get an entire loop around the pallet before dropping it, because missing an attack on most loops will allow for this. If you are using dead hard for distance, then you only have a very basic understanding of the the perk. Your exact words were "Dodging a hit doesn't do much. The distance gained by the killers hit CD often isn't even enough to make it to another pallet." This is why I said you have no idea how to use the perk. A missed attack should allow for a survivor to get a full loop around the pallet. As in they continue the current loop, before dropping the pallet on the next loop. This is why Dead hard is called the 3 hit perk. If you are dead Harding to a pallet, the killer keeps his momentum, you are still forced to drop the pallet. This is fine, and balanced. If you take issue with that, then I don't know what to say other then just.. get better. The bar can only be lowered so much.
Now lets say we removed the invulnerability. Even if used, it is impossible to get the hit, the killer has two options. 1. continuing through, this will force the pallet drop, 2. The killer doubles back in hopes that the survivor is out positioned and can get a hit in. Either way the killer is not punished. The pallet is dropped and the killer can begin mindingaming the pallet while keeping momentum. Using the perk out in the open will offer little value for the same reason, making it necessary to use the perk at loops, and not out in the open.
Also I just read that you quit DBD and yet still post on the DBD forums... I have no words.
The other exhaustion perks are considered balanced only because no one use them. You’ll see hordes of killers complaining about sb when dh will be nerfed to the ground

Destroyed the perk? It's still literally one of the top 3 best perks in the entire game.
No, it’s not. But it’s the only weapons survs have to prevent tunneling. If pop regressed only 10% and were the only regression perk it would be meta also.

Nice how for you 10 and 60 seconds are comparble.
Ds does what it did before it is meant to counter tunneling its not meant for you to have a shield so you can sit there and work on a Gen and when the killer comes around you can have 39 second plus chase only to smack him when he downs you. Killer are players to we aren't npcs to entertain you
If ds is an antitunnel perk it should be usable twice and without the skill check

killers kill boil over because a one spot in one map and only with swf

The last change they did to the stun was even BUFF it years ago.
Well, give pop 10 secs to use it only. The effect would be the EXACT SAME

It makes no sense to me. Why would you give a survivor a free escape it's not like the killer can find a button somewhere random on the map that gives him a kill. So why would survivors get a free escape, and i know that you can slug to get the 4 kill but thats just annoying and a waste of time. It's also annoying as a survivor when there is 1 gen left and you are being chased and the other survivor just lets you die so he can get hatch instead of doing the last gen. Its also really dumb when de tbeag and click their flashlight when they leave through the hatch even though they did nothing to deserve that. I just think it makes no sense. (and yes i know it doesn't count for mmr).
Why you can facecamp at egc? Why you give the killer a free kill?

Isolate iframe as a new perk.
As for the distance, devs can keep it or make it longer with the limitation that can't vault / drop pallets for 3 seconds after using DH.
This change forces survivors to use their brains to think instead of "oh my god there is a window / pallet just suck my Dead Hard killers", or just use sprint burst.
That will be great.
Thank you.
Agreed, if they add 3 difficult skill check to any regression perk, so killers need to use their brains to use them
